Best 2 Nights Spent in RIU Jambo”

Just Pros! They take care of you exceptionally so well, You can use the facilities before check-in, so come early have lunch and while checking out you can stay and use the facilities till 6 pm. There are number of activities planned on throughout the day so do download the RIU app to be well informed. Bookings of the restaurants open at 12 am, so be early and book the restaurant through the app. This can only be done once you have checked in which can be done before you reach the hotel and once you have a room number. Love how the staff were proactive and attentive when you are having the meals.

I loved everything about this place. No complaints. The beach had seaweed floating in it some days - seemed to be weather dependent. It wasn’t awful but it was less nice than the other days when it was absolutely perfect. The drink cups at the beach bar were too small. That is literally all I can think of that could use improvement. It was truly spectacular. The best resort place we have ever been.

Il est en outre vivement conseillé de se faire vacciner contre la fièvre typhoïde et de se refaire vacciner contre la polio, le tétanos et la diphtérie. Toute personne qui voyage en Tanzanie est priée de détenir une carte de vaccination valable de la fièvre jaune à son arrivée, si au cours de la semaine avant l’arrivée en Tanzanie une région visitée est touchée par la fièvre jaune. Vaccin et preuve de vaccination contre la fièvre jaune requis si vous visitez le continent de Tanzanie ou tout autre pays qui l’exige, outre Zanzibar. Cette formalité est également obligatoire si vous venez d’un pays où cette affection est inexistante, donc depuis la Belgique ou depuis n’importe quel autre pays. Prenez aussi les mesures nécessaires pour vous protéger contre la malaria. Certaines vaccinations doivent être effectuées bien avant votre départ. La mer: sur la côte est et ouest de Zanzibar se retire plusieurs fois par jour, si bien qu’il n’est pas possible de nager à ces moments-là. En revanche, vous pouvez effectuer une longue balade sur le récif. Nous vous recommandons d’emmener des chaussures d’eau pour vous protéger des oursins et des coraux.

Electricité: 220 Volt. Fiches à trois pôles épais. Vous avez besoin d'un adaptateur.

Climat: l'archipel de Zanzibar jouit d'un climat tropical toute l'année durant.

Monnaie locale: la monnaie nationale est le Shilling tanzanien: 1.000 TZS = ± € 0,39 (septembre 2023). Les dollars américains et les euros sont acceptés presque partout (sauf les billets de dollar datés d'avant 2006). La plupart des hôtels acceptent les cartes de crédits tels que Mastercard et Visa. La carte American Express n'est pas couramment acceptée. Attention: dans les lodges on demande souvent un acompte à payer par carte de crédit. Vu que la liaison n'est pas toujours assez forte, retirer de l'argent ou payer par carte de crédit est parfois impossible. Munissez-vous donc de suffisamment d'argent en espèces.

Décalage horaire: en hiver, +2 heures de décalage avec la Belgique. En été, +1 heure de décalage avec la Belgique.

Langue: à Zanzibar l'anglais est la langue véhiculaire. Le Kiswahili est la langue officielle et est parlée par la majorité de la population. Mais presque chaque tribu à son propre dialecte. Les hôtels vous accueilleront en anglais sans problème.

Cuisine: Zanzibar est surnommée 'l’île aux épices'. Il n’est donc pas étonnant que de nombreuses épices soient utilisées dans la cuisine locale.
