You won't be fast traveling for quite some time
Dead Island 2 isn’t a proper open-world game, but - as you might’ve seen in games like The Outer Worlds - you’ll be able to move from one area to another separated by loading screens.
Levels are quite linear, despite always offering some space to move around, and loot for equipment and new weapons.
Like in open-world games , though, you still have a fast travel feature, even though it’s not immediately obvious how to unlock and use it.

Dead Island 2: How to unlock fast travel
You won’t be able to use fast travel for a good chunk of the game, and looking at how self-contained the map looks and feels by then, you might even think it’s not a thing.
However, despite popping up a bit later in the game, Dead Island 2 features fast travel, and it’ll be necessary when you’re asked to do some backtracking from time to time.
Fast travel will become available once you reach Venice Beach, the sixth location (out of ten) spread across the entire game map.
Here, you’ll be able to access 3 story missions, 5 side missions, 2 Lost & Found quests, and 52 points of interest.

Dead Island 2: How to fast travel
Even when you unlock fast travel in Dead Island 2, you won’t be able to use it by just opening the map and pressing a button on your location of choice.
Differently from other open-world games, you can only use fast travel by moving to a safe house nearby (it’ll mostly be a hotel, or the starting point of a mission), and standing in front of an in-game map stuck to a wall or on a table.
Pressing a button on the in-game map will open the map in your menu, and from there you’ll be able to use fast travel to wherever you want to go.

Unlock fast travel in Dead Island 2 and you can quickly jump between locations
Dead Island 2 fast travel is very useful as you open up more of the 10 different zones within Hell-A. It let's you quickly switch to different areas without having to fight your way there on foot. However, it isn't available from the start in Dead Island 2 , and you can only move to adjacent zones by passing through the gateways connecting them.
As you explore you'll unlock plenty of Side and Lost & Found Quests that involve moving back and forth between destinations, as well as gathering a stack of Dead Island 2 keys that need reuniting with their locks, often in different areas. So a fast travel system makes all that a whole lot easier for you and if you want to know how to unlock fast travel in Dead Island 2, then all of the information you need is right here.
How to unlock fast travel in Dead Island 2

To unlock fast travel in Dead Island 2 you need to finish The Red Mist quest in the main campaign. That will take you to Venice Beach, where you'll end up meeting the Blue Crab boys and finding a new safe house. At this point you'll receive a notification that Fast Travel Maps are unlocked, and signpost icons will then appear on your map to show locations you can fast travel from. They look like this:
While you can access your map at any point, you can only use Dead Island 2 fast travel by physically interacting with one of the Fast Travel Maps you can find in the world. You can use these to jump between different map locations but you need to find the individual Fast Travel Maps in each area to unlock them first. Although you will be given a few to get started with at first.

- Halperin Hotel - Janitor's Office
- Bel-Air - Emma's Mansion
- Monarch Studios - Green Screen

- Venice Beach - Blue Crab Grill
- Venice Beach - The Tower
- Ocean Avenue - Serling Hotel
- Brentwood Sewer - Maintenance Room
- Brentwood Sewer - ZFZ Near Patton's
Note that Venice Beach and Brentwood Sewer both have two Fast Travel Maps that can be unlocked, while all other zones only have one each.

Fast travel.
Posted on 21 December 16 at 02:36 Xbox updated patch for DR4 game and checked it out they didn't put the Fast Travel icon on the Willimate MegaMall linking to the emergency shelter tunnels. So where the Fast Travel icon??? Game Completed; A - Arcade / R - Retail A 1 ][ R 1

Mall to Shelter Fast Travels: Old Town - Hallway between Kiichiro Plaza & Caribbean Cove, take the escalators down (north side of the hallway), double door should be on your left...... West Ridge: by the go cart track in Miami Boardwalk next to (north of) Cameron's Cameras North Point: In Medieval Town (North Side) between Medieval Museum and Mr' Chef's Sewers: in the mall parking lot, right of where the table of food is Hope this helps!!!!

Quick Step is a blended juice in Dead Rising 2 , Dead Rising 2: Case Zero , and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record . When drank it increases Chuck's speed drastically for one minute.

I'm on case 3 and have yet to figure out how to fast travel. I pull up the legend and it shows the icon for it. But i can't find it anywhere on the map. Off the Record received average reviews, with a score of 73 and 72 on Metacritic for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 respectively. Gametrailers gave the game an overall rating of 8.2 out of 10.
