- Cabo San Lucas
- Puerto Vallarta
Located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Cabo is surrounded by clear waters and sun-kissed beaches. As one of the world’s premier resort destinations, it’s the perfect place to relax, recharge and reawaken your passion for adventure. On a Mexico cruise, tour Todos Santos and enjoy lunch at the Hotel California. Or sail on a catamaran to Lover’s Beach, and snap a photo in front of El Arco on your way.
With a culture as timeless as the scenery, Mazatlan is a jewel in Mexico’s crown. Stroll past the colorful homes and artisan stalls that line the streets. Celebrate the city’s cultural and historical highlights during a folkloric show. Or shop for hand-crafted goods in one of Mexico’s major port cities, and find a special gift to take home as a token of your Mexico cruise.
Between its beaches, aquatic parks and vibrant art scene, Puerto Vallarta’s varied landscapes offer adventures for all. On a Mexico cruise, wander through the city’s galleries, and sample tequila alongside handmade tortillas and salsa. Or stroll along the seafront Malecon boardwalk – the city’s premier shopping destination — where mementos, margaritas and Mexican buffets await.
What to Do on a Cruise to the Mexican Riviera
Learn more about Mexico while touring historical landmarks, sharing a traditional meal with locals or relaxing on the sun-drenched beaches.
The Malecon
Mazatlan cathedral, medano beach.
Spend an entire day walking along the Malecon, Puerto Vallarta’s beach boardwalk. Shop for regionally crafted goods — like woven baskets or a pair of leather boots — and meet the locals who created them. Stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can enjoy delicacies like tamales and pozole with a seafront view. Or watch street performers sing and dance, and get up close to larger-than-life sand sculptures.
On a Mexican Riviera cruise with Princess, travel back in time to the 19th century during a visit to Mazatlan’s Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Admire the Moorish and Gothic architecture, and marvel at statues of famous saints — like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John — that decorate the church’s exterior. Then head inside to see baroque decor, crystal chandeliers and gold-lined murals.
With an abundance of activities to do on both land and sea, Medano Beach offers something for the whole family. Relax on the golden shores, or indulge in a waterside lunch nearby. Float in the turquoise sea, or make some waves on a jet ski ride. Your dream beach day awaits on a Mexican Riviera cruise to Cabo.
Mexican Riviera excursions
On a seven-day Mexico cruise or a 10-day itinerary, you can find expertly crafted excursions on every itinerary. Zipline across forests and rappel down waterfalls in Puerto Vallarta. Spend the day catching marlin and tuna in the world-class fishing port of Mazatlan. Or scuba dive through Cabo’s protected marine sanctuary. With excursions for every traveler, see why we’re named one of the best cruises to the Mexican Riviera.
Ships on this itinerary
Our Princess fleet includes ships that offer a multitude of amenities and feature the innovative MedallionClass® experience. From a balcony stateroom, take in the sights and sounds of the colorful cultures ashore before enjoying the “sabor” of local cuisine in one of our many eateries during your Mexican Riviera cruise.

Experience the country’s unique character the second you step on the ship with traditional Mexican cuisine, events and activities.
Mariachi and margaritas
Sip, savor and sway to the music with onboard activities that give you a taste of Mexican tradition. Sample tequila while learning about the drink’s history from a local expert, and indulge your taste buds with tacos and fajitas. Or let loose with your loved ones during a mariachi performance, and dance to the lively tune of violins and guitars. On a cruise to Mexico with Princess, activities lie around every corner.
Every reason to celebrate
On select sailings in October and November, discover the region’s heritage with our Mexican Fiesta. Celebrate the Day of the Dead, a holiday to commemorate loved ones who have passed. From face-painting to Aztec flower-making, there are activities for the whole family on a cruise to Mexico. Learn a traditional dance, decorate marzipan skulls and make a skeleton out of pasta. Or watch dancers perform ‘The Procession of the Dead.’
Mexican and Spanish Cuisine
Famous for a reason
Recognized by UNESCO for its cultural heritage and preservation of culinary technique, Mexican and Spanish cuisine is a big part of the region’s culture. Sample the bold flavors and creative combinations for yourself on a cruise to Mexico with Princess. In many of our dining rooms, enjoy Mexican-themed dishes — like ceviche, fajitas and coconut cocadas — for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You asked: Do I need a passport for my cruise?
By The Way Concierge digs into the (surprisingly) complicated rules for travel by sea.
Traveling has always come with complications. Our By The Way Concierge column will take your travel dilemmas to the experts to help you navigate the unexpected. Want to see your question answered? Submit it here .
We’re going on a very short cruise from California to Mexico this spring. Do we need passports for our kids, even if we don’t get off the ship? — Ben, Springfield, Va.
There’s a difference between what you need and what is a good idea to have.
Let’s begin with the first: On most cruise lines and for most itineraries, a voyage that starts and ends at the same U.S. port and stays in the Western Hemisphere will not require any American citizen — child or adult — to have a passport.
These are called closed-loop cruises, and they only need proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate plus a government-issued photo ID, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection . For people under 16, a birth certificate will suffice. Popular cruise lines including Carnival , Royal Caribbean and Norwegian detail their requirements and any exceptions online.
A sailing that leaves from one U.S. port and ends at another — or starts in the United States and ends at a foreign destination — would not be classified as a closed-loop cruise. Everyone, including kids, would need a passport in that case.
There are some caveats, warns Teresa Tennant, senior vice president of the travel planning company Cruise Specialists . Some cruise companies, including Holland America Line and Princess Cruises , say that all members of a party must have a passport if minors are traveling with only one adult.
Some other cruise lines, such as the luxury Regent Seven Seas Cruises, require a passport for all sailings.
“It’s important to always check with the cruise line, because they can set their own rules that are actually above and beyond,” Tennant said.
Customs and Border Protection also urges travelers to check with their cruise company, travel agent and destination to confirm what’s required to enter foreign countries on an itinerary.
Whether or not you are required to have a passport, cruise lines and experts say it’s smart to have one before setting sail. The task isn’t quite as onerous as it used to be, now that wait times have returned to pre-pandemic norms of six to eight weeks for routine service and two to three weeks for the expedited process.
Cruise lines say they strongly recommend that passengers opt for the passport over other forms of identification.
“A passport is the hassle-free, gold standard for traveling between countries,” Royal Caribbean says on its website. “Boarding and disembarking through customs with a passport is usually faster than other types of ID documents.”
The U.S. State Department says travelers might need their passport “in the event of an unexpected medical evacuation or if the ship docks at an alternate port.” Travelers would also need their passports if they showed up late in a foreign port and the ship left without them — which has happened to some U.S. passengers recently.
“You should bring your passport even if your cruise says you won’t need it,” the State Department says on its information page for cruise ship passengers.
Colleen McDaniel, editor in chief of the news and review site Cruise Critic , said in an email that it would be much more difficult to get home without a passport if someone had to leave the ship.
“In such a case, you might have to rely on help from a U.S. embassy or consulate to return, which can take time,” she said.

Announcing the Hot List Winners of 2024
By CNT Editors
It’s inevitable: Every spring when we pull together the Hot List , our annual collection of the world’s best new hotels, restaurants , and cruise ships , a staffer remarks that this latest iteration has got to be the best one ever. After a year’s worth of traveling the globe—to stay the night at a converted farmhouse in the middle of an olive grove outside Marrakech, or sail aboard a beloved cruise line’s inaugural Antarctic voyage—it’s easy to see why we get attached. But this year’s Hot List, our 28th edition, might really be the best one ever. It’s certainly our most diverse, featuring not only a hotel suite that was once Winston Churchill’s office, but also the world’s largest cruise ship and restaurants from Cape Town to Bali. We were surprised and inspired by this year’s honorees, and we know you will be too. These are the Hot List hotel winners for 2024.

Cozumel is proof that Mexico can do ‘island flavor’ with the best of the Caribbean. It may not be the biggest island in the sea, but Cozumel offers a huge variety of things to do, see, taste and explore. This island just happens to be perched atop a coral reef, which promises hours of snorkeling or scuba diving fun. Cruises to Cozumel dock at the island’s heart — just minutes from San Miguel’s seafront shops and the white sand beach at Chankanaab National Park. Drift among star corals and sea fans on a Cozumel diving excursion or simply kick back on the beach beneath your own palm palapa as the turquoise waves roll in. With non-stop zip line action, ancient discoveries at the nearby Mayan ruins, or time spent with your toes in the sand, a cruise to Cozumel may just top your best vacations list… before you even get home.
- Cruise to Cozumel for a scuba diving adventure along the Great Mesoamerican Reef.
- Enjoy a leisurely day of snorkeling with iridescent fish at Chankanaab National Park.
- Swim with the flippy guys at Dolphinaris.

Princess is launching an all-inclusive, 4-month, around-the-world cruise for $20,000— see what it'll be like
- Princess Cruises announced a 114-day world cruise to 52 destinations in 2026, starting at $20,000 per person.
- Guests who book early would get a free, all-inclusive package, a first for Princess' global itineraries.
- Extended and all-inclusive cruises have emerged as big trends in the vacation industry.
Princess Cruise's new around-the-world voyage will hit two vacation trends in one itinerary.
In January 2026, the company says its Coral Princess will embark on a 114-day cruise to 52 ports in 28 countries and six continents — more destinations than any of its previous global sailings .
It's the Carnival Corp brand's latest appeal to the extended cruising trend . But it's not the only fad this four-month vacation is targeting.
The sailing, which starts at $20,000 per person, also marks the first time Princess is offering a complimentary all-inclusive package as a way to entice early bookings.
Ultra-long and all-inclusive cruises have emerged as big trends in the industry.
Regent Seven Seas, Azamara, and Oceania's 2024 around-the-world cruises all sold out before departing in January. The former was fully booked within three hours, while every cabin on the latter was called for in 30 minutes.
Besides being high-end, these three companies share one commonality: some level of all-inclusiveness , as is common with premium cruise lines.
Mass-market cruise companies rarely go the all-inclusive route.
Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian are generally beloved for their affordability.
But if you want to experience all their ships have to offer, be prepared to face a list of up-charged amenities like pay-to-play rides and specialty restaurants . After all, there's a reason their base fares are much cheaper than their increasingly popular ultra-luxury, all-inclusive counterparts.
But Princess has been increasingly vying for a slice of the luxury cruiser pie.
The cruise line says guests who book its 2026 world cruise early (that is, by the end of October) will receive its most inclusive Princess Premier package for free. The perk — launched two years ago — covers amenities that typically have a fee, like WiFi, premium drinks, some specialty restaurants, and workout classes.
Travelers who reserve one of the ship's high-end cabins by the same deadline would also receive complimentary airport transfers and airfare, services normally exclusively offered by luxury cruise lines .
The itinerary would have two roundtrip embarkation options: Fort. Lauderdale, Florida, on January 5, 2026, or Los Angeles 16 days later.
From there, the 2,000-guest Coral Princess would sail more than 35,000 nautical miles to ports in North America, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Australia, Asia, the Mediterranean, Europe, and Central and South America.
It wouldn't be Princess' longest voyage — that title goes to its 116-day world cruise in 2025 — but it would be one of its most destination-heavy.
While two days longer, next year's around-the-world cruise would hit six fewer ports and four fewer countries than its 2026 counterpart.
According to the itinerary, about half of the 2026 voyage consists of sea days.
That's a lot of time on the water with no land in sight. Luckily, travelers can keep themselves entertained by attending lectures and programs related to the destinations, leisuring around the adult-only lounge, or taking a dip in Coral Princess' four pools.
The 21-year-old ship also has 10 places to grab a bite, although the Italian and steakhouse restaurants are considered specialty. Premier is the cruise line's most inclusive package, but it only includes 16 free dinners at these upcharge restaurants, paced once a week.
Princess is still a mass-market cruise line, after all.
The company has been increasingly dangling its inclusive package as a big perk.
The company says its two-month-old Sun Princess will debut in the US in October with its first-ever Sanctuary Collection . Travelers who splurge on these expensive and luxurious accommodations would be rewarded with two major benefits: a private lounge and Princess Premier.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s Kids Isabella and Connor Through the Years: Photos
Mysterious! Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ’s children, Isabella and Connor , have flown under the radar since their parents called it quits in 2001.
Cruise and Kidman, who tied the knot in December 1990, adopted Isabella “Bella” two years later after the Big Little Lies alum suffered an ectopic pregnancy. The pair expanded their family in 1995 when they adopted Connor.
“From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies,” Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2007. “And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that’s when we would adopt Bella.”
The duo, who met in 1989 before working together on Days of Thunder , remained connected to their work and family during the late ‘90s. They were in a state of bliss when they costarred in 1999’s Eyes Wide Shut , according to Kidman.
“We were happily married through that,” the Oscar winner told The New York Times in October 2020, reflecting on teaming up with her then-husband for the Stanley Kubrick project. “We would go go-kart racing after those scenes. We’d rent out a place and go racing at three in the morning. I don’t know what else to say. Maybe I don’t have the ability to look back and dissect it. Or I’m not willing to .”
The Moulin Rouge star recalled: “We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set. We would say, ‘When is it going to end?’ We went over there thinking it was going to be three months. It turned into a year, a year and a half. But you go, ‘As long as I surrender to what this is, I’m going to have an incredible time.’”
However, the former couple’s filming bubble burst in February 2001 when Cruise filed for divorce . Their legal separation was finalized in August of that year and while the Cold Mountain actress agreed to joint custody of their children, Isabella and Connor chose to live in Los Angeles with their father. Kidman, for her part, resided in Australia.
When the Risky Business actor married Katie Holmes in November 2006, his kids seemingly embraced their new blended family. (Holmes and Cruise welcomed their own daughter in April 2006. They called it quits June 2012 .)
“Both Isabella and Connor are really close with Katie, much more so than Nicole,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2012.
That same month, Isabella opened up to Australia’s New Idea magazine about her dynamic with Kidman, who married Keith Urban in June 2006. The country crooner welcomed two daughters, Sunday and Faith, with the Bombshell actress in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
“I love mom. She’s my mom. She’s great,” Isabella said in May 2012. “I see her sometimes and I speak to her.”
The artist revealed at the time: “We’re a very close family. I love all of our family.” Isabella’s parents, however, were not at her surprise nuptials in September 2015 when she wed Max Parker .
Isabella opted for “a super low-key, small ceremony” in London, a source exclusively told Us at the time, confirming that neither Cruise nor Kidman were in attendance. The bride’s younger brother, Connor , was there to represent the family.

“She really didn’t want to make a big deal out of it,” the insider explained, adding that the nuptials were followed by “a very, very informal” reception.
In the years that have followed, Isabella and Connor have continued to keep low profiles . The pair have on occasion shared photos of their lives on social media.

3 bodies found in Mexican region where Australian, American surfers went missing, FBI says
Updated on: May 4, 2024 / 8:34 PM EDT / CBS/AP
Three bodies have been found in a Mexican town near where three surfers — two Australians and an American — went missing last weekend, the FBI confirmed Friday evening.
In a statement to CBS News, the FBI said that three bodies were found in the town of Santa Tomas in the Mexican state of Baja California. The Baja California prosecutor's office told CBS News that the bodies have not yet been positively identified, which will be done by the state medical examiner.
"While we cannot comment on specifics to preserve the sanctity of the investigative and legal processes, along with protecting the privacy of those impacted, we can assure you that we are assessing every tip," the FBI's statement read. "If credible, we will pursue those leads with rigor. We are in contact with the family of the U.S. Citizen, and we are steadfast with our international law enforcement partners in finding answers."
On Saturday, María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the Baja California state attorney general, told Reuters in a statement that "all three bodies meet the characteristics to assume with a high degree of probability that they are the American Carter Rhoad as well as the Robinson brothers from Australia," said Baja California's state Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade."
Andrade Ramírez told Reuters that the three bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition at the bottom of a well more than 50 feet deep.
Mexican authorities Thursday reported that they had found tents and questioned three people in the case. The Pacific coast state of Baja California is a popular tourist destination that is also plagued by cartel violence.
Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their American friend have not been seen since April 27, officials said.
Andrade Ramírez Thursday would not say whether the three people questioned were considered possible suspects or witnesses in the case. She said only that some were tied directly to the case, and others indirectly.
But Andrade Ramírez said evidence found along with the abandoned tents was somehow linked to the three. The three foreigners were believed to have been surfing and camping along the Baja coast near the coastal city of Ensenada, but did not show up at their planned accommodations over the weekend.
"A working team (of investigators) is at the site where they were last seen, where tents and other evidence was found that could be linked to these three people we have under investigation," Andrade Ramírez said. "There is a lot of important information that we can't make public."
"We do not know what condition they are in," she added. While drug cartels are active in the area, she said "all lines of investigation are open at this time. We cannot rule anything out until we find them."
On Wednesday, the missing Australians' mother, Debra Robinson, posted on a local community Facebook page an appeal for helping in finding her sons. Robinson said her son had not been heard from since Saturday, April 27. They had booked accommodations in the nearby city of Rosarito, Baja California.
Robinson said one of her sons, Callum, is diabetic. She also mentioned that the American who was with them was named Jack Carter Rhoad, but the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City did not immediately confirm that. The U.S. State Department said it was aware of reports a U.S. citizen missing in Baja, but gave no further details.
Andrade Ramírez said her office was in contact with Australian and U.S. officials. But she suggested that the time that had passed might make it harder to find them.
"Unfortunately, it wasn't until the last few days that they were reported missing. So, that meant that important hours or time was lost," she said.
The investigation was being coordinated with the FBI and the Australian and U.S. consulates, the prosecutor's office added.
In December, cartel leaders went on a killing rampage to hunt down corrupt police officers who stole a drug shipment in Tijuana, which is located in Baja California.
In 2015, two Australian surfers, Adam Coleman and Dean Lucas , were killed in western Sinaloa state, across the Gulf of California - also known as the Sea of Cortez- from the Baja peninsula. Authorities say they were victims of highway bandits. Three suspects were arrested in that case.
