Emotionally, the EP is just a reflection of my experience reading the stories “Storming The Thunder” and “The Lone Patrol.” These chapters really helped set the tempo for the rest of the book, and they also gave me great insight into understanding more about the people who commit these crimes and why. Initially, I found myself angry with all of the violence and negative actions being committed on our open waters. However, as I continued to read on, I realized I was learning about a world or a group of people with a different perspective. I was able to realize through Ian's writing and observations, that I will never really understand what it feels like to grow up in an environment that leads me to a life of practicing illegal and unethical ways of making money in my world. The book continued to open windows into a world that I was very unaware existed until diving into The Outlaw Ocean. It’s a book worth reading. I want my music to convey a similar journey to how the book was for me. Outside of people listening to the EP, I just hope the project continues to create awareness on these subjects and helps others to learn more about a world that is clearly in need of some support and guidance. Headphone Activist is a now 10 years-long project from the creative mind of Pete Domville, who finds influence from DJ Shadow, Clams Casino, TNGHT, & Amon Tobin. His concept for the project has always been this, “Create the music that I love, and share it with the world.” His catalog ranges from electronic and festival-based music, to film and ambient music. “My project is made possible by the continued support of my community and the people who continue to listen, share, and support my work on their respected forums. Thanks for helping me to make my dream a reality.”
