The Jagannath temple in Ranchi is the eminent tourist destination of Jharkhand . It resembles the architectural design of the Jagannath temple of Puri. The construction work of the temple was completed by the king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur on 25th December in the year 1691.

A massive procession and fair during the time of ‘Rath Yatra’ happen to be the most incredible sight of Jagannath temple. Devotees from near and far places visit this temple to view a glimpse of the huge Rath that carries Lord Jagannath in its sacred seat. The temple is situated on a hillock. The park constitutes a three-section botanical, zoological and main zoo. Most of the inmates of the zoo stay in open, large areas surrounded by the natural environment.
