How they have done this I will never know! but I want to go again and again and again!

Never would I imagine a tribute band to be so amazing and it's evident as they have traveled the globe recreating the works of the music industry icons that are; Pink Floyd.

Their depth into creating the feeling that Pink Floyd is present with you is so tremendously pulled off that you would think they themselves are just wearing disguises and taking the stage!

With the aid of inflatables, lasers and even screens keeping the visual stimulation high, the palette of your sensations is pleased on every level. This is key for the act as they go out of their way to make everything seem as authentic as possible and this works wonders!

The audience consistently clapping and cheering whenever given the chance to, it's just that good that what else can you do to show your appreciation!

Mastering songs such as 'Shine on you crazy diamond','Comfortably Numb','Marooned' and 'Learning to Fly' can turn anybody into a Pink Floyd fan. They have managed to do the impossible and it pays off in the sound and quality of one of their shows.

Recommend this to all!

Being a huge rock fan since the early 70’s, I have seen countless live concerts throughout the decades, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, Rammstein to name but a few.

I am and always have been a massive Pink Floyd and David Gilmour fan and have sadly never been able to see them live albeit (screening of) David Gilmour live in Pompei and rehearsing live in Venice.

I was sceptical seeing a band who are not the original artists and am now having done so am in utter disbelief. Having seen The Australian Pink Floyd, which is a most suitably apt title for an amazing band it was an unforgettable experience.

Sheer class and I was watching every musician very closely throughout and congratulations to what I witnessed to be a flawless and amazing show. I cannot believe the accuracy including the vocals of all songs played, performed and to summarise I equal the show amongst the greatest rock bands I have seen.

I sincerely thank you all and I look forward to seeing you next time without any hesitation.

The Australian Pink Floyd show was very good and I enjoyed listening to the music of a band I grew up with. The musicians were wonderful. They got pretty close to sounding like the real thing and played music that, I'm sure, is hard to play. The singing was also very good. How difficult it must be to try to live up to David Gilmour and Roger Waters' vocals. Virtually impossible but the singers gave it a great try. The set list was good and many awesome songs were played. The light show was very good and not over the top. I believe they did Pink Floyd proud. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and really got into the music. I would go again and I highly recommend this show to anyone. I have one wish, that it was back in the day when the audience were up on their feet for the entire show singing the words and dancing around to the more upbeat music and maybe, passing that joint around. Lol. It was one heck of a night! I'm looking forward to the day the Australian Pink Floyd Show comes back to Pittsburgh. I will "Run run run run" to buy my tickets.

Well, what can I say? How many ways are there to say awsesome, brilliant, fantastic, etc etc.

I know what I'm talking about, having seen every Floyd tour from DSM in 1974 right up to the Pulse 40th anniversery concert.

I have finally seen Oz floyd more than the originals, but it's taken a few years, as you can imagine.

I never thought I'd utter these words, but Oz are now, if anything, better than the original. They've got the toys, the tech, and the attitude. And their girls are absolute babes. Better now they've finally learned to synchronise their movements. Their 'Great Gig in the Sky' has to be heard to be believed.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond had tears rolling down my cheeks.

I'm looking forward to next year's gig already, and will be buying tickets the day I see it advertised.

These guys have been astonishly and consistently amazing for many years and the whole experience is one not to be missed.

This particular performance was marred in the first half by thelow volume at this venue and the ‘dance police’ preventing anyone wanting to enjoy themselves. The first half IMO was quite ‘flat’ to the point of aactually asking the sound and lighting guy to pump it up a bit.

The second half improved significantly with many more favourites and the crowd got going a bit. The ubiquitous Comfortably Numb was utterly outstanding again and in itself would be a reason to chase these guys across the globe. Superb!

The best pink Floyd tribute band there is. I’ve seen this guys play about 5 times now and every time I’m still blown away by the stage show, the production, the sound but most of all by the talent of the musicians to make every track note perfect. Even ‘great gig in the Sky’ is absolutely perfect in its execution. The show is amazing and they play tracks from all the albums. I was so happy to hear, one of these days, careful with that axe, eugene and obscured by clouds. Amazing to here these lesser known songs played live like that.

I would go again every time they are playing near me. Worth every penny! 5 stars.

2 hours of pink floyd classics played from people who sound as close to the real thing you are ever going to get.

Light show a mini replica of the real thing, and fantastic sound engineer that if I close my eyes feels like I'm listening to "and delicate sound of thunder"

If you haven't seen this band do so next time they play, never been bad in the 4 times I have seen them.fantastic

Too short. Very very VERY disappointed. The song selection was great, it's just there wasn't that many of them. 13 songs including the encore?? Really. I've been to 5-6 Aussie Floyd concerts and all were at least 2hrs-2.5hrs of Floyd music. This one was 1hr 20 min. Extremely pissed off and want the whole world to know we got scammed last night

CONCERT REVIEW: THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD Is A Musical Time Machine That Uncannily Spotlights The Magic Of FLOYD’s Timeless Songs (August 8th, 2023)

pink floyd australian tour

Closing in now on 56 years of age, my bucket list of live acts to see has grown progressively smaller. Some acts, such as The Beatles , Jimi Hendrix and Elvis , will remain forever on that missed list. But perhaps the one I regret most missing in the days of my youth is the mighty Pink Floyd . Even as a young lad, I was fascinated and captivated by the wonderfully weird cover art by Storm Thorgerson . The band’s sound, too, had a remarkably unique timbre, with the emotionally drenched guitar work and soothing voice of David Gilmour colliding with the awkwardly angular bass lines and edgy vocals of Roger Waters . They created musical tension on tape, and interpersonal tension in real life, leading to the band’s division and ultimate demise. With the passing of Richard Wright , the ship of seeing the authentic Pink Floyd definitively sailed off into the night.

Seeing The Australian Pink Floyd Show in Denver, therefore, was never going to substitute for the real thing. But damn if it didn’t come pretty dang close! Not that anyone on stage had any physical resemblance to the original members, but the sound…the light show…the vibe. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with just enough Aussie modifications to add some visual humor to the gig. The crowd was a mature bunch, some clearly ready to transport back to their younger days of drug-infused classic rock. Judging from their response, The Australian Pink Floyd Show successfully provided a musical time machine that spotlighted the fantastic music and creative visuals that cemented Floyd’s reputation as a stellar live act in the 70s and 80s.

pink floyd australian tour

The first set showcased the entire “Dark Side of the Moon” album, celebrating is uncanny 50 year as the third best-selling studio album of all time, played in sequential order. While I generally feel like I never need to hear the overplayed songs of that record ever again, the live renditions were really well done, with the backup trio of Lorelei McBroom , Emily Lynn and Lara Smile s adding valuable layers of vocal sheen. Grant one additional point towards authenticity, since McBroom toured with the original Pink Floyd on the “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” and “Delicate Sound of Thunder”  tours. As for the rest of the members on stage, they served the song rather than drawing any particular attention to themselves.

pink floyd australian tour

The spectacular light show enhanced the “Dark Side of the Moon” performance tremendously, with images of Putin , Trump and other targets of liberals gracing the screen during the “lunatics on the grass” section. The round video screen, with multi-color spotlights rounding the frame morphed into a multitude of visual spectacles that were pure eye candy supporting the sonically pristine audio. One needn’t have dabbled in drugs to find the show quite a trip. In concluding the record, the band leapt into “On the Turning Away” from 1987’s “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” album, which did not have Roger Waters ’ involvement. The song slotted in so well it simply solidified the legitimacy of the post Waters Floyd . Set one wrapped up with the anthemic “Another Brick in the Wall,” with an eye-catching inflatable teacher character towering massively over the band on stage with the bizarre Floyd -esque art style fully intact. “Hey, teacher! Leave those kids alone!”

pink floyd australian tour

After a 15-minute intermission, the natural choice of “In the Flesh” called the crowd back into its rock trance as the band expertly explored the finer moments of the “Wish You Were Here” album. The dramatically building “High Hopes” proved to be an emotionally poignant highlight of the second set. And from there, the visual and musical intensity just continued to build. The stunning visuals of “Pigs” were entertaining and captivating and the terrifying opening of “One of These Days” gave way to a raucous prog instrumental romp that was absolutely on point, with green lasers flying everywhere. The set wrapped up with an energetic version of “Run Like Hell” that came off as an upbeat call for the entire hall to clap and dance. If that had been all, it would have been plenty. But the obvious choice for an encore, “Comfortably Numb,” took the crowd over the top with its gloriously reproduced guitar solo and vocal harmonies.

pink floyd australian tour

The music of Pink Floyd is so iconic, it’s probably very difficult to recreate without disappointment. But hats off to the lads from down under, who after playing more gigs than the actual band themselves, have fine-tuned their performance into a very well-oiled machine. While one might take exception to the lack of spontaneity and risk in the show, the simple truth is that they’ve crafted a wonderful tribute that evokes much of the spirit and vibe of the original act, and it is certainly worth seeing if it rolls through your town. Gigantic bouncing inflatable kangaroo and all!

The Turbulent Times Behind Pink Floyd's "The Wall": Richard Wright's Departure and Financial Strain

W hen Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” was released on November 30, 1979, it was hailed as a rock opera masterpiece, a concept album delving into themes of isolation and alienation, embodied by the psychological barricades of its protagonist, Pink. However, the journey to create this iconic album was riddled with tension, conflict, and financial strain that ultimately led to the ousting of a key band member.

The Wall’s narrative was rooted in the band’s own experiences, particularly those of bassist and lyricist Roger Waters. Inspired by his disdain for the impersonal nature of stadium shows and a particular incident where he spat on a disruptive fan, Waters envisioned a story that would become a metaphor for his feelings of separation from the audience.

Richard Wright, Pink Floyd’s keyboardist, played a significant role in shaping the band’s sound over the years. Yet, during the production of “The Wall,” his contributions dwindled, and relationships within the band grew increasingly strained. Wright was contending with a crumbling marriage and depression, his circumstances made worse by the band’s escalating tension.

At the time, Pink Floyd was under immense pressure to deliver an album due to their dire financial situation. Their investment firm, NWG, had put their earnings into high-risk ventures, which failed, leaving the band on the brink of bankruptcy. The potential tax rates they faced reached an astonishing 83 percent, prompting them to sever ties with NWG and take personal charge of their finances.

As the band reconvened to record The Wall, Wright found himself increasingly at odds with Waters. The album’s producer Bob Ezrin and Waters both expressed dissatisfaction with Wright’s production methods, leading to a tense environment where Wright was relegated to working at night, away from the rest of the band.

According to Nick Mason’s autobiography, “Inside Out,” the final straw came when Waters presented an ultimatum that either Wright left or Waters would refuse to release the album. Faced with the risk of financial ruin, Wright resigned from Pink Floyd but agreed to stay on as a salaried session musician for the subsequent tour. This arrangement meant that Wright was the only member to profit from the elaborate tour supporting “The Wall,” as it ended up losing approximately £400,000.

The Wall went on to become a monumental success, both critically and commercially. With songs like “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2,” “Comfortably Numb,” and “Hey You,” Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album solidified its place in rock history. Yet, this period marked the end of an era for Pink Floyd as a quartet. Their next album, “The Final Cut,” would feature the band without Wright and has often been seen as a Roger Waters solo project.

The album was a commercial success, spending 15 weeks at number one on the US charts and reaching number three in the UK. It alao initially received mixed reviews from critics, many of whom felt it was pretentious and pretentious, it was later hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time.

Relevant articles:

– TIL Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright was fired from the band by Roger Waters during album production for “The Wall” but stayed on as a salaried musician. Wright stayed on salary for the Album’s elaborate tour and was thus the only member of the band to profit from it, which lost about £400,000.
