Milow is a singer/songwriter hailing from Borgerhout, Belgium who was born on July 14th, 1981. Since his debut in 2004 he has released five hugely acclaimed studio albums almost completely independently, acting as his own publisher, record label and manager to achieve genuine world-wide success.

Inspired by watching the mighty Pink Floyd perform one of their final live shows at the Rock Werchter festival when he was 12 years old, Jonathan Vandenbroeck began writing his own music on the piano and the guitar when he was 15, with a dream in his heart to one day come back and play the Rock Werchter festival in his own right. After playing in a few bands around high school and in university, he decided to go solo in 2003, taking the stage name Milow to go with it. After playing as many small shows as he could around his native Belgium, he made his first big impression at Humo’s Rock Rally, a talent competition that previously gave the world dEUS. While he didn’t win, he made enough of an impression to self-release his first album “The Bigger Picture” in January 2006, and after Milow’s single “You Don’t Know” became a top three hit on the singles chart, it would eventually became a Gold certified smash hit in his home country.

After his second album “Coming Of Age” was released in 2008 and proved to be another huge success in his home country, a cover of 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake’s “Ayo Technology” that he performed for a Belgian radio station became a surprise hit all over the world. It hit the number one spot on the Belgian, Dutch, Swedish, Swiss and Danish singles charts and had hit the top ten everywhere from Spain to Finland. “Coming Of Age” was re-released all over Europe, going on to sell over half a million copies all over the world, and ever since then, Milow has remained one of the most thrillingly unique and defiantly succesful songwriters of his generation. With the stamp of approval of everyone from Jason Mraz to Kanye West, Milow is a true artist, one that comes highly recommended.

Live reviews

What can I say? Milow live at the AB Cafe in Brussels was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am so glad to have partaken in.

Opening up with Ayo Technology, the show erupted into a charismatic powerhouse. The crowd immediately was clapping along in unison as fans screamed, it was truly a sight to behold. The strumming of the acoustic guitars along with Milow's harmonic voice were so clean and uplifting.

The set was a little bit dark and shadowy, but the happy upbeat music contrasted well. The dark blue lights coming from behind the band were pierced by some brighter spotlights and it gave a very cool and peaceful energy to the whole venue. The size of the venue was great, it was pretty small so everybody was mostly up close to the stage so everybody could see the familiar faces of Milow and his great band of musicians as they serenaded the whole crowd into bliss.

Tom Vanstiphout really took the spotlight on the guitar solos. He put so much energy and emotion into them and was flawless in his execution of every note. Overall, this was an amazing experience with such a talented band of fantastic musicians.

Jonathan Vandenbroeck better known by his stage name Milow is perhaps Belgium's best known DIY musician and has gained a huge reputation across Europe for his unique style. He has gained a good amount of chart success across the continent with both his albums and singles yet it is his live show that really is the most revered.

The audience is packed into every space all craning to see the one man spectacle take to the stage. The lights dim and Milow steps out to rapturous applause accompanied by a number of well trained musicians. They carefully dissect his discography at slick speeds whilst the audience watch on in stunned awe only breaking to cheer and applaud at the finale of each song. 'Little in the Middle' and 'We Must Be Crazy' are major highlights tonight as Jonathan demonstrates the way in which he can translate live ability onto a recording and vice versa. An artist with an unarguable amount of talent and a really great, warm fanbase.

Due to ongoing logistical and other challenges impacting our lives at the moment, I’m having to move most of my Fall/Winter tour to the spring of 2023. I love touring so much though today’s circumstances are proving it to be too difficult to tour in a way where we can bring you our best shows.

I’ll still be performing in Belgium & Switzerland as planned. The rest of the dates in France, Austria, Luxemburg, and Germany will be rescheduled to April & May. All tickets will be honored for the newly rescheduled dates or available for refund at point of purchase. I’m so so sorry for any inconvenience this might (and probably will) cause. I hope you know that I wish we didn’t have to do this, but I’m afraid this is completely beyond my control.

Milow ist das Pseudonym des in Belgien geborenen Sängers und Songwriters Jonathan Vandenbroeck. Ein mysteriöser, zufällig gewählter Name, unter dem er gerade sein siebtes Studioalbum „Nice to Meet You“ veröffentlicht hat. Seit seinem Debütalbum „The Bigger Picture“ aus dem Jahr 2006, das mit „You Don’t Know“ einen seiner größten Hits hervorbrachte, hat der unabhängige DIY-Künstler, der seiner eigenen Muse folgt, alle Alben auf seinem eigenen Label Homerun Records veröffentlicht.

„Als jemand, der es gewohnt ist, auf Krisensituationen zu reagieren, war ich vorbereitet, als die Pandemie kam“, sagt Milow, der schon als Kind von Musikinstrumenten umgeben war, in kurzer Zeit Akkordeon, Gitarre und Klavier spielen lernte und mit 15 seinen ersten Song auf Englisch schrieb. „Das war etwas, das ich erkannte. Auch wenn es wie die schlechteste Zeit zum Musizieren aussieht, war es für mich die beste Zeit. Wenn die Dinge am schwierigsten sind, wird es leichter und ich bin am kreativsten.“

„Nice to Meet You“ wurde mit Live-Musikern – darunter sein langjähriger Gitarrist und Tourpartner Tom Vanstiphout – in den berühmten ICP Studios in Brüssel aufgenommen, wobei die Bandmitglieder in einer Blase kampierten, gemeinsam aßen und auf dem Gelände schliefen. Das Album ist ein Gruß an die Außenwelt – der Titeltrack ist ein Loblied auf das Vatersein mit seinen beiden Kindern, 7 und 4 Jahre alt – und das perfekte Gegenmittel für eine Welt, die sich langsam von der Pandemie der letzten zwei Jahre erholt.

„Nach den letzten zwei Jahren wollte ich kein einsames Album mehr machen“, gesteht Milow. „Ich brauchte diese Energie, diese Interaktion, die Kameradschaft, das Feedback. Nicht nur von den Produzenten, sondern auch von den Musikern. Wir waren alle froh, uns zu sehen und uns auszutauschen.“

Auf „Nice to Meet You“ tut Milow genau das, indem er diese Beziehung erneuert und jeden einlädt, der sich ihm anschließen möchte. Angesichts der schönen neuen Welt des Streamings, die die Grenzen zwischen Ländern und Genres aufhebt, wäre es nicht verwunderlich, wenn Milow noch mehr Fans – und Territorien – zu seiner immer größer werdenden Reichweite hinzufügen würde.

New date: milow, unplugged tour.

In 2022, 16 years on from the release of his debut album ‘The Bigger Picture’, Milow returns to his musical roots with an intimate acoustic tour. His latest album ‘Lean Into Me’ marks a return to the singer-songwriter sound of his early days. Already having six albums to his name and songs that are etched in collective memory, Milow continues to win hearts with his warm voice and golden feeling for melody and harmony.

If the distinguished title of “hardest working man in show business” weren’t already assigned to James Brown, then it could just as easily have been awarded to Milow. Since his breakthrough in 2007, the singer-songwriter has developed into one of Europe’s established names. Milow has won no less than 12 MIAs – including for ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Best Solo Artist’ – the most important prizes you can win as a musician in Belgium. In 2019, it was exactly ten years since that Milow made his European breakthrough. To mark the occasion, he treated his fans to an unforgettable live show at a sold-out Lotto Arena in early 2020.

Milow tells an extremely personal tale with his album ‘Lean Into Me’ (2019). Songs like ‘Lay Your Worry Down’, ‘Laura’s Song’ or ‘Michael Jordan’ – about his childhood hero and the complex relationship with his father – are amongst the very best songs of his career. The album brings listeners closer to Milow than ever before.

The man from Leuven already performed several wonderful shows in 2020 and continues in the same vein in 2022. Each evening will see, amongst the well-known and lesser-known gems, a number of brand-new songs from the yet to be released 7th album pass in review. Tracks are reduced to their essence. What remains, are refined songs in which there is even more room for lyrics and emotion. Encompassed by his loyal musical companions – singer-guitarist Tom Vanstiphout (who has also been playing in Bryan Ferry’s live band for several years now) and the phenomenal singer Nina Babet – Milow takes the audience along into his wonderful world on the waves of his trusted sound.

Monino aviation museum tour

The Central Airforce Museum in Monino, some 32km from Moscow is extremely popular among aircraft enthusiasts. Pre-soviet and Soviet planes, helicopters and jets are on display here. The tour price includes cost of transportation by car. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken back by car.
