While students are working hard in class, they can simply gaze out the classroom window and be reminded of why they chose to pursue a degree in ocean engineering. Or, they can take to the sea and discover what ocean engineering is all about with research experiences in a lab, on a boat and in the waves.

Academic benefits include:

  • Small campus atmosphere with less than 2,500 students
  • Unlimited hands-on education and field experience with the coastal environment in their backyard
  • Access to faculty and resources to enhance one-on-one education experience

  • 993lauris 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Real spooky scary fun Haunted Mayfield Manor is a must-visit for anyone who loves a good scare. Located inside a makeshift morgue, this haunted house is truly one of a kind. My kids had a blast, but they also got scared silly by the frightening sights and sounds they encountered inside. The attention to detail in the haunted house is impressive, and the spooky atmosphere is truly immersive. From the cobweb-covered walls to the creaky floorboards, every element of the haunted house is designed to make visitors feel like they are truly in a haunted space. One of the most unique features of Haunted Mayfield Manor is the fact that the haunted house itself is haunted. This adds an extra layer of spookiness to the experience and makes it all the more thrilling. While my kids were definitely frightened by some of the scares inside the haunted house, they also had a lot of fun. The actors were all fantastic, and their scary costumes and makeup added to the overall creepiness of the experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Haunted Mayfield Manor to anyone looking for a good scare. Just be prepared to be frightened silly! Read more Written May 3, 2023
  • 993lauris 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Ahoy! This is a must for family fun! My family and I recently visited the pirate museum and had an absolute blast! We learned about Jean Lafitte and the pirate legends of the Gulf of Mexico through the museum's fascinating exhibits. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights for our kids was the scavenger hunt, which was both educational and fun. They loved searching for clues throughout the museum and were thrilled when they won a prize at the end. And speaking of thrills, the realistic cannon firing experience was unforgettable! It was so exciting to see and hear the cannon go off, and it really brought the pirate history to life. Overall, we had a fantastic time at the pirate museum and would definitely recommend it to anyone with kids or grandkids looking for a fun and educational experience. The combination of history, interactive exhibits, and friendly staff made for a truly memorable visit. We can't wait to go back! Read more Written May 3, 2023
