“Best Choice for Lunch While Tubing” Review of Resto Safari

Unless you want to eat fries (or poutine), this is your other choice. The service was pretty quick. The soup was delicious; sandwich o.k. Sons had roast chicken that they liked.

I have to say the food was pretty good...but tables were dirty and not reset for next service. They could not seem to get a rythme going so the wait staff could actually serve the customers. I guess over time they will figure it out. But they were nice and apologized, food was good and we ate on vacation so I guess who cares.

Literally my first experience at the restaurant was with a girl who was speaking rudely about me in French obviously not realizing I'm bilingual. I asked them not to put jalapeno on my nachos and they came with jalapenos. Once I got them back they looked like they just took out the top layer and gave them back to me. All the food was below average including a caesar salad which is pretty hard to mess up. Our waiter was pretty good and give us some juice and cake for the kids. Decorations are dated and the theme is only half done. Not worth the effort. We went back for breakfast in the morning and it was absolutely terrible. Some of the food was so bad that you couldn't even eat it. Our waiter never came so we have to ask other people for coffee and clear our own plates. We had to ask for the bill from what looks like the manager and didn't end up leaving much of a tip. Definitely not recommended however no other options for breakfast. As I'm writing this I'm tempted to change my reading to 1.

So so experience. They give you a bread in a plastic bag! Not good. The main meals are decent . Breakfast is decent. Doesn’t match the quality of rest of hotel. We hated the “Safari” look. Was a mistake to choose this cheesy type of decor, when everything else is contemporary.

We had supper at this restaurant during our stay at valcartier, family of 4 (2+2) The food tasted good, service was very good, but the portions were small, except for the kids it was descent, and we found it a bit pricy for what we got. nice decor and ambiance , but we won`t eat there when we return!!

One of the only places you can eat when we visited Hotel De Glace. Service was very quick and we liked the African safari theme. Serving size was also generous for the value. However, we thought that the menu lacked variety. It would have been better if there were more pastas and if there were beef ribs. We also thought that the food was just average. Other than that, it is decent for a meal

Resto Safari was by far the culinary highlight of my cultural experience in Quebec. The African theme really showed me what traditional Quebec food is like. The decor was stunning. The service was impeccable. And best of all, the food exuded the essence of the Sahara Desert as the chicken was drier than sand. Tearing apart the stiff meat with my teeth made me feel like I was the safari animal. What more could you ask for from a safari experience! I absolutely loved it! The coleslaw was slightly stale and sour which I just thought was so thoughtful of the staff to keep the theme consistent as it tasted like it sat in the sun for a day - just like in a real safari! I truly felt like a lion was going to jump out the kitchen at any moment - could hardly tell I was in the middle of Quebec!

We ordered the family meal deal (chicken) and it was great ! The fries and coleslaw were excellent ! Chicken and sauce were delicious too. Service was fast and our waitress Frederique was polite and perfectly bilingual. Five stars !!!

Great! We had chicken wings and they were scrumptious. Prices reasonable and conveniently located within the water resort.

We stopped in for a late dinner. Our waitress seemed exceedingly grumpy and our food was coming out either over cooked or having sat for a long period of time.

I had lunch here last week and tried the poutine with chicken - it was amazing! This location is by far better than the regular cafeteria section at Valcartier and worth slightly higher prices. Service was slow, but it was also very busy.

I assumed a resort restaurant would be expensive, but it seemed on par for Quebec where everything seems to be expensive. The food was decent. Large portions. Service was slow. But I feel like everything was as expected for a resort restaurant.

We had drinks and snacks here after tubing. The drinks were good, the onion rings were great! Good place to warm up after playing outside.

Reasonable food and service for supper and breakfast. Bilingual staff, good selection on menu but no one told us there was a breakfast buffet! Not fine dining but ok

Most aggravating meal I’ve had in years. Waitress did not wear a mask, just a visor, so when she was standing at our booth over me, her mouth was 1 foot from mine uncovered. The good - nice decorations, breakfast buffet decent (one day), but sub-par the next. The bad - overcooked toast bread and fries, one night I went for a reservation but nobody came to the counter even they looked at me. Some people are staying at... the bar where no masks are required, but sugar or coffee sticks are right under their noses. The mask was required but people used the same tools to pick up food from the buffet. I did order a full rib but the quantity on my plate was not even close to what they advertise. But since is the only choice around you have no choice but to go there and hope for the best. More

Good resort but the Resturant is terrible.The amount of flys in this Resturant is unbelievable. The Resturant should be shut down with that amount of flys. To begin with, the food is so expensive and has no taste. With all those flys, their server is... mandating you to give her $10.95 tip, which I don’t mind if the experience is positive. Nobody should eat there.!! Stay away!!they deserve zero rating. More

We ate here several times. The food was mediocre. If you want a drink you will only get 2 small capfuls of liquor. The people are not friendly or nice. They will not go out of their way to try to make you happy. If... I ever come back I will not eat here again. Poor service and tiny pours of liquor and bad attitudes have spoiled Val Cartier for me forever. More

To start, it took a while to get service, even though the place was not busy at that time. The salads were drenched in dressing. The added chicken was cold and scarce for the price. But the worst part, were the flies that kept curvilinear... our tables and plates. We could not eat in peace! It made us agitated and the whole experience unpleasant. Would not recommend. More

They sat us and we waited 45 minutes before they mentioned it will be 15 more minutes due to fryer breaking. They kept seating people and no one bothered to speak to us or offer an explanation. Terrible customer service. we only stayed because my... daughter would get ill in the car without eating. More

This is the default place for breakfast lunch and diner when you stay at Village Val Cartier - the other options are terrible. Despite going 4 times in 2 days we appreciated the service and the food quality is at par with the price.

Do not eat their salad. It's awful, not washed cost me 21.00 dollars. rip off, do not eat there and put a picture as proof

Tasted like my food had cleaner contamination like it had bleach. Staff was friendly. Went home unfed inedible and feeling sick after 3 bites.

We got the wrong order, the staff didn't seem to like speaking English, but we were starving after being on the go all day. Kids were hungry 2hrs later. My ceaser was great!

Read the horrible reviews but with very limited options, we went here. Service, eh. Food, less than desirable. We had salmon with rice and vegetables, chicken caesar salad, and kids poutine. All disappointing.

Most of the options on the menu is fried. Not as many healthy options as we would like. The waitress was really nice.

Everything on the breakfast buffet was horrible!!! Servers were great! If you stay at the hotel- try to avoid this resto- so as not to spoil your stay.

was there a year ago, it was super, since then got sold and food and service is now terrible. Sour chicken wings, my son never got is juice I paid for, cold cofee , frozen desserts only and all this seemed real normal to staff

Unless you want to eat fries (or poutine), this is your other choice. The service was pretty quick. The soup was delicious; sandwich o.k. Sons had roast chicken that they liked.
