Location and getting here

‍ The nearest airport is Skukuza Airport (SZK).  It is approximately a 45min flight from Johannesburg airport (JNB), and a 2.5h flight from Cape Town (CPT). Once at Skukuza airport, a road-transfer of 1 hour will have you at the lodge, inside the Kruger National Park. ‍ Firstly, we'll handle everything including your lodging, flights and transfers!

The game drives were exciting and the search for the leopard was one of the highlights of the trip. The rooms were spacious, and the food was almost unending. The only downside, and understandably so, was the inability to move from one room to another, after dark. While our sons were older and able to stay on their own, families with slightly younger children may have to stay in one chalet. Strongly recommend it!!

We have been travelling to to South Africa every year for the past 12 years and stayed at many game reserves including the Krugar many times. This year we saved up hard and achieved our dream, to stay in Sabi Sands. All that I can say it's Well Worth every penny, the reserve is just something else! It's the best and it's a must, forget the rest push the the boat out and and stay at in Sabi Sands.. We chose Elephant Plains due to our budget. It was wonderful food fantastic, staff brilliant, service first class. We saw the big five for the the first time in 12 years.... So if you are looking for a safari holiday then look no further this place is the best. Memories we will never forget.

The staff are genuinely interested in your adventure and happiness joining in stories and experiences of each game drive .Be prepared for the early starts 5.30 am game drive however believe me this is the best time of the day to see the animals and is a magical time to see the bush. The lodge and rooms are to a very high standard with all rooms having great views and the best bit being no fences !!!! YOU REALLY ARE IN THE BUSH 🙂 . This is without doubt a luxury Safari

After spending 2 nights at the Dulini River Lodge we spent 2 nights at the Dulini Lodge. Even though both Lodges are in the same Reserve and very close they offer a different athmosphere. The Dulini Lodge gives you a stronger "Africa feeling" in terms of decoration and setup in my view.

The bungalows are very spacious and well equipped.The welcome is kind and warm and the staff is amazing. They provided me with a special birthday dinner which made the stay even more memorable.

The game drives with the Ranger Fred and our tracker May where an experience. We saw a lot and as haveing been on Safari before we received so much more indepth information since we did not have to worry about seeing all the big 5 (which we saw anyway).

When we surprised a rhino and it charged our Land Cruiser, leave it to our guide, Brogan, to take care of business. With a sharp, "OY!", the rhino stopped it charge, turn around and trotted back to its mate. Note that the wifi was only available in the office when we went, but it's due for an upgrade any date. Pro-tip: No cell coverage, but the office has a cell tower booster. Turn off your wifi, and your phone will pick up the cell booster if you have a local phone or international plan

Don't miss the bush walk--we walked through a field of butterflies, saw all kinds of animal tracks, and enjoyed a different view of the landscape we'd been driving through all week. I would also highly recommend visiting the Thornybush Community Project gardens with Gavin, where some of the beautiful food served in Sabi Sand resorts is grown by local women as part of a community collective. We loved the fact that we were teamed up with the same driver/tracker/four other guests in the same car over the course of all the days - we had such fun together and really got involved in trying to spot the animals. And we were rewarded with multiple leopard sightings and the other big 5, as well as all the other beautiful animals - zebra, giraffes, kudu, impala etc - and many birds. The rooms - including outdoor shower, dining area, food, pool, gift shop, massage, the lovely candle light (and lack of electric lighting) and special sundowner by the river were all fabulous. We felt so relaxed and welcomed. The staff were professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They went the extra mile to engage with my 9 year old daughter. This place suited us perfectly. It was top class without being pretentious. Worth every penny - and actually better value than some other lodges. Recommended without hesitation. We hope to return one day. Thank you to all - Dale, Suzie, Gift, Desmond, Tulani, Riddent, Joe and everyone else (sorry if names are miss-spelt).

The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The rangers were good fun and all very knowledgeable. We successfully managed to see all the big 5, down to the commitment of our ranger. We really enjoyed the evening meal switching location each night and we were lucky enough to sample fine dining and river bbq under the night sky. Overall, a wonderful and an unforgettable stay.

Loved the lodges and different chill out places especially the outside bath to relax in

Jock Safari has its own private consession so you can get closer to the animals and wildlife. This is a huge plus point for jock safari. The rangers are so knowledgeable about all of the nature around them. They know all the birds, the trees, the animals etc... The lodge is amazing. It's like being out in the wilderness yourself. Elephants come to the watering holes outside the lodge whilst youre eating breakfast sometimes... beautiful sight to see. The food is 5*, services is 5*, you meet some cool people on your drives. Sundowners in the park are wonderful and a lovely touch. Can't fault jock safari one bit. You'll be disappointed of you didn't stay here.

Everything! They are doing great job! I spotted a walking leopard at Villa 001. We love the outdoor cabana(viewing deck), it is private and quiet. The bathtub is nice! Overall this is on of the luxury villa in Kruger.

The fine print Need-to-know information for guests at this property

The lodge is approximately 45 minutes to an hour from the Malelane gate and therefore we recommend that flights to / from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (KMIA/MQP) are booked to: arrive before 14h30 on day of arrival and depart after 10h00 on day of departure.

The camp is situated half way between Skukuza and Malelane gates approximately 35 km in both directions with only 3 km of dirt road. Due to the rules and regulations of the Kruger National Park, nobody is allowed on any Kruger National Park roads during the period of gates being closed. Therefore guests must be at their destination by the time the gates close.

Jock is located in a malaria area, but incidents are very low. Guests are advised to take precaution though.

Nkorho Bush Lodge accommodates a maximum of sixteen guests in eight stylish yet homely en-suite thatched chalets. The accommodations offer a relaxed atmosphere in luxurious surroundings, where guests will experience sheer contentment and tranquillity. Guests can enjoy hearty breakfasts under a thatched deck overlooking an open plain while dinners are enjoyed around an open fire in a typical leadwood boma. 4 Day Sabi Sands Under Canvas Tented Safari

A four-day safari in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, with luxury lodging under canvas tents at Umkumbe Bush Lodge, provides the ideal glamping experience.

The Sabie Game Reserve’s scenic area has a diverse habitat, ranging from winding riverbeds and woodland to open savanna and riverine thickets. This wilderness reserve is home to the Big Five, as well as a diverse range of flora and fauna.

The Umkumbe Bush Lodge is nestled beneath a canopy of indigenous trees in the Sabi Sand’s southern reaches. This luxury tented camp, the reserve’s first of its kind, offers all of the creature comforts of home, but with a luxurious twist.

Two daily game drives are included in a safari stay at Umkumbe Bush Lodge. A scenic coffee stop may be included in the morning safari, and a classic safari sundowner and snacks may be included in the afternoon drive.

Accommodation

The main lodge at Umkumbe looks out over a patch of open savanna, a wooded thicket, and a winding drainage line that eventually empties into the seasonal Sand River. In the downtime between excursions and meals, visitors can explore the outdoors and keep an eye out for the game.

Elegant tent suites with plenty of space are located on their own elevated wooden decks in the middle of a forest and are all given names of trees native to the area. There are a total of nine suites available at this luxurious lodge, four of which are basic, one of which is luxury, and four outstanding. Each luxury tent has a balcony and comes with all the essentials for a relaxing safari vacation.

The suite features a private sitting area on a raised wooden terrace, a tea/coffee station, a standing fan, air conditioning, a baggage stand, a hair dryer, a mosquito net, a safe, bathroom amenities, and the option to convert the beds from twin to a double.

The Superior Tented Suites are secluded, private rooms that have a King bed, a sleeper sofa, and the option of an extra single bed for youngsters. There’s also a shower in the backyard, a bath, and separate vanities for couples. Two people and up to three children can stay comfortably here.

The opulent Leadwood Tent offers perfect seclusion and features a King bed and sofa bed. Also included are a separate soaking tub, his and her vanities, and an outside shower. One child can stay with their parents.

All of the regular tents are chic and roomy, with their own elevated wooden decks and natural settings among the trees. The room features a king-size bed that can be split into two twin beds, as well as a bathroom with simply a shower. Only two people can be accommodated in each tent.

Depending on the weather, breakfast and lunch will be served alfresco at the main lodge and supper will be served in the boma area along a blazing fire.

Collection and Drop off

For this package, Kruger Safari Company Tours and its service providers provide affordable private transfers. Guests are picked up from any Johannesburg hotel or address between 7:00 and 7:30. Guests are dropped off at their hotel or address as arranged or at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport around 17:00.

Remember that if you intend to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the final day of your safari tour, we recommend booking a domestic flight no earlier than 19:30 and an international flight no earlier than 21:00.

This historic safari lodge was the first private lodge to be built in the heart of Kruger National Park, Africa's premier wildlife reserve. Jock Safari Lodge is built in the Jock of the Bushveld Concession Area in the southern part of Kruger National Park at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers. Getting there

Jock Safari Lodge is approximately one 1 hour from the Malelane Gate. The Kruger National park prohibits the use of roads within the park once the gates are closed; therefore, guests need to be at their destination and transfer companies must be outside the park by the time the gates close.

In the late 19th century, the enticement of gold brought men from all corners of the world to South Africa. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, the author of the animal classic, Jock of the Bushveld, was one of these pioneers. The lodge, named after the charismatic author, offers privacy, exclusivity, personalized service and an authentic safari experience in a pristine wilderness.

Fitzpatrick's Lodge boasts three opulent Suites , each with a king-size bed or twin beds, en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower, air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities, in-room safe, overhead fan, and a private viewing deck. Two of the three rooms cater for a maximum of two adults and two children per room. Fitzpatrick’s can accommodate a maximum of six adults and four children.

The lodge can be booked exclusively and includes the services of a personal chef and game ranger. Menus are personalized to suit your needs.

The lodge facilities include a rock swimming pool, lounge with television and library, second lounge with fireplace, complimentary Wi-Fi, and tea and espresso machine.

The Kruger National Park is home to an abundance of wildlife including the famous Big Five . Other species to be seen include giraffe, cheetah, African civet, wild dog, hippo, hyena, jackal and various species of antelope to name but a few. The Kruger is a bird mecca with over 400 bird species recorded, including the lilac breasted roller, African hoopoe, grey heron, and Kingfisher.

Activities offered at the lodge include early morning and late afternoon open-vehicle game drives that are led by professional guides, guided bush walks that explore the fauna, flora and smaller creatures of the African bush, golfing at the nearby Leopard Creek golf course (additional cost), and spa treatments offered at the Pilgrims Rest Retreat located at Jock Safari Lodge.

Great planning and service, and everything worked like clockwork. We booked an Inyari Lodge safari with air with Safari.com. it wasn't clear if there will be 2 or three of us, so with Candis' help we booked a family chalet for 2 and added the third later when it was confirmed he can come. Candis put us on flights that maximized our game drive time (unlike some of the other guests) so we got all 6 drives in 3 nights. The lodge was great. Especially the game drives. We saw more than we hoped for. Additionally, Safari.com's insurance was very competitive. Highly recommended.

Fantastic travel agent for African safari family trip!

Wow! Shann was and is fantastic! She figured out a way to make our entire trip work. We are going on a 2 week trip to South Africa and Botswana. She really helped tie it all together as a wonderful, cohesive trip. She is super nice and super smart and very knowledgeable. She is also flexible and thoughtful, etc., etc. When the chips were down (and we literally were considering pulling the plug on the whole trip), she found a way to make the entire itinerary work and got us excited about our wonderful adventure! Highly recommend!

Stary Oskol is the Belgorod Region’s second city by population and today consists of two main parts: the historical centre on the hill and the new centre made up of blocks of housing estates (mikroraiony). It is named after the river on which it stands on; the word stary (old) was added to distinguish it from the new settlement of Novy Oskol (New Oskol). Just outside the city is an impressive cave-monastery complex.
