How Does Vinted Work? A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Sell on Vinted

Vinted is a vibrant community-driven marketplace for buying, selling, and swapping second-hand clothing and accessories.

Founded in 2008 by Milda Mitkute and Justas Janauskas, Vinted began as a simple idea to declutter closets and has grown into a global platform with over 80 million members across 16 markets. 🌎

With a mission to make second-hand the first choice, Vinted offers a user-friendly platform for people to sell clothes they no longer wear, discover unique pre-loved items, and participate in a sustainable fashion movement.

The company's operations are supported by a diverse team and leading venture capital firms, emphasizing its commitment to connecting and empowering its community members.

💡 Tip: There are currently no selling fees on Vinted! Vinted fees are paid by the buyer.

Thinking about selling on Vinted? Here is everything you need to know. We’ll cover everything chronologically, from creating an account to listing, fees, shipping, and everything in between, including expert Vinted tips and tricks.

How to Set up a Vinted Account

Creating an account on Vinted is simple.  To create an account on Vinted, visit their website or download the Vinted app from the Apple Store or Google Play.

On the app, you can choose to sign up through Facebook, Google, Apple, or your email. Next, create a unique username. That’s it- you’re in.

Optimize your profile by adding a profile picture and verifying your account to establish authenticity. Access and create your “About Me” section by navigating to “Profile” and then “Settings” followed by “Profile Details.”  Then, you’ll be ready to list.

Commercial Selling on Vinted

Note that Vinted does not allow commercial selling . If you have a legal business, you won’t be able to sell as one; instead, you have to sell as an individual. There is nothing on Vinted’s help center that prohibits users from selling for a profit (“resellers”). Instead, it prohibits formal businesses and some specific business-related activities:

Vinted does not allow:

  • Selling or acting as a business or on behalf of one.
  • The resale of items purchased in bulk
  • Dropshipping
  • Selling custom items made to order
  • The use of stock images or professional images

Learn more about Vinted’s prohibited commercial activities here .

Vinted Top Sellers: What To Sell on Vinted

Vinted has a wide range of selling categories. While most known for fashion, there are so many things you can sell on Vinted!

If you’re familiar with Poshmark, the Vinted categories are nearly identical. 👀

You can sell the following items on Vinted:

  • Women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, footwear and accessories.
  • New (not used) cosmetics, beauty products and beauty gadgets.

Kid’s Items:

  • Children’s toys, furniture and childcare equipment.

Entertainment & Electronics:

  • Tech accessories such as headphones, smart watches, phone cases and similar items.
  • Entertainment items such as video games, consoles and accessories, books, games, puzzles, and music and video.

Home & Decor:

  • Homeware such as textiles, tableware, home accessories and seasonal & party decorations.
  • Pet care items such as clothing, accessories, bedding, travel accessories, and toys.

Generally, if an item does not fit within the categories above, it cannot be sold on Vinted. Obviously, you cannot sell anything that is hazardous, dangerous, illegal, intangible, or something that cannot be shipped. Learn more about Vinted’s catalog rules here.

💡 Tip: If you currently sell on Depop, consider crosslisting to Vinted. Their niche is very similar.

The Vinted Listing Process: How to Sell on Vinted

Creating listings on Vinted is straightforward. Listing an item for sale is as simple as a photograph, description, and price! Together, we’ll walk through each step of the process.

Vinted Photo Guidelines & Tips

First, you’ll want to capture great photographs of your items. Looks matter: you want to take the best pictures to help sell your items sell.

💡 Tip: Lighting is the key to good photographs.

On Vinted, you can add up to 20 photographs to your listing. Be sure to photograph every side, angle, detail, tag, feature, and flaw on your item. This provides the buyer with everything they need to make a purchase.

Note that Vinted strictly prohibits stock images and professional photography pursuant to their commercial selling policy (see above). For best results, just take clear, bright images with a lightly-colored background to attract buyers without Vinted removing your images for “commercial use.”

Here is an example of the photos from one of my Vinted listings. Notice how I photographed everything ! Not only is this helpful for prospective buyers, but it offers further protection in the event of a dispute.

Vinted Title & Description: Maximize SEO and Make More Sales on Vinted

Listing on Vinted is super simple! You will create a title and description and then enter the information in the listing fields for category, brand, size, condition, colors, material, and price.

I highly recommend executing all the listing fields entirely to maximize searchability and exposure.

On Vinted, there does not appear to be a character limit to titles and descriptions, so you have plenty of room to describe your items with keywords.

Do not underestimate the importance of your title and description on Vinted. Most purchases do not happen by chance or by frivolous news feed scrolling; many are a direct result of a search performed by the buyer.

The key is maximizing your titles & descriptions to enhance your rankings and increase sales.

A perfect Vinted title includes the Brand, What It Is, Color, and Size.

A perfect Vinted description includes, as applicable:

  • What the item is
  • The style name or brand’s title of the item
  • Style Type and Features
  • Size and Size Type
  • Material Composition
  • Colors & Patterns
  • Relevant Measurements
  • Style Tags and Keywords

Here is an example of a title and description on Vinted:

Vinted

Notice how it contains all the information a buyer could possibly need or search for if they were looking for an item like mine. ✅

Notice how it does not include any commercial seller language, as the same is prohibited on Vinted (see above).

Vinted SEO & Drop-Down Fields

Depending on your item, you will execute the drop-down fields to provide more information about your items

vinted listing template

💡 Tip: Even if a field is optional, fill it out. These fields are usually the filters that buyers search by. Do not assume that you don’t need to put the color because a buyer can see it. If a buyer is searching for a blue coat and uses the color filter, and you have not entered the color on your listing, the buyer will not see your coat.

SEO (search engine optimization) is one of my favorite topics. Learn more about how to optimize your listings to make more sales in The Reseller’s Guide to SEO .

Pricing on Vinted: How Much Should I Sell My Item For?

On Vinted, as in all peer-to-peer reselling marketplaces, pricing is a science. You want to price competitively enough to attract potential buyers but high enough to leave room for offers, price drops, and profit, of course.

If you have no idea where to start , consider browsing “Comps.” 👀 Comps (comparables) refer to other listings for similar or identical products. For example, before selling an Osh Kosh 90s Vintage Children’s Coat, I performed a search on Vinted as if I were looking to buy one . This helped me to get an idea of comps: what other similar items are selling for. This is a great starting point.

Bumping on Vinted: How to Promote Your Items

You might have noticed the “Bump Item” field on the listing form. On Vinted, bumping is an optional promotional tool.

Vinted

An Item Bump is a paid feature to promote individual items from your closet. When you bump an item, it is displayed higher in newsfeeds and search results for either 3 or 7 consecutive days.

The cost of an Item Bump depends on your listing price and the duration of the bump. In this example above, the coat was listed for $49.99, and a three-day bump would cost $1.51. In my experience, bumping is very much worth it- especially because Vinted has zero selling fees (see below).

Vinted Selling Fees & Getting Paid on Vinted

There are no selling fees for the seller on Vinted!  Some fees are paid to Vinted by the buyer at the time of sale.

Once your sale is successfully closed, you’ll receive the full selling price straight to your Vinted Wallet.

Here is how the Vinted Wallet Works:

  • Immediately upon sale, the balance shows as “pending” in your Vinted Wallet.
  • The buyer has 2 days after delivery to confirm receipt and examine the item.
  • If they do not open a claim, the pending payment moves to your available balance.
  • From there, they can use the balance to make purchases on Vinted or send the balance to your bank account.

Vinted Shipping: How to Ship on Vinted

Shipping is simple on Vinted! 📦  At the time of listing, the seller enters the approximate weight and dimensions of the item . They’re approximate, so you don’t necessarily need a scale, but it certainly won’t hurt.

Here’s everything you need to know:

The buyer chooses the shipping method on Vinted. When the buyer completes the order, they will select the shipping provider of their choice. Options vary by your settings, your location, and the buyer’s location. To see options available for you to offer as a seller, click here . Then, you simply print the label sent to you by email and ship it with the correct carrier.

The buyer pays for shipping on Vinted.  The shipping expenses are added to the item’s price and shown in the total order sum at the checkout. Shipping rates depend on the package's size and both the buyer’s and the seller’s locations.

💡 Tip: You must ship your Vinted order within 5 days, or it will be automatically canceled.

Here is what the shipping section looks like for me on a Vinted listing:

Vinted

I simply selected the approximate size of my item. In my settings, I’ve opted to ship in all of the ways possible in my area to give buyers various options!

Managing Your Vinted Closet

Vinted is straightforward without too many tools or requirements to promote your listings. Sellers love the simplicity of Vinted in comparison with more complex marketplaces like eBay.

Here are some expert Vinted tips and tricks:

2. Enhanced listings with excellent photographs, competitive prices, and strong titles and descriptions sell most quickly on Vinted.

3. Bump Your Listings. Paid promotion can absolutely help you to increase your sales on Vinted. Scroll up to learn more about how to bump your listings. Remember, Vinted has no selling fees, so even if you pay to bump… it’s not a big hit to take.

We're Vinted Experts—5 Pro Ways to Find the Best Fashion Deals

While I've never really been one for resolutions, this year I made two that I'm determined to stick to. One was to be more financially responsible and the other was to embrace more sustainable shopping habits. Luckily for me, secondhand marketplace Vinted exists, and it's proved to be the key to helping me keep both.

Yes, there's nothing quite like the rush of a new fashion purchase, but as we all know, everyone needs to do their part to help the planet, and fashion—particularly fast fashion—is one of the biggest polluting culprits. Making a reselling platform like Vinted part of your shopping habits can help on so many levels. You still get the thrill of a new purchase but with several added bonuses: you're paying a fraction of the original retail cost, potentially finding something that has sold out in stores , saving an item from going to landfill and opting out of the production-demand cycle by choosing not to buy something brand new. That's a quadruple win.

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704212120707-main

Vinted pro Sophie Longmire found this on-trend red jumper on the resale platform.

A few months ago, I discovered the other big perk of Vinted: selling. With the start of a new season you're likely feeling the urge to do a spring clean of your wardrobe and create space for some fresh finds. By selling on Vinted, you not only keep the pieces you no longer love out of landfill, but you also make money from them that you can use to buy items that do spark joy (or just use it for something else). Oh, how we love a circular fashion economy.

If you're planning on joining me in a sustainable fashion commitment, I've done some digging for expert advice on how to navigate Vinted like a pro. As well as Vinted's consumer lead Natacha Blanchard , I spoke to Manchester-based influencer Sophie Longmire —a longtime Vinted shopper who's bought some seriously enviable pieces from the site—and content creator and sustainable shopping advocate Bianca Foley . Here's what they had to share.

1. BE SPECIFIC WITH YOUR SEARCHES

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704208055517-main

Longmire's long skirt is another one of her many Vinted finds.

"Rather than typing 'mini skirt,' it's better to start an advanced search without keywords, and specify each category and sub-category, including the sizes that usually fit you, colours, the brands you want (if you already know), your price range and the desired condition. Then, you will have exactly the selection that matches your filters," says Blanchard . "And try varying the product name you’re searching for, as not everyone uses the same term."

Longmire adds that she's found a lot of success by focusing on searching for specific brands. "I find it easiest to navigate the app when the algorithm knows the brands I like, so I always search for brands I know and love, and most importantly, that I know my sizing in." The more you keep looking for these brands, the more likely it is your Vinted home screen will promote similar pieces to you.

Foley agrees, and says that "Be specific" is her number-one tip. "If you type in 'black dress,' for example, you will get a lot of results, so narrow it down by brand or style in order to limit the results and find what you really want," she says.

2. START SMALL

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704209667170-main

Lucy Williams found these sold-out Wales Bonner x Adidias Sambas on Vinted.

From Sambas to Celine belts, Vinted is a perfect place to find designer, high-street and vintage shoes and accessories. "If you’re a secondhand beginner, a great way to start is to look for accessories such as shoes, bags and jewellery , since size and fit will be easier to determine," says Blanchard . "Then, once you’ve seen how easy the process is, you can work your way up."

3. GO FOR BUNDLES

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704209025986-main

This Ganni jacket? It's from Vinted, of course!

"Vinted allows shoppers to buy in 'bundles' (multiple items from one seller), and making use of this is another clever way to save money, since sellers are usually willing to offer further discounts for buying multiple items," says Blanchard . "It’s a handy feature for buyers as you can often find similar styles in your size without needing to start a new search. Plus, you can save on paying separate delivery charges, since everything can be shipped in one package—which is also better for the planet."

Foley also likes to shop bundles from one seller, and recommends hitting that follow button when you find an account you love. "Loads of your favourite content creators are now on Vinted, so why not buy their wardrobes? More often than not, they’re selling really good quality and hardly worn pieces for a fraction of the price," she says.

4. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704207413959-main

A Paloma Wool jumper thrifted from Vinted.

One of the key things that sets Vinted apart from other secondhand marketplace platforms is the buyer-seller communication. "Don’t be afraid to message sellers for more information; perhaps you’d like to see the item in a better light, request measurements or want a close-up. Sellers are usually very keen to help," says Blanchard . It's particularly important to get in touch with the seller if you're buying a designer item. "Do ask for proof [that the item is genuine], such as a receipt or certificate of authenticity, and ask for photo close-ups of details such as the logo, stitching lines, hardware and label, to check that they are of high quality," she adds.

Foley suggests that before you commit to a purchase, "Ask specific questions, check the listings thoroughly and even request more photos if you need to," she says. "And if you’re buying an item for £10 that is worth much more, you will have to expect that it’s not [going to be] perfect!" You also shouldn't shy away from haggling—there's a reason there's a very prominent "Make an offer" button. Blanchard recommends starting out by offering 10-20% off the listing price, but you may be able to get a bigger discount if the item has been listed for a long time, as the seller will likely be more motivated to get rid of it. "One of my favourite finds is a Paloma Wool jumper," says Longmire . "I got such a good deal because I sent an offer to the seller that they accepted, and now I wear it weekly."

5. GET SELLING

how-to-shop-vinted-311466-1704211011813-main

A long dress is such a versatile piece to see you through the seasons.

The mark of a true Vinted-er is being a seller as well as a buyer. "Last year I sold loads of my own clothes on Vinted," says Longmire . "Not only did it ensure that someone else gets wear and joy out of them, but it also gave me the funds to get new secondhand things to make up my full holiday wardrobe."

If you decide to give it a go, Blanchard stresses that it's important to set yourself up for success. That means taking lots of high-quality photos, writing a great, detailed description and filling in all the relative categories such as size and condition. "If you need help pricing your item, a great place to start is to search for similar items and see the average selling price," she says. "You can then position yourself competitively depending on factors such as the brand and item condition." And if your item does have some flaws or signs of wear, don't try to pretend they're not there; it's better to show them and be upfront initially rather than deal with a disgruntled buyer and bad reviews later on.

27 tips for selling on Vinted: How I funded my holidays by selling stuff I don’t need!

I was late to the game when it came to Vinted. I signed up in June last year and listed some of my daughter’s old clothes. They didn’t sell and the pile of clothes sat in the corner of her bedroom gathering dust. Eventually someone offered me £1.50 for a massive bag of clothes and I ended up spending £2.70 on a postage bag big enough to fit them all.

It was not a good first experience and vowed to not bother trying again.

But for some reason I did try again.

I listed a pair of my son’s trainers that had barely been worn. I priced them too low and they sold in less than a minute. I learned a valuable lesson about pricing but I was hooked. I smugly drove to my local Evri drop-off thinking that was the easiest tenner I’d ever made.

I got home and then scurried around my house collecting items we no longer used. Cookery books, ornaments, shoes, coats, toys. I listed it all. If it hadn’t moved for a week, I listed it.

My Vinted balance went up and up (you can choose to withdraw your money or you can keep it there as your balance mounts up) but it wasn’t just the money that was motivating me, it was the satisfaction of decluttering my home.

I have three children and my home is constantly messy. I’m not a clean-freak (you can’t be with three kids!) but I do love it when my home feels neat and organised. I feel so much calmer when everything is in its place. I just always had too much stuff to keep it tidy!

Before I knew it, I’d made £180. I’d planned to keep it in my account but then a friend asked if I’d like to go to a health and wellbeing retreat. The cost? £180.

Well, well, well. You can see where this was going…

I was soon listing more with the intention of reaching enough to book a glamping break with the kids (£100). And then a flight to Lanzarote (£70). And then a hotel (£120). And then another spa (£90)!

Yes, within a few months I’d made over £500 on Vinted.

Now I know what you’re thinking. Who has enough crap around their house to sell it and make £500!?

I honestly didn’t think I had that much stuff either. The majority of the things I sold weren’t high value items. There were some items I got more than £20 for but it was mostly quantity over quality. I sold a lot of £2 items!

Travel Hack Tip: Keep an eye on the new ‘Side Hustle Tax’ for online sellers. If you’re earning more than £1,000 a year through a side hustle, you’ll need to declare it to HMRC and register as self-employed. For some people, it’ll be easiest to stop selling just before you reach the £1,000 threshold.

Here’s how I used Vinted to pay for my holidays!

1. Start by reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up

If you aren’t feeling motivated to sell all your stuff then I highly recommend reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo . There’s a Netflix series too!

Spoiler alert: The secret to tidying up is basically getting rid of 80% of your stuff!

I read this book years ago and I suddenly realised I had so much junk I didn’t need.

Once you’ve read the book, start watching documentaries like The Minimalists and then move on to YouTube videos about minimalism and decluttering.

Before you know it, you’ll have a massive pile of stuff you want to get rid of!

2. Uploading to the app

It’s really easy to upload items to the Vinted app and once you get into the swing of things you’ll be able to do it quickly.

I recommend taking photos in the app so you don’t end up with a camera roll full of random product items. It just makes the process quicker and easier too.

I like to post via Evri because I can then print the postage sticker at the drop-off station (my local petrol station) which is open long hours.

3. Take photos with good lighting and a plain background

Items will sell faster with a good photo but you don’t need to be a pro photographer!

Take your photos next to a window with natural lighting and make sure your background is clear, bright and uncluttered.

4. Use your phone to take photos

If you are a photographer and have a good camera, I actually recommend taking photos on your phone. People are suspicious if your photos are ‘too good’!

5. How to price items

You don’t need to pay postage fees (it’s charged directly to the buyer) and there are no selling fees on Vinted so you don’t need to factor these costs into the price.

Have a quick look to see how much similar items sold for before creating your listing. Vinted always recommends selling it for less so do your own research.

Price it a little higher because people will negotiate and try to knock you down.

Don’t forget that you can adjust the price at any time, so if you’ve priced it too high you can always bring it down after a day or two.

If it’s a little overpriced, people will ‘favourite’ the item but won’t actually buy. You can then reduce the price of all your listings on the same day and it’s likely they’ll all get snapped up and you can post everything together.

6. Price to sell

If you’re selling things on Vinted to declutter your home rather than to make money then you can price things really low and they’ll get snapped up so quickly!

I have times where I think ‘I just want rid of this now!’ and I’ll price it really low just to get it posted.

7. Clothes sell faster with a photo of a person wearing the item

In my experience, clothes sell faster if the first photo includes a person wearing the item.

It doesn’t have to be a great photo. Just a mirror selfie with your head chopped off will do!

If you’ve had a look on the app already then you’ll notice that most people photograph clothes laid out on the floor or hanging up against a blank wall. Yes, it shows the clothes but it’s difficult to imagine what the item looks like.

(I don’t do this with kid’s clothes, only my own.)

8. Steam or iron your clothes before uploading a photo

I also find clothes sell faster if you make a bit of effort to make them look good. If something is really creased then I’ll quickly steam it.

I use a steamer similar to this and it’s great. I love it for travelling and quickly getting rid of creases. I haven’t ironed since I bought it!

9. Don’t package things up BEFORE they sell

You might be thinking you’re getting ahead of yourself by packaging items up before they sell, so you’re all ready to post it quickly when it does sell.

Whenever I’ve done this I’ve found that people end up buying a bundle of items so I need to repackage it anyway!

10. Use post-it notes to label your packages

Let’s say you’ve sold 3 books, 2 jumpers and a pair of shoes and you’re packaging them up to sell. The parcels are all different shapes and sizes so you’re confident you know which is which.

And then you get to the post office three hours later and you have no idea which is which.

I either leave the parcel open and close it when I add the postage label at the drop off point or I add sticky notes to my parcels to remember which is which.

11. Bundle items that aren’t selling

If you’ve got similar items that aren’t selling, bundle them together into a cheap bundle and they get snapped up quickly.

I had some kid’s school trousers that weren’t selling. So I bundled them together with school shorts, PE shorts and PE joggers and they sold immediately.

12. Buy postage bags from Temu

I recommend keeping any boxes or postage bags you get when you buy anything online. But eventually you’re going to run out so buy your postage bags on Temu. I found Temu to be cheapest but be aware that it can take up to 10 days for Temu to deliver items so you’ll need to get prepared. You can buy them on Amazon too but they’re a bit more expensive.

13. Offer discounts for bundles

You can set up a discount for buyers to purchase multiple items. You choose the discount % for the amount of items bought.

I find this works really well for low value items, especially books.

14. Upload regularly

Items are often listed on Vinted by ‘What’s new’ so if you’re uploading every few days then you’ll always be near the top.

Buyers might see a book you’ve just uploaded and then go onto your profile and see more items you listed a week ago, so it’s worth uploading as often as you can.

15. List all books

I used to be the kind of person who had bookshelves filled with books. I was so proud of my books! But the books slowly became a nuisance, taking up valuable storage space and becoming another thing that needed dusting.

I prefer to read on my Kindle and I never read the same book twice so I decided it was time to get rid of my books.

I’ve now sold nearly all of my books, including coffee table books and cookery books, and I’ve made about £200 on books alone. OK, that’s a fraction of what I originally paid for them but it’s enough for a weekend away!

I’m now in the process of selling children’s books that my kids have outgrown but I’m finding these a really emotional one to let go off!

16. Ladies accessories sell well

Bags, shoes and jewellery sell really well and for a fairly high value in comparison to clothes.

17. Baby items also sell well

We all know how quickly babies grow out of things, so Vinted is a brilliant place to buy and sell baby items.

18. A steam cleaner is great to clean up trainers and shoes

I’m always surprised by the amount of people who list dirty shoes on Vinted! Just give them a quick scrub and you’ll get an extra tenner for them!

If you’ve put your shoes in the washing machine and they’re still a bit grubby, a steam cleaner is a great way to get rid of the final stains.

19. Don’t dismiss low value items

You may be thinking there isn’t much point selling things for £1. And you’d be right, there isn’t. By the time you’ve photographed it, uploaded it, packed it up and taken it to the shop or Post Office it really wasn’t worth your time.

But if you’ve got 10 x £1 items to post then it starts becoming a bit more worth it.

Again, you might be thinking it’s not worth it even for a tenner but it adds up quickly.

Like I said in the intro, the vast majority of my Vinted sales have been low value items.

20. You’ve got 5 days to post

Don’t forget you’ve got 5 days to post your items so you can wait a few days and post when you’ve got a big bundle. If you have to travel to your drop off point then this can make it more worth your time.

But don’t forget the buyer leaves feedback which stays on your profile and you’ll get better feedback if you post items quickly. I try to post within 3 days and my feedback is very good.

21. Reduce items by 50p on a Sunday evening

Sunday evenings are a big day for internet users, especially shoppers. This is often when I sell a big chunk of whatever I’m selling on Vinted.

Vinted users can ‘favourite’ items. Once they’ve favorited it they’ll get a notification if you drop the price. So drop the price of lots of items on a Sunday evening and you’ll notice people will snap them up because they’re already on their phone and see that notification.

22. You can sell used beauty items

This might be controversial but I’ve sold lots of opened beauty items. You have to select that they’re ‘new with tags’ but if you put it in the item description that it’s been opened and used then people will still buy them!

I recently sold all my nail varnishes, my dip nail colour pots, two electronic cleansing brushes, a facial steam cleaner and some essential oils which had all been opened.

I wouldn’t sell half a bottle of shampoo or anything like that but some people don’t mind a bottle of essential oil with a few drops missing!

23. Don’t forget to change your shipping method

When you buy something from Vinted you can select which delivery courier to use. You might want Yodel, Evri, Royal Mail, InPost or DPD and the buyer will select whichever is most convenient for them.

But don’t forget to select which is most convenient for you!

When I first started selling I didn’t realise I could adjust this because almost everyone selected Evri. But then someone selected Yodel and I had to spend 30 minutes driving to a Yodel delivery drop off point at a random petrol station miles away. I got lost, there was a massive queue and I had the kids with me and ended up spending more on sweets and chocolate than I’d earned through selling my item!

I now have my selling postage preferences set so I only post via Evri. I haven’t noticed any difference to my sales so I assume most people don’t mind.

24. Sell seasonal items during the right season

If you can hang on to items until the appropriate season then you’ll get more money for them. Try selling swimsuits in December and you’ll see what I mean!

25. Don’t buy sweets and chocolates when you post items!

You may have noticed that the postage counters are always next to a confectionary aisle! I got into a habit of buying sweets and chocolates each time I posted by bag or parcels…and then realised I was spending more on chocolate than I was earning.

If you’ve got kids, I highly recommend not taking them with you to post items.

26. Have a ‘selling goal’

When you’ve sold a few items on Vinted you’ll have a stash of cash in your Vinted account and it’s going to be very tempting to spend it! Try to avoid temptation and don’t splurge on that bargain pair of Doc Martens or those trainers you’ve wanted for ages (I’m talking to myself here. For the record, I bought both and regretted it!)

Have a goal in mind and keep the money in your Vinted account until you’ve reached that goal.

Realistically, if you earn £30 a week and you transfer the money into your bank account, you probably won’t notice that money coming in. But if you keep it there and wait until you’ve £300 and book a holiday, that’s going to make a big difference!

27. Don’t REclutter

If selling on Vinted has taught me one thing, it’s that I don’t need to buy all this clutter in the first place.

Most things sell for less than 10% of the original value so the best way to save money and avoid cluttering up your home is simply to not buy it in the first place!

MICHYBOOSCLOSET

Sunday 18th of February 2024

I might give it a go again after being out off by a buyer who simply decided the item didnt suit her and raised a car against me before contacting me. Of course Vinted sides with her and refunded her. I was so mad/disappointed that I deleted the app. I would only sell used clothes on there now and not any of my lovely new with tag designer stuff!

Thursday 4th of January 2024

Thanks so much for this! I’m on MAT leave & have so much good stuff to get out of the house. Vinted will be a brand new experience for me & these tips are great ? ?

Customer

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other

Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
