Freeform jazz improvisation is, by virtue, an acquired taste. Yet nobody's arguably done more in the past 15 years to make it a more common flavour in people's sonic diets than Thundercat .

Need proof? Witness the sold out crowd at RISING festival  on Saturday night – the last show of Thundercat's Australian tour – and you'd think everyone would know their Stanley Clarkes from their Mahavishnu Orchestras.

That's the real beauty, though. Poll the room and you're likely to find fans have come to the musician born  Stephen Bruner  via other sonic trails, whether it be his crucial services to Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus, playing for Snoop Doog and Erykah Badu, or collabs with everyone from Gorillaz to Kimbra and, most recently, Tame Impala .

He rivals Kevin Bacon as a figure who makes games of 'six degrees' that much easier, and his eclectic solo albums are just as far-reaching.

Fronted by his honeyed falsetto and ferociously dynamic bass-work, Bruner's records are an intoxicating brew of cosmic funk, neo-R&B, future-soul, prog-jazz, hip hop and yacht rock crossbred with his various interests: anime, video games, terminally online humour.

That's in the studio. For his live show, Thundercat treats his songs like polite prototypes, warping them into mind-melting displays of technical skill, extending even his simplest tunes into odysseys.

"Who's ready to party?" he greets the gathered at Melbourne's Forum, wearing a relatively modest outfit – his yellow-green dreadlocks draped above a flashy, encrusted necklace piece and a red-black Freddy Krueger sweater.

With a variety of tones – from froggy hiccupping to octave-pedal squelch – he delivers the bass spectacle diehards paid for: displays of impossible dexterity as his fingers make dizzying sprints up and down his six-string bass. Pity any fret in the house tonight, it's going to be absolutely shredded.

His playing is simultaneously groove-anchored, harmonic, and melodic – blurring the lines between musical elements to a sometimes-confounding degree. And his band are right there with him.

Long-time keyboardist Dennis Hamm mans an intimidating bank of keys and synths while veteran jazz drummer Mike Mitchell (aka Blaque Dynamite) makes kit demolition look easy. Sporting yellow neon frames and hair buns, he's barely 10 minutes into the set before his intensity requires a tech to sneak onstage mid-performance to adjust his drums.

The trio spares no time carving up ears with the explosive 'How Sway' (titled after a Kanye West rant ). On record, the track is a one-minute-ish burst. On stage it's a whole other beast, stretched into a hyperactive video game boss battle soundtrack performed at a delirious tempo even hardened ravers might find 'a bit much'.

Similarly, the bubbling 'Tron Song' is twisted into a rhythmic monsoon of hammering grooves, while the buttery 'Dragonball Durag' remains faithful but still leaves room for Thundercat to jam out an extended upper-register freestyle.

He also goofs around talking about how Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6 threaten to eat up his social life and any chance at healthy relationships, prompting him to perform 'Friend Zone', which is all darting synths and burping bass runs.

Time and again, the trio treat the recognisable refrains and melodies as launch pads to detour into wild soloing, earning roars of approval akin to stuntmen landing safely after several airbourne minutes of death-defying pyrotechnics.

It's intense, and mostly thrilling rather than indulgent, but my sympathies for anyone entering tonight's performance without a cursory knowledge of Thundercat's catalogue and style.

Judging by the occasional group snaking their way back out from the throng during another extended solo, not everyone was prepared. But the head-nodding and whoops of recognition as each muso finishes their turn in the spotlight or collectively returns to an identifiable chorus suggests the crowd is mostly populated by acolytes. 

It's Thundercat's neatest trick. Bringing together both jazz aficionados and those who wouldn't be caught dead listening to the genre, and convincing all he's a singular talent with a fireworks show of musicianship.

Speaking of expectations, big shout out to support act Fly Boy Jack who defied them with an increasingly impressive warm-up set. The new project of Jordan Dennis and evidently talented beatmaker Joju , the pair nailed a range of hip hop heaters – trap, old school gangsta, "where my weed smokers at?" G Funk – with winning efficiency and invention.

Stand-outs included Dennis' light speed, Busta Rhymes-like flows and a track about growing up Christian that sounded like a drum'n'bass take on good kid m.A.A.d City -era Kendrick.

By the time they got the front rows participating in a rowdy ' woof woof woof ' hook for the boom-bap 'Dog', the duo had truly won the crowd over. The majority of us have evidently been sleeping on Flyboy Jack but their opening set was a wake-up call to their talent and promise.

Thundercat's success and popularity isn't just because he's a fearsomely talented bassist but because he's as unique a songwriter as he is low-end virtuoso.

There's very real feelings at the heart of his sonic freak-outs, which walk the razor's edge between hilarious and depressingly sad.

Tunes about joining the mile high club ('Overseas') and suites dedicated to his pet cats (Tron and Asuka - saved you the Google) mask complex struggles with intimacy, anxiety, and loss.

Thundercat should win the "Grammy for therapy" as he jokes onstage at one point.

His  2020 album It Is What It Is was largely him grieving the late Mac Miller — a close friend and collaborator. Seven years earlier, Apocalypse reckoned with the death of Bruner's Brainfeeder label buddy and school friend, Austin Peralta.

He isn't above stage banter about farting in the sheets or singing ' Meow meow meow ' as soulfully as Marvin Gaye but if it seems like Thundercat is shredding and singing like his life depends on it, it's because in some ways he truly is.

An ode to another friend and collaborator, 'I Love Louis Cole', is melodic synth-soul but played at terrifying trash metal speed that only a drum machine should get away with. Cue Thundercat and Mike Mitchell egging each other on, as if to see who can pack more notes into a single bar.

Bruner then explains the track is a true story about the time he got drunk at a house party and punched one of Cole's friends. He asks the crowd if we can relate to being too shitfaced. "This is Australia, right?" he laughs impishly.

Despite the chuckles, Thundercat is legitimately in a better place. Self-described as a former " raging alcoholic ", he's gotten sober, taken up martial arts, and embraced a new-found perspective on life.

"Yes, I've been doing lots of work. I drink water, I eat vegetables now," the artist deadpanned with Zan Rowe for Take 5 while in the country.

"Being okay is such a whole different art form. Everyone loves the conversation of mental health and wellbeing and it's like, to be honest with you, ever since I sobered up — Now I can really see my ADD in HD."

Getting leaner and cleaner clearly hasn't dulled the edge of his invention, nor his playing. The audience seems more dazzled and exhausted after 80 minutes than the 38-year-old muso is.

He rounds out the evening with the familiar sticky groove of 'Them Changes'. It's easily his biggest and most beloved number and it's hard to shake the feeling that Thundercat's set could benefit from another hit like it – a song that instantly unites the room in an inclusive groove and sing-along.

It's not that he couldn't or even hasn't equalled 'Them Changes' – his Tame Impala collab 'No More Lies' concludes the night and could very well fit the bill – but Thundercat isn't interested in playing by the rules. He never has.

Red Cat Adventures: All prices are per person in AUD and include GST, National Park and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park entry fees, professional skipper and host, live aboard, all meals, fresh linen and use of snorkelling equipment and snorkel suits. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure (Thundercat and Tongarra Day Sail) or less than three weeks before departure private charters will result in complete forfeiture of the full price. We reserve the right to substitute vessels without notice at any time for any reason. We recommend you take out travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss of personal goods and the inability to travel due to weather. Clients should note that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard guests, we cannot be responsible for any damage, personal injury or loss due to the actions of passengers that are beyond our control. All cruises are subject to weather and the vessel operator’s discretion. Please allow extra time to travel during the wet season (Dec-May) as we occasionally have road closures due to flooding. At certain times of the year, ‘dangerous’ jellyfish inhabit these waters, and passengers should take care of their own safety. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk, and the vessel’s owner will not be liable for any personal injury, illness, death or other consequences of passengers being stung by jellyfish. To minimise this risk, you will be provided with a full-length protective ‘Snorkel Suit’ to wear while swimming and snorkelling during the cruise. Cancellations within 24 hours of departure will forfeit the full cost of the trip.

Can Pregnant Woman Travel On Thundercat ?

A pregnancy waiver must be signed before travel for all pregnant passengers. We are happy for anyone to travel who has been approved by a doctor to be fit and healthy in their second trimester.

If you are in your first or third trimester, we would need a doctor’s certificate before travelling. It is up to the skipper’s decision on the day they are happy for you to travel, depending on the weather conditions that day. Safety for mum and baby is our highest priority.

Thundercat is the stage and recording name of esteemed American R&B, jazz fusion, electronic, and psychedelic, bass player Stephen Bruner, hailing from Los Angeles, California, U.S.

Bruner grew up in a creative and musical family, with his father Ronald Bruner Sr., an established drummer known for his work with Diana Ross and the Temptations, and his brother Ronald Jr. known as a Grammy-winning drummer, who has worked with the likes of Kenny Garrett and Stanley Clarke. Bruner’s earliest musical excursion was in the boyband No Curfew before joining his brother as a member of the L.A. metal band Suicidal Tendencies.

It was during this time Bruner found an audience for his acrobatic and elaborate playing style, later becoming the go-to session musician for artists in the black vanguard and subsequently worked on Erykah Badu’s “New Amerykah, Pt. 1”, J*Davey’s “Dirty Love”, Sa-Ra’s “Love Czars” and Snoop Dogg’s “We Rest in Cali” to name a few in a host of collaborations. The talented bass player also worked on Badu’s follow-up album “New Amerykah, Pt. 2” in 2010, and the same year began his fruitful relationship with Flying, Lotus contributing both bass and vocals to his album “Cosmogramma” in 2010.

In 2011 Bruner released his debut solo album “The Golden Age of Apocalypse”. The album was produced with the help of Flying Lotus, can be heard to take inspiration from ’70's fusion artists including Stanley Clarke and George Duke, and earned the musician a series of acclaims. Bruner subsequently contributed on label mate Flying Lotus’ “Until The Quiet Comes” in 2012, and “You’re Dead” in 2014. The bassist’s sophomore album “Apocalypse” arrived in 2013 and received an across the board positive response from fans and the musical press alike.

If there was a theme to Friday night's Red Bull Sound Select showcase at Three Links, it was one of challenging performances.

All three artists on the bill -- headliner Thundercat, local emcee -topic and Austin producer Roger Sellers -- were intent on pushing the limits of their respective genres at this show. And, for its part, the crowd was more than eager to have its own boundaries expanded.

Then again, the point could also be made that standing in lines was the real theme of this January show that, yes, we curated. As impossible as the prospect of locking down a precious square foot of standing room inside of Three Links' 200-capacity room seemed given the high RSVP count to this concert, enough folks braved the 40-degree weather of the night along Elm Street and all the way down to the 7-Eleven at the end of the block regardless -- and many even remained there long after most would have given up hope.

For those lucky enough to make it inside, though, any inconvenience would prove well worth it. We're guessing very few people left without having at least one perception changed.

For us, that happened during Sellers' opening set, where the multi-instrumentalist aggressively challenged the concept of what it means to be a quote-unquote DJ. Where does that distinction end? When Sellers began beating on toms along with his mostly pre-produced tracks? When he began singing and dancing around like a wonderfully engaging goofball? Whether folks tended to buy in to the many “Roger Sellers Is Not a DJ" stickers that now plaster the venue, he certainly opened a dialogue.

Likewise, -topic stepped his game up for this show, too. The biggest difference for the Dallas rapper at this performance, of course, was the fact that he was joined by a live backing band called Mixed Magyk for this one. Flashing influences of R&B and subtle notes of jazz, the outfit capably followed -topic's every lyrical turn, at one point going half tempo while the emcee dropped his voice an octave, mimicking the effect of a DJ dropping the BPMs. At another point, they replicated the sample from Outkast's "So Fresh, So Clean" that -topic then rhymed over. He was equal parts energetic and charismatic from the moment he hopped onstage until he dived off and walked out the back door, leaving the band to finish its last instrumental number alone. But never did the collective rile up the crowd more than its balls-out cover of the Pokemon theme. More than anything, -topic's set made perhaps the best case yet that hip-hop acts belong on more non-hip-hop bills in this town. Not surprisingly, we've already seen his name pop-up alongside indie and punk acts on at least two more bills in the next month.

Still, it was when virtuoso bassist Thundercat took the stage that minds were truly blown. Playing his six-string bass more like a guitar -- or hell, maybe even a piano? -- than a typical four-string bass, Thundercat created a sonic palate that kind of defied description. Joined by just a keyboard player and drummer, the trio dabbled in pop, soul and R&B as filtered through some pretty avant jazz influences. If we had to put it into words, we'd say his material sounded like if Victor Wooten musically masturbated over the coolest, unreleased Hall & Oates b-side of all time -- and then Squarepusher came along and remixed the whole thing.

Or maybe not ? Like most folks at Three Links on Friday, we weren't quite sure what we were hearing, just that our horizons were rapidly expanding and that we desperately wanted more of it.

Whether we quite understood what we were seeing, there's one thing that's certain: It was a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Thundercat, also known as Stephen Bruner originally, is an American bass player that does a range of different genres. During his career he has managed to release two solo albums, and many people may know him for his work with Flying Lotus. He like many other musicians, grew up with music in his family. At 15 he first got noticed as he had a small hit in Germany as a member of a boy band called 'No Curfew', quite cute for a group of young boys. Later in his career he joined his brother in the band 'Suicidal Tendancies', taking over from the former bass player who left the band. His first solo album was released in 2011 called 'The Golden Age of Apocalypse', which included his previous band in it. Although this music didn't do a lot for me, he shows such enthusiasm when he's playing on a stage, you can see he thrives off the audiences response and everyone in the crowd loved him. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed watching him and how admired he and the members of Flying Lotus were by their adoring fans. He’s done well for a bass player, they often don’t get the recognition they deserve, I wouldn’t go out of my way to see him again, but he was great as part of a band.

I want to start off by saying I really love thundercat and have been listening to him for years. I adore his music and him as a person and I was insanely pumped to see this convert. I was really disappointed. The sound was awful at the venue with everything being far too loud in the mix, especially drums, and thundercat’s bass was far too quiet. The gig lasted a gruelling 2 hours and at least one hour of that was horrible improvisation. Which all blended into one because the instruments were all at a similar frequency. You couldn’t hear anything clearly and it was a huge muddy improv mess. There would be cheers after the extended improvisations in every song and I think that the crowd weren’t cheering the improv they were cheering that it was over and he had finally started playing the song again. Basically the melody or groove was completely lost and I just got totally sick of it. He forced us all to endure this before playing ‘them changes’ and ‘friendzone’. At the end I was totally exhausted and I wouldn’t see him again :/

Stephen Bruner, better known by his stage name Thundercat is a multi-genre hopping, multi-instrumentalist who has been garnering critical acclaim Stateside ever since he first established himself in 2002. The R & B aficionado can list Flying Lotus and Kendrick Lamar as past collaborators and although he moves between genres frequently, he is held in high acclaim no matter where he decides to settle.

On a record Bruner skips between the genres of R & B, jazz fusion, electronic and even funk with relative ease however this is not as easy a transition on the stage. Luckily Stephen is joined by a selection of equally proficient musicians who help to create the genre bending sounds of his discography and lend an overall cohesion to the performance. The audience remains totally engaged as there is a lot to look at during the show yet they make themselves heard following the finale of 'Heartbreaks + Setbacks' with deafening applause.

Incredible performance. Thundercat is one of the most energetic and genuine performances I've had the pleasure of seeing, and his love for the music he plays is so evident when he does. He played a good repertoire, even dabbling into some of the stuff he's produced for Kendrick, but most of his set was a large, weed-fuelled, intermingling jam session. He came back for a total of about 5 encores, and never lost the speed in his fingers as he played the 6 string bass. Really a good musical experience.

AH-FREAKING-AMAZING!!!!

I knew it was going to be an amazing show, with songs ranging from old to new, he did not disappoint. The crowd was awesome and gave really good energy. The surprise of the show was his amazing drummer, Justin Brown. He went on runs that were both beat and melody driven and complex while keeping everything connected. It was spectacular to see. AHHHHHMAZING SHOW

Left after the third song. I knew it was a sold out show, but that was goddamn ridiculous it being an all ages show, and having 21+ crammed like sardines on one side (I know its standard but...) and im pretty sure it all was a fire hazard it being that way. You could barely walk, let alone barely get to the water station ... Ill never go back to Wonder Ballroom, such a shit show

Funky, soulful, intergalactic: three words I would use to describe my experience at Union Transfer for Thundercat's performance. He was absolutely electrifying with his bass guitar and melodic voice along with the accompanying keyboard and drums. Both absolutely beautiful, and I would hope that anyone who has the opportunity to see Thundercat, that they take it.

Just saw him at the Shrine (LA). The mixing was terrible. He came on late and decided to have full on conversations in between each song. I just think his solo stuff is too far out there to really enjoy or even dance to (unless your a huge jazz fan). I left part way through and was not alone. Flying Lotus opened and that was the highlight of the night.

My daughter took me as a surprise for my 59th Birthday! I absolutely loved the show! The way he plays the Bass is amazing! I would highly recommend this show! You will not be disappointed!i plan on seeing Thundercat again! On a side note- I also got my pic with another Super Star- Forget Brennan From LA! Great Night!!!!

Explore, relax and have fun on the sandy white beaches of Whitehaven. The award winning Whitehaven Beach is 7 km long and is famous for its crystal clear waters and perfect 98% silica white sand. Feel free to bring a Frisbee or football along, Whitehaven beach is the perfect place to start a game with friends - both new and old!

Hill Inlet lookout

Take a quick bushwalk up to Hill Inlet lookout to see the famous swirling sands for yourself! While at the lookout take the opportunity to grab some awesome photos. The view of the swirling sands at the Hill Inlet lookout are never the same twice with the tides and currents continually shifting the sand to create new patterns.

Snorkelling

Snorkel at two of the best reefs in the Whitsundays - Mantaray Bay and Peter's Bay! Vibrant in beautiful corals and marine life, Peter's Bay can only be accessed by those with a special permit. Mantaray Bay has an array of underwater valleys and caves and is home to our local Maori Wrasse 'George.' Be sure to keep an eye out for friendly green sea turtles, giant sea clams and funny clownfish while you are snorkelling in these pristine fringing reefs of the Great Barrier Reef!

After snorkelling, you'll join the crew back on board Thundercat for one last ride back to Coral Sea Marina, enjoying the view and the awesome ocean breeze on the way. After an action-packed day on the water, Thundercat offers all passengers the opportunity to join them for food and drinks at Base Backpackers.

Please Note: If you miss the bus please make your way to Coral Sea Marina North at your own cost by 8.30am.

The courtesy transfer bus will pick the passengers up from their local accommodation and take them to Coral Sea Marina. The bus will do pick up from Coral Sea Marina roundabout, back to accommodation.

What's Extra

A surcharge of $20 per adult and $10 per child will apply to trips that fall on public holidays. This surcharge can be paid directly over the phone with Red Cat (07 4946 4444), or by going into the Red Cat office on Airlie Beach Main Street. Terms and Conditions

Your Responsibilities:

Please advise us before booking if any passengers are under 18 years old to ensure this is the appropriate trip. 

You must reconfirm all booked tours prior to travel as specified on your voucher. If applicable, notes such as dietary requirements, pick-up locations and additional fees should also be confirmed at this time. Reconfirmations cannot be actioned through Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel, and must be done so directly through the Service Operator as specified on each ticket.

It is your responsibility to notify us of ticket discrepancies. Please read through the details on your voucher thoroughly to ensure all details such as passenger names, ages and dates of travel on vouchers are correct.

It is the responsibility of all passengers travelling to advise both your travel agent at the time of booking and vessel check-in agent before boarding of any medical conditions including food allergies you may suffer from.

You need to allow adequate time to check-in prior to the specified departure time.  A public holiday surcharge of $20 per adult and $10 per child will apply to holidays including Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Labour Day, Kings Birthday, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Australia Day. The tour does not operate on Christmas Day. 

Prices/Extra Costs:

All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST. Surcharges over peak holiday seasons may apply. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices and extra costs. Extra costs may include EMC fees, Stingersuit/Wetsuit Hire, Luggage Storage, Insurance, Linen Hire, National Park Fees, Fuel Levies, Dietary Fees, etc. Bonds may also apply.

We will also endeavour to communicate these extra costs with you at the time of booking, and on your ticket. However, it is your responsibility to confirm which (if any) additional costs apply with each Service Operator upon reconfirming your trip.

Travel Risk/Insurance:

It should be noted that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We highly recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. You should also ensure your travel insurance will cover special circumstances including weather events preventing guests from travelling to their tour departure destination and cancelled flights due to unforeseen circumstances. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to limit courtesy transfers to select local accommodations. Private residences or Airbnb properties may be asked to meet at the closest confirmed location. Failure to meet at the specified pick-up location may be treated as “No Show”, for which the Client Cancellation Policy applies.

Merchant Fees:

Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 1% surcharge for VISA and MASTERCARD card purchases.

All ticket/voucher reissues attract a $20 administration fee.

Open Date Vouchers / Gift Certificate:

Shipping Costs are in addition to the ticket price and will be added at check-out. Shipping costs are non-refundable and do not makeup part of the ticket value. 

E-Vouchers incur no shipping fees. You have 5 years to use the value of the voucher. Seasonal Price Rises will apply if travelling out the current seasons pricing. Vouchers can be exchanged for free up to the full value of the voucher excluding credit card fees and charges.

Cancellations

Client Cancellations:

No shows or client cancellations made within 24 hours of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price. 

Sailing Whitsundays are required to notify the operator of any cancellations within the specified cancellation period (24 hours). It is your responsibility to make sure you submit your cancellation request with adequate time, and during standard business hours (9am-5pm), to allow us to contact the tour provider.

Transfers between tours can be made at the suppliers discretion, however, it should be noted that supplier fees may apply. Tour transfers also incur a $20 administration fee. 

It is compulsory that all cancellation requests are in writing and sent via email to [email protected]. Cancellations attempted via online chat or phone will not be actioned.

Supplier Cancellations:

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices, alter itineraries, apply a fuel surcharge, cancel departures, arrange alternative transport and vary itineraries and services if necessary.

All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Tours may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Service Operator. If the Service Operator has to cancel the trip or activity (prior to departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus a 20% administration fee and any associated card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

In the unlikely event of your trip being cancelled or stood down, all guest communication is required to go through our Online Store via telephone or email. While there is a Sailing Whitsundays retail outlet located Airlie Beach, please be aware that they operate as a separate entity and are unable to access reservations made by the Mr Travel online department.

All refunds are in Australian Dollars and must be made to the card of payment. Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel is not liable for exchange rate fluctuations or fees, or any other merchant/bank fees associated with domestic and/or international transactions.

Where a full refund is applicable, there is the option to transfer the whole cost of the tour to another tour or “Credit” to avoid the administration fee. A transfer fee of $20 will apply.

You will be emailed confirmation once the refund has been processed. Once the refund has been processed, it may still take time for the banks to clear the amount. Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to clear into Australian accounts and up to 21 business days for international accounts.

Accountability/Misconduct:

All Service Operators have the right to provide client feedback and to cancel bookings based off of feedback from other Service Operators.

Thundercat Announces 2023 North American Tour Dates

Thundercat has announced a string of 2023 live dates winding through North America later this year. The musician will officially kick off his In Yo Girl’s City Tour on August 5 at the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island, before stopping over in Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Brooklyn, Dallas, and other cities and, eventually, heading to Brazil and Chile for a few dates in November. His last concert on the trek will take place November 15 at Santiago’s Teatro Coliseo. Find Thundercat’s full itinerary below.

Thundercat’s most recent album, It Is What It Is , arrived in 2020, and won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards the following year. He also made an appearance at the 2023 Grammys , playing onstage “ Bad Habit ” with Steve Lacy.

Just last month, Thundercat teamed up with Tame Impala for the new single “ No More Lies ,” marking Thundercat’s first official single in three years. Later this month, Thundercat will play a handful of concerts with Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Strokes.

Things to know.

• No high heels

Availability:

• Departure Point: San Remo Jetty in San Remo. Staff will be waiting to greet you in the car park and escort you to the boats
• Please check in at least 10 minutes prior to your departure time
• During busy periods such as school holidays and weekends, please allow extra time for parking at your departure location
• This tour travels into open waters, which may be choppy at times; taking motion sickness tablets is recommended
• Bookings are limited and subject to availability. Please book early to avoid disappointment
• Meals, drinks and transfers are not included. Any excess amount is payable directly to Ocean Adventures Phillip Island
• You will experience spray from the water during the ride so a jacket is recommended in cooler months. Plastic ponchos are available upon request

Terms & Conditions:

• Children must be 5 and over to ride
• Passengers under 18 yeras must have an adult sign on their behalf
• Passengers must meet the minimum height requirement of 110cm
• Passengers who are pregnant, suffer from back, neck or heart conditions and/or any other pre-existing conditions or injuries must not ride the Thundercat.
• Passengers who ride the Thundercat do so at their own risk and must sign a release of liability/assumption of risk prior to boarding
• Thundercat boat rides are minimum number and weather dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of Ocean Adventures Phillip Island. Participants will be informed within a reasonable timeframe of a cancellation and attempts will be made to reschedule at no cost, or a compensatory gift voucher will be supplied
• Thundercat boat rides dates and times may be changed or cancelled due to weather and passenger numbers
• Vessel is subject to change depending on availability
• Late arrivals and no-shows void offer
• If passengers are late, the ride time will be reduced accordingly and/or a $25 per person rebooking fee will be applied

Cancellations:

• This experience is non-refundable

Changes to Booking:

• 48 hours' notice is required to change a booking you have made, subject to availability and at Ocean Adventures' discretion only
