Voyage 4 is a driving game where you jump behind the driver's wheel of several different vehicles to travel along many of Russia's best-known roads. With decent 3D graphics, it's easy to navigate each route to discover new landscapes and explore realistic road conditions.

In Voyage 4, you won't simply be competing against other users to arrive first to a specific destination. Your mission is make the most of each car to venture along roads with a purely realistic driving experience. In fact, there are several camera modes that allow you to observe the development of each level from multiple perspectives.

Control systems in Voyage 4 are simple, so you can easily adapt the way you drive. Specifically, you can turn the steering wheel using arrows that appear on screen or tilt your smartphone to activate its gyroscope. On the other hand, to accelerate or brake all you have to do is click on the right buttons in the game.

Voyage 4 is a driving game that allows you to test your driving skills via a realistic driving sim. Its very decent graphics and intuitive vehicle handling, provide you with hours of fun exploring Russian motorways.

The CWU College of Business has completed the latest edition of Voyage Magazine, and the content is now available online for members of the CWU community to enjoy.

Check out an online version of the magazine to read more about successful CB students like Adrian Rodriguez, Hannah Stires, Cecil Samson, and Daizie Jones. Stories about the VITAL Lab, the annual Cat Tank business plan contest, and BECU’s influential scholarship program are among the other highlights.

The 2024 edition of Voyage also features a detailed look at experiential learning opportunities and their impact on CWU students, plus sections about faculty research and influential alumni. Survey data about where recent College of Business graduates have started their careers is also included in the piece, produced in partnership with University Relations.

Many of the stories contained in the magazine will appear on Central Today this quarter, so stay tuned.

Driving has never been relaxing, especially on the highways for some people. Yet, have you ever wanted to feel the relaxation that it can bring to you? After the successes of Voyage’s first three parts and thanks to its huge fan base, the publisher Existage has decided to launch another sequel: “ Voyage 4” . If this is the first time you heard about “Voyage 4”, the game takes resemblance from “ Driving School 2017 ”, one of the most popular driving games in 2017.

The sequel still takes after some of the most outstanding features from its origins while displaying new additions in the game. In “Voyage 4”, everything has been upgraded to a new level, allowing you and your friends to enjoy the game to the very best. While part three stands out but is considered a mess for its hide-and-chase gameplay, “Voyage 4’ will surely bring you a wonderful time playing.

Moving to part four, the game still takes place in Russia. Players will be traveling on Russian roads in a variety of Russian and German cars, starting the journey from Magadan to the ferry in the Crimea. Even if you are someone who does not play mobile games at all or literally knows nothing about controlling a car, “Voyage 4” is a very understandable driving game title.

There is no specific tutorial, yet everything you need is on the screen, which you can easily learn all by yourself. It can be a bit difficult at first, but the more you play, the easier it becomes. Driving in “Voyage 4” is like a fun road trip on a wide, endless road with beautiful sceneries to enjoy.

Ever since I got my first iPad in 2010, I have been enjoying multiple driving games, and I have never played such a relaxing one as “Voyage 4”. Starting the game, players are provided with a menu list consisting of the start, cars, leaders, polygon, settings, and exit buttons. The game is that simple, all you need is to follow what you play on the screen, and you are good to go.

Before going into the real game, a map is shown for players to keep track of where they are and will go. The map may seem small, once you start, you will feel like there is no end. The main objective is to drive through checkpoints on the world map in order to save the progress of the game. As they go, players can see hometowns and signs are based on real-life tracks such as M51 “Baikal” P504 “Kolyma” with some other historic memorials.

Players will start at the parking lot (if you cannot start there, it is probably because of a shortage of storage in your device). On the screen, players will see all the tools that they can use to control the car: the brake, the speedometer, the accelerator, etc.

To keep track of the way, there is a GPS in your car, or you can just follow the big road and look for signs while driving. Just like real-life driving, you have to drive carefully, look left to right, in front and behind, and do not get hit. The steering wheel can be a little bit difficult to control at first, but players will get used to it in no time.

As players travel from place to place, the time changes from day to night, the weather switches from sunny to cloudy to rainy, the sky switches colors and opens out beautiful views with hills, mountains, towns, forests, etc. Since players are traveling across the country, they can admire the stunning landscape from each specific location. It might get boring at some moment, and you may feel sleepy, it is best to turn on some chill music and feel like you are on a road trip with your friends.

In total, there are twelve Russian and four German cars. There are not many to choose from, however, since each car will have over thirty tuning parts based on real-life parts, I think the choices are enough. They include the engine, the wheels, xenon, and other functions.

All cars have realistic physics and accurate specifications, including the torque graphs and the gear ratios. Each machine has working devices with realistic lighting and mirrors. If you wonder why the driver controls the steering wheel and instruments feel so realistic, it is because the developer has researched about the driver’s hands in detail.

Each car comes with a board of information, including the engine, the body (how heavy it is), and the drive. The stronger the engine, the lighter the car, the faster you can go. Cars will also have their distinctive sounds.

If playing alone bores you, fortunately, “Voyage 4” has supported multiplayer mode for players who want some fun competitions. By competing for the best result of acceleration 0-100km on the test range, players can compare the result with each other online and see who has defeated everyone else. Every competition comes with a rewarding prize, prepare your favorite car and race for it.

The game can be played without a network, yet you cannot you’re your progress or see other players’ results. So, if you do not want to lose your result after a long play, remember to compete with an internet connection.

Vincent Reed’s ‘Voyage of Gold’ triumphs in trumpet competition

In the world of trumpet performance, selection into the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) competition is akin to scaling a musical Mount Everest. For Vincent Reed , who will receive a bachelor of arts in commercial music at the May 4 commencement ceremony, his selection marks not just a milestone but an extraordinary feat.

Reed is the youngest of those on the competition roster, dominated by doctoral candidates and professionals. Out of 90 submissions from around the world, Reed’s composition was one of only 11 selected for performance—an accolade that speaks volumes about his talent and artistry.

“It is an honor to be selected by ITG to perform my original work,” Reed says. “I am so thankful to everyone who has helped guide me.”

His winning piece, “Voyage of Gold,” was inspired by a challenge from his professors, Benjamen Blasko , assistant professor and director of instrumental studies in the School of Music , and Preston Bailey , adjunct faculty and Reed’s trumpet instructor. Their aim was to create a debut piece for the growing Lipscomb Trumpet Ensemble, which was moving from last year’s duo of Reed and Ellie Lundy to a quartet with the inclusion of incoming freshmen Kate Marcino and Bentley Lankford . 

Along the way, Reed recognized that his composition qualified for the prestigious ITG competition. “At that time, I wasn't even thinking of ITG,” he admits. “But when the opportunity presented itself, it was a no-brainer.”

Reed was beyond excited when he received the news that “Voyage of Gold” had been chosen to appear on the New Works Recital at the 2024 ITG Conference in Anaheim, California.

“I was walking into the music building, and I get a call from Bentley who tells me, ‘Hey, you should probably check your e-mail.’ They had sent the results out to everybody, including the performers who are going to be playing the winning pieces. We were together in the lobby of McMeen freaking out, we were so excited.”

Recognizing the huge stakes of the competition, they began focusing on the quartet piece for the rest of the year. Despite the multiple demands of classes and auditions, they put in the time and have prepared well. “It was a lot to ask of them,” Reed acknowledges, “but they've been great sports and are super excited.”

About a month before the competition, the quartet recorded the piece at the Sound Emporium , the Lipscomb-owned professional recording studio with a star-studded history. “Everybody was super comfortable,” Reed says. “They knew their parts really well. It’s going to be great; it just feels good.”

Reed will finish mixing and mastering the recording for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube in early fall. “Voyage of Gold,” is the first piece of what was originally going to be a full concerto for four trumpets in three separate movements. The whole concerto is called “Salt of the Sea” because it's all very pirate-esque, adventure type of music, said Reed.

Beyond the competition, Reed says he is excited about attending the ITG convention for the opportunity of networking with emerging talents and the inspiration and camaraderie the five-day event offers.

“The best part is the opportunity to be among greatness – all of these incredible trumpet players,” said Reed. “We will be able to talk to them and hear their stories and experiences because the whole convention has lots of panels with professional players. I know Alan Vizzutti is going to be there, and he’s actually one of the best players in the entire world.”  

Beyond the accolades, Reed remains grounded in gratitude. “I'm thankful to every single person who has put in so much time and effort,” and extends his appreciation to family, mentors and collaborators.

Following graduation and the ITG competition, Reed will set sail for new musical horizons. His plans include working with some of his graduating peers on their music production company Sonic Squid Studios. Their projects span film, video games and advertisements. Together they have won the College of Entertainment & the Arts Imagine House pitch competition and the CEA 5 Minute Film Festival Dean's Choice award. 

“I plan to keep expanding that business and I'm always going to be doing freelance work,” he said.

Taylor Swift new album 'The Tortured Poets Department' is getting mixed reviews — here's what critics are saying

• Taylor Swift released her 11th studio album "The Tortured Poets Department" last Friday.
• Some critics have praised the album for its "unbridled emotion" and "moments of genuine humor." 
• Others say that Swift has reached a crossroads in her creative process, calling for a stricter edit.

Taylor Swift's 11th studio album " The Tortured Poets Department " has proved to be one of her most polarizing releases to date.

The standard edition is a 16-song voyage through Swift's inner turmoil; major themes include imprisonment, delusion, and, of course, heartbreak .

Shortly after it was released last Friday, Swift unveiled "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," transforming the album into a sprawling two-hour epic (though most reviewers only focused on the original tracklist).

All 31 songs were written or cowritten by Swift and coproduced with Jack Antonoff or Aaron Dessner (or both), her go-to collaborators since 2020. Others include two high-profile features from Post Malone ("Fortnight") and Florence + The Machine ("Florida!!!").

Reviews for "The Tortured Poets Department" have been rolling in for days. Here's what critics have said so far.

Swift's humor and self-awareness serve to elevate her lyricism.

"The biting 'Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?' is a spiritual follow-up to the satirical self-analysis of 'Blank Space,' while 'But Daddy I Love Him' has Taylor trolling her audience by announcing she's pregnant, no, she's not, but you should see your faces. Business Insider's senior music reporter rates the full double album an 8.9/10.

In my first-listen review, I hailed "The Tortured Poets Department" as the "messiest, horniest, and funniest album" in Swift's catalog .

Standout tracks like "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" and "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" excavate fury and betrayal in a singularly Swiftian way, while sensual country-rock songs "Fresh Out the Slammer" and "Guilty as Sin?" paint Swift and her lover as partners-in-crime, driven to delinquency by the sheer force of their lust. As she foreshadows in the opening track , their fantasy falls to pieces in spectacular fashion.

By the time the standard tracklist ends with " Clara Bow ," Swift is still aggrieved, yet calmer and clear-eyed.

It's the perfect bridge to "The Anthology," a collection of grounded, reflective stories that play like the comedown after a manic episode. The album's true closer, "The Manuscript," offers an apt summary of the entire torrid affair: "Now and then I reread the manuscript / But the story isn't mine anymore."

Please note: In my first-listen review, "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" was rated as "Background music," while "The Alchemy" was rated as "Worth listening to." After a week's worth of spins, these songs have been swapped.
