While many brands have introduced “endurance” road bikes over the last few years, few have taken the idea to quite the extreme as Trek.

Trek Domane 4.5 – A High-End Frame and Smart Build Kit

The Domane was developed with considerable input from Swiss pro cyclist Fabian Cancellara , who is known for his steam-engine riding style, using his massive power output to crush cobblestones in the fabled Spring Classics. He is said to enjoy the bike so much that he rides it year-round, even in the Tour de France, choosing it over Trek’s racier Madone model.

The frame features the intriguing IsoSpeed decoupler , an ingenious system that separates the seat tube from the top tube and seatstays, and allows the seat tube to flex and pivot at the mounting point. If you stand next to the bike and put your weight on the saddle, you can see the seat tube flex slightly, but while riding it is imperceptible until you hit a bump.

A High-Performance Machine

Make no mistake: IsoSpeed is not a suspension system, and this is still a high-performance machine. If you’re expecting something akin to a suspension seatpost, think again. The frame’s ride quality is distinctly carbon—a muted road feel with less of that high-frequency vibration you feel from some aluminum frames, but still generally stiff.

Iso Speed makes itself most noticeable when crossing railroad tracks or other high-speed, sharp impacts that would normally require you to lift or shift your weight on the saddle to avoid being bounced. Not having to do that means you can keep your cadence smooth and the power high. The system seems so extreme some might think it’s a gimmick, but I’m convinced. Trek is as well—the technology will soon be adapted to its line of hardtail mountain bikes .

At the other end of the bike, the fork deserves some of the credit. It was developed with an asymmetrical steerer tube that is slightly thicker side-to-side than front-to-back, giving it a touch of compliance, but it never felt soft or shuddering.

The difference between the Domane 4.5 and the higher-end models is in the stiffness of the carbon fiber itself, and that this version uses a standard 27.2mm seat post rather than a seatmast that is integrated into the frame. I actually prefer the standard post, as it can be swapped for countless alternatives and provides an easy spot to clamp the bike in a work stand.

Trek’s DuoTap Hidden Speed

Other frame details include a spot for Trek’s DuoTap hidden speed and cadence sensor, an integrated chain guide to eliminate dropped chains and more generous tire clearance than most frames. It also has removable fender eyelets, so you can keep the clean look if you’re not using them. For an even smoother ride, you can ditch the tubes and set up the Bontrager Race wheels tubeless—another technology that is easy to dismiss until you try it.

It would be a mistake to write off the Domane as a “comfort” bike for weekend warriors. Despite accommodations for a smooth ride, it is as stiff and race-worthy as I could ask. Yet the slightly longer wheelbase makes it extremely stable, and it’s one of the few bikes I’ve ever plunged downhill at 40mph with a crosswind while still feeling relaxed. The fit adds to the comfort factor, as the slightly taller head tube gives you a more head’s-up position than Trek’s race bikes. Paired with a set of shallow-drop Bontrager handlebars , I felt great in each of the riding positions, an essential element of a long, comfortable ride.

Domane: Initial Acceleration is Direct and Instant

The adage “laterally stiff and vertically compliant” has gone beyond cliché to become something of a running joke in road bike circles. The notion that a bike can be a stiff-as-heck race machine and still be comfortable over rough pavement on long rides is not unlike a unicorn—a magical beast that surely can’t exist. But on the Domane, initial acceleration is direct and instant, with the massive, squared down tube and BB90 bottom bracket all but eliminating lateral flex.

Back in Issue #16 I reviewed the Volagi Liscio, which also features an unusual seat tube arrangement—the seatstays bypass the seat tube and connect to the top tube. While the Liscio was smoother than the Domane in a straight line, it can’t compete with the Domane in terms of power transfer and handling accuracy. The Domane makes no sacrifices in these areas.

The Shimano Ultegra build kit performed flawlessly, as I expected. The compact crankset paired with an 11-28-tooth cassette offers tons of range for tackling the steepest pitches. The 105-level brake calipers offer power to spare, as a single finger is often enough to bring the bike to a stop.

Hitting the street for less than $2,800, the Domane 4.5 struck me as a steal, considering the high-end frame technology and the smart build kit. While it will likely be pitched to riders looking for a high-performance ride for centuries and gran fondos, the Domane is a race bike at heart that won’t beat you up on the weekdays.

Introduction

Is the once great “General” still as good as it was today? I think the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 was very hard to get at the time, and even if you got it, you had to wait a long time to get it. However, now with the constant updates of Trek, it is no longer in production. However, it is a very classic road bike. Both performance and comfort are no problem today.

Next, I break down the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5’s uphill and downhill performance, key features, and components and specs for a breakdown, as well as how it compares. If you’re interested, stay tuned!

Trek Domane 4.5 Road-Uphill Review

Classics never go out of style. This 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 is still hot on used sites, even though it’s discontinued. That’s thanks to its durable configuration and design.

I found this 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 in my friend’s garage, so I decided to review this 2016 Trek Domane 4.5.

Coincidentally, I moved back home to rural Ohio some time ago, where the population is sparse and there are only large expanses of forest and rolling hills. I wanted to take the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 to enjoy my hometown. And so, I began a ride of over two months.

I re-wiped this bike down and adjusted the slightly loose screws and seat post. The road in front of me would lead to a nearby nature park, and the first half of the road was a very smooth tarmac with only a few minor undulations.

I started in this 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 wondering if it would go on strike in the middle of the ride. However, it turned out that I was overly concerned.

The first thing is that the comfortable saddle and grip of the Trek Domane 4.5 made me feel relaxed as soon as it made contact with me. It was like I was holding a sponge, but with more support than a sponge.

Secondly, ISOspeed’s carbon frame and fork allow me to go uphill without too much strain, reducing the stress that the terrain puts on me. I can enjoy the upward climb with more focus.

Not only that, but the gentle geometry gave me more energy on the uphill. I didn’t feel any pressure on my spine from long rides.

In addition, it has a slack 71.9° head tube angle with a 73.3° seat tube angle. I think this is the main reason why I can always be able to maintain a comfortable position while riding.

Once again, the Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite’s tires provided me with reliable support. The tread pattern on it fits tightly to the ground as it rolls, firming it up and smoothing it forward at the same time. I was especially surprised by its grip when I encountered some of the steeper uphill grades, which had the feel of an old but still sharp knife.

I can say very directly that it will outperform some of the newer bikes like this.

Trek Domane 4.5 Downhill Review

If the uphill performance of the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 is a 90 in my mind, the downhill performance will be slightly lower, but that’s only five points lower! But I think that’s a pretty good score for a bike that’s a few years old.

I still didn’t feel a lot of strain on my lower back on some of the drop-off descents. Yes, I dived slightly and the Trek Domane 4.5’s ISOspeed frame allowed me to gain acceleration more easily in the process.

And, I have to say that it is configured with a Shimano Ultegra 2×11 speed gear range which was exactly what I was expecting. The rich and dense gear ratios coupled with the stable crankset made my speed soar and the whole descent was very smooth and unobstructed. The big trees lined up on both sides were left as blurred shadows in my perspective, while the roadside grass could be vaguely seen swaying in the wind.

Its v-brake also kept up with me when I hit some of the more curvy turns, and I didn’t have to work too hard to hold the brake lever down and squeeze the corner with ease. However, the Trek Domane 4.5 may not have as quick a time to recover and is slightly less responsive than the hydraulic disc brakes. But in the uncrowded countryside, this had little effect on my riding.

Overall, it does have some limitations in terms of braking. But if it is on a wider route, there is no problem. So I would recommend not going to some muddy land to ride the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5, it is not suitable.

Main Features

Frame group.

First of all, its exquisite paintwork is on full display on this bike. The bike comes in very classic and understated colors, Matte Trek Black, Dnister Black, and Viper Red.

Secondly, carbon is already prevalent within the road bike segment. However, brands will still strive for excellence and keep looking for breakthroughs. Trek can be called a connoisseur in this area.

On the frame, the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 features the exclusive IsoSpeed. as a result, it not only has the power transfer of a traditional carbon frame, but it is also smoother than a traditional carbon frame.

It maintains a diamond-shaped frame geometry that allows the seat tube to flex. This setup helps the rider in achieving an aerodynamically efficient position and reduces fatigue.

And, as it turns out, the Trek Domane 4.5 is not exaggerated. There are many past Spring Classic winners equipped with this frame.

The geometry of the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 isn’t perfect, but it has the standards that an endurance road bike should have.

First, the 73.3° seat tube angle is not very steep; it allows the rider to bend gently to gain more efficient speed and stay smooth.

Secondly, the Trek Domane 4.5 has a 71.9° headtube angle. It gives a looser feel, but I think it’s just right. Because it doesn’t affect our flexibility when steering even when we keep driving at high speed.

On top of that, its 42cm rear lower fork length is relatively short. This also means that the rider will be riding closer to the rear tire of the bike, which helps to improve the rider’s speed up hills.

Components and Specifications

Shimano ultegra drivetrain.

The Shimano Ultegra drivetrain gives us a range of 2 x 11 speeds. This is more than enough play for a road bike.

Moreover, the Trek Domane 4.5 features a lightweight crank, hollow outer sprocket, and wider tooth spacing, which increases frame clearance. The lightened crank design optimizes the bike’s power transfer efficiency.

Not only that, but the 11-32T cassette will also be more advantageous when climbing, and the larger gears will make our pedaling relatively easier.

In addition, the front derailleur of Trek Domane 4.5 also offers a lighter shifting operation than before, mainly because of its new linkage structure. So, we don’t need to worry about not getting the exact speed we want when operating.

Shimano 105 Braking System

The bike is equipped with dual lever v-brakes that are not only affordable but also reliable.

The Trek Domane 4.5 has an integrated shift cable that is both lightweight and strong, yet very smooth and easy to use. Yes, you only need to hook your finger to brake. It’s rider friendly and easy to maintain daily.

In addition, the optical gel electric coating on its surface can protect the cable from corrosion. And the durability of the cable will be improved.

Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite Tires

The wheelset of the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 features Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tires on Bontrager Race rims.

First, the Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tire is a road tire with Hard-Case Lite puncture protection for durability. Its lightweight tread casing increases the tire’s traction.

Therefore, even if we encounter a sharp turn, this set of tires will have excellent grip so that we can finish the turn smoothly.

Secondly, Bontrager Race rims are strong and fast, not only well-designed but also very light in terms of weight.

In addition, it is easy to disassemble. That is to say, we do not consume much energy either to maintain it or to replace it.

Other versions of Trek Domane 4.5

In my opinion, the Trek Domane 4.5 with Shimano RS685 hydraulic discs is indeed slightly better in terms of braking.

And, it was also replaced with a disc-type balanced joint. It can make our handling smoother and make its braking smoother.

In addition, even in hot weather, its good heat dissipation performance can keep the bike running properly.

There is one thing to say, the hydraulic version of the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 is a good choice if you have enough budget.

However, if you think you want a lighter road bike, then the 2016 Trek Domane 4.5 is the ideal choice for you.

Trek Domane 4.5 Disc First Look Review

Trek have been kind enough to send me a Domane Disc to review and it’s a bike I’ve been looking forward to riding. It’s the first time I’ve tried the Domane with it’s now well known IsoSpeed Decoupler, designed to soften the ride over rough surfaces whilst still ensuring sufficient stiffness and responsiveness in all riding conditions. The 4.5 Domane Disc I’m riding also has what I expect to be a fantastic spec in the form of Shimano’s excellent R685 hydraulic disc brakes, combined with Shimano’s well proven Ultegra 6800 mechs front and rear.

The Domane Disc I’ve been sent to try also features through axles front and rear for greater stiffness, with in this case a 142x12mm rear axle and a 15mm front. By combining the post mount disc brakes with the through axles  the result offers, according to Trek, maximum stiffness, steering precision and rigidity – something my 68kg weight and skinny legs will find difficult to prove to be frank. It’ll be interesting to ride them none the less, as they might well make a difference that I can notice in cornering and descending.

IsoSpeed Fork and cable routing details…

The IsoSpeed fork is another interesting aspect of the Domane design with a curve and shape designed to increase compliance and smooth the ride quality, with a dropout design and positioning to “optimise wheelbase”. Given the smoothness effect the IsoSpeed Decoupler offers in the seat tube, the fork has a challenge of providing an equivalent enough smoothness through the front of the bike so that the ride feels balanced between front and rear.

The Domane features Trek Endurance geometry but this is not a sit up and beg sportive bike, it’s still designed to be fast enough to race. Fabian Cancellara loves his and seems to do pretty well on them. In the 56cm size I’m riding the stack height is only 7mm higher than the Kinesis TK3/4S that I used to own, or 1.4cm higher than Trek’s H2 geometry. The stack height is just over an inch higher (27mm) than on my “race” bike.  The point I’m trying to make is that it’s not a super high front end and it’s designed for endurance racing/riding over rough surfaces whilst looking after you and your back. Yes, it’s higher than an out and out smooth surface race bike but it’s quite a bit lower than a Specialized Roubaix (which is 15mm higher again in a 56cm) and for most of us, higher is most likely better than lower for comfort over long rides. One of the upsides of a higher front end is you don’t need any spacers and I’ve already rearranged the stack on the bike I have to test.

The 4 Series Domane is made from Trek’s 400 series OCLV carbon. In simple terms this is towards the entry end of Trek’s carbon range and the next step up for disc bikes would be the Domane Disc 6.2 which costs £1,700 more as a result of the more expensive 600 Series OCLV carbon and a few other spec upgrades. The more expensive OCLV variants offer lighter, stiffer and more compliant frames according to the information on Treks own site but perhaps lose the bang for buck of this 400 series bike.

For those of you interested in weight, this bike (size 56cm) straight of the box weighed 8.95kgs on my ebay scales of semi-truth and 9.35kgs with my pedals, a bottle cage and Garmin mount. It’s not light, there’s no hiding from that and there are a number of other Domane options including the 5.2 at around the same price that weigh quite a bit less ( circa 1.5kgs).

However, even for a lightweight like me, weight isn’t everything, it’s getting out on the road and riding it that’s key. Working out how the bike feels through the seat of your pants.

In the flesh, I really like the look of the bike. The matt carbon with red highlights works really well and personally I’ve already been won over to the look of disc bikes. Some of my riding companions have been less effusive (I’m being diplomatic) about the look, particularly of the rotors and disc brakes – especially at the front of the bike. Me, I like it, but I know that’s also influenced by the time I’ve already spent riding the Shimano disc brakes and I think they perform fantastically.

The specification of the bike is solid, with good dependable kit and components from the bars and stem down to the tyres (25mm by the way, although there’s loads of clearance for 28mm or perhaps even wider). You can tell this is a bike designed and specced to last well, from the through axles to the choices of most components. Strength, toughness and durability are, to me, writ large on the spec sheet. It’s a bike that in just looking at, you know that you’ll break well before it will. It’s a bike that looks like it’s ready smash some cobbles or what we call road surfaces in the UK in this age of Austerity (some local roads make Flanders cobbles look good).

Initial riding impressions:

In action on the Domane Disc 4.5

I’ve put in a couple of rides on the Domane 4.5 Disc so far, totalling in around 150km. So these observations are first impressions only and I’ll write more once I’ve got more time in the saddle.

This is definitely a smooth bike, you still feel the big hits when you ride over rough surfaces and potholes (and I’ve aimed for quite a few so far), but the impact is definitely dulled and more by the rear than the front. That being said the fork still does an impressive job of smoothing rough surfaces.

There’s no question either about the IsoSpeed Decoupler, it works, you can feel the seatpost move a little as you ride across rough ground and it definitely makes for a more comfortable ride. The movement is just enough to not make it feel like it’s too much or that your position is shifting too far. Obviously when you get out the saddle, the bike feels very stiff as you’d expect as you remove the impact of the IsoSpeed Decoupler.

The disc brakes and through axles give a real feeling of solidity and strength through the platform and seem to work well together.

Ultegra mechs, 105 cassette and chain with non-series R500 compact cranks

Ultegra mechanical works as well as you’d expect and is easy to adjust, should you need to. The brakes are fantastic unsurprisingly but I’ve had some pinging from one of the rotors coming out of bends, so I think I’m going to need to tweak the front disc brake position a touch.

The bars are comfortable as is the Bontrager Bar tape, the saddle perhaps a touch overpadded for me, has been absolutely fine to ride so far.

Wheel detail

The wheels, whilst not super light roll wheel and are shrugging off me riding them over most of the roughest ground I can find. The tyres too, whilst far from the top of the range that Bontrager make ride nicely and grip well.

The only negative thing I can find to say so far is that at 9.3kgs all in, for me, the bike doesn’t feel especially spritely or snappy as the relatively heavy build dulls the performance a touch. That being said I did manage a gold time on a sportive on the first ride but I found the extra weight over some of my lighter bikes felt like it made it a little harder to ride fast. Heavier bikes of course bring more training benefit  and as I said, weight’s not everything.

Early impression are that the Trek Domane 4.5 Disc is a smooth, comfortable and strong bike, that’ll shrug off whatever poor road surfaces you encounter. However, it’s carrying a little extra weight compared to some of the rest of the Domane family and this has an impact on liveliness and the general feeling of the bike on the road.

I’m off to get more mileage in and will write more once I have.

Trek Domane 4.5 Disc Road Bike 2015

The Trek Domane 4.5 Disc Road Bike is new for 2015 and features Trek's Endurance geometry, a nice balance between an outright race position and a more relaxed one. The Endurance fit, makes it one of the most versatile road bikes on the market. Finished with the Shimano Ultegra 11-spd drivetrain, Shimano R685 Hydraulic Brakes, Bontrager Affinity Comp Tubeless Ready Wheelset, Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite Tyres and Bontrager Paradigm 3 saddle the new Domane 4.5 Disc will deliver on all levels.

The Domane 4.5 Disc Road Bike may be new for 2015 but the Domane range has been used for a number of seasons by many professional athletes as well as teams such as Trek Factory Racing and MTN Qhubeka. The range is renowned for being lightweight and tough and stiff yet still offering a comfortable ride. No wonder this in the preferred model for the king of cobbles, Fabian Cancellara.

IsoSpeed technology in the frame allows the seat tube to rotate independently from the top-tube-to-seat stay junction, increasing vertical compliance to twice that of the nearest competitor, without compromising pedalling efficiency. The IsoSpeed fork has a generous ride-tuned sweep with the shape increasing compliance for a smoother ride, and unique dropout placement optimising the wheelbase while an extra curve above the dropout in the swept-leg design creates a smaller angle to the direction of road vibrations. This angle increases fore/aft compliance, better positioning the fork leg to absorb road force rather than transmitting it straight to the rider. The fork lateral stiffness has also been increased maximising both smoothness and control. Both aspects resulting in a bike that you can ride faster for longer.

Power Transfer Construction ensures you get the most out of every pedal stroke by optimising the head tube, down tube, bottom bracket and rear wheel connection. The Domane 4.5 Disc Road Bike 2015 features an E2 head tube which tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1-1/8" upper bearing, and is wider side to side than front to back. This asymmetric steering system minimises weight while maximising power transfer and keeping the fork stiffer under cornering loads. Resulting in a more powerful and confident ride.

Also featured on the Domane 4.5 Disc is a 3S integrated chain keeper integrated directly into the bike frame. It's an elegant solution that provides flawless gear shifting even on rough roads and under heavy loads. No more standing on the side of the road, covered in grease, unwedging your dropped chain as competitors race by.

The Trek-exclusive carbon BB90 bottom bracket makes the frame lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate. While discreet vanishing mudguard mounts accommodate full-coverage mudguards for added utility and DuoTrap compatibility sees the end of cable ties allowing you to seamlessly integrate a computer sensor into the frame to measure speed, distance, and cadence with no added aerodynamic drag. It works with all the major ANT wireless technology players, including Bontrager, Garmin, PowerTap, and SRM.

The brakes on the Domane 4.5 Disc are post mounted, which is the simplest, most efficient way to mount a brake calliper to your bike. Works great, reduces weight and delivers smooth all-weather stopping to your road bike.

There is really average menu of Italian cuisine, you can find nothing special there. Tasty (not extra, but ok) food, but prices for everything are really very high! It’s so strange, because you don’t get something interesting or unusual for this price. There is no... cocktail card, only wine and liquors. For example, prices for glass of wine starts from 1500rur, and it’s a glass of typical Sauvignon Blanc (also nothing exceptional). Good place for dinner or meetings. You definitely can find better place for less amount of money. More

Wine list is very good - there plenty of different variety of italian wines, from the entry level up to the too, 64 pages! But what they do on the kitchen we do not know. Food preparation for the level restaurant was before not high,... especially for stakes. Service is nice, but sometimes is sluppy. More

While Moscow has several great Italian restaurants, I believe Semifreddo has that little bit more which really sets it above the others and, for me, it is the best Italian restaurant in Moscow. Owned and managed by Nino Graziano (2 Michelin star for his Sicilian... restaurant outside Palermo - Il Mulizzano), you can really feel the touch of the chef when you arrive at Semifreddo. This sets it apart from too many Moscow restaurants which are run unpersonally by some "managers" with employed chefs reproducing faultlessly some standardised recipes. The decor is nice, with a strong contrats between the dark wood of the inside room and the airy feel of the well heated (this is Moscow after all!) veranda. The food is wonderful, with menus that change during the course of the year while retaining some well loved favourites: baby calmars and artichokes panfried with coarse salt, octopus carpaccio with pistachios, spaghetti with lobster and zucchini, grilled chop of veal etc. etc. The Sicilian degustation menu, if you have a bit of time and you are sufficiently hungry, is also fascinating and includes many of Nino's signature dishes. In season, if you are lucky, you may see Nino carving a giant fresh tuna fish for his guests and you can order what will likely be your best ever tuna carpaccio. One of my friends who is an expert in Italian wines and constantly travels all over Europe (including to Italy) once told me that the wine list was the best and most extensive (and also probably the most expensive - again, this is Moscow after all!) he had ever seen, with amazing vertical collections of some of the most iconic Italian wines. A few words about the service: friendly, professional but not obsequious. Also very good with young children (not that frequent in Moscow) and happy to accommodate any special request from the guests. I got here 6:55. My order for wine and appetizer was taken 7:05. Wine was here 7:10. At 7:50 I had to ask where my appetizer where? 5 minutes later it arrived mind you in was a cheese plate. I was pissed but when I... tasted and saw the cheese plate I was like hmm ok. So I waited till 8:25 and finally asked for the manager. He came and I explained how my wine guy has been to my table 3 times to refill my wine but the person who took my order hasnt been here in 1:20 to even check on me. He said he was sorry and said they were busy. There was 3 tables filled thats it. Nobody eats early like me. So I said bring my check please. When he did the waiter who I hadnt seen in over a hour came along. He said I thought you would wave to me if you wanted me. WHAT THE? Isnt this suppose to be a 5 star place. I have NEVER walked out of a place until tonight. The worst service I have ever had EVER. If you speak only English skip this place they are rude and not at all concerned about the customer. Well except the wine guy but when a bottle is $300 I think they try to get you to drink and buy more. More

The Restaurant Looks very nice. It starts with a very bad welcome service and unfortunately it continues with a bad service. The food is nicely presented but the quality/ price ratio is super bad. I cannot recommend this Place.

To all non Russian visitors please beware and stay WELL AWAY away from this place. The Concierge Vadim at the BaltschugKempinski where I stayed for a few nights recommended this restaurant. Since my feedback it has been removed from their list. They tried to double... charge me my multiplying the main courses by two and then blamed their secure PIN by saying " it is the machine sorry". They offered no complimentary drink, coffee or discount to mollify their sloppiness and looked disappointed I had not fallen for their trick. Please take my advice and choose somewhere else, More

20 years ago it was normal in russian restaurants that everything had to be expensive otherwise it wasn t good....i thought the situation has changed but it has not...this restaurant is the biggest rip-off you can imagine...the completly overpriced food has nothing to do with... real italien food...i thought the russians also learned to appreciate quality not just expensive prices...the wine prices are just ridiculous...its around 2 ore 3 times more than in italy..and on top they serve the grappa ice cold..then the waiter offered me a grappa at room temperature..after the drink didn t come for 5 minutes i turned around and saw the waiter holding the bottle under hot water!! This place is very close from my home,so I've passed by very often,but as I remember it was pretty expensive when I was here many years ago(it was in a bit different address but close) The food and service is 5/5 ! High quality ingredients... served well and you feel the taste of your last Italian vacation!)) It might be a bit pricey but if you know what to order - it s is pretty ok. I ordered gazpacho and red shrimps+scampi+squash spaghetti!and may say that portions are quite enough,in spite the fact that you wiil be served with some appetizer-compliment and dont order the dessert as you will be also served with some small sweet varieties. This place is good, if 200-300 euro per person does not leave you wondering that you've been offered a bad deal. Wine list is extensive and ranges from several thousand euros to 120. By the glass, wine is around 25 euro. Food is of good... quality, but not exceptional. Half of the restaurant is a covered veranda and gives you this feeling that you are in a tent, but an expensive one. The roof has stains from leakage. No pizzas. More

I have been visiting to Semifredo since opening about ten years ago. One of the most important thing that it has not spoiled since time like it often happens with trendy places in Moscow. I had more than 60-80 visits to the restaurant : with... partners from all over the Europe, with family, with friends. Alway best food quality and fantastic wine list ( I am a wine lover too). If you want some special meat you can choose from "Semiramis " menu - contains the best from one of the famous restaurant in Moscow ( now closed). This restaurant is surely not cheap, but is well worth the money. The interior of the place is very beautiful, just perfect for a night out with your significant other. Set up is simple since the restaurant is in the back yard of a building and there is no views of anything interesting .But food and wine menu choices, quality and service are superior really .
