I enjoyed the trip and everything was well organized. However I would suggest that, whenever there is only one person booked on the group tour, they should be informed earlier than 1 day before.

The hotel was in a trendy location and the hotel/airport transfers went well. It would have been nice to have spent more time in Eze and Menton. Also, the tours should have been split up so that the English speaking people were in one group and the French speaking people were in another group instead of combining them so that everything had to be said in both languages. For the most part though a nice vacation.

Literally meaning ‘Walkway of the English’, The Promenade des Anglais extends almost 7km along the Mediterranean stunning coast of Nice. This beautiful walkway was named after the English aristocracy who began spending their winters in Nice back in the 18th century. The story has it that after a severely cold winter in the north, Nice had an influx of beggars who the English proposed would work on the promenade for employment.

A short boat or (for the more adventurous among you) kayak ride away from Cannes, The Lérins Islands are a fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the nearby ports. The two largest islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, offer stunning views of the Mediterranean and the city of Cannes as well as contain a host of unique experiences for visitors. Sainte-Marguerite contains the fort which famously held the mysterious ‘Man with the Iron Mask’ prisoner as well as a museum dedicated to the architectural discoveries from shipwrecks off the coast of the island.

This seaside villa located at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera is undoubtedly one of the most stunning private properties developed in the region, with its interior and nine gardens (each with a different theme) open to the public throughout the year.

The villa was constructed between 1905 and 1912 by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild (a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family); its lavish interior was filled with antique furniture, vintage paintings, sculptures, and rare collections, and its gardens were exquisitely designed to an incredible standard. The property was donated in its entirety to the Académie des Beaux-Arts and ever since adored and appreciated by visitors from across the globe.

While its name may seem slightly deceiving (as there is indeed no castle atop the hill), Castle Hill offers visitors stunning views of the old town of Nice, the Promenade des Anglais and the Mediterranean. Famous for its wealthy inhabitants, Formula One Grand Prix and Monte Carlo Casino, Monaco is squeezed into 208 hectares (0.81 square miles) within the French Riviera. Even though it is home to super wealthy individuals, Monaco is not the prettiest town in the region. But it’s still worth visiting for the day though. Who knows! You may try your luck and win at the Monte Carlo casino’ roulettes!

Charming towns and villages

The French Riviera is not only about fame and luxury though. There are plenty of quaint villages to explore. Take the rocky medieval village of Èze, for instance. Perched on a peak, it attracts crowds every summer. You can also visit La Turbie which offers a great viewpoint on the Mediterranean, or Menton. Located close to the Italian border Menton is known for its lemon festival and old town. If you feel like learning more about flowers or perfume-making, head to Grasse,  the home of perfume.

Paradise for art lovers

For art enthusiasts, The French Riviera is really appealing. Especially for those interested in Modern Art. Start with Nice, where three major museums are located. Two of them are dedicated to Chagall and Matisse while the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice (MAMAC) gathers masterpieces from the 1950’s to the present day. Then head to the Picasso museum in Antibes unless you prefer to visit the Fernand Léger National Museum located on the outskirts of Nice. The Jean Cocteau museum in Menton is also worth a visit. But the one we prefer above all the others is the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence that houses modern masterpieces in a wonderful setting.

Day 1 UK - Cannes

Day 2 cannes & nice, day 3 cannes - at leisure.

Today has been left free for you to do just as you please. You might want to stroll along the famous La Croissette promenade, take a walk along the beach, browse the designer boutiques or enjoy some of the city's chic cafes. There's also the charming old town of Cannes and the marina area, where you can enjoy some of the best views across the bay of Cannes.

Day 4 Monaco & Monte Carlo

Today we’ll visit the tiny sovereign state of Monaco. Ruled by the Grimaldi family for more than seven centuries, it boasts luxurious hotels, exclusive restaurants and the highest number of millionaires per square metre than any other country in the world! Discover the district of Monte Carlo, which is the sophisticated playground of the rich and famous.

Day 5 Cannes - at Leisure

Day 6 cannes - at leisure.

Spend today at leisure, or join your Holiday Director on a full-day optional excursion to St-Paul-de-Vence, a charming hilltop fortified village to discover art galleries, boutiques and inviting cafes as you stroll through its winding streets and admire breathtaking views. We’ll continue on to the popular seaside town of Antibes, perhaps the most exclusive resort on the Côte d’Azur.

Day 7 St Raphael & St Tropez

Today we include a tour of the delightful resorts of St Raphael and St Tropez. Discover St Raphael's old quarter and take a stroll along its lovely promenade. Then in St Tropez, one of the most beautiful resorts in the south of France, maybe enjoy an ice cream or a drink as you admire the chic marina, or head to its atmospheric Old Town.

Day 8 Cannes - UK

Today we'll transfer you to the airport for your journey back to the UK.

Le Moulin Rouge  is located at the foot of Montmartre, a large hill in Paris’ 18th Arrondissement. Famed as the birthplace of the French cancan, the cabaret dates back to the end of the 19th Century. Originally named Le Bal du Moulin Rouge, it opened its doors on 6 October 1899. The flamboyant shows provided much needed entertainment and decadence for Parisians after the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.

With marina versaggi - licensed guide, hello my name is marina a friend i met on the plane to brazil calls me "the little explorer."  i think she's right, i am passionate about travel, nature, art, and architecture, drawn to everything that is different from me, everything that is foreign and unknown..

Twenty years ago, thanks to the international exchange program Erasmus, I discovered France and immediately fell in love with it. After completing my undergraduate studies in Rome, I seized the opportunity to pursue art history studies at the renowned Ecole du Louvre in Paris.

I arrived in Paris full of hope and with the determination to stay! And so, between ups and downs, love and challenges, I spent 13 years in the most romantic capital in the world. I knew Paris like the back of my hand, but as I love adventure, discovering new places, and embracing new challenges, I made the decision to move to the south of France, to Nice, the city where my two best friends from Paris had relocated!

Nice was a heartwarming experience for me! I felt like I was back in my hometown, Formia, nestled between the sea and the mountains, just like Nice. As soon as I unpacked my bags in my new apartment, I said to myself, "Why didn't I move here sooner?"

The architecture, colors, mild climate, vegetation, blue sky, sea, and mountains - everything reminds me of Italy at every moment. I feel like I'm enjoying the best of both cousin countries!

So I started anew here, and even though it's not always easy, all I have to do is look at the horizon of the sea to remind myself of these encouraging words from Victor Hugo: "The horizon underlines the infinite!" There are a thousand and one possibilities in every moment of life, and with each passing moment, I want to open up my life more and more, live intensely, and savor every emotion. That's what I want to share with you - not just stories and anecdotes.
