Kid Rock Announces ‘No Snowflakes’ 2023 Tour

Kid Rock has booked a slate of shows dubbed the "No Snowflakes Summer Concert" series across some major U.S. cities this summer. A different special guest will support the singer on each of the tour dates.

"Snowflake" is derogatory slang implying a person is easily offended, overly emotional or has an inflated sense of entitlement. Kid Rock — the rock, country and hip-hop artist  with ties to former President Donald Trump  — goaded "snowflakes" in the 2021 song " Don't Tell Me How to Live ." ( "You snowflakes here's a news flash / Ain't nobody gonna tell me how to live," he sings .) The term "no snowflakes" also indicates that the tour takes place in the warmer weather of summer.

See the dates near the bottom of this post.

Four concerts have been revealed for the 2023 No Snowflakes tour so far, although it is presumed that more shows will be announced at a later date.

Kid Rock 's latest album, "Bad Reputation" , came out in March 2022.

"Bad Reputation" includes the three songs Kid Rock released in January 2022 — "We The People" , "The Last Dance" and "Rockin'" — as well as his November 2021 single "Don't Tell Me How To Live" , which was recorded with Canadian hard rockers MONSTER TRUCK .

"We The People" features the chorus of "Let's go, Brandon ," conservative code for "Fuck Joe Biden " (born when a NASCAR reporter misheard a crowd, reporting that they chanted in support of racer Brandon Brown when they were actually chanting expletives toward the U.S. president),and also takes aim at the mainstream media, CNN , TMZ , Twitter and Facebook , as well as mask mandates and COVID-19 restrictions.

"We the people in all we do reserve the right to scream, 'Fuck you!" Kid shouts in the song. "Wear your mask. Take your pills. Now a whole generation is mentally ill," he adds.

Elsewhere in the song, he raps: "COVID's near. It's coming to town. We gotta act quick, shut our borders down. Joe Biden does, the media embraces. Big Don does it, and they call him racist.

"Inflation's up like the minimum wage. So it's all the same. Not a damn thing changed," he exclaims.

He then calls for politically polarized Americans to come together, saying: "We gotta keep fighting for right to be free. And every human being doesn't have to agree. We all bleed red, brother, listen to me. It's time for love and unity."

The track concludes with sampled crowd chanting, "Let's go, Brandon ."

In a Facebook video announcing the three tracks in January 2022, Kid Rock described "We The People" as a "hard rock-rap tune."

"[It's] about, well, all the craziness going on in our world in the last few years and the politics and the polarization and social justice," he said. "You know, constantly for just being a Trump fan attacked in the media day in day out."

He added: "I don't mind taking a punch, but I hit back, motherfucker, and I hit hard."

Michigan, US native Bob Ritchie (born January 17th, 1971) a.k.a Kid Rock , has forged a career of over twenty years through his infectious party anthems that meld rap, rock and country into his inimitable style, as the self-proclaimed 'King of White Trash.'

Growing up in the small rural town of Romeo, north of Detroit, US, Ritchie found a love for hip hop, finding the music and lifestyle to provide an escape from the banality of small town life, creating his own rap music as well as breakdancing. Influenced by Beastie Boys' fusion of rap and rock, Ritchie developed his own style under the name of Kid Rock, eventually gaining a record contract with Jive Records in 1990, after impressing through a support slot performance for Boogie Down Productions. His debut album, "Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast" arrived shortly after, which was heavily indebted to Beastie Boys "License to Ill," achieving notoriety through the profanity-heavy single, "Yodelin' in the Valley." Kid Rock toured with Too Short and Ice Cube following the album's release, although Jive Records dropped him from their roster shortly after.

A move to Brooklyn, US, helped to reignite his career, signing to Continuum for 1993's "The Polyfuze Method," which moved towards a harder rock sound. The release received mixed reviews yet gave Ritchie the encouragement to continue making music. Another album, "Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp," arrived in 1996, with Kid Rock forming a band shortly after, having returned to Detroit, US. The band featured Joseph Calleja (vocals), Kenny Olson (guitar), Jason Krause (guitar), Jimmy Bones (keyboards), Stefanie Eulinberg (drums), Uncle Kracker (DJ/Turntablist) and Misty Love and Shirley Hayden (backing vocals).

With the rise in popularity of Nu-Metal, Kid Rock received interest from Atlantic Records, who decided to sign the artist for his 1998 release, "Devil Without a Cause." Extensive airplay on MTV helped bolster Kid Rock's popularity, becoming a superstar with a Top Five, Multi-Platinum selling album. Ritchie also became famous for his much publicized relationship with Pamela Anderson, receiving significant interest from the tabloid press.

Kid Rock returned in 2001 with "Cocky," featuring the hit single, "Forever." Rock gained a number one album with "Rock N Roll Jesus" in 2007, selling 172,000 copies in its first week. The hit single, "All Summer Long" became a massive success, a mashup of Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic, "Sweet Home Alabama." 2010's "Born Free" also charted well at number five, an album that featured a number of artists, including Bob Seger, Trace Adkins, Zac Brown, Sheryl Crow and T.I. Kid Rock continued to tour relentlessly, not returning to the studio until 2012, for "Rebel Soul."

Live reviews

Robert James Ritchie, better known by his stage name of Kid Rock has amassed huge commercial success during his rap-rock career, having sold over 25 million albums globally. His energetic, genre hopping live show has also accumulated a similarly lofty reputation and Ritchie shows no sign of slowing down his touring schedule.

A bombastic live performer, the stage lights go down and the bass kicks in to 'Rock N Roll Jesus' as Kid Rock steps out to his loyal followers and demands deafening cheers before he begins this fan favourite. With his guitar in hand and slick backing band, he quickly runs through hits such as 'American Bad Ass' and 'Lowlife (Living the Highlife)'. Arrogance is clearly at the heart of both Ritchie's music and stage persona, yet he performs with such a level of self-assuredness that the audience cannot help but to play to his egotistical demeanour. It is a fun experience altogether as Robert jeers at the audience to scream louder.

They need no encouragement during biggest international hit 'All Summer Long'. A blistering live version of 'This Little Light of Mine ' wraps up an intense show by this modern-day rap/rock icon.

Are you kidding me! He was absolutely phonominal as usual. I have now seen him 16 times. His audience ranges from 9 yr. Olds, to 90 yr. Olds. And I guarantee not one person will walk out from one of his shows disappointed! Even if you don't like his music, (which would be hard not to, since he plays such a wide variety) he is a great entertainer. He has a passion for what he does, he loves his country, and he loves his fans, and it shows! Bob is a good man, a hard worker, and has so much talent. It will be extremely hard finding anybody that can fill his shoes. I thank God for Kid Rock! And thank him for making music that is good for my soul. But don't take my word for it, go to a show and see for yourself, you might be surprised!

I saw Kid for the first time at the Fargodome while touring with Bob Seger…fucking killer show…was super hyped that he was going to be in Minot at the North Dakota state fair with Night Ranger, who kicked ass. Unfortunately, due to “high winds” (which is still bullshit to this very day), KR did not perform. I really hope he plans to come back and do a make up show in the very near future. It’s unfortunate that there had to be a handful of idiots that decided to be stupid, start throwing shit at the stage, law enforcement, security, and getting on stage with plans to do damage to whatever they could get their hands on, which fortunately did not happen.

I LOVE Kid Rock! I have seen him several times, and it never gets old. The energy from a KR show is crazy. The crowd is on their feet the entire show. He really knows how to work a crowd, energize the arena. He performs new music as well as his old school. His band, The Twisted Brown Trucker Band is amazing! They always put on a great show. It doesn't matter if it is a smaller venue, like the Ryman in Nashville, or an outdoor venue like the Beale street music festival. Kid Rock kills it at every event! I can't wait to see him again in August & October! Always a great show! True performer!

Awesome show he put in a solid 2 hours of a good, old fashioned rock show. Great talent backing him up. 1000 thousand were excellent. My issue was venue is worst I have been to. We had tickets and it was a 2 hr wait to get in and another thirty minute line for merch. My wife and I bought nothing to drink since the lines for that was another 1hr and if you had to go pee it was a fifteen minute line.

My first time finally getting to see Kid Rock last September 2nd in Raleigh NC. I can't even begin to describe what an awesome show he puts on. I have wanted to see him the last 3 times he was around. So I wasn't sure if he could live up to the hype I had built up for him. He delivered and then some. I will be at the next one near or not so near me. Love this guy.

Thanks for the heart ache Kid Rock.

Kid Rock Announces 4-Date No Snowflakes Tour with Travis Tritt and More

by Lisa Konicki March 7, 2023, 2:57 pm

Kid Rock is hitting the road this summer for a handful of dates and he’s banning all snowflakes.

Videos by American Songwriter

The singer announced his upcoming run of dates, titled No Snowflakes Tour, on Monday (March 6). The limited will include special guests Travis Tritt, Chris Janson, Marcus King, and Grand Funk Railroad for each of the 4 nights. With only four dates announced, the summer trek kicks off on Friday, June 23 in Austin, Texas, making stops in Fort Worth, and Nashville before concluding in Detroit on July 14.

Besides being a single ice crystal that falls through the Earth’s atmosphere, which Kid Rock is not referring to, a snowflake in slang terms, is a derogatory term for a person who is overly emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions.

The rocker took to social media to share the news:

“2023 ARENA DATES THE FOUR-CITY LIMITED RUN WILL FEATURE DIFFERENT SPECIAL GUESTS ON EACH NIGHT: CHRIS JANSON, MARCUS KING, TRAVIS TRITT, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD.”

Tickets for artist presale go on sale Tuesday, March 7, with general tickets available on Friday, March 10 at 10 am local time.

Kid Rock to play Detroit's Little Caesars Arena, his first show at the arena in 6 years

kid rock tour dates for 2023

Kid Rock is headed home to Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, the venue he helped launch in 2017.

The Michigan-born rap-rocker will play LCA on July 14, joined by fellow Michigan act Grand Funk Railroad. It’s part of a four-city arena run that will include dates in Austin (June 23 with Chris Janson), Fort Worth (June 24 with Marcus King) and Nashville (July 1 with Travis Tritt).

Tickets for all four Kid Rock concerts will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. A fan club presale will start Tuesday.

This summer’s shows come a year after Rock indicated he was ready to scale back his touring pace .

Kid Rock shows: Kid Rock vows he'll cancel tour stops at venues with COVID vaccination, mask mandates

When Rock blanketed the U.S. on his Bad Reputation Tour in 2022, he told audiences it was likely his final major outing. At 51, he’d been performing for three decades, and between chronic neck pain and a pair of young grandchildren back in Tennessee, he was eager to wind things down.

Still, he didn’t rule out future concert dates altogether.

“You never know what the future holds,” he told a Pine Knob crowd last September. “But if we do a few events a year, it’d be a pretty safe bet that something will be in Michigan.”

Kid Rock’s show at LCA is his first there since he opened the arena with a six-night stand in September 2017. The run was a resounding box-office success, selling out and drawing nearly 87,000 concertgoers, though it was met with picketing from activists unhappy with the selection of Rock, a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump .

The new arena included a Kid Rock-themed restaurant sporting his name and memorabilia, but that licensing deal was severed in 2019 amid ongoing controversy surrounding Rock’s public persona. The space now houses an eatery called the Mixing Board.

Kid Rock Puts Four No Snowflakes Concert Dates on the Books for Summer 2023

Kid Rock is headed out on the road in June and July for a brief run of dates. On Monday (March 6), the singer announced shows in four cities, including a stop at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena and a hometown show in his native Detroit.

Billed as the No Snowflakes Summer Concert, the four-date run will feature a different special guest in each city. Chris Janson is up first, joining Rock in Austin, Texas, and Marcus King , Travis Tritt and Michigan rock act Grand Funk Railroad will follow.

Find Tickets to Kid Rock's Upcoming Shows

It's unclear why Rock chose to perform under the "No Snowflakes" banner for this particular string of shows, though his distaste for liberal, "easily offended" millennials is longstanding and well-documented. In late 2021, his song " Don't Tell Me How to Live " expressed his vitriol toward "cancel culture," "fake news" and more topical politicized buzzwords — including "snowflake."

The No Snowflakes Summer Concert announcement follows last year's Bad Reputation Tour , which Rock wrapped in September. Grand Funk Railroad also joined the bill of that trek. As is his wont, Rock enlisted a blend of country and rock acts for the tour, and he's continuing that trend this time around as he pulls a mix of country traditionalists, outsiders and rockers to join him for his four-date summer 2023 jaunt.

When "Don't Tell Me How to Live" arrived in 2021, the Detroit Free Press reported that it was the first release off of an ambitious, 50-track triple album that was in the works from Rock. That project set out to deliver 10 hip-hop songs, 10 rock songs and 10 country songs, plus 20 unreleased tracks. That album has yet to materialize, though the singer did release Bad Reputation  — an 18-track Southern rock and country album with political and pro-Donald Trump lyrical overtones — in March 2022.

Tickets to the No Snowflakes Summer Concert dates go on sale Friday (March 10). Artist and venue pre-sales will be available throughout the week leading up to the on-sale date.

Travis tritt, trending on billboard.

In 2022, Kid Rock earned a chart leader on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart with “We the People.” The song marked his first No. 1 on that chart, following his No. 2 hit “Don’t Tell Me How to Live,” featuring the rock band Monster Truck. “People” also topped the all-format Digital Song Sales chart, Rock Digital Song Sales chart and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, marking his first No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales and Rock Digital Song Sales charts.

In addition to music, Kid Rock is known for his conservative politics. The No Snowflakes Tour takes its name from the derogatory phrase “snowflake,” which was popularized by the 1996 novel and 1999 movie Fight Club , which includes the line to aspiring fighters: “You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake.”

The term “snowflake” later took on a political nature around the time of the 2016 election of Donald Trump, who opened the musician’s 2022 tour with a video message . Kid Rock also includes the term “snowflake” in the lyrics for “Don’t Tell Me How to Live.”

kid rock tour dates for 2023

There are some extra special people that come into your life and Donna Yakes was at the top of that list. She and her husband Tom are my son's Godparents. But Donna and her family were so much more than that. They looked after my son often (and many times myself) and made it possible for me to pursue my career, especially in the early days, when I was making very little money, playing small clubs and working on music as much as possible. Donna had a heart of gold and was the ultimate homemaker and nurturer. I will forever be indebted to her and her family and will FOREVER cherish her smile, her laugh, her pranks, her cooking, our gatherings and always being there for us. I know there is a special place in heaven for people like her. Rest in peace Donna, I love you with all my heart. Bob Ritchie / Kid Rock.

Kid Rock 2023 Tour Dates

The kid rock tour itself.

Although it is actually by definition a tour, rocker Kid Rock has announced a small handful of dates (so far) for his 2023 No Snowflakes Summer Concert Tour . Four shows have already been announced, each with it’s own opening act. Appearing at special guests on this Kid Rock Tour 2023 includes big names such as Chris Janson, Marcus King, Travis Tritt, and Grand Funk Railroad. Who Is Kid Rock

Kid Rock is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter who has been active in the music industry for over three decades. First and foremost, he is known for his unique style of music that blends elements of rock, hip-hop, and country. Additionally, Kid Rock has also gained notoriety for his controversial public persona and political views. To begin with, Kid Rock rose to fame in the late 1990s with hits like “Bawitdaba” and “Cowboy.” He quickly gained a following for his high-energy performances and distinctive sound. Moreover, Kid Rock’s music often features lyrics about partying, women, and American pride, which have contributed to his reputation as a rebellious figure.   In recent years, Kid Rock has become increasingly involved in politics, endorsing Republican candidates and making statements about social issues. Consequently, he has drawn criticism from some groups and individuals who disagree with his views. However, Kid Rock has also maintained a devoted fanbase and continues to release new music and tour regularly.   Look below for all the latest official Kid Rock tour dates , links to look for tickets , not to mention some fan favorite Kid Rock music videos .
