Cameron Mackintosh's production of Boubil and Schönberg’s  LES  MISÉRABLES ARENA SPECTACULAR  will embark on a World Tour this September, opening with strictly limited UK dates. As the beloved musical phenomenon enters it's 40th revolutionary year in London, this spectactular production will have ane extraordinary new design specifically created for larger venues. 

The Arena Spectacular will be performing in over 15 countries and regions worldwide and initial casting has now been announced for the UK dates – Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly will share the role of Jean Valjean and Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will share the role of Javert, leading a cast and orchestra of over 65.

Victor Hugo’s classic tale is an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. With a magnificent score of iconic songs including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own”, “Bring Him Home”, “One Day More” and more, this epic and uplifting story is undisputedly one of the world’s favourite musicals.

Initial casting has been announced for the World Tour Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular opening in September 2024.

The World Tour kicks off at the SAE Arena Belfast on 19 September 2024 featuring a cast and orchestra of over 65.

With Les Mis’ 40th phenomenal year starting this October, there couldn’t be a better time for it to happen. A dream concert deserves a dream cast and I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that the first UK leg of the tour, which opens in Belfast in September and is already more than two thirds sold out, will star Alfie Boe or Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and Michael Ball or Bradley Jaden as Javert, heading a cast and orchestra of over 65. Many other favourite Les Misérables performers, chosen from all over the world, will be announced in a few weeks’ time. After the UK, the world tour will play many cities across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Korea, Japan and several other Asian cities before it returns to Europe and beyond. Cast for Les Misérables arena tour announced

The show will play across the world, with a select number of UK dates

Initial casting has been revealed for the world tour of Les Misérables the Arena Spectacular.

The production will have an extraordinary new design specifically created for arenas (and large theatres) with audiences of between 3,000 to 5,000. A UK company of over 110 actors, musicians and crew will feature, with guest stars appearing at various stops. It is expanded from the concert staging of the show seen in the West End, where it played across 2019. 

The long-running musical is based on the novel by Victor Hugo and features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, additional material by James Fenton and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. It tells the tale of a former convict who tries to find salvation in revolutionary France.

The tour will open at the S S E Arena Belfast on 1 9 September 2024 , where it will play until 2 8 September 2024 . F oll o wing B elfa s t, the pr oduction will play li mited dates at Glasgow ’ s S S E Hyd ro Arena from 3 to 6   October , Sheffield ’ s Util ita Are na from 10 to 13 October and Aberdeen ’ s P & J Live Arena from 1 7 to 20 O ctober .

Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly will share the role of Jean Valjean and Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will share the role of Javert in the UK.

It will then c ommence its European leg in Luxembou rg fr om 2 5 to 27 Octo b er, f ol lowed by Geneva, Trieste, Milan , Copenhagen, Oslo and Zurich . Its final UK dates will be in Manchester at the AO Arena on 2 6 to 29 December and at the Util ita Are na, Ne wcastle from 2 to  5 January 2025 before moving o n to S w eden, Au stralia, Taiwan, Japa n and S outh Korea .

T ickets go on general sale Thursday 12 October 2023 for the UK dates and some European dates . Priority booking will be available from tomorrow. The concert will run through out the upcomi ng 40 th anniversary celebrations for the musical in 2025 . A fter that, it will play both N orth and S o uth A merica .

Leading the cast, multi-platinum selling recording artist Alfie Boe OBE and acclaimed actor Killian Donnelly will share the iconic role of Jean Valjean, while the role of the relentless Javert will be portrayed by the incomparable Michael Ball and the talented Bradley Jaden in the UK.

Cameron Mackintosh, is delighted to announce initial dates and venues for the World Tour of  LES MISÉRABLES –  THE ARENA SPECTACULAR. 

This production will have an extraordinary new design specifically created for arenas (and large theatres) with audiences of between 3,000 – 5,000.  

This spectacular production will have a UK company of over 110 actors, musicians and crew featuring a core cast with a great number of celebrated Les Mis guest stars appearing as their schedules allow.

The World tour will open in Belfast . Following this, the production will play limited dates at Glasgow , Sheffield and Aberdeen . The Tour will then commence its European leg in Luxembourg , followed by Geneva , Trieste , Milan , Copenhagen , Oslo and Zurich . Its final UK dates will be in Manchester and Newcastle before moving on to Sweden , Australia , Taiwan , Japan and South Korea .

WHAT IS LES MISÉRABLES ABOUT?

“I dreamed a dream in time gone by, when hope was high and life worth living. I dreamed that love would never die. I dreamed that God would be forgiving.”

The year is 1832. Jean Valjean, a French peasant who stole a loaf of bread and ended up spending 19 years in gaol for his trouble, is living to regret it. Then he goes and jumps parole which doesn’t go down well with Javert, a particularly jobsworth cop who, with his unshakeable belief in the letter of the law, obsessively hounds Valjean until… well, if you want the whole story, read Victor Hugo’s novel. No? You prefer your French classics delivered in the form of a musical and theatrical triumph? Now you’re talking.

Because, thanks to the creative team that includes composer Claude-Michel Shönberg and writer Alain Boublil , and songs including One Day More , I Dreamed a Dream and Do You Hear the People Sing? that’s exactly what ‘Les Mis’ is.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Boublil and Schönberg’s LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA SPECTACULAR will embark on a World Tour this September, opening with strictly limited UK dates. As the beloved musical phenomenon enters its 40 th revolutionary year in London, this spectacular production will have an extraordinary new design specifically created for larger venues.

The Arena Spectacular will be performing in over 15 countries and regions worldwide and initial casting has now been announced for the UK dates – Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly will share the role of Jean Valjean and Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will share the role of Javert, leading a cast and orchestra of over 65.

Victor Hugo’s classic tale is an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. With a magnificent score of iconic songs including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own”, “Bring Him Home”, “One Day More” and more, this epic and uplifting story is undisputedly one of the world’s favourite musicals.

Further casting to be announced. Les Misérables will feature a core cast with a great number of celebrated Les Mis guest stars appearing as their schedules allow. Please note that the appearance of any artist is not guaranteed and is subject to change without notice.

Paris Olympics: See the venues of the Summer Games

The Olympics will transform Paris, with dozens of competitions and events expected to draw huge crowds to one of the world’s most iconic cities. Take a tour of some of the Games’ more noteworthy venues.

The River Seine, which flows through the heart of Paris, will be a central location throughout the Games.

The Seine will be the site of the opening ceremony on July 26, when 10,000 athletes aboard more than 160 boats will parade on the water in front of crowds of up to 300,000. In the following weeks, swimming, triathlon, 3-on-3 basketball, skateboarding and gymnastics competitions will also be held at venues along the river.

Beach volleyball will be played at a temporary stadium, currently under construction, in the Champ de Mars near the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower Stadium will offer a spectacular view of one of Paris’ most iconic landmarks.

Judo and wrestling competitions will take place at a temporary arena in the Champ de Mars.

The arena will be dismantled after the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Olympic village lies along the Seine’s northern bank and will house more than 20,000 athletes during the Olympics and Paralympic Games combined.

The village is located about a mile away from Stade de France, which will serve as the main Olympic stadium and host major events such as rugby, shot put and track and field.

The Roland Garros Stadium, built in 1928 in western Paris, is traditionally the home of the annual French Open tennis tournament.

During the Paris Olympics, the Roland Garros will host tennis, boxing, wheelchair tennis and sitting volleyball competitions.

The Olympics are not limited to Paris, as events will take place in other French cities, too. Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes and Nice will host soccer games. Sailing competitions will take place at the Marseille marina, and Villeneuve-d’Ascq in northern France will host basketball and handball competitions.

The farthest event of the Games will take place almost 10,000 miles away, in the French Polynesian island of Tahiti.

Teahupo’o, which is home to some of the biggest waves on the planet, will host surfing competitions.

Shakira Announces Dates For 2024 N. American Las Mujeres No Lloran Fall Arena Tour

After telling fans during her Coachella performance with Bizarrap last weekend that she would be touring this year, Shakira has announced the first leg of her 2024 Live Nation-promoted North American tour.

Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour - named in honor of her new album of the same name - will play 14 arena shows across North America, beginning Nov. 2 in Palm Desert, California, and ending December 15 in Detroit, Michigan. Tickets for the tour will be available beginning Wednesday (April 17) via a Citi presale, with an artist presale beginning on Friday (April 19) at 10 am. The general onsale begins on April 22 at 10 a.m. local time here .

This is Shakira's first tour since her 2018 El Dorado World Tour, which took her to stadiums and arenas around the world. Shakira first hinted that she would be touring this year during her Q&A at Billboard Latin Music Week and her Billboard cover story last October. At the time, she said she would "definitely" tour in 2024, but provided no details.

Then, last month, following the release of Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran , she performed in New York City's Times Square for a crowd of more than 40,000 fans. During her new tour, Shakira is expected to perform her new hits, as well as her iconic global chart stoppers. Find all announced dates below:

Pour améliorer le quotidien des quelque 200.000 non-voyants en France, la septuagénaire fait remonter les difficultés concrètes qu'architectes et concepteurs n'avaient pas anticipées.

Car les organisateurs attendent des dizaines de milliers de personnes handicapées dans le public des Jeux olympiques (26 juillet - 11 août) et paralympiques (28 août - 8 septembre), sans compter les 4.300 athlètes qui participent à ces derniers.

Cet événement est l'occasion de donner un coup d'accélérateur à l'accessibilité, clé pour l'inclusion, mais aussi pour adapter la société à une population vieillissante.

Métro en direction d'Arena Bercy (sud-est de Paris), où se tiendront les épreuves de basket. "Mara, cherche la porte", lance Bernadette Pilloy. La chienne en laisse la guide vers l'ouverture de la rame. "Mara, cherche un siège". La chienne trouve un strapontin et place sa tête dessus.

- "Nous ne les verrons pas!" -

La rame n'annonce pas les stations. "Je compte sur mes doigts. Onze stations". Elle a, comme toujours, planifié son déplacement avec une appli payante spécifique.

"On nous a promis que les métros seraient vocalisés, puis on nous a dit que ce serait impossible. Seules les rames les plus modernes +parlent+", regrette la septuagénaire.

A la station suivante, le trafic est interrompu par un incident, les passagers doivent sortir. Lorsqu'elle est perdue, la voyageuse s'exclame: "Y aura-t-il quelqu'un de gentil pour m'aider?"

Arrivée sur le quai de la station Bercy, vers quel côté sortir pour rejoindre l'Arena?

La chienne la guide vers un escalier. Est-ce le bon? Bernadette tâte autour d'elle et détecte un panneau. Elle sort de sa poche son iPhone. L'appli "Seeing AI" lui "lit" le panneau.

"Etre autonome, c'est ne pas peser sur ses proches, ne pas avoir besoin qu'ils viennent avec moi", explique cette mère de cinq enfants et grand-mère de 11 petits-enfants, mariée depuis 52 ans à un homme voyant.

A la sortie du métro, comment trouver l'Arena? "Il y aura des volontaires, 30.000, spécialement formés pour aider les personnes handicapées. J'ai dû expliquer lors des réunions que c'était à eux de nous repérer...car nous ne les verrons pas!".

Ces volontaires formés au handicap seront recrutés pour la période des Jeux, mais Bernadette Pilloy veut croire que cette formation leur sera utile dans leur profession future.

- Le tramway "parle" -

Et maintenant, en bus, direction Roland-Garros (sud-ouest), qui accueillera boxe et tennis. C'est nettement mieux.

Tous les bus parisiens annoncent les stations et des endroits sont prévus pour les fauteuils roulants. Mais lorsqu'il y a du monde, ces places ne sont plus accessibles, relève Bernadette Pilloy.

Elle teste ensuite le tramway, pour aller à Arena La Chapelle (nord), le site où se dérouleront les épreuves de para-badminton. Le chien détecte la "bande d'éveil à la vigilance" (des picots), qui indique le passage qui traverse les voies. Le chien lui trouve la porte, un siège. "Le tramway +parle+ et est extrêmement accessible", se réjouit-elle.

Pour cette membre de la Commission nationale consultative des droits de l'Homme (CNCDH), pouvoir se déplacer, "c'est avoir un accès réel aux droits: à l'éducation, à la santé, au sport, à la justice..."

Membre également du Conseil national consultatif des personnes handicapées (CNCPH), elle vient à Paris depuis Elancourt (Yvelines), où elle vit, plusieurs fois par semaine pour des réunions.

Des Jeux, elle espère un "changement de regard sur les personnes handicapées, une acceptation plus grande de leur présence". "On va les voir dans la rue, les stades, les salles de sport. Là où sont tous les autres citoyens".

The 25 Concert Tours You Can’t Afford to Miss This Summer

From the stones to j. lo, pearl jam, journey, foo fighters and robert plant, it’s all about big shows and big stars. grab your tickets now.

After a massive slump during COVID , the concert industry is again sh-boom, sh-booming! The gross for the top 100 North American tours in 2023 reached $6.63 billion, up 39.5 percent over 2022, with attendance nearly doubling, to 15,008 per show, according to Pollstar.

And this year is shaping up to be another box office blowout. Despite the national outrage over price spikes for eggs, airfare and gas , music lovers seem immune to ticket shock. Ticket prices climbed 22 percent last year, to an average of $135.88, compared to $111.49 in 2022. And the trend is pointing skyward.

Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour and Beyonce’s “Renaissance World” tour ranked first and second last year, but boomer acts remain the tour circuit’s lucrative and reliable summer tentpole, delivering packed arenas and sheds year after year as fans flock to relish the oldies and rekindle the past.

Here are the acts to catch this sunny season.

​Heart (April 20–May 24, Aug. 10–Nov. 22)

Sisters Ann Wilson, 73, and Nancy Wilson, 70, haven’t released an album since 2016’s Beautiful Broken , but they have decades of hits, including “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “These Dreams” and “Alone,” to draw from on their “Royal Flush” tour . Cheap Trick opens.

Kenny Chesney (April 20–Aug. 23)

After hitting arenas last year, country star Chesney, 56, has booked 18 stadiums for shows with openers including the Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker, his duet partner on chart-topper “When the Sun Goes Down.” All but one of the shows are on Saturdays.

​Billy Joel (April 26–Nov. 9)

The Piano Man, 74, has scheduled only 13 dates , four of them at New York’s Madison Square Garden, so ticket stampedes are likely. Fans are curious to know if “Turn the Lights Back On,” Joel’s first single in 17 years, will be added to his hit-heavy repertoire.

​The Rolling Stones (April 28–July 17)

Mick Jagger , 80, Keith Richards, 80, Ron Wood, 76, and company continue their global “Hackney Diamonds” tour , named after last year’s highly praised album , the group’s first batch of originals since 2005’s  A Bigger Bang . Expect  Diamonds  cuts and lots of hits.

​Stevie Nicks (May 3–June 21)

Between Fleetwood Mac’s songbook and her own solo catalog, singer-songwriter Nicks, 75, has a huge well of material to draw from as she extends a tour that started in February. She’s been performing crowd favorites “Landslide,” “Dreams,” “Rhiannon” and “Edge of Seventeen” as well as Tom Petty hits in honor of her late friend.

George Strait (May 4–July 20, Dec. 7)

A touring juggernaut, honky-tonk country singer-songwriter Strait, 71, resumes the record-breaking stadium tour he kicked off in 2023. He’s joined by Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town. The King of Country serves up “his own Eras tour, leading a well-curated, decades-spanning set of songs,” according to  Billboard .

​Roger Daltrey (May 6, June 10–29)

Daltrey, 80, the Who’s charismatic singer, headlines a solo electric and acoustic tour that showcases the British band’s songs, tunes from his own catalog and personal stories. KT Tunstall, Dan Bern and Leslie Mendelson rotate opening slots.

Pearl Jam (May 10–May 30, Aug. 22–Sept. 9)

​Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire (May 15–Sept. 7)

Lionel Richie (May 23–June 16)

After selling out 2023’s “Sing a Song All Night Long” tour, the soul-pop superstar, 74, returns for another 13 dates , performing solo hits “Hello,” “Dancing on the Ceiling” and “All Night Long” as well as such Commodores classics as “Easy,” “Brick House” and “Three Times a Lady.” With Earth, Wind & Fire ("September," "Boogie Wonderland").

​Red Hot Chili Peppers (May 28–July 30)

The California funk-rock quartet’s exhaustive “Unlimited Love” tour began in 2022 to celebrate that year’s pair of number 1 albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen . Shows have been a mix of hits and covers of Funkadelic, the Clash, Elton John and others.

​Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (June 2–Sept. 1)

The unlikely duo of the former Led Zeppelin wailer, 75, and bluegrass/country queen, 52, take their eclectic Americana duets on the road . JD McPherson opens the shows and also plays guitar in the band. Plant and Krauss first linked talents for the hit 2007 album  Raising Sand , with a second collaboration,  Raise the Roof , arriving in 2021.

Janet Jackson (June 4–July 30)

The R&B/pop singer, 57, best known for “Control,” “Nasty,” “Miss You Much” and precision choreography, extends her 2023 “Together Again” tour with 35 dates in amphitheaters and arenas. Nelly (“Not in Herre”) opens.

​Alanis Morissette (June 9–Aug. 10)

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of her Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie album, the alt-rock singer, who turns 50 on June 1, is staging the “Triple Moon” tour , featuring guests Joan Jett, 65, and the Blackhearts and Morgan Wade. The album’s standout “Thank U” is likely on the set list, along with Jagged Little Pill selections.

​Foreigner and Styx (June 11–Aug. 28)

Ten years after linking up for their “Soundtrack of Summer” trek, vintage rock bands Foreigner (“Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “I Want to Know What Love Is”) and Styx (“Come Sail Away,” “Lady,” “Mr. Roboto”) are together again for a classic rock showdown they’re calling the “Renegades and Juke Box Heroes” tour. John Waite, 71, is the opener.

Blink-182 (June 20–Aug. 13)

The high-energy pop-punk band, featuring Mark Hoppus, 52, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker, will play stadiums and arenas in support of their album  One More Time…  Dubbed the “Blink-182” tour , it’s a maturity leap from their 1998 outing, the “PooPoo PeePee” tour.

Jennifer Lopez (June 26–Aug. 17)

The “This Is Me … Live: The Greatest Hits” tour , the first outing for J. Lo, 54, since 2019, celebrates her past while also serving up fresh cuts from her February studio album,  This Is Me … Now,  released along with companion films This Is Me … Now: A Love Story and The Greatest Love Story Never Told .

​Journey and Def Leppard (July 6–Sept. 8)

Journey, whose 18-times-platinum “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” was recently crowned the biggest song of all time, co-headlines with fellow legacy rock band Def Leppard on a stadium tour , with rotating guests Heart, the Steve Miller Band and Cheap Trick.

Jewel and Melissa Etheridge (July 11–Oct. 5)

Jewel, 50 on May 23, and Etheridge , 62, team up for a co-headlining tour that spans their catalogs, with emphasis on their ’90s peaks. Jewel will dip into 2022’s  Freewheelin’ Woman , and Etheridge, coming off her “I’m Not Broken” tour , revives “Come to My Window” and “I’m the Only One.”

The Pretenders (July 13–Aug. 14)

The British-American rock band, led by original members Chrissie Hynde , 72, and Martin Chambers, 72, will launch a sprawling world tour to promote last September’s release of their album  Relentless . The set list also dives into a deep bag of hits that include “Brass in Pocket,” “My City Was Gone,” “I’ll Stand by You” and “Precious.”

Foo Fighters (July 17–Aug. 18, May 1–9)

In their biggest headlining U.S. shows so far, the Foo Fighters will play stadiums on their “Everything or Nothing at All” tour , with rotating support acts that include the Hives, L7 and the Pretenders. In 2023, the Seattle band, led by Nirvana member Dave Grohl, 55, released  But Here We Are , its first studio album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.

Green Day (July 29–Sept. 28)

The punk trio takes on stadiums in its extensive “Saviors” tour , named after the new album that spawned “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Look Ma, No Brains!” Openers include Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid.

Pink (Aug. 10–Nov. 23)

The rock belter’s “Summer Carnival” tour , which began last year, covers a wide range of material, from hits “So What,” “Get the Party Started” and “Who Knew” to the title track from her latest album,  Trustfall,  to such covers as Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” and Janis Joplin’s signature tune “Me and Bobby McGee.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (Aug. 15–Sept. 15)

Many 2023 tour dates were postponed when the Boss called in sick with peptic ulcer disease and E Street members got COVID. Springsteen, 74, is back at work and promising a wider selection of songs than the fairly static set list played earlier in the tour .

​Crowded House (Aug. 29–Sept. 28)

The Australian rock band, best known for “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Something So Strong,” will launch its “Gravity Stairs” tour to support its eighth studio album, Gravity Stairs , out May 31. In 2019, a reshuffled lineup added original producer Mitchell Froom and founding member Neil Finn’s sons Liam and Elroy to the lineup.

Shakira is going on a 2024 world tour. Here's what you need to know

International pop star Shakira announced at Coachella that she will be going on tour.

International pop sensation Shakira has officially revealed the first dates for her highly anticipated "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" World Tour.

The tour , described by the artist as a celebration for her "wolfpack," will begin with a North American leg, promising fans an intimate concert experience.

"I’m so thrilled to announce the first dates for my LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR, a celebration for my wolfpack!" Shakira said in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

The tour kicks off on the West Coast Nov. 2, 2024 in Palm Desert, Calif., then heads to Phoenix, Arizona and Inglewood, Calif. The tour then travels to Texas, the East Coast and Canada. The final stop is in Detroit, Mich. on Dec. 15, 2024.

Further tour dates for the global audience are yet to be announced, with the promise of more information coming soon.

The “She Wolf” is coming out of her cage.

For the first time since 2018, Shakira will officially tour North America as part of her upcoming ‘LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR’ (which translates to “women no longer cry”).

Midway through the 14-concert run, the three-time Grammy winner is scheduled to stop in at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday, Dec. 5.

On March 22, Shakira released her 12th studio album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.”

Comprised of 17 tracks featuring big-name collaborators like Cardi B, Bizarrap, Grupo Frontera, Rauw Alejandro, and Ozuna among others, the 47-year-old songstress sticks to español this time around.
