the ultimate holiday destination

Many people will agree that Spain is one of the best destinations for holidays, in fact, Spain is the second most visited country in the world . We have it all; nice weather, amazing food, spectacular landscapes, a great tourism infrastructure and a huge historical heritage.

Food is a big aspect of  Spanish culture,  our guides will make sure you experience this part of Spain to the fullest. During the trips, participants will get to taste the flagships of Spanish cuisine and visit local wineries.

Spain has likely the best climate in Europe. September to June offer perfect riding conditions. The northern regions are best to visit in the Fall or Spring while the south and the Canary Islands offer 320 days of clear skies per year. We don’t recommend the Summer months since they are too hot for biking and usually crowded.

The best mountain biking locations in Spain

Mountains up to 3500 meters altitude, the mighty Pyrenees and trails alongside the turquoise Mediterranean. Sounds good right? This, in combination with the rough alpine terrain and lush forest trails makes Spain a great mtb location. Add to that, the typical Spanish laid-back atmosphere and you have found the ideal mtb holiday destination. I mean, what more could you wish for? In this post, I will share with you the top 5 best mountain biking locations in Spain. I’ve also written a post which focuses more on the destinations from a holiday perspective .

Girona mountain bike guided rides and tours

Girona Mountain biking

Girona is still an undiscovered spot with a huge amount of trails.

Strange enough Spain is still an undiscovered and unknown mountain bike destination for most mountain bikers. But did you know that Spain has more* trails than the traditional mountain bike havens like France or Italy? It’s also a year-round destination due to the mild winters and alpine summer spots. But where and when to go on your next mtb holiday in Spain?

One of the classic descents near Girona: the Sant Grau 500

The best mountain biking locations for your mtb holiday in Spain

I’ll share with you what I believe are the best mountain biking holiday locations in Spain. From the Southern Sierra Nevada near Malaga and Granada all the way down to the Spanish Pyrenees in Catalonia. At each destination you will encounter the best Spanish trails for both cross country and the more adventurous enduro trails.

Spain is one of the biggest countries in Europe. The country has a multitude of mountain ranges, 14.000+ trails* and not to be forgotten: almost 5000 km of coastline. Therefore, finding the best mountain bike area can be quite strenuous. Personally, I believe an ideal mountain bike destination should have more than just trails. Additionally, the scenery is equally important, trails should be varied, the weather sunny and I do appreciate some sightseeing and/or beach time. Also, the mountain bike area should be easily reachable, as you don’t want to spend your precious time traveling.

Without further ado, in random order: the best mountain biking locations in Spain:

  • Zona Zero (Aínsa) – Spanish Pyrenees
  • The Berguedà / Berga region (covered on my holiday blog)
  • Val d’Aran – Spanish Pyrenees
  • Girona region (& Costa brava)
  • Sierra Nevada & Malaga
  • Sierra de Madrid/ Sierra de Guadarrama

Spanish Pyrenees

The Spanish Pyrenees like its French counterpart offer exceptional mountain bike opportunities. The mountain range stretches from the Bay of Biscay in the west, down to the Mediterranean Sea in the east. This horizontal mountain range extends for more than 400 kilometres and acts as a natural border between Spain and France. The Spanish Pyrenees offer incredible mountain bike opportunities. It is therefore no wonder, that two of the five best mountain biking locations in Spain are located in the Spanish Pyrenees.

The weather in the Spanish Pyrenees

Whereas many people associate the Pyrenees with the French side, you actually can’t compare the Spanish Pyrenees with its neighbour. The main reason is the difference in weather conditions. The weather varies significantly across the Pyrenean range. The general rule of thumb is that the west (Basque country) is wet and the eastern part is much dryer. Next to this, the Spanish Pyrenees are considerably warmer than the French side.

For example, the average annual rainfall in Bilbao and San Sebastian (both Basque country) is respectively 1200 and 1500mm. In the middle (Ainsa, Zona Zero) and in the east (Figueres) it’s around 660mm. So if you want to lower the chance of a rainy day I would advise you to plan your trip to the middle or eastern Pyrenees.

Recommended areas

For me, and I guess most of us, a mtb holiday in Spain should contain plenty of dry days, sun and a moderate temperature. So therefore I focus on the middle and eastern part of the Pyrenees. Sure, don’t get me wrong: the Basque area is beautiful, green and has a rough coast with plenty of trails. But the weather can change instantly, it can be cold(er) and the chances to get soaked to the bones is higher, so why take your chances?

1. Zona Zero / Aínsa

Let’s start with the best-known mountain bike destination in Spain: Zona Zero with its base in Aínsa. Aínsa is a small picturesque town at an altitude of 500m and is the perfect base for your next enduro mtb holiday. It has plenty of hotels, campsites, Airbnb’s and the town has the typical tourist outdoor vibe. Everywhere you look you’ll see mountain bikers, hikers and active families looking for their next adventure. Zona Zero is with ease, one of the best mountain biking locations in Spain.

Mountain biking in Zona Zero

What makes Zona Zero so special? Well, it’s the fact that it’s one of the few places in Spain with a dozen well marked enduro routes leaving directly from the village. Shuttles can bring you to the higher located trailheads, starting at around 2000m. Combine this with the awesome scenery of the lower and higher Pyrenees and you have a formula for success.

For more information: visit the zona zero website .

2. Val d’Aran

Despite the somewhat secluded location of Val d’Aran – and the time needed to reach it – I still want to include this hidden gem in my list of best mountain biking locations in Spain. Maybe the “hidden” is already a bit outdated as this enduro mountain bike spot has appeared on the radar of an increasing amount of magazines.

The area Val d’Aran is well-known within the skiing scene. However, in the last few years it’s also making a name in the mountain bike scene. The 2 main hubs are the towns of Vielha and Baqueira, which are situated at around 1000m altitude. And as to be expected from an established skiing area, the towns host plenty of bars, restaurants and your local bike shop. But back to mountain biking…

Mountain biking in Val d’Aran

The main reason to visit this area are the views and the feeling you’re in a hidden valley. As around 30% of the Val d’Aran is above 2000m altitude. Adding to this, it’s surrounded by the highest peaks of the Pyrenees providing amazing panoramic views. The highest peak of the Pyrenees, the Aneto (3404m), is just around the corner and is the third highest mountain of Spain. As mentioned, the region is actively expanding their reputation and adding new trails each year as they started their own trail association: AranBikeParks

The signature trail is the Entecada trail , running for almost 7km with a vertical drop of more than 1100 meters! If you start from Vielha you can paddle up, but a shuttle would be recommended. Even with the shuttle you still need to paddle for about 500m vertical meters, making the descent even more deserved. It’s a classic alpine route. The descent starts at a narrow trail running through a grass field with stunning panoramic views. Soon enough it becomes more technical with rocky sections and some exposure. The final part is more flowy and runs through the forest, this trail has all the ingredients you could wish for.

The two main areas are called “Val d’Aran Mountain Bike Park” and “Enduromies”. These two areas can be visited/connected in a single day.

3. Girona region & Costa Brava

My take on the Girona region is that it will grow into a known mountain bike destination in the upcoming years. While still unknown to the masses, this province hosts without a doubt one of the most diverse mountain bike areas in Spain and Europe. Here you can combine the high Pyrenees, medium size mountain ranges and Mediterranean trails all within a week’s holiday. Fancying an alternating day between climbing and descending: there are multiple possibilities for 300m ascents and descents. Want to have long descents of 800+ meters? No problem, the Pyrenees are around the corner.

Mountain biking in the Girona region & Costa Brava

Around the city of Girona you will find enough trails to keep you busy for a few weeks. This is mostly thanks to the Les Gavarres at the doorstep of the city. Furthermore, to the east you will find the Cap de Creus peninsula , a protected natural reserve with jaw dropping views. In the north and within just an hour from Girona, the Pyrenees start. The lower Pyrenees is where you find the European Enduro World Series stages of Les Salines. Just a bit further down the road, the rougher alpine feeling starts.

mountain bike tours spain

The weather in the Girona region & Costa Brava

It won’t come as a surprise that in the Girona region you can find a huge variety of different surfaces and conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions you can always find perfect trails. The Girona region is ridable all year round, winters are mild with around 12 degrees. What makes this region so appealing is that during summertime you can escape the heat by staying in the Pyrenees. The ideal season runs from early March to end of June and September to end of November. The attractive climate adds to Girona’s appeal as one of the best mountain biking locations in Spain.

Girona beyond the trails

You won’t be disappointed by the cultural and dining options around Girona either. For instance, the inner city has a beautiful medieval old town with plenty of small cobbled alleys and picturesque squares all packed with restaurants and bars. The old cathedral even appeared in a few episodes of Game of Thrones. To explore it’s beauty you can check out the Girona street Instagram account . In addition, the Mediterranean Sea is just 30 minutes away. Also, if you feel like going on a big city tour: Barcelona is just 40 minutes away by train

In conclusion, the power of Girona is found in the abundance of options in the area. From the city centre you ride into Les Gavarres filled with off the beaten path trails. For some variety you can also take a trip to the Pyrenees or head down to explore the beautiful coastline. With Girona as your base, there is no doubt you will have an awesome time mountain biking in Spain. But the best thing about Girona is that it is not just about amazing trails. You can also enjoy a day relaxing on the beach, sightseeing and not unimportant: get a taste of the Spanish lifestyle with a nice cold caña (small glass of beer) and some tapas. Add a large selection of accommodations to the mix and it is clear why Girona is an excellent choice for your next mtb holiday in Spain.

Descending the Puig de l'Àligatranslate trail near Roses

4. Sierra Nevada & Malaga

Close to the Mediterranean and a perfect winter destination; this South Spanish mountain bike destination packs it all. Located around the highest mountain peak of the Iberian Peninsula – the Mulhacén at 3.482m – the Sierra Nevada provides all kind of trails, from beginner to expert. Nature varies depending on the altitude you are at, from lushly forests to alpine wastelands. In winter time you will be biking more near Malaga and the lower sections of the Sierra Nevada. Obviously, because of its location, the “greenness” of the surroundings is way less than of e.g. the Girona and Pyrenees area. Nevertheless, this region deserves to be in the list of the top 5 best mountain biking locations in Spain.

Sierra Nevada mountain range

The weather in the Sierra Nevada & Malaga area

The region with its mild winters and warm summers is a beloved destination for sun lovers. However, for your mountain bike adventure I would advise the lower areas around Sierra Nevada between November till the end of April. The season for the higher Sierra Nevada routes run between May till the end of October. This area is a bit less accessible as you will need your own transport or uplift shuttle assistance.

Although these are the recommended seasons, if you ask me arriving back into the oven after a day of riding does not sound appealing. As most mountain bike bases are located on a lower altitude, it is not uncommon for these areas to reach temperatures of 35°C or more around the summer. So in my opinion the south of Spain is best suited for biking in December, January and February. However, if you want to explore the (higher) trials around Sierra Nevada it is best to stick to the recommended seasons. As this is also a famous skiing destination with plenty of snowfall and icy temperatures during winter.

It will be somewhat difficult to plan your own trip as there is little information available on trailforks and wikiloc. So, to make most out of your winter trip you will need to contact a local mountain bike agency.

Perfect mix of mountain biking and sightseeing

It’s also a culturally interesting destination as it has influence from the Moors and Berbers, which led to the beautiful Alhambra and the small picturesque villages located in Las Alpujarras. When visiting the area, you will most likely fly into Malaga. This famous tourist destination is nice to visit for a day, as there is plenty to do here. Visit the amphitheatre, relax in a beach club or even go for a relaxing bike ride along the boulevard. To experience a more authentic Spanish vibe, head over to the cultural city of Granada. The historical old centre and the Alhambra make Granada worth a visit. Especially outside of high season, this is an incredible place to discover the true Andalusian vibe and hospitality. The combination of great trails with plenty to do in the area makes this region a great choice for you mountain biking holiday in Spain.

5. Sierra de Madrid / Sierra de Guadarrama

Huh, is there a major mountain bike area near Madrid? Yes, it’s one of those locations only known by locals and it’s one of the better semi year round mountain bike destinations in Europe. Sierra de Madrid consists of various connected mountain ranges, among it is the Sierra de Guadarrama. Ideally located, at less then an hour drive from Madrid.

Mountain biking Sierra de Madrid/ Sierra de Guadarrama

The Sierra de Madrid consists of various valleys and mountain peaks that are quite far apart from each other, creating a great variety of terrain and trails. Moreover, it’s packed with scarcely used trails where you will feel as if you have the entire national park to yourself .If you don’t feel like paddling and want to avoid an uplift shuttle, there is even a special train you can take. From the little town of Cercedilla you can ride through with the panoramic nature train to Puerto de Navacerrada ski station, located at around 1900m and taking about 40 minutes. You can also combine the natural unshaped trails with a day in the nearby Pinilla Bikepark , which is located within 30 minutes to an hour drive, depending on where you stay.

The weather in Sierra de Madrid/ Sierra de Guadarrama

During the scorching summer it’s a perfect escape from the heat in in Madrid as the mountain bases are located around 1000m and most peaks above 2200 meters (highest: the Peñalara at 2428m). Some of the areas are designated as a national park, providing a home for deer, wildcats, boars, wolves, eagles and vultures. So safe to say it’s a beautiful spot for your mountain bike holiday in Spain. In spring and fall, the weather is most agreeable as the temperatures range from 10 to 20 °C with an average of 8 days of rain each month.

During winter I wouldn’t recommend going here as it can be very cold and there will be snow in the mountains. So only the lower trails will be available. Summertime could be an option, if you like warm weather and the occasional heat wave. On average temperatures are around 20 to 25 °C in the mountains and 28 °C at the mountain base.

Don’t miss out on the cultural hotspots in the area

If you have the time and are in need of a rest day, then I would advice you to visit one of the cultural hotspots in the area: The Royal Site of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the old city of Segovia . San Lorenzo de El Escorial is a historical residence of the King of Spain and a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. Segovian has a scenic 11 th century fortress and an ancient 1 st century Roman aqueduct.

Sacred Rides

The Pyrenees and Beyond

For thousands of years, Spanish farmers moved their livestock from valley farms to graze in the high Pyrenees Mountains for the summer months. This movement created hundreds of incredible livestock trails, now rediscovered and uplifted by local mountain bikers in search of adventure. This unique history of Spain has helped create a vibrant mountain bike scene you need to experience.

The trails crisscross over million-year-old sea beds, across wine-rich regions, through abandoned middle-age villages and along rocky foothills, before meeting the rugged Pyrenees mountains — the natural border between Spain and France. The terrain offers up the perfect ingredients for an awe-inspiring mountain bike trip. Heli-drops, shuttle runs and technical singletrack riding in the heart of the Pyrenees is topped off with mouth-watering Spanish cuisine (‘tapas’ included), local wine pairings and fascinating, rich cultural experiences. Descend 2,500 vertical meters in one day,  pedal by 1,000-year-old castles and take countless photographs — the memories you’ll create on this ride will not be forgotten.

Is This Ride For You?

You are a skilled mountain biker who loves a good challenge, long descents and a fair amount of pedalling to keep you in shape! You’re fine breaking a sweat if it means incredible views and getting off-the-beaten-track where the chances of seeing another mountain biker are slim. You thrive off epic descents with the help of a shuttle van or your own two legs. You’re comfortable riding rocky terrain, including rock slabs, loose rocks, grippy rock, slippery rocks — rock on! You’re comfortable riding for up to 6 hours a day, for multiple days. You have a solid, well-maintained do-it-all trail bike (with roughly 130–160mm of travel, dropper post and beefy tires. Limited rentals are also available). You love eating like royalty, trying new foods and learning about the local culture and history of the destination you’re visiting.

We’ll pick you up from our partner hotel in downtown Barcelona at 11:00 am or from the Barcelona airport (BCN) at 12:00 pm.

Enjoy a 3‑hour scenic drive from the bustling beach-side city of Barcelona to the small, historic town of Aínsa, on the edge of the Pyrenees mountains. We’ll provide snacks and lunch for the road trip.

The small village of Aínsa was the capital of the old Kingdom of Sobrarbe and was later incorporated into the Kingdom of Aragon in the 11th century. The now modern and vibrant tourist town constitutes a magnificent example of medieval architecture. The historic quarter was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in Spain and you will understand why when you’re dropped off in the beautiful town square. The houses are harmoniously packed together with the backdrop of bell tower, castle and church. The walls that surrounded the town centuries ago remain almost intact today and the streets are filled with monuments that will transport you back to the Middle Ages.

Upon arriving in Aínsa, you’ll meet your guides, review the week’s itinerary, build your bikes and enjoy your first Spanish dinner together.

There will be an option to go for a quick ride close to town to get your legs spinning and warmed-up for the incredible week ahead!

We’ll enjoy dinner as a group tonight as a warm welcome, start to the trip meal. Get to know your fellow travelers, and revel in the camaraderie of the group.

Rise and shine!

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, take an early morning stroll through the historic medieval town of Aínsa and then suit up to ride!

The village of Aínsa dates back to the 11th Century, and the trails that surround it are old trading routes, carefully brought back to life by the local mountain bike community.

In 2015 and 2018, Aínsa hosted the Enduro World Series and you’re about to find out why — it’s home to incredible mountain bike trails and terrain. From forested singletrack to rocky descents, you’ll get a little taste of the diverse ecosystems in the area. From the ‘badlands’ north of town to the rolling rocky hills south of town, you’re sure to finish this day with a smile on your face.

We’ll head back to the hotel and you can get out for an amazing introduction to Spanish cuisine. Bring your appetite!

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll pack up and head out to Bielsa — a small town close to the French border, and the gateway to the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.

Our team in Spain is part of the group who builds and maintains the trails in this area. You’ll get to experience big mountain views and singletrack straight of a dream at the door of the Ordesa National Park. Today is about the adrenaline of the descent — with a little climbing (around 100 meters), you’ll be in store for about 2,500 meters of descent!

After a great day of riding, we’ll head back to the hotel and get ready for dinner in Bielsa.

Rise and Shine!

Today we cross over the border and enter France for some amazing enduro-style trails in the lush green forests. The immaculate dirt here will have you almost as excited as the first time you got on a bike. Make sure to really breathe in the fresh air in this pristine area of the country!

We’ll be riding in the Fabian Bike Center and the Ens trail system for some fast and flowy trails, with a mixing in of fun technical trails as well. These forested singletrack riding areas will leave you reminiscing as we head back to our hotel in Bielsa.

Tonight we’ll all go out and enjoy dinner as a group. Stories about the riding and cold beverages are sure to flow!

We’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel in Bielsa and then head to the small mountain town of Loudenvielle (less than a 1‑hour drive), for some sweet downhill action.

Since 2021, Loudenvielle has been host to a round of the Enduro World Series, which means you’ll be riding in the footsteps (or tire marks) of some of the greatest riders in the world. From the mountain summer pastures to unspoiled hazelnut and fir forests Loudenvielle has established itself as a mecca in the mountain bike world. From the trails to the setting (lakes and mountain peaks surrounding you), this is a playground for all riding styles.

After a full day of riding, we’ll drive back to our hotel in Bielsa. Tonight is our last night in Bielsa. Make sure to get out and sample some more of the local cuisine!

Rest up, the adventure continues tomorrow.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast at our Bielsa hotel before packing up and heading south to our next destination — Tremp. Along the way we’ll stop in the little town of La Pobla de Segur (The Town of Security). Originally settled north of where the town is presently, La Pobla de Segur was moved to its current location in the mid 13th century.

Get ready for some long descents, a constantly changing landscape from pine and moss forests to more cobbled and rocky outcroppings. Just like the landscape, there is a good variety in the trails as well — from flowy and fast to technical and spicy.

After we finish riding, we’ll continue on to Tremp, where we will spend our last two nights in Spain. Our hotel is a historic one, with it being originally started as a small inn by the family’s great grandfather.

Today, you’ll awake to amazing views of towering mountains and alpine lakes. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll get out and hit the trails.

We will enjoy some wonderful trails in the area — the ones with the most flow, and the most technical ones if we still have the strength. This will be our last good day of riding, so make sure to get the goods!

After the full day of riding, we’ll head back to our hotel, enjoy a final dinner together, share stories and say “Salud” to an amazing adventure!

After breakfast, we offer a complimentary shuttle back to Barcelona at 8:00 am. We will drop Riders off at the Barcelona airport (BCN) by 1:00 pm or provide a drop-off to our partner hotel in Barcelona in the late afternoon.

The following data represents a typical itinerary, but adventure travel can be unpredictable and our Guides may need to make last-minute changes to ensure your enjoyment. Inclement weather, road closures, changes to the itinerary to accommodate requests, and other issues may affect the itinerary. The ride data represents an ‘average’ itinerary, and may differ when you actually show up to ride. Our guides make every effort to stick to the itinerary as posted, but your safety is our #1 priority.

Skill Levels

Black diamond.

The Black Diamond Rides are  suitable for riders looking for that edge. Maybe it’s the edge of a drop, the edge of a cliff, or singletrack requiring focus and fast reactions developed from extensive experience riding “the edge”. You will find yourself on steep trails of varied surfaces. In the Pacific North West that could be slick roots and loam, in Nepal you will find exposed granite in the Mustang Valley and in Guatemala it maybe narrow stairways through cliffside villages. While airtime is rarely required, the ability to find the backside or clean a tabletop should be comfortable or in a state of progress. Obstacles on Black rides are likely to be outside the range of your bikes ability to cover your goofs with its awesome suspension and grip.

Blue Square

In general, Blue trails are narrower than green trails, encounter unavoidable obstacles such as roots, rocks, and drops that are up to 8-inches tall. You will want to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of mountain biking including body positions, powerful braking, cornering, riding on varied terrain, steep sections and experience riding trails that requires line choice. Airtime is not mandatory, but you will find yourself on trails with alternate lines giving you the option.

Double Black Diamond

A Double Black ride is for those that already know they are looking for a Double Black. It’s going to be very hard and require advanced bike handling skills. You will find yourself on trails with sections most non-riders would look at and say, “that’s totally nuts!”. You will know how to look at a line and contemplate where it will work and where it won’t. Drops of a couple feet should be comfortable and getting your bike off the ground should feel predictable and fun.

Green Circle

Typically, green Rides are safe for beginners. Green Rides may have both avoidable and unavoidable obstacles. Trails are generally low grade, wide, consistent surface texture and have minimal features. You are likely to come across unavoidable obstacles 2-inches or shorter, which is small enough for mountain bike tires to simply roll over. More challenging than tarmac, but in general, a wonderful Ride for those riders new to mountain biking or looking for a casual experience.

Fitness Levels

A Black Fitness ride will test you. Aside from needing to be able to manage up to 6 hours on the bike, day after day, including distance up to 50km/30miles and elevation gains up to 1750m/5000feet of climbing, you will be adding extra challenges along the route like periods of hike-a-bike and the extra effort required by the whole body to safely dance with your bike over technical terrain. Generally, riders who are up for a Black Fitness ride, likely spend time on the bike a couple times each week.

Blue should be considered a good deal more effort than our Green Rides.  You should be able to handle 3 to 5 hours in the saddle covering up to 45km/30miles and be able to pull off a big day of 1000m/3000feet of elevation gain. Managing fuel is important as well.  You should have a good understanding how your body responds to multiple days on the bike. We will help with positive coaching, a manageable pace and plenty of trailside snacks.

A Double Black will be for those with the strength and endurance to get to the top of anything they want and understand the term “turning the screw”. Distance could be quite high on some routes and elevation gain numbers could hit 2000m/6000 feet+ in a day. You are likely riding multiple days a week during the dry periods and have a trainer or belong to a gym for the rest of the year.

You should be ready to spend 2-4 hours per day on the bike. Mileage may be up to 30km/20 miles and elevation gain will be under 500m/1500feet. On e-MTB tours, numbers will be higher, however the approximate effort would be considered similar to a standard Green Circle ride. If you get on your bike once a week, you will be just fine. However, when preparing for a Ride, you will benefit from more rides and time in the saddle.

Awesome! Riding with Friends is the Best!

Mountain Biking Holidays in Lanjarón, Sierra Nevada

open september-june , we are in the centre of a huge trail network, in the heart of the alpujarras.

mountain bike tours spain

Enduro/Downhill holidays  - Open September to June - Catering for solo riders to groups of 21

RSS offers group mountain biking holidays in the stunning Alpujarras mountain range on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. We provide packages that include accommodation, transfers from Málaga airport, 99% uplift shuttled riding and bike rental options.

RSS is for the keen riders out there - our trips fit in roughly 3000m to 5000m of descent per day over multiple descents, shuttling from 9.30am to 4.30pm. We ride 6 days a week, rather than most companies 5 days. Training weeks and local race weeks are also available. Non-riders are also welcome to come and stay at RSS with a discounted rate - there are plenty of other activities in the area around Lanjarón.

An added bonus for trips booked in the winter is that we are only 1 hour from the Sierra Nevada ski resort which is based up at 2000m, meaning you can ski in the morning and ride to the beach in the afternoon - no compromise needed!

We offer a 7 day package, starting on Saturdays, however if you would like a shorter duation trip or slightly more tailored, drop us a message and we can see what we can do.

What is the Biking Like on the Basque Coast?

Having groups with similar levels is key to our mountain bike holidays and something we spend a lot of time sorting before you arrive.

Each week we aim to run two groups with a guide, driver, van and trailer each to allow people to choose the group which best suits their level.

Ride With Groups At Your Level

We rate our holidays for fitness and skill levels and, to find out more about how we do this and an overview of the grades we use, check out our mountain bike holiday skills and fitness guide .

Skill Level

The terrain on our Basque Coast mountain bike holiday is very varied and we can offer mountain bike holidays for all levels from good intermediate riders to expert .

Fitness

To enjoy our mountain bike holiday on the Basque Coast you will need a moderate to good level of fitness.

LOGISTICS | BASQUE ENDURO MOUNTAIN BIKE HOLIDAY

Most people arrive to Bilbao Airport, however Biarritz is also good. If you are flying via Madrid or Barcelona you might be able to arrive to Hondarribia Airport for the shortest transfer. If you are coming by car then the ferry to Bilbao or Santander is a good option from the UK. Additionally you can contact us for the most up to date advice. From Paris you can take the TGV direct to Hendaye.

Departures are very flexible. We can usually get you to San Sebastian in time to get a flight around 10:30am. Midday makes it a lot more relaxing for you though.

Accommodation

Doneztebe is around 30 minutes from San Sebastian and the Basque Coast beaches, and is a traditional Basque town. Your accommodation will offer traditional dinners every night, with amazing local food and the perfect hosts. All accommodation has Wifi, secure bike storage and clothes washing facilities.

Basque Coast | Fully Catered

The Basque Coast mountain bike holiday is based in Doneztebe, a beautiful traditional Basque village around 30 minutes inland from Hondarribia. Doneztebe is surrounded by mountains and of course fantastic mountain biking! Evening meals are included with this package and the quality, and quantity, of the meals are perfect for hungry mountain bikers. This accomodation suits groups, happy with their own social life and not looking to go out eating and drinking at nights.

TRIP DATES | BASQUE ENDURO MOUNTAIN BIKE HOLIDAY

This trip will run in May, June, July and September. For a detailed schedule please check out our calendar.

Basque MTB is located just outside San Sebastian, in Spain , a perfect location to offer great holidays for those who, for some strange reason, don’t want to throw themselves down mountains all day! While your loved ones risk life and limb mountain biking, you can choose lots of alternative holiday activities, from relaxing on the beach, shopping and being pampered with spa treatments to alternative thrills such as surfing. If you would like to, you can surf in Spain in the morning, have a guided tour of a local vineyard in the afternoon, and then dine in France in the evening.

Create your own review

We had high hopes for our trip and it was even better than expected. The town, the house, the guides, the trails were all awesome. It was great getting to know the other riders and going out for dinner with them in Hondarribia each night. The riding was perfect for our level - challenging but doable. It was fun to ride trails that were quite different to what we ride here in NZ. We rented bikes and were very happy with them. We will return, and recommend Basque MTB to all our friends!
I was afraid the rides would be too easy - they were actually a good challenge. This, paired with 5 full days of riding really increased my skills/ability a big notch. I'm a better rider as I could go over some blockages I had. Really nice!
The most astonishing scenarios, exciting trails and excellent food....doesn't get any better than this.
A heady mixture of fantastic riding, incredible scenery and food, wine and beer to knock your socks off - I'll be back!
Excellent biking in beautiful scenery! All in all, it was much better than I was hoping it to be.

Here are some of the questions we are regularly asked about our mountain bike holidays. If you have any questions we are delighted to answer them, just get in touch.

We don’t have set itineraries for our holidays. We have dozens of trails to choose from and we match each day to suit the mountain bikers we have. The only thing common to all our holidays is that we ride 6 days a week and run transfers to San Sebastian and Biarritz on the Saturdays.

Yes, we can offer shorter breaks. We don´t guide on Wednesday and Saturday but we can offer shorter trips and based around that. If you arrive on a day when we are guiding you might have to have a drink in San Sebastian and wait until we are able to pick you up though!

During our mountain bike holidays we tend to keep the groups small. The average size of our group is 6 people. If you can come in a group of 6 people or more and want your own guide then we can do that. We typically have 10-14 people a week, supported by two dedicated guides, two drivers who can also guide and two vans with dedicated bike trailers.

During the booking process we guide people towards a week where the other guests are at a similar level. Obviously this isn’t totally accurate so we run our holidays with two guides so we can offer a harder and an easier group each day.

Yes, this part of Spain is perfect for non-biking partners, check out our holiday pages for more information.

The weather on the Basque coast is generally amazing, however the price for having mountains right on the coast is that we get some rain. Generally if the rain comes from the north it all falls on the coast and we can drive a short distance south into Spain and enjoy sunny and dry conditions. If the rain comes from the south then usually the Basque coast remains dry while the rest of Spain gets wet. It is very uncommon for the weather to be bad in all the areas we can choose to ride in, however if that does happen then we take some comfort in the fact that it generally means most of Spain, France and northern Italy are affected!

Temperatures remain moderate through the whole season, averaging around 25°C in the hottest months of July and August. Occasionally we will get higher temperatures of around 30°C-35°C for a day or two in August but it never lasts and we can ride high up or next to the coast to escape the heat. In August the Basque Country is full of holiday makers from France and Spain due to it’s great climate.

To try and make this subject a bit interactive we have a facebook page dedicated to this. Please have a look here, (and we always appreciate people liking our page!).

WHY THE BASQUE COAST MOUNTAIN BIKE HOLIDAY IN SPAIN?

Our Basque Coast mountain bike holiday is a fun trip. It is less intense than the High Pyrenees or Backcountry Pyrenees holidays, largely because the trails are more flowing and we are based in one place all week. Each day we use unlimited shuttles to ride the best singletrack, with lots of hand built trails mixed in with fun natural singletrack. There is some climbing but around 70% of the riding is downhill. If you like the idea of riding amazing trails and ending up back in a fun seaside town to go out and eat and have a few drinks then this is the trip for you!

Amazing riding variety. The trail building on the Basque Coast is amazing, with lots of hand built trails, with berms and jumps. In addition there is a lot of natural riding from big mountain tops to coastal singletrack. The trails on the Basque Coast can be steep and technical, if your group is up for it.

On the Basque Coast we have smaller mountains, however we don´t limit the number of shuttles we do. You can ride up in the van and down on the bike as often as you want.

Environment

Beers with friends on the beach after riding in the deep, ancient forests or high on remote mountains. The Basque culture is famous over the whole world with good reason and for people who want to explore, nearby San Sebatian or Hondarribia offers great nightlife and fantastic food.

The Basque Coast offers great, loamy trails peppered with roots and rocks to keep everything interesting. The deep, ancient forests are one of our favourite places to ride anywhere.

Tour itinerary

The itinerary for our incredible mountain bike tour Spain E-MTB has been designed to flow perfectly, maximising your time on the best trails in the most spectacular spots in the South Island, whilst minimising time in the van.

You should arrive in Málaga the day before your tour start date, to allow for any travel or baggage delays, and to give yourself time to relax before your adventure begins.

We have a guide to spending 24 hours in Málaga which contains recommendations on places to stay and things to do in the city.

Your guides will meet you at the recommended hotel in Málaga around 12:00 noon.

We will then head to a small village outside Granada where we will build and set up bikes at a beautiful country house and have some lunch, before we move on to Dilar, a village in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

When we arrive at your fabulous small hotel we’ll set up rental bikes, then get together for some coffee and cake and our welcome tour briefing.

On the first full day of your e-mountain bike tour Spain you’ll have a big day of riding, from last night’s accommodation and along the southernmost portion of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

During your ride you will experience flowing singletrack, doubletrack, climbing and descending, and an optional technical descent to round things off; not to mention amazing mountain cuisine, hospitality and views…

From your accommodation in Capileira we’ll venture even higher and deeper into the Sierra Nevada mountains on a selection of breath-taking singletrack that leads us to a height of 2000m, before dropping us down through high mountain meadows to lunch in the highest village on mainland Spain, Trevélez.

This remote village is famous across Spain and the world for its ‘jamones’. You’ll have the chance to visit the museum and small family factory and, of course, taste some of this delicious ham – a real highlight of the day.

After a relaxing sleep on the farm, we have a van transfer to Mecina Bombaron, one of the last strongholds of the Moorish culture in Spain.

From here we’ll climb up to 2,000m on some easy Land Rover tracks, until topping out at the singletrack trailhead where we’ll descend on some of the most ancient trails in the area towards the “Rio Grande de Bérchules”.

From the high snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains, where you were riding on trails that interlinked whitewashed villages, you are now going to cut across to the northern side and into the desert landscape.

We will start with a transfer of about an hour from our accommodation in Cádiar, followed by a full day on the bike that will have you wondering if you have landed in another country, or world! A large part of today will be doubletrack, punctuated by flowing singletrack sections.

We’re now on the north side of the Sierra Nevada and will be e-mountain biking in a Quaternary Geopark, where the rivers have excavated a unique ‘Badlands’ landscape.

A tour in the “Desierto de los Colorados” will give us the chance to take some really special photos. This will also allow us to get a full understanding of how people have lived here since the Neolithic time.

Today we’ll be e-mountain biking an ancient trade path that will be enough to give any singletrack addict their fix!

As you snake along singletrack-strewn hillsides, completely engrossed in these spectacular trails, you will suddenly be hit by a surreal view of the Alhambra in the distance, which signals the start of your descent into Granada via a much less ventured path…

Sadly, today we must bid our farewells. We’ll pack up all our belongings and transfer you (app. two hours) back to Málaga airport for your flight back to reality.

We advise that you book your return flight no earlier than 13:00 if you’re flying home today.

We want you to have the best experience in Andalucía, Spain, so it’s important to be sure that this is the perfect E-MTB tour, with the right level of challenge, for you.

You’re an experienced e-mountain biker, riding at least once a week through the season and comfortable on: long double track climbs; steep, singletrack descents with switchbacks; loose, rocky singletrack; rock gardens. Read more on our intermediate+ skill level .

Does this sound like you? Your vacation time is precious and we want to be absolutely sure that you’re making the most of it, by finding the perfect adventure for you.

On our E-MTB tours the e-bike is not a skill or fitness compensator. It is an aid to exploring the world, riding further, or giving you that one final run down a trail that we might otherwise have missed.

During our e-mountain bike tour in Spain you will deliver around 85% of the effort required on an average day and your E-MTB will help you with the other 15%. You will occasionally encounter terrain or a situation where you will need to run the bike in Boost mode for short periods. Most of your ride will be spent between Eco and Trail modes, sitting in Eco mode on most climbs to manage your battery life through the day.

Please note: The skill level required reflects an overall rating for the trails on the trip but you should expect to find sections and obstacles that push your ability levels.

Skill level: Intermediate+

  • You have been mountain biking regularly for at least two years
  • You can brake, use gears and corner with confidence
  • You have good bike handling skills, and are confident riding rough double track and non-technical singletrack
  • You are competent at riding undulating trails with moderate climbs and descents on both double and singletrack, but tend to get off and walk technical singletrack sections
  • You mountain bike approximately once a week throughout your biking season

Fitness level: 6/7

  • You have an excellent level of bike fitness, exercising four or five times every week throughout the year, for at least an hour at a time
  • You are comfortable mountain biking up to six hours a day at a moderate pace, with snack and photo stops, for four or more consecutive days
  • You can tackle several serious climbs a day, up to 600 metres each

Typical trails you’ll be riding

  • The trails on our E-MTB tour Spain are natural ‘rustic’ ancient walking paths of varying trail surface, that will require you to choose your own riding line and decide if it is suitable to ride
  • Double track: undulating and sometimes steep jeep tracks made up of a mixture of hard-packed and loose road surfaces
  • Singletrack: you will encounter up to head-sized, fixed and loose rocks, as well as fixed bedrock style trails, natural rock steps and street riding
  • Tight switchbacks are also characteristic of this part of Spain, and worth practising before you travel
  • The surface will most likely be very dry and loose
  • Trails in the forest will have roots crossing them and may be narrow through the trees

Training for your Andalucían E-MTB adventure in Spain

To get the most out of your e-mountain bike tour in Spain you should plan plenty of training in advance of your tour.

The distances we cover each day range from 35km to 60km, in accordance with the difficulty of the terrain. Each evening your guides will chat with you about the following day’s e-mountain biking and give you an idea of the sorts of trails you can look forward to.

If you cannot travel with your own E-MTB we can arrange rental of a good quality e-mountain bike for the duration of your adventure.

Read the full kit list to find out what you need to pack for your European e-mountain bike tour in Spain.

Yes, there are laundry facilities at your accommodations.

Unfortunately not. We are working hard to provide each and every customer who rides with us an unparalleled mountain bike experience in every destination we ride. This takes years of experience, riding and planning to get right, and a drone adds a very real danger to the group’s riding experience and health & safety.

Málaga Airport is well-served by international airlines, including: British Airways, Lufthansa, Delta and EasyJet, and you can also connect via Madrid and Barcelona with American Airlines, United Airlines and Iberia.

t is your responsibility to find out the visa and passport requirements to enter Spain from your country. You can find these details on the Spanish tourism website

The trip will end back at Málaga Airport on day 8.

We would ask you to arrive at Málaga no later than 12 noon on the first day, and to arrange flights home no earlier than 13:00, if possible.

Ideally, you should arrive in Málaga the day before the tour start date, to allow for any flight/ luggage delays, and we have created this handy guide to spending 24 hours in Málaga before the start of our mountain bike tour Spain.

On arrival we will transfer you by private shuttle to our first location in Dilar, about 90 minutes’ drive from the airport, and close to the Sierra Nevada National Park.

Our local e-mountain bike guides in Spain are of the very highest standard. They are qualified in first-aid, and have the knowledge and experience to lead a group safely around the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarra of Andalucía.

Our guides have years of experience in the saddle on the Spanish trails and will be able to enhance your holiday with facts and fables on local history, flora and fauna. They’re also genuinely nice people and will do their best to make sure that everyone in the group has a great time.

One of the things that sets this e-mountain bike tour Spain apart from other tours is the quality and individuality of the accommodation we use. We understand that when you’ve had a big day in the saddle in the Sierra Nevada, you want a warm welcome, hot shower and a comfortable place to relax and unwind – because that’s exactly what we’re looking for too.

The majority of accommodation that we use on our mountain bike tour Spain is family-owned and operated hotels, guest lodges and even comfortable caves. We’ve spent time researching these areas extensively to select the most comfortable and authentic accommodation in the region, and we have carefully planned the itinerary to incorporate these.

Another highlight of our Spanish E-MTB adventure is the abundance of exceptional local food and drink you’ll enjoy in every town and village along the way, culminating in a tapas tour of Granada.

Whilst lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price, so that you can choose what you wish from the dinner menu, we will eat together as a group at each mealtime.

No specific vaccinations are needed to enter Spain.

It is wise to carry basic medicines such as paracetamol or aspirin for fever and pain and Pepto-Bismol for stomach upset.

You should always consult your own doctor or physician before travelling to new countries to seek their advice on matters concerning your health abroad.

Your health and safety on tour is our top priority and when you travel with us you will be covered by Global Rescue emergency medical and evacuation services.

The official currency of Spain is the Euro EUR and is the only currency that will be accepted. ATM machines are available in most towns.

It is not compulsory to tip your guides or drivers in Spain, but if you feel that you have had a tremendous experience on your E-MTB adventure in Spain, you can tip at your discretion; as a rough guide, around 5% of your tour price for your guiding team.

It is not compulsory to tip in restaurants, however should you wish to tip your servers, 10% of your meal cost would be acceptable.

You are required as a condition of booking to be insured against medical and personal accident risks. In this policy you must include cover for mountain biking and we recommend that you take out a policy which covers cancellation and baggage, including your bike.

We work with Global Rescue whose policies are specially designed for adventure travel and you can arrange your insurance cover directly with them.

Create your own review

We met mountain biking over 25 years ago, and for our 25th year anniversary, we did a private mountain bike tour through the Andalusia mountains. This was a memorable and amazing experience - definitely worth the money. We take back with us priceless memories and new friendships. Our hosts/guides, Cali, Lali and Guille were very accommodating. We got to know quite a bit of the small villages and to experience first hand their everyday routines. They live an amazing life having to make do with the resources around them. The food was tasty, yet simple. It is definitely farm to table and you can taste the freshness in the ingredients. From olive oil tasting, to staying in the highest village in the Sierra Nevadas, to learning about how they make Jamon serrrano/iberico, to riding on trails traveled by the Romans, learning about natural electrolytes for the cattle, staying in a cave, and tasting different artisan wines from the region, the memories/experiences are always going to stay with us. This was one of those bucket list experiences for me, but my husband would like to bring a group to experience this again. Thank you H+I Adventures for planning this trip for us. I highly recommend this company!

Sierra Nevada Gravel Bike Tour

Sierra nevada gravel bike tour highlights.

Highlights of this unique, expertly-guided, high altitude, point-to-point gravel tour around the Sierra Nevada mountains include:

  • Epic riding on endless gravel roads, through a variety of microclimates, with views of high plains, snowy peaks and the Mediterranean sea.
  • Exploring both the north and south-facing slopes of this scarcely-visited mountain range, where you are more likely to see a flock of vultures than other riders.
  • Staying in hidden white villages, where time stands still and the stars shine brightly in deep, rural darkness.
  • Enjoying local food and wine.
  • The jewel in the crown: conquering the other-worldly Veleta Pass, at 3269 metres above sea level.
  • Riding into the captivating city of Granada, beneath the Moorish Alhambra palace.
  • While you’re riding, we take care of everything else.

The Route & The Riding

This is a challenging mountain gravel route; about 80% light to chunky gravel riding and 20% quiet tarmac/asphalt roads. The total distance is 242 kilometres, with 6830 metres of climbing. The daily distances are not huge, but there is a lot of climbing and riding at high altitude. We will be in remote areas. You need to be a fit, experienced cyclist. We recommend a gravel bike with at least 40mm tyres. A good alternative is a hardtail mountain bike.

Day 1. Arrival

Transfer from Málaga airport to Lanteira, an intriguing village on the north side of the mountain range. We stay in a charming hotel overlooking a gorge, on the outskirts of the village. Over dinner in the renowned restaurant, we will talk about the adventure ahead of us.

Day 2. Stage 1

From Lanteira, we ride up into the wilderness and follow an undulating gravel road, traversing forested mountainsides, with glimpses of the endless high plains to the north. At 2100m, we crest the mountain pass of Puerto de la Ragua, which leads us to the south-facing side of the range, known since Moorish times as La Alpujarra. We descend to the pretty village of Mairena, where tonight’s accommodation is a stylish take on the traditional Spanish hotel, with a great restaurant. Distance 55km, with 1460m of elevation.

Day 3. Stage 2

From Mairena we climb up to a spectacular gravel road at 2000m. From here, we have views of the highest peaks, the Mediterranean and, on a clear day, the Rif Mountains of Morocco. We follow this road in and out of several valleys and finish at a lovely, small hotel in the village of Bérchules. We will enjoy a hearty dinner and a few drinks on the terrace. Distance 61km, with 1590m of elevation.

Day 4. Stage 3

A gentler day today. We climb up through Bérchules on gravel and wind our way up to 2000m and a superb view of Mulhacén: mainland Spain’s highest peak. Then we have an exhilarating and challenging gravel descent before a lovely asphalt/tarmac ride into Spain’s highest village and world centre of jamón serrano: Trevélez. Then we take a stunning gravel road into the spectacular Poqueira valley. We stay in a charming hotel in Capileira, chosen by National Geographic as one of Spain’s most beautiful villages. An early night is advisable! Distance 48km, with 1590m of elevation.

Day 5. Stage 4

This is the queen stage!

Today we head up from Capileira, climbing gradually on tarmac/asphalt and then gravel, into the famous lunar landscape of the Veleta pass. At 3269m, this is Europe’s highest cyclable pass. It used to be Europe’s highest driveable road, but was closed to vehicles when the area was declared a National Park in the 1990s. Crossing it by bike will be a memory to last a lifetime. We then have a truly epic tarmac descent, on quiet roads, to the valley bottom. Then we climb, briefly, to the town on Güéjar Sierra and onwards to the delightful village of Pinos Genil. From here we follow the River Genil, all the way into Granada, by way of a wonderful, gently descending, gravel cycleway.

On arrival in the centre of Granada, at the Fuente de la Ninfa, we are rewarded with cava and tapas to ease our weary bodies and to celebrate the end of our amazing adventure.

Distance 78km, with 2190m of elevation.

Day 6. Departure

Transfer to Málaga airport.

  • Four days of professionally qualified guiding, with two guides per group.
  • 4×4 vehicle support. Your luggage is transported in the support vehicle, which is on hand to provide water, cold drinks, spares and moral/physical support, if needed. You only need to carry a day pack.
  • Accommodation in charming, rural hotels, followed by a city-centre Granada hotel.
  • Full board: all breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, except dinner on the last night.
  • Málaga airport transfers.
  • Evening drinks

The Sierra Nevada Gravel Bike Tour can run in June, September and October; there is too much snow on the Veleta pass to cross in winter and spring.

As shown on the calendar, via the link below, these scheduled tours are available to book:

  • Saturday 22 June to Thursday 27 June 2024
  • Thursday 5 September to Tuesday 10 September 2024

To open a new tour, we need a minimum of four riders. If you have a group of four or more, please contact us to arrange dates to suit you.

Two Deserts Gravel Bike Tour

Two deserts gravel bike tour highlights.

Escape the gloomy northern winter on this luminous, point-to-point gravel tour of southern Spain’s Gorafe and Tabernas deserts.

Highlights include:

  • Astonishing scenery, sculpted by millennia of wind and rain, accorded UNESCO Geopark status and home of the infamous Badlands ultra bikepacking event.
  • Exploring remote, frontier-like landscapes, where many Westerns were filmed, such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
  • Sleeping in fascinating cave houses.
  • Riding endless gravel roads, from valley floors to exposed ridgelines.
  • While you’re riding, we take care of everything else.

This is a challenging gravel route; about 85% medium to chunky gravel and 15% quiet tarmac/asphalt. It’s a low-altitude tour, which makes it ideal for winter, but there is a lot of climbing and descending.  Daily averages are 65 km, with 1000 metres of climbing. We will be traversing remote, sparsely populated areas. You need to be a fit, experienced cyclist.

You can ride this route with a rigid gravel bike, but we recommend at least 40mm tyres. A great alternative is a hardtail mountain bike.

Transfer from Málaga airport to Hinojares, on the northern edge of the Gorafe Desert. We stay at a family-owned hotel on the outskirts of the village, where there is plenty of space to build our bikes over welcome drinks. During dinner at the hotel restaurant, you’ll be briefed on the adventure ahead.

Pedalling out of Hinojares, we soon hit gravel. Today’s ride takes in forest, river crossings and classic Gorafe Badlands landscapes. We pass through one village today, where we resupply, before heading onto a route that traverses canyons and ridgelines. As we approach our destination, the scenery becomes more agricultural and we join a tarmac climb into the frontier-feeling village of Gorafe, which sits below an escarpment dotted with cave dwellings. We spend the night in a lovingly-restored cave. Dinner in an authentic village bar.

Having slept soundly in the silence of our cosy caves, we ride the stiff climb up onto the escarpment to begin the classic Gorafe Desert route of Los Coloraos. On this cinematic 25km loop, the towering cliffs display a myriad of colours as you ride among them. Having recovered from this sensory overload, we head south towards tonight’s destination, the village of Gor, where we stay in a quaint rural guest house on the banks of the river. Dinner in a local bar.

Today’s ride is mostly downhill. To begin with, we ride through ranch country and olive groves. We then join an ancient droving route which skirts the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, before arriving in the oasis village of Bentarique. We stay in a charming village hotel, notable for its colourful décor and super-friendly owner. Dinner is at a bar run by the same family, just around the corner.

Today we traverse the Tabernas Desert; famous for dry riverbeds and endless sandy mesas, punctuated by towering buttes. It stands in for the American West in many film productions. It’s challenging, but rewarding, gravel riding terrain. Our destination today is the village of Tabernas. We’ll finish our ride with a well-earned beer or two in the bar of the small hotel, where we will stay the night. We’ll have our last night celebration dinner in a local restaurant.

  • Accommodation in rural hotels, caves and guest houses.

The Two Deserts Gravel Bike Tour can run from October through to March.

  • Thursday 15 to Tuesday 20 February 2024
  • Monday 14 to Saturday 19 October 2024
  • Thursday 12 to Tuesday 17 December 2024
