Prioritize portability.

While airplane footrests may make your flight more enjoyable and comfortable, it’s equally important to prioritize portability (to save your future self from having to lug around bulky items or sacrifice precious carry-on space ). Keep in mind how well a product sets up, breaks down, and will be carried from point A to your final destination. 

Consider any multiple function

Most portable airplane footrests can be used at home under your desk or in the car (as a passenger). Inflatable footrests can sometimes be used as toddler beds on planes, or, in a pinch, as makeshift seats. Some pillow footrests can function as knee support when you’re stretched out on the couch, as a booster seat, or as a back support pillow, too.

Inflatable footrests can be placed in front of a seat to create a balloon of support, much like a blow-up pillow or mattress. Hammocks usually hang down from the tray table and cradle your feet. Pillow footrests are a foam pillow that is placed in the footwell of your seat.

In this title, gamers are tested in almost every facet of the game, which looks to push the boundaries of the genre and offer some unique but tough mechanics that some players may not be accustomed to.

It is no secret that No Rest For The Wicked is a pretty tough game to master and is particularly unforgiving, something that much of the player base find out before they can even get out of the prologue. With this in mind, many will be searching for a way to fast-travel from one location to another to avoid some of the tougher adversaries in the game. In order for players to make use of the fast-travel system in No Rest For The Wicked , they must first finish the prologue and enter the city of Sacrament . Only once they have done this, which requires beating a very tough boss battle against Warrick The Torn , will they be able to interact with the primary Whisper and unlock this popular game mechanic.

The primary Whisper in Sacrament can be found by venturing to the right as you enter the city, then taking the first left to head deeper into the settlement. The Whisper is not too far into the city and is easily recognizable by the blue tendrils of light that reach out to the player from it. Once you have located it, simply press the indicated button (Triangle on PS, Y on Xbox), and fast-travel will be unlocked. This will be made evident by the pop-up window explaining how it works.

Fast-traveling in No Rest For The Wicked is a relatively simple process, but it does come with some unique conditions that are not often seen in RPGs. Nonetheless, to perform this action, players will only need to interact with a Whisper checkpoint and select the Fast-Travel option .

It is worth noting that No Rest For The Wicked is not designed to be your standard action RPG and looks to test the skills and strategy of its players, from combat and movement mechanics to gear maintenance , which is evident in how the fast-travel mechanics in the game work. Unlike other standard games in the genre that allow for many fast-travel points, usually in major landmarks or settlements within the world, No Rest For The Wicked limits players to having just one channel from which you can move back and forth.

Fast-traveling in No Rest For The Wicked will allow you to only t eleport from the primary Whisper to the last Whisper that the player interacted with whilst exploring outside the walls of the city. While this may be inconvenient for players who want to go to a particular point in the game that isn't progressing the story, it does enable the ability to quickly go back to the city to upgrade weapons and armor , stock up on any necessary supplies, or interact with important NPCs throughout the game.

While No Rest for the Wicked has been released for all of us to try and enjoy, there is a mechanic that probably Moon Studios didn’t intend to release as well. Let us take a look at how you can fast-travel anywhere in No Rest for the Wicked – at least for now.

How to fast travel in No Rest for the Wicked

While the devs will certainly patch this in the future, fast traveling in No Rest for the Wicked is very simple – and extremely broken. All you have to do is hover at any place on the map and press the left analog stick in your controller . This worked on my Xbox Series X controller and my DualSense controller and it is not doable with a keyboard. You won’t find any in-game indication that you can do so. Moreover, when you access the map, there is no text or prompt that tells you that you can fast travel , which indicates this might be a developer feature or something like that.

This means that if you find yourself stuck at any place on the map, or you find an area that is inaccessible due to you requiring some keys or dropping a ladder of sorts – in the current state of the game – you can just open up your map and hover over the area that you want to travel to . Of course, while this “mechanic” might sound all nice and great, it totally breaks the game entirely. Do you need a key to enter a certain area? No problem, just fast travel. Do you want to explore an area on the other side of the world? I got you, my friend, time for some teleportation!

You will probably end up finding enemies that are far more powerful than you and you will spoil a lot of the game, but hey, it is possible at the moment . If you want to have some unintentional fun, then by all means, try this at least once. For the sake of the game, though, I hope the developers patch this as soon as possible. Thankfully, this is just an Early Access release, so let’s hope that No Rest for the Wicked does not become No Limits for the Lazy – get it?

How to complete Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked is a tough game, and I don’t say that just because of the bosses. Something as simple as traversal is a puzzle.

If you’re interested in completing Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked , you have been playing for long enough to realize that bosses can easily annihilate you if you’re not paying attention. Blink or doze off for even a moment, and your character gets squished. But traversing to quest objectives isn’t any easier, making completing side quests like Of Rats and Raiders and main quests like Servant of God challenging. Though you may see Madrigal Seline’s location on the map, getting there is a whole different story. Plus, you can’t rule out the possibility of running into formidable bosses like Warrick the Torn along the way. In this guide, I’ll show you how to complete Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked .

How to start Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked

After traveling past The Shallows and Mariner’s Keep, defeating Warrick the Torn, you reach Sacrament, No Rest for the Wicked’s main city.

At this point, you get intercepted by an Inquisition detachment who insist you speak with Madrigal Seline and give you the Servant of God quest.

I strongly recommend tackling any other available side quests until you reach level 10 or above before embarking on this quest. Defeating D arak , for instance, can give you a nice EXP boost and legendary gear.

Complete the Wheel Puzzle in Servant of God

After speaking with Malec, be on the lookout for prisoners on the loose. You also must solve the Wheel Puzzle to reach the next area in No Rest for the Wicked .

After a cutscene, Madrigal Seline tasks you with finding the Hidden Chamber nearby. Follow these steps to complete this No Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked :

Riven Twins boss fight in Servant of God

The key to beating the Riven Twins in No Rest for the Wicked is to wait for them to deal the sweep attack, approach, deal three to five quick blows, and retreat. Don’t stand too far away; this prompts them to deal ranged magic damage.

I managed to beat them at level 13, but having a slow two-hand weapon didn’t help.

With the Riven Twins defeated, interact with the altar above. Then, use the path you created outside the altar room and speak with Madrigal Seline to complete Servant of God in No Rest for the Wicked .

No Rest For The Wicked does not pull any punches, and you will find a large gate stopping you from leaving Mariner’s keep. This guide will walk you through the whole process of where you will need to go, who you will need to speak to, and what you will need to do to get through to the other side and continue the story.

How to open the mariner’s keep gate.

Mariner’s Keep will be one of the first locations you will explore in No Rest For The Wicked . Unfortunately, there is also a large iron gate that will stop you from being able to leave the area. You will need to pull a lever in order to open it. However, as fate should have it, the lever is broken.

You will need to explore your surroundings and kill all the enemies that cross your path until you can find a new lever to replace it. There are plenty of items lying on the ground, one of which is the key to the Storage Room . As you make your way around the map, you will find the door to the Mess Hall . You will discover that this door is unfortunately locked, and you will need to find the Mess Hall Key to get inside.

Where to Find the Mess Hall Key

First, head to the large bonfire , located to the west of the large iron gate leading out of Mariner’s Keep. If you have not yet seen this bonfire, it can be located by traveling to the rightmost side of Mariner's Keep. The map below shows exactly where you need to get to:

While you are at this bonfire, you may hear a commotion going on. Head down towards the locked door, and you will see three enemies attacking an NPC — this is Fillmore the Blacksmith. Help him out, and you will be able to repair your items . You will need to open the door between the two of you if you want to save him, and that will require a specific key.

Travel to the right of the bonfire to arrive at the large iron gate. There will be a road that heads south. Follow it all the way down to an archway with a wooden balcony just past it. To the left side will be a corpse that you can inspect to find the Mess Hall Key. You can now head back to where Fillmore is and open the Mess Hall.

Once you gain entry to the mess hall, dispatch the enemies harming Fillmore, and then speak with him. After exhausting his dialog about how you should get to Sacrament , he will give you the Gate Lever Handle. This will be your ticket to opening the gate and getting out of Mariner’s Keep. You will also have the option to buy, sell, repair, and talk to Fillmore. Later in the game, you will also be able to upgrade your weapons and armor by speaking with him in Sacrament.

Before going to the gate, check through Fillmore’s wares. He’s got some great early-game items to consider getting. This includes some tools such as a Fishing Rod, Pickaxe, and Woodcutter’s Axe ; along with some recipes that you can make at a Fire Pit.

Leave the mess hall and head to the right side of the bonfire. You will see a ruined wagon that you can run up to get onto the wall. Once you have gotten up onto the wall, head up the stairs to the right towards the ruined tower. Take the first right turn you see to start heading down, and you will find a spot you can interact with to use the Gate Lever Handle that you got from Fillmore. This will cause the gate to open, and you can be on your way.

Don't overwater; don't give up: Travelers Rest's Wilder Plant Shop gives plant care tips

If your green thumb isn’t all that green, a little research can be the difference between a verdant houseplant and a withered one. 

Mary Dunlap, owner of Wilder Plant Shop, which opened on South Main Street in Travelers Rest in January, can attest to that as a plant lover whose business grew from her pandemic hobby.

“A plant won't just survive if you put it in a corner and hope it grows,” Dunlap said. “It requires research and understanding of where it comes from and what its natural habitat is, and then trying to emulate that or recreate that in your own space.”

Dunlap’s shop is located on the back end of The Good Market, a homegoods and gift shop specializing in items from woman-owned businesses, owned by her friend Jenny Walsh. 

Wilder Plant Shop carries a variety of houseplant options including beginner-friendly plants and plants that require more expert care. 

“I like to carry plants like everyday plants that you could buy anywhere like a snake plant or a Bird of paradise or Monstera, but then I also really like to carry those rare things that there's no way you could find them in a Lowe's or even a local nursery,” Dunlap said. 

Here are four tips for your best houseplant experience yet:

Don’t overwater

Dunlap says the number one mistake she sees new plant owners making is overwatering.

“I feel like a lot of people get a plant and then they feel like they just need to water it and water it and water it and help it, but a lot of times, it can create root rot, which then, in turn, damages your plant and will kill it eventually,” Dunlap said. “A lot of plants .. like to be ignored or even neglected and then revitalized with a fresh watering.”

If you’re prone to overwatering, Dunlap suggests giving your new houseplant one watering when you first bring it home and then setting a reminder on your phone for two weeks out and leave it alone until the alarm goes off.

Pick a spot, then pick a plant

There are sun-loving houseplants and shade-loving houseplants, so it’s important to know your plant’s preference and where it can receive that light. 

Regardless of your home’s lighting situation, a plant expert can help you find a plant that will work for you.

For sunny spots, Dunlap recommended cacti or succulents. For half-sun, half-shade, go for a ficus or a fiddle leaf fig. Try a philodendron, snake plant, or fern for shady rooms.

Start small

While you might be tempted to pick out an established plant for your first houseplant, Dunlap recommends starting with a young plant.

“For a first-time owner, I would start small,” Dunlap said. “You can see the growth a lot easier than you would with a very large plant and it happens a lot faster.”

Don’t give up

Plant care takes practice and research to become proficient. Dunlap encourages plant owners experiencing setbacks to keep trying and seek help from their local plant shop. 

“I think it's safe to say that even people who have a green thumb have killed plants. So, to just not get discouraged, would be a huge solution that I would offer,” Dunlap said.
