Buenos Aires:

The capital city of Argentina, birthplace of the tango, home to a mosaic of European-styled architecture and South American spirit, it’s nearly impossible not to fall head over heels in love with this very special place. It’s often called the “Paris of Latin America” and lives up to its name with incredible food, fantastic shopping, stunning architecture and culture galore.

As you prepare to explore beautiful South and Central America, enjoy a casual dress style and be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes! Closed toed shoes are recommended, as many grounds are uneven or are dirt paths. Bring a swimsuit as several of the hotels have swimming pools.

South America e2

You're in for a treat as you sample the delicious flavors of South American cuisine. The climate provides the area with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and meats to be sampled and savored.

South America e3

Peru provides one of the greatest shopping experiences in all of South America with its diversity of products. You will find many handicraft markets as well as top end ceramic shops, art galleries, jewelry stores and clothing boutiques, particularly in Lima and Cuzco. The Andean heritage is still very alive in Peru. Look for colorful Andean textiles in the form of blankets, ponchos, shawls, and scarves.

Essential South America

See our travelers on tour, brochures that feature our south america tours, destinations in south america.

Peru is one of South America’s premier destinations and not just because of its status of the land of the ancient Incas, the ruins of Machu Picchu and the Peruvian Andes; it’s also full of many cultural, historical and archeologically significant sites. But it is also known for its world-renowned food scene. Higher end restaurants are popping up everywhere with cuisine influenced by Latin America, Europe and even the Amazon and everyone is taking notice.

If you are up for a larger than life experience consider the country of Ecuador. Despite its small size, Ecuador offers much more than one might ever imagine. The diverse landscape includes the Galapagos Islands; nearly 1400 miles of Pacific coastline, grasslands, volcanic mountains and the Amazon Rainforest and jungle. Considered a multicultural wonder, it is home to 44 different indigenous and ethnic groups whose culture and history contribute to the wide variety of delicious cuisine, all adding up to one big adventure for you!

This long and narrow country offers a variety of different ecosystems to explore. From the world’s most arid desert in the north, lush forests and coastal shores, to the frozen land in the south that is home to penguins, the activities are endless. Whether it’s sighting volcanoes, horseback riding or simply sipping on the world renowned wine, an adventure awaits. Speaking of wine, Chile has many vineyards and over 20 different types of grapes – a wine tasting is a must.

The GAdventures App needs updating and is not very well laid out. The trip itself was excellent - made especially memorable by the fantastic group we had. Could not fault this trip. Scenery and activities excellent and a very excellent and enthusiastic guide. He tended to each and everyone of us. His insructions were clear each day. Just couldn't do enough for his "Intrepid Family". Plus we had an amazing group. A fantastic trip.

Ecuador Highlights Tour

Ecuador Highlights

Machu Picchu and the Amazon National Geographic Journeys

Pretour Comms were great: fast and clear. Tour logistics were good enough and daily communication clear. Few minor aspects unexpected eg additional meal costs, rental of equipment (sleeping bags, mattress). Local guides, porters were great ( as expected). At times the encouragement to tip all service providers felt excessive. Overall a good tour, given the small group and pricing.

Our guide Dianna was marvelous. She went out of her way to accommodate a wide variety of needs. The hikes could be more descriptive as the one in Tayorna national park was difficult for some of the guests. I would include a massage in Baricharra as we asked it the hotel had accomodations for massages which were terrific.

What people love about 10 Day South America Tours

Great tour meeting some awesome people, seeing beautiful sights, great food and unforgettable experiences
10 Day Peru Express - Lima, Ica, Machu Picchu, Cusco & Puno + Titi-Kaka Lake with Domestic Flights with Waman Adventures was an amazing trip. Waman Adventures ran this tour smoothly and professionally. All accommodations, transportation, and most of the food were good. Every second of this trip was carefully thought out. A very informative, entertaining, and pleasant tour. You don't need to worry about anything. We learn a lot about Peru, nature, the ancient Inca civilization, and the current tribes. The tour guides Gido and Will are very professional, caring, punctual, and accurate. The hiking trips might be challenging ( for me, I have asthma) but there is an option to take a horse or bike with the driver. We highly recommend Waman Adventure Tours to everyone.
This tour is intended for people who are physically fit, able to walk 6 kilometers a day, love to kayak/snorkel/swim/bike, and still have plenty of energy to enjoy the wildlife. I cannot cope up with the group, but luckily our CEO offered me options like museum visit, tour to Tntoreras. I still was able yo see all the wildlife I need to see exvept the cormorant. I did not expect to stay in a 5 star hotel. I find the accommodation suitable enough for my needs: comfortable bed, air condition, water, electricity, wifi. Special thanks to Sandra, CEO. She is one of the best tour guides I met in my years of travel. She is a great listener and teacher. She was born in Santa Cruz. She knows Galapagos like the palm of her hand.

A Bolivian llama among the cactus in South America

Colourful, candid and everything in-between. South America beats to the rhythm of an infectious, eternal drum.

It’s the sequined heat of Carnival and a cool breeze blowing across the Andes, a fiery Argentine tango and the soft silence of an Ecuadorian cloud forest. You taste it in the crackle of slow-cooked barbecue and the tang of a good pisco sour. About the only thing the continent lacks is monotony. From the rocky slopes of Galapagos to the dawn-lit ruins of Machu Picchu , South America is effervescent with sights, sounds and salsa. Now, pass the empanadas and let's talk adventure.

DJ Porter Robinson coming to Nashville as Music City sees EDM uptick

tour south america

DJ, record producer and singer-songwriter Porter Robinson will be bringing a night of EDM to Nashville on his upcoming tour. He will be performing at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on Sept. 10.

Robinson's "SMILE! World Tour" brings him to Music City in support of his upcoming album "SMILE! :D," which will release on July 26.

The DJ is known for songs "Everything Goes On," "Shelter" and "Goodbye To A World." On April 23, he dropped a new single from the album "Knock Yourself Out XD."

Robinson's tour will see him make his way through North America, Australia, Asia, Europe and South America.

Robinson comes as Nashville sees EDM uptick

Robinson's Nashville performance comes as EDM is shining bright in Music City.

At the end of March, athlete Shaquille O'Neal, also known as DJ Diesel , took the stage at the Skydeck on Broadway.

O'Neal's EDM alter ego brought a night of thumping EDM music to Broadway with a packed crowd and a set that featured pulsating trap music, modern electric dance music favorites and dubstep.

Nashville also recently saw the opening of one of its first EDM dance clubs, the Night We Met .

The club, located in the Gulch, opened to the public on March 28 . Night We Met is looking to grow the EDM scene in Nashville—a city known for country and rock music, not its club scene, like New York or Los Angeles.

The new venue will host DJs from all over the world with global platforms.

EDM fans can check out upcoming events at nightwemetnashville.com .

How do I buy tickets to Porter Robinson's tour?

There will be a Live Nation presale starting on Wednesday, May 1 at 10 a.m. CST and going until May 2 at 10 p.m. CST at livenation.com .

Fans can use the code "SOUNDCHECK" to access the presale.

General onsale will begin on Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. CST at porterrobinson.com .

Assistant Secretary Estenoz Celebrates National Park Week, Highlights Investing in America Agenda Investments Across the South

Date: Friday, April 26, 2024 Contact: [email protected]

WASHINGTON  — Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks Shannon Estenoz wrapped a weeklong tour of national parks throughout Florida, Georgia and South Carolina to celebrate National Park Week and highlight how investments from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda are bolstering nature-based infrastructure to protect communities and habitats.

In Florida, Assistant Secretary Estenoz visited Biscayne National Park and the Mote Marine Lab at Key Largo to highlight transformational investments through the Inflation Reduction Act to restore corals along the coast. The National Park Service has committed $195 million for climate restoration and resilience projects over the next decade, protecting America’s national parks for generations to come. National parks across the United States will use this funding to prepare for the impacts of climate change, protect species, restore ecosystems and invest in conservation jobs. Many of these projects support restoration and resilience efforts in national parks located in small and rural communities, bringing much-needed investments and jobs that support local American economies.

In Biscayne National Park, supported by funding from the Inflation Reduction Act , teams of scientists are at work on projects to save coral reefs and are working to build their capacity to protect the millions of species that live primarily on or exclusively in association with them. Coral habitat is significant natural infrastructure, providing shelter, food and breeding and nursery grounds for thousands of marine plants and animals. Coral reefs also protect coastal shorelines and communities from storms.

Assistant Secretary Estenoz also hosted a roundtable in Orlando, as part of a nationwide tour to hear directly from local stakeholders on the need to connect communities with access to the outdoors and provide information on the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program and other federal grant opportunities to support locally led recreation, preservation and community development. The ORLP program, established in 2014, enables urban communities to create new outdoor recreation spaces, reinvigorate existing parks, and form connections between people and the outdoors in economically underserved communities. During the visit, Assistant Secretary Estenoz also attended the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force meeting. She is the chair of the intergovernmental body, which was created by Congress to bring together federal, state, Tribal and local governments to help protect and restore the Everglades.

Assistant Secretary Estenoz also traveled to South Carolina, where she visited the Reconstruction Era National Historical Park in Beaufort County. The park honors the significance of the Reconstruction era, the historic period from 1861-1900 in which the United States grappled with the question of how to integrate millions of newly freed African Americans into social, political, economic, and labor systems. In February, the Department announced five additions to the Reconstruction Era National Historic Network, to recognize and amplify sites and programs throughout the country that share stories of freedom, struggle, education and self-determination associated with this period.

She also toured Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah, Georgia, and Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park in Charleston County, South Carolina.
