Just got home from seeing Heilung in Portland, OR at the Keller Auditorium; and, while the performers were excellent, I think the venue and the _effect_ the venue had on the audience was terrible. Heilung is - more so than the average - a reciprocal experience between performers and audience, one where there's a visceral and visible exchange. The Keller, on the other hand, is where you sit politely and watch Hamilton or Michael Pollan (actual shows I've seen) and clap and hoot at the proper appointed times. Oil and water. People eventually did stand and move about a bit, but it was far too late - the show was almost over - and the bolted down seats certainly kept the expressiveness to a dull simmer.

Great group. Good venue. Bad pairing. Seeing them outdoors, under the stars, in a natural amphitheater with awesome acoustics is the way. Hopefully I'll get to do that in the not-to-distant future.

Last night was a bit special. My 2nd Heilung event and a definite improvement on the first one (which was good, but they're getting better). The soundstage seemed of better quality than the Islington Assembly Hall venue used last year. The warriors, Maria and especially Kai were a lot more aware of the audience and seemed to want to "bring us in" more. The Warriors had more to do and there was more choreography used.

Songs were a mix of the last two albums. You can't go wrong with Krigsgaldr or Hamrer Hyppyer (which is made extra special by the invasion of the audience by the warriors) but the first single from the new album, Norupo, was spectacular - the addition of the female chorus an added bonus.

What a night.

It was the best experience in my entire life ! I really mean it. When i first listend to their music i always wanted to hear them live no.matter.the.cost. And i knew that they are amazing but seeing them live is such an amazing sight ! It makes me shiver and my neck hair standing up ! Hearing them makes me not only comfortable but also puts me into a stage of losing myself in time of pre christianity and the time were the Vikings were still roaming and religion ment nothing (best timeline). I just really love them and i really respect them ❤ also i deeply care about since they gave me a good time with their music and wanna thank them so much ! I will always support them no matter what it takes ! I hope to see them again and dance to their drums !

This show was a complete blast. Though they have started 30 mins later (due to the fact that people were still comming in) and there was no warmup music (waiting for an hour and a half with just birds singing and water flowing), the wait was well worth it. Everything, starting from the musical part all the way to the show part was spot on. Mezmerizing when it needed to, making you angry when required and just a humongous blast of energy during the last song, Heilung has shown complete dedication and understanding how to appeal to any listener.

Heilung is fantastic! Amazing show! The visuals and constant drum beat were entrancing. One way to describe it would be to say "Pagan Church". I've never seen a show like this. 100% original. So happy they came to the US. Loved it! I can't wait to see them again!

Amazing show, unforgettable experience. There are not so many bands that give you goosebumps on their concerts, but Heilung definitely is one of them. 10 out of 10, would persistently recommend.

Heilung Announce First Full Tour of North America

Pagan folk phenoms Heilung have just announced their first full tour of North America, and the band pledges to plant one tree for every ticket purchased.

Heilung first arrived in North America in early 2020, playing a total of seven shows in a collection of major cities. They returned in October 2021 for a standalone concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, and they’ll be back yet again in fall 2022.

"Friends overseas, we were deeply moved by your warm welcome on our first visits in North America,” Heilung writes. “We will return for our 2022 tour beginning in August, to sing, howl and dance with you again. For each person joining the ritual, one tree will be planted."

Heilung’s ritualistic and immersive stage show will hit Atlanta, Ga. first on Aug. 26 and tour North America until Oct. 1 in Dallas, Texas. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Dec. 10 at 10AM local time. Click here to grab your passes.

Heilung first captivated the world in 2017 with the track “Krigsgaldr,” which has accumulated 29 million plays on YouTube alone. The band also teamed up with gaming company Ninja Theory to score the soundtrack for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II .

Heilung Announce 2022 North American Tour

Comprised of members hailing from Germany, Norway, and Denmark, Heilung are a experimental folk/industrial group committed to bringing back the forgotten sounds of the Iron Age through rich, stirring songs performed on unusual instruments including swords, shields and human bones . Today (December 9th), the Revolver favorites — whose immersive, ritualistic live shows are must-see events — have announced a big North American tour for late summer and early fall. The trek is set to kick off on August 26th in Atlanta, Georgia, and the final curtain will draw on October 1st in Dallas, Texas. HEILUNG Return to the U.S With October/November Tour Dates

HEILUNG are bringing their acclaimed live performance to 10 U.S. cities this fall. Many they’ve never played before, including Florida, Alabama, New Orleans and Missouri, while others will be welcoming back the pounding, rhythmic, Nordic collective at larger venues.

The tour will commence in Greensboro, NC, on October 17. HEILUNG will then travel along the Southeast coast before heading west and performing the final night of their spellbinding ritual on November 5 in Denver, Colorado.

HEILUNG have a tradition of donating one dollar for each ticket sold to planting trees. The proceeds from this tour will also support reforestation. More details coming soon.

HEILUNG will be playing songs from their entire discography, including “Drif” , which came out last fall. The album is available on vinyl, CD, cassette and as a digital download through the Season of Mist store .

Heilung Tour Dates

Since its inception in 2015, the enigmatic ritual collective HEILUNG has been paving melodic paths to the past with their unique and mystifying sound. Evading all conventional genre tags and the confines of any specific labels, the group aptly self-describes their sound as “amplified history,” emphasizing their ability to connect modern society with the rudiments of humanity’s beginnings through music. While HEILUNG features authentic and archaic instrumentation that ranges from rattles and ritual bells to human bones and throat singing, their captivating brand of music is far from primitive.

HEILUNG ’s success has been unprecedented, achieving milestones in its few short years of existence that many do not see in a lifetime. The collective already had rapidly been growing a buzz upon the self-release of their first full-length, “Ofnir,” in 2015, but their dizzying upward trajectory really took off from the moment they set foot on the stage at Castlefest in 2017 for the now-legendary debut of their live ritual. Luckily for those who were not fortunate enough to bear witness to this magical event, the full ceremony was captured on film, having since been viewed by tens of millions of fans across the globe. 

As HEILUNG trekked across Europe and brought their mystifying experience to new audiences, talk of this new band and their stunning ceremony made way to Season of Mist label owner Michael Berberian , who quickly offered the band a record contract after seeing their undeniable musical impact for himself. 

By 2019, HEILUNG launched their second full-length record, “Futha,” which contrasted the masculine and battle-heavy themes of their debut with a feminine counterpart that celebrated fertility and female energy. Upon the first week of the record’s release, it graced the Billboard charts with coveted numbers, debuting at #3 on the Heatseekers Charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Chart, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts while meeting critical-acclaim from the press on a global scale.

Heilung tour 2024 announced : Pagan folk phenomenon Heilung has just announced its first North American tour, and the band promises to plant a tree for every ticket purchased.

The Ritual of Healing is not a performance or concert, but a fully immersive ceremony that connects listeners to elements of nature through music, dance and mysticism. Heilung will promote its 2019 album Futha, which debuted at number three on the Billboard Heatseeker chart and number four on the Billboard World Music chart, and was on a total of seven Billboard charts in its first week of release.

Heilung's immersive, ritualistic stage show will be seen first on August 26 in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a North American run through October 1 in Dallas, Texas. Heilung 2024 tickets for the tour go on sale December 10 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

HEILUNG Announce Dreki Ferdhast European 2024 Tour

2024 is the Year of the Dragon.

Associated with strength, power and good luck – the year of the dragon is considered an auspicious time for new beginnings and achieving great accomplishments.

HEILUNG is set to embark on a new European tour in the year of the dragon. With a set of 12 dates across the European continent through September of 2024, Heilung aims to bring a realm where past and present converge, creating a unique, unforgettable and transformative journey.

Avant-garde black metal band Zeal & Ardor will be supporting Heilung across these European dates.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale this Thursday at 10:00 CET.

Alongside this tour, Heilung are also partnering up with non-profit organization SAVAGE LANDS. For the Dreki Ferdhast tour, for each ticket sold, Heilung will donate one euro to the non-profit organization. This will breathe new life in the forests of Costa Rica.

The Nordic collective will perform their ritual across the following dates on the European continent.

Soon after, the audience is swept into rapture, swayed by incense and throat singing, primordial rhythms, subtle electronic textures, a mesmerizing light show, an army of warriors and bursts of fire; a ritual.

Heilung Playing Amsterdam for First Time Ever

HEILUNG will be bringing their oracular ceremony to the AFAS Live venue. Having released their critically acclaimed third album ‘Drif’ in August of 2022, the collective will make their mystical appearance in Amsterdam for the first time ever on the 21st of September 2024.
