50 Years of Hampton Coliseum Events
Numerous musicians have graced the Hampton Coliseum stage for concerts of every magnitude. From the local Peninsula Symphony Orchestra to worldwide sensations like Elvis Presley , Garth Brooks , and Michael Jackson , every experience is different from the last. Some groups like the Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead have released live recordings of their concerts at Hampton Coliseum, preserving their iconic performances for audiences to enjoy for years to come. The Hampton Roads landmark stands as a mecca for devoted music fans. Dedicated followers of bands like Grateful Dead and Phish flock to "The Mothership,” named for the building’s spaceship-like exterior. The Grateful Dead performed 21 concerts at Hampton Coliseum between 1979 and 1992 including their now-famous 1989 shows. Dead & Company continues their musical legacy, most recently performing to nearly soldout crowds in 2019. Phish released the live album Hampton Comes Alive from their back-to-back 1998 shows as well as chose Hampton Coliseum as the site of their 2009 reunion. The band has performed at the venue 21 times between 1995 and 2018. In the past few years, the electronic/bass music DJ known as Bassnectar brought weekends of Basslights and Bass Center to the Mothership, with avid fans embracing the “alien” and “spaceship” themes. Not just a music hub, the Coliseum has hosted thousands of other events including recurring sporting events like Monster Jam and Professional Bull Riders, as well as family shows like Disney On Ice and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Bow Wow Sniffs Out A Trail For Tour With B2K
Bow Wow and B2K have finalized the itinerary for their Scream 2 Tour, which will crisscross the country from the end of July to the end of September.
The ambitious outing — currently boasting 35 dates — will also feature IMX (see [article id="1453258"]"Bow Wow Drops The Lil', Collars Tour Dates"[/article]) and newcomer Jhene, a cousin of B2K's Lil' Fizz who will finish recording her debut album before the tour kicks off July 25 in Memphis, Tennessee, according to Columbia Records.
Bow Wow is supporting Doggy Bag, released in December, and his latest single, "Take Ya Home," though he will also be garnering attention with his star role in "Like Mike," in theaters July 12.
B2K, who joined Bow Wow on last year's Scream Tour (when he was still Lil' Bow Wow) and in his video for "Ghetto Girls," are promoting their self-titled debut album, released in March, and their latest single, "Why I Love You."
The R&B quartet — Lil' Fizz, J-Boog, Raz-B and Omarion — will also release "Introducing B2K," a DVD featuring the "Uh Huh" and "Gots Ta Be" videos along with other footage, on Tuesday.
Before launching the Scream 2 Tour, B2K will open for Destiny's Child on several European dates this summer.

The R&K Guide To Moscow
The World Cup is upon us, but you could argue that it’s already a relic from another era, a time when Putin was looking for peaceable engagement with the West, before he annexed Crimea and unleashed his trolls on the world. But if ordinary Russians are supposed to play the part of pariah, they haven’t been told. It has been a long time since Moscow was this pleasant to visit. The city center is safe, sanitized, ready for your visit. Yes, the calm is a sign of an increasingly efficient autocracy. But we’ve known Moscow through many iterations, and for the casual visitor, this is one of the best yet. (Visit our St. Petersburg guide here.)
