What an experience! Booked a 5D tour of Mulu with Borneo Adventure. Spent close to a month planning the trip with our guide Disney Jaboh in Kuching. Disney was a rock star - super patient, incredibly warm and very kind. He addressed all our million questions and helped us craft the perfect tour itinerary to our exact specifications. In time, talking with him was just like speaking with an old friend! We even met him for dinner in Kuching to say hi and say thanks for the memories. During the tour, we were assigned to Nelson, a super experienced guide. Again, 5/5 stars here -- he was the perfect guide and we were so so thankful to have him with us. In 20+ years of travelling to 20+ countries, Borneo Adventure is hands down in the top 3 of private tour companies I've ever engaged. They are not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get.

Could not recommend them highly enough.... we'll definitely be back for a future tour with Borneo Adventure!

An unforgettable experience, breathtaking nature, wonderfully taken cared of by the whole team

We spent unforgettable 4 days in the Batang Ai area, with its breathtakingly beautiful rivers and jungle. We were impressed by the organisation of Borneo Adventure, the huge knowledge of our guide Bayang, and the skilled Iban longboat drivers. We learned so much about the flora and fauna, about the culture and life of the Iban people, even how they cook food in bamboo sticks. The lodge and the camp are both wonderful, the meals really delicious, and all the staff very friendly, relaxed and eager to help. We can highly recommend Borneo Adventure, last and not least because they involve and work together with the Iban people in a sustainable manner.

Great Tours with Great Guides

We did two trips with Borneo Adventure while we were away, both were amazing (Mulu Showcaves 2D1N and Tanjung Datu 3D2N) and highly recommended. The caves and wildlife at Mulu were amazing and our guide Nelson was really great and really knowledgeable. Tanjung Datu is just a special place. Again our guide Lemon was amazing who our made the trip with his cooking, knowledge and conversation. We would use them again 100%.

BORNEO , a giant, rugged island in Southeast Asia’s Malay Archipelago, is known for its beaches and biodiverse rainforest where thousands of wildlife called home. The Sabah region of Borneo is quite rugged and the third largest island in Asia isn’t much explored, but the tropical Sabah wildlife is some of the most diverse. Sabah, Borneo has so much more to offer to wildlife-seekers and adventure enthusiasts.

HIKE UP MOUNT KINABALU

A majestic mountain located at the West Coast Division of Sabah, Mount Kinabalu is one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing at 4095.2 meters and has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status. First-time climbers are advised to consider staying at Kinabalu Park or a highland resort at Kundasang one night prior to the climb to acclimatize the high altitude. Take it up a notch with Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata , which provides access to scenic sections of the mountains that are typically made available only to mountaineers. It is also known as the world’s highest and Asia’s first via ferrata. This challenging route offers both Walk the Torq and Low’s Peak Circuit packages fitting for both beginners and intermediate climbers respectively. If you are a thrill-seeker, this is should be one of the top things in your bucket list!

BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS

If climbing or hiking is not your thing, activities such as paragliding, white water rafting at Kiulu or Padas rivers, quad biking on the terrains, or even scuba diving and island hopping are among the few activities you can choose from. Explore beautiful islands where you can find the most beautiful corals and swim alongside sea turtles. Look no further than the Lankayan Dive Resort at Lankayan Island or the Sipadan Island, Mabul Island , Kapalai Island , Mataking Island and Pom Pom Island for your fun island adventures.

ICONIC BORNEO WILDLIFE

Moving on to the east coast of Sabah, here we can witness that Borneo is truly a land blessed with wonderful eco treasures – from scenic islands to wildlife encounters and nature treks. Moreover, there is an amazing array of endangered and endemic Borneo wildlife such as the Orang Utans , Proboscis Monkeys, Bornean Sun Bear, sea turtles, and Bornean Pygmy Elephants . 

Take a one day trip and learn more about these animals at Sepilok , Sun Bear Conservation Center , Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary , and Gomantong Cave . Selingan Island turtle hatcheries area also not to be missed if you are keen on witnessing turtles hatching and baby sea turtles being released back into the sea. Or opt to stay overnight at Kinabatangan River which is called the longest river in Sabah Borneo. This river is known as one of the most exciting and easily accessible places to explore the rich biodiversity of Sabah. Go on river safaris and night walks around the resort for wildlife spotting, even though wildlife spotting is not guaranteed but you will be assured of a nice escape from the busy city. Depending on your budget, you can choose to stay between Sukau, Bilit or Abai , these lodges are all located along the Kinabatangan River.

Looking for a nice getaway at one of Borneo Forest Reserve? Danum Valley Conservation Center’s Borneo Rainforest lodge and Tabin Wildlife Reserve are one of our top picks. These lodges provide a nice combination of luxury and wildlife spotting. Both lodges offer a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy the nice outdoors. The mud volcano at Tabin is one not to be missed. If you are keen to get off the tourist tracks to spot for wildlife, take a few days overnight trip to Deramakot Forest Reserve or Danum Valley Field Center. Even though the lodging is simple but it will leave you with an unforgettable experience.

1400hrs we start our Bario Discovery tours by visiting a Kelabit Longhouse ,the Penan Settlement and other villages while witnessing the paddy field that produce the Bario rice along the way.

Overland Lawas by 4X4WD to Merarap Hot Spring. 2 hours Journey. Arrive at Merarap Hot Spring and Lunch. Afternoon take some short treks around the area and late evening take a deep soak in the Hot Spring pool.

After Breakfast we pick you up from your Hotel Lobby in Miri and proceed to Long Bedian by 4WD. Long Bedian is located up the Apoh Tutoh Region of Baram District with 90% are Kayan population.

The oldest human remains in Asia as well as remains of Borneo’s prehistoric animals were found here, making the Niah Caves one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.

CPH Travel Agencies (S) Sdn Bhd is a family run business established in the year 1968. As Sarawak’s pioneer and leading tour operator, we believe in a long lasting partnership based on trust and teamwork. And we hope to be a part of your hospitality plan in providing our fellow guests a memorable stay and unforgettable experience in Kuching. We have a strong and growing team of 50 professionals which consist of office management, in house guides and well trained chauffeurs.

Our tours and services include hotel reservations, ticketing, boat rental, limousine services and all sorts of local tours readymade for our visitors. Our facilities include custom built tour coaches, mini vans, saloon cars, and a small armada of modern fiberglass boats. With the largest manpower in the industry, we are sure that we will be able to assist in making your guests arrival till departures as flawless as possible. And if required, we will be able to gain support from other transport operators who we have been working closely and with the exception that they are at least at par with our standards.

The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, and the Kuching Chinatown. Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and through Old Kuching, passing the Gambier Street with spice dealers. Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office.

Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse Tour

Annah Rais is a large Bidayuh (Land Dayak) village about 45 minutes from Kuching. The focal point of the village is a large and well-preserved traditional bamboo longhouse which is home to dozens of families. This guided tour introduces visitors to the unique architectural and cultural features of the longhouse and the traditional farming lifestyle of the Bidayuh people.

Semenggoh Wildlife Center

(0730hrs – 1030hrs / 1330hrs – 1630hrs i half-day).

• Fitness Level: Easy (Wildlife)
• Feeding session: 0900hrs / 1500hrs (one hour each session)
• Note: As the orang utan in Semenggoh are semi-wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
• Rate: MYR 135.00 per person

Semenggoh is known as one of the best places in Sarawak to view semi-wild orang utans, who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. There is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orangutan mother with a young baby. The centre is about 45 minutes’ drive from the city centre.

Sarawak Cultural Village

This award-winning living museum showcases Sarawak’s unique and diverse cultures in an accessible, visitor-friendly setting just 45 minutes from Kuching. This trip of about 3 hours explores the many branches of the Santubong and Salak River Delta systems as they join the South China Sea. Enjoy a close view of the heavily silted mangrove Swamp which is a safe haven to the myriad creatures like the reptiles, mud skippers, crabs, shell fish, monkeys, etc. The mangrove swamp sustains many different species of trees. The main species are of course the black and red mangrove, locally known as the ‘Bako’. They are used in the construction industry for piling and also as charcoal for cooking and other usage. Often mistaken as a wasteland, the tidal swamps in which mangrove thrive; enjoy a symbiotic relationship with prawns, fish and other coastal organisms. The Irrawaddy, or snubfin dolphin, inhabits rivers, estuaries and shallow coastal areas. The Santubong area is one of the best places in Sarawak to view this unusual looking marine mammal. The dolphins are often seen swimming and diving around small fishing boats in the estuary. Occasionally they are seen playing in the open water. Visitors will need a keen eye to spot the dolphins at first, but after a short wait they can often be seen surfacing all around the boat. Return to the Boat Club for transfer to your hotel.

Evening Santubong Wildlife Cruise

(1600hrs – 1930hrs i half-day).

• Note: Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, although we usually enjoy a high success rate. Wildlife commonly seen on this tour includes proboscis monkeys, estuarine crocodiles, macaque monkeys, fireflies, monitor lizards, silver-leaf monkeys. Irrawaddy dolphins and a range of bird life like White Belly Eagle, White Egret, Seagull, Kingfisher etc.. Cruises do not operate during rainy weather.

STA (Sarawak Tourist Association), founded in 1964, was reorganized in 2004 to become STF (Sarawak Tourism Federation); membership to STA was open to individuals while STF comprises mainly of tourism-related associations.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — He didn’t say so directly, but the message was clear: Tom Watson, eight-time major winner, suggested to other former Masters winners on Tuesday night that their gathering together should not be so rare.

He was referring to the state of the game, and the divide between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf League.

“We all know golf is fractured with the LIV Tour and PGA Tour doing the different things they are doing,” Watson said Thursday after he joined Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player to hit ceremonial opening tee shots at Augusta National.

“I got up at the Champions Dinner, and it was really a wonderful event,” Watson said. “We were sitting down and we were having great stories about Seve Ballesteros and people were laughing and talking. I said to Mr. (Fred) Ridley, I said, "Do you mind if I say something about being here together with everybody?”

He said, "Please do.”

“And I got up and I said—I'm looking around the room, and I'm seeing just a wonderful experience everybody is having. They are jovial. They are having a great time. They are laughing. I said, 'Ain't it good to be together again?' And there was kind of a pall from the joviality, and it quieted down, and then Ray Floyd got up and it was time to leave.

“And in a sense, I hope that the players themselves took that to say, you know, we have to do something. We have to do something.

“We all know it's a difficult situation for professional golf right now. The players really kind of have control I think in a sense. What do they want to do? We'll see where it goes. We don't have the information or the answers. I don't think the PGA Tour or the LIV Tour really have an answer right now.

“But I think in this room, I know the three of us want to get together. We want to get together like we were at that Champions Dinner, happy, the best players playing against each other. The bottom line: that's what we want in professional golf, and right now, we don't have it.”

LIV Golf is now in its third year and there are 13 players in the Masters field who are members of that league, including defending champion Jon Rahm , who hosted the dinner on Tuesday.

This is the first time, for example, that Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka are competing in the same tournament since last year’s British Open at Royal Liverpool.

Nicklaus said he recently saw PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and said he didn’t want to know what is going on because “I don’t to have to lie to the press when they ask me about it.”

“The best outcome is the best players play against each other all the time,” Nicklaus said. “That's what I feel about it. And how it's going, I don't know.”

Player, who has represented Golf Saudi—which is funded by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which backs LIV Golf—has nonetheless at times been critical of players who went to LIV for their lack of loyalty to the PGA Tour.

He also believes a deal is necessary.

“It's very simple. Anytime in any business whatsoever, not only in the golf business, there's confrontation, it's unhealthy,” Player said. “You've got to get together and come to a solution. If you cannot—it's not good. The public don't like it, and we as professionals don't like it, either.

“But it's a big problem because they paid all these guys to join the LIV Tour fortunes, I mean, beyond one's comprehension and the players that were loyal ... now these guys come back and play, I really believe the players, that if they are loyal, should be compensated in some way or another; otherwise, there's going to be dissension.”

There already is, which is one part of the discourse that is ongoing.

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Health Department confirmed the detection of active Burkholderia pseudomallei bacteria at the rugby field in Tanjung Aru.

The bacteria is a causative agent of melioidosis, an infectious disease that could lead to death if not treated early.

According to the state health director, Datuk Dr Asits Sanna, they were notified of the case on March 11 after a player came in sick after playing at the rugby field.

“The patient disclosed that he was suffering a leg injury while playing rugby, and we believe that may have caused the infection,” said Dr Asits, in a statement, on Sunday (April 13) responding to a Facebook posting over the issuance of an Environmental Control for Melioidosis Infection Disease at the rugby field.

Dr Asits added that as of the 14th Epidemiology Week (ME) this year, the department registered a total of 44 melioidosis cases across the state, which is an increase of 12.8%, compared to 39 cases recorded during the same period last year.

“Sandakan tops the list of the most recorded cases with 12 incidences, followed by Kota Kinabalu (11), five each in Papar and Penampang, and two each in Sipitang and Keningau,” he said.

Melioidosis, also called Whitmore's disease, is an infectious disease that can infect humans or animals and is caused by the Burkholderia pseudomallei bacteria, which is found in contaminated soil and water.

Infection often occurs during the rainy season and infection can be transmitted through the respiratory tract (dust or contaminated water droplets), consuming contaminated water, or through wounds.

“Those suffering chronic diseases such as diabetes, thalassemia, cancer, liver, kidney, or other low body immunity illnesses have a higher risk of getting sick,” he said.

Among the symptoms are high fever, chronic cough, loss of appetite, abdominal or chest pain, muscle or joint pain, headache, and extreme tiredness, to mention some.

Dr Asits however said that the disease can be treated by taking certain antibiotics, and advised those with the symptoms to seek immediate treatment before their condition gets worse.

“For now, avoid exposure to contaminated soil and water sources, especially those with wounds on the skin, or chronic disease sufferers.

“Those who work involving contaminated soil and water resources should use waterproof shoes, gloves and face masks. If there are wounds on the body, wash and cover it perfectly,” he said.

The department will continue to monitor and enhance its awareness programmes to educate people about the disease.

Mexican hitmakers Fuerza Regida are hitting arenas across the United States later this summer, Variety can exclusively reveal.

Dubbed the “Pero No Te Enamores” (“But Don’t Fall in Love”) tour, Fuerza Regida will bring their new age corridos to arenas starting June 6 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. They’ll hit major cities including Atlanta (State Farm Arena), Tampa (Amalie Arena), and Anaheim (Honda Center), with a closing date in Los Angeles’ new Intuit Dome venue on Nov. 16.

In the last few months, the band has been riding high off the release of their 2023 record, “Pa la Baby’s Y Belikeada,” which included the highly successful single, “Harley Quinn” with Marshmello.
