I have always been a fan of Cruzan Rum. Learning how it is made it even better. Because St. Croix is an American territory, you can bring back up to 6 bottles to the States. I also learned that the flavored rums are bottled in the states. I highly recommend the tour. In the end, you receive 4 samples and two cocktails. I tried the banana, the vanilla, and the peach.

Tour was so awesome and informative. Learned so much about the rum making process and got to see the inside view of the process while they're doing. Staff were awesome and filled with knowledge.

The distillery tours are back up and running....and we had a great time! The tour was just long enough to be informative but not to long to bore you :) And the cocktails and samples given out afterwards were phenomenal!!!

Pros: - You get four shots and two cocktails after the tour is done - You can buy bottles cheaper than anywhere else on the island and cheaper than in the states - Parking on site - Great sitting area Cons: - You have to go on tour to do a tasting - The tour is outside in the heat and our tour guide that day was either new or just didn't enjoy his job - you have to wait till a tour starts - we initially tried going on a Saturday and it was closed. Extras: The tour is $10 per person. Bathrooms on site are clean

On our vacation to St Croix we had to do SOME touristy 'stuff' so a day of shopping and a tour of the Cruzan Rum Distillery was mandatory for us. Neither Wifey nor I are big drinkers, but we do live a cocktail from time to time and if it's summer then Cruzan Rum is a nice way to start! We really had a blast on the tour and the tasting afterwards. I absolutely love learning things when I'm on vacation so we were able to nerd out for a bit. After the tour, you're offered a tasting and I recommend taking them up on it. We tasted four kinds of rum and had two cocktails at he bar. Drinking age is 18 in St Croix so my daughter tried a few too...I think she found a couple she'll like when she turns 21 (yeah, ok...). Probably shouldn't have driven to our next destination, but it all worked out. I tried the Single barrel, light, cruzan confusion and diamond dark. Also had a tropical punch and a delusion for my cocktails (so good...). There are mango trees all over the location so the bartender sliced up some warm, fresh mango to eat between tastings. We walked away having purchased a case of flavored rum. I'd go back for another tour if we ever make it back to St Croix.

While I was in St. Croix a couple months ago, this was on a lot of lists of 'Places to See' in St. Croix so I naturally had to go. I also love rum. Cruzan will give you a guided tour through the facility, which is awesome. If there is a molasses truck dropping some off, they'll even let you taste the raw molasses they use for the rum. It was really neat. After the amazing tour, you get to same a couple of the rums and a couple of their mixed drinks that they make with their rums. I bought a few bottle of rums to take back to the states with me and they packaged them really nicely. I would definitely go to the Cruzan Rum Distillery if I'm in the neighborhood again.

We had a large group on an island bus tour, and the Cruzan Rum Factory was by far our best stop! Our tourguide (wish I remembered her name) was absolutely fantastic- she was energetic, funny and really engaged with our group. The tour is just about the right amount of time and really covered everything from history to how the plant works to who owns it and how it's operated now. Then of course the tastings are a favorite for everyone. They are generous and plentiful! We all left feeling good and full of rum! Aside from the great people who work there and the amazing rum that comes from the Cruzan Rum Factory- it's in a beautiful setting. Make sure to make time to sit and enjoy a drink on the patio or under the gorgeous tree out back. March 2016 group tour- Cruzan Rum was our Fav!

Great tour that was informative and short. Loved seeing the process, and even got to try the molasses coming out of some big tanker truck. Tour guide was awesome! Lovely gift shop and bar where you can try some rum and drinks. It was hot, so we only had one drink (delusion), and it was yummy. Best thing: 6 bottles of fruity flavored rum (1L each), plus a box and packing for $51. Box is packed and perfect for checking as cargo on your flight back to the US mainland.

Our tour guide was a complete rip and I am being nice! She was not very informative. She talked like she was reading from a script and not like she really knew. The gal giving the next tour was upbeat and smiling and engaging the group. I want a do-over.

Tour guide Shelly. I don't recommend her.

Newly renovated and reopened in April, 2024, a tour of the Cruzan Rum Distillery on St Croix is one of those things to do on St Croix you just won't want to miss!

When you tour the Cruzan Rum Factory, you’ll be stepping into St Croix History. The Estate Diamond Distillery has been producing rum on St Croix since 1760. And likely when you visit the factory on St Croix, you’ll bump into one of the Nelthropps – after many generations, they still run the show.

Rich in heritage, the Cruzan Rum distillery is “the world’s most honored rum distillery in the world”. The hand-crafted rum is not only the basis of Cruzan Rum ®, but they are also the largest supplier of American private and distributer label rum. With their well-earned place in American History, the Cruzan Rum Distillery is one of two rum manufacturers included on the American Whiskey Trail .

While the Captain Morgan Distillery and Experience Center is state-of-the-art, the Cruzan Rum Tour will take you on a personal journey through the making … and tasting of this piece of Virgin Islands history and culture. Take your time, enjoy, don’t hurry… it’s the Crucian way!

The 30-minute walking tour takes you through the rum distilling process and then back around to the Cruzan Rum Visitors Center to sample some of your favorites or try some new flavors. It's also a great spot to pick up gifts and souvenirs to take home.

Cruzan Rum Distillery Tour Rates

The walking tour includes a stop at the bar after your tour where you can order two mixed drinks and sample up to 4 different rums. Kids  (ages 17 & under) are welcome with soda and juices available for them.

• $25/adult 18+
• $10 for kids 4-17
• $15 for locals with a valid USVI ID

Hint: This is the best place to purchase rum to take home with you. Cruzan offers great deals on 6-bottle packages (each adult returning to the US can bring back 6-bottles of alcohol duty-free if one was distilled in the US Virgin Islands). The great folks at Cruzan Rum will pack your rum safely into a travel box for you to take home. And the best part is that it doesn’t count as one of your checked bags (so you don’t pay to fly it home). You can thank the USVI Government and Dept of Tourism for that!

Did you know you can both tour rum and vodka distilleries, and a brewery while visiting St. Croix? Most of you will inevitably enjoy some of our favorite local spirit, rum. Touring the rum distilleries of St. Croix is near the top of all the ‘must-do’ list of attractions while visiting the island. For a nominal fee you can take a guided tour of a rum distillery and learn the history of rum, as well as how it is produced.
