Will the recycling be put out on the right day? Who is going to smooth over the top of the margarine? How many lights are on upstairs when everybody is downstairs? Watch Jon Richardson pretend that these aren’t his foremost concerns as he leaves home on his first tour since the last one.

Jon Richardson is one of the UK’s finest live comedians, and he is back this autumn with an all new stand-up tour – The Knitwit. Be sure to catch him as he performs at some of the country’s top live venues, beginning at Chester Storyhouse on Tuesday 8th September, and ending at Warwick Arts Centre on Friday 11th December.

Jon has risen to the top of the comedy rankings with his brilliantly sophisticated, fastidious humour. His last tour, the critically acclaimed Old Man, saw him tour the UK for eighteen months between 2017 and 2018, and release his third best-selling comedy DVD. Jon has released two further DVDs of his earlier sell-out tours: Funny Magnet in 2012, and Nidiot in 2014.

As one of the most in demand comedy acts on TV, Jon is best known as team captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Cats Countdown as well as host of two series of Dave’s Ultimate Worrier. His other recent TV appearances include occasional host of The One Show, Would I Lie To You, Have I Got News For You, Insert Name Here, Hypothetical, Taskmaster, 2019’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Jon Richardson’s Guide To The End Of The World, plus the upcoming Channel 4 series Kevin McCloud’s Rough Guide To The Future.

Outfit Of The Day | Jon Richardson The Knitwit Tour At The St. George’s Hall Bradford.

Last week, both me and Jamie went to see Jon Richardson perform his The Knitwit Tour at the St. George’s Hall Bradford , and I thought that I wore a really nice Outfit whilst I was clapping along to and laughing at all of his hilarious jokes, so I thought that I would show you what I wore.

Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s what I wore.

A tall bearded man wearing a navy blue crew neck jumper, a navy blue v-neck t-shirt, a pair of navy blue chino trousers and a pair of shiny red shoes holding a bright red cane stood against a dark wooden fence.

A picture of me wearing a Jacamo Navy Long Cotton Crew Neck Jumper, a Jacamo Navy Long V-Neck T-Shirt, a pair of Matalan Navy Straight Fit Stretch Chino Trousers, and a pair of Dobell Red Patent Contemporary Dress Shoes.

Jacamo Navy Long Cotton Crew Neck Jumper from Jacamo .

I really liked the cut and style of this, as I thought that it looked really casual whilst also still looking quite smart. I also really liked it’s colour, as I thought that it’s beautiful deep Navy colour complimented the deep Navy colour of my T-Shirt and Chinos perfectly. Another thing that I really liked about this, was it’s material, as this was made out of an incredibly soft and fluffy Cotton that felt really soft against my Skin and also kept me feeling really warm all day long.

Jacamo Navy Long V-Neck T-Shirt from Jacamo .

I absolutely loved the cut and style of this, as I thought that it looked really casual whilst also still looking quite smart. I also really liked it’s colour, as I thought that it’s dark Navy colour complimented the dark Navy colour of my Jumper and Chinos really nicely. Another thing that I really liked about this, was it’s material, as this was made out of a very thick and silky soft but lightweight Cotton that felt really soft against my Skin and also kept me feeling really warm all day long.

Matalan Navy Straight Fit Stretch Chino Trousers from Matalan .

I really liked the cut and style of these, as I thought that they looked really smart whilst also still looking quite casual. I also really liked their colour, as I thought that their beautiful dark Navy colour made my Legs look a lot thinner and slightly longer than they actually are. Another thing that I really liked about these, was their material, as these were made out of a really thick and soft yet ever so slightly silky coated Cotton that felt incredibly soft against my Legs.

Dobell Red Patent Contemporary Dress Shoes from Dobell .

I really liked the style and design of these, as I thought that they gave my entire Outfit a really nice bold and classic finishing touch. I also really liked their colour, as I thought that their gorgeous bright Red colour complimented the beautiful bright Red colour of my Cane perfectly. Another thing that I really liked about these, was their material, as these were made out of an incredibly tough and shiny Patent Leather that made them feel really comfy and were perfect for walking around Bradford in before we went to see the show.

There you go, that’s what I wore when I went to see Jon Richardson perform his The Knitwit Tour at the St. George’s Hall Bradford .

What did you think of my Outfit? Is there anything that you would add or change? Who’s some of your favourite Male Comedians? Please let me know down below.

Jon Richardson ‘Old Man’ tour – Interview

Jon Richardson, comedy, Old Man, totalntertainment, Leeds

The stand-up Jon Richardson is chatting from a rather unusual location. He reveals that, “I’m currently in the Aldi car park in Clevedon.”

Who said that the life of a comedian isn’t non-stop glamour?

Still, Jon admits that being on a nationwide tour in places such as Clevedon with his brilliant new show, “Old Man”, is a blessed relief from his full-on domestic life. He is a very proud new father – but things have been understandably frantic at home.

Jon, one of the finest stand-ups in the land, laughs that, “Gigs have become very cathartic for me, as things are so hectic at home. Gigs are now the equivalent of going to the pub or the cinema!

“Our baby is only two months old, so it’s obviously the perfect time for me to be leaving home for several weeks! It has to be said, I’m not terribly popular at home. But I’m assuming that by the time I get back home, my daughter will be toilet-trained, capable of dressing herself and able to drive!”

The new show is packed with such terrific reflections on the trials and tribulations of new fatherhood. Jon discloses some of the more bizarre incidents that have occurred since he has become a father. For instance, he recalls that, “At one point, we were driving along the motorway when my wife needed to breastfeed.

“So we got off the motorway and drove down to the end of what we thought was a deserted lane. But as we reached the end, I began to think that there were more cars than there should be at 9 o’clock on a Tuesday evening. It turned out it was a local dogging site. We got a fair bit of attention…”

In the show, Jon will also be explaining that the arrival of his baby daughter has affected him in many unexpected ways. “Suddenly, global events take on more significance.

“When you’re single, you’re not beholden to anyone and you can shut down more easily. In the past, I had the idea that I’d live in a caravan with a dog near a pub with no responsibilities. But now when bad things happen in the world, I feel responsible for them because they’re going to impact on my daughter. The caravan, the dog and the pub have gone now!”

One of Jon’s main worries is that his daughter will grow up resembling him. “What I’m dreading is raising her to be like me. If I hear her saying, ‘I can’t eat that chip because it’s touched those baked beans’, I’ll know she got too much of me in her!”

Despite such tremendous anecdotes, though, Jon doesn’t want his observations about the impact his new baby daughter has had on his life to put people off. The comic, who has put out two live successful stand-up DVDs, Funny Magnet in 2012 and Nidiot in 2014, both of which are released through Universal Pictures (UK), says that, “I’m determined not to talk about my baby in a way that’s alienating”.

“But it’s been such a big change in my life that I can’t not talk about it. It’s also nice to have something new to stress about. I can really get my teeth into this stress!”

The comedian, who has starred on such TV shows as 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) and Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Live At The Apollo (BBC One), Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The 02 and more recently Taskmaster (Dave), has been attracting shed loads of critical plaudits. The Mirror, for instance, declares that, “For 10 years he has been among the funniest men in Britain”.

The Times, meanwhile, calls him, “One of our most individual and interesting stand-ups”. For its part, Time Out goes for a more succinct summary of Jon’s talent, describing him as, “Sublimely brilliant, stunning.”

Jon, who is as warm and witty in person as he is on stage, is still appealingly humble about his role as a stand-up. “I can’t believe I get to do this job! As I get older, I’ve got more and more to talk about and I have more and more confidence.

“I love the privilege of looking back on my life every three years, turning it into a comedy show and sharing it with an audience. It’s incredibly cathartic. It’s a way of converting the difficult elements of life into comedy. None of us know what’s going on at the moment, so to be able to laugh at it in unity for two hours is absolutely great.”

Since last touring the country, Jon has watched on as the UK voted to leave the EU and witnessed the inexorable rise of Donald Trump to the US Presidency. All of this prompts one key question: Why does it seem that no one else alive can correctly load a dishwasher?

As well as this pressing matter, Jon will be ranging over an array of other hilarious comic topics, including stress, a constant theme in his dazzling act. “I got shingles on the day of the EU referendum. It’s good to see that my stress has got worse as I’ve got older and that now there is a physical element to it!”

Another very amusing element of “Old Man” is that Jon uses Twitter to interact with his audience. The comic, whose bestselling book It’s Not Me, It’s You , was published by HarperCollins in 2012, recollects that, “Recently, I talked to a man in the audience, and he was shocked because I knew where he had been that morning, what football team he supported, and what his wife’s name was. It’s a good about-turn. That’s the joy of Twitter.”

Jon, who is a British Comedy Award nominee and runner-up in Heat Magazine’s ‘Weird Crush’ poll (not once, not twice, but three times!), adds, “That man had messaged me earlier, but people don’t always realise that when you Tweet, you’re building a public record of yourself. It’s nice to have all that free material. It means I can spend more time with my daughter and just take the mickey out of someone in the audience!”

The stand-up, who has also starred in Live At The Apollo (BBC ONE), Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The 02 and most recently Taskmaster (DAVE), proceeds to reflect on how much he adores the experience of live comedy. “It’s such a buzz. The instant reaction you get from the audience is such a privilege.

“Each show is a very honest portrayal of how I’m feeling that night. It can go off in any direction. The show is different every night, and that makes it much more exciting. Every evening is unique.”

But, much as he loves touring, Jon reveals, “I’ll have a break over the summer. People would rather be out in the sun than inside listening to a whingeing moron!”

And when “Old Man” tour finally comes to an end, Jon discloses what he will do next. “I’ll be back at home, concentrating once again on being a dad and a pernickety husband!”

Lucy Beaumont dealt career blow after announcing shock Jon Richardson divorce

Comedians Lucy Beaumont and Jon Richardson recently announced their shock split to heartbroken fans, with the pair revealing their plans to divorce after nine years of marriage

Comedian Lucy Beaumont's show Hullraisers has reportedly been cancelled after two seasons.

The reports come following her shock split from her husband Jon Richardson . The duo shared their big news on April 12, 2024. In a shocking statement, mere days after she explained the only downside to working with her other half, the pair said: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.

"We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways. As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy be respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment"

And now, it is understood Lucy landed another fresh blow after Hullraisers was reportedly axed after two seasons. The 40-year-old star writes for the series, which stars Leah Brotherhead, Taj Atwal and Sinead Matthews as three women working and navigating their lives in Hull.

Channel 4 previously described the comedy series as "the hilarious and agonising reality of what it is to be a working-class woman juggling work, kids, demanding friends, family and frustrating parents from the school playground – all whilst trying to have some fun too."

It's now been reported by The Sun that "the gang won't be reunited for a third series, with a source saying the show is 'two and done". The Mirror have contacted Channel 4 for comment. The news of the cancellation comes after Lucy and Jon announced their split.

The pair first met when they were match-made by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty and tied the knot in April 2015. They welcomed a daughter a year later, but have made sure she is kept away from the spotlight. Lucy gave fans a brief update on the divorce at a show in London's Bloomsbury Theatre.

She was back on stage on April, 20, for another performance as part of her first stand-up tour across the country, a show titled The Trouble and Strife. The words ring ironically as the expression is a British slang term for "wife", prompting Lucy to offer an explanation. "I didn’t have time to change the show", she quipped.

Lucy went on to address the headlines and admitted to the audience they had agreed to go their separate ways "last year" only revealing the news days ago as a publication had allegedly "found out" before their reveal. Lucy has assured she and Jon remain on good terms, according to the Metro's review of her show, adding: "We’re friends. It’s the best for everybody."
