We got there early enough to take in the two opening bands, both from here in the UK. First up was Dendera, who absolutely blew me away. Fantastic musicians, well written songs and the singer was just amazing. Putting one in mind of a combo of King Diamond and James Labrie with a bit of Bruce Dickenson. He had such great range and power and I'd love to see them again and hear more. Next up was Savage Messiah. Twin guitars blazing,machine gun fire drumming and another fantastic vocalist. They reminded me of Flotsam and Jetsam back in the day and it was awesome. Then finally, Armored Saint. They came out with such power and energy, after all these years, they haven't lost a bit of what makes them such a great live band.I used to sneak out of my house to go see them back when I was a teenager in California.As usual, Joey Vera was always in motion as he jammed out his signature precision bass grooves, Phil, Gonzo and Jeff Duncan were like a powerhouse machine, all topped by John Bush's vocals. The crowd was absolutely loving it, singing along, headbanging, fists high in the air. They played a great mix of classics along with a few from the fantastic new album, Win Hands Down. And that's exactly what this show was, a win, hands down.

Amazing show by an amazing band. John Bush's vocals were spot on! All the musicians were awesome! Bummed that they only played 2 songs from March of the saint but the new stuff kicks ass. Overall a great show by a classic metal act.

The Armored Saint show was awesome. The band delivered hands down! Saint will always be #1. From the start to the finish the band performed with high energy and perfection.

ARMORED SAINT 's most recent studio album, Punching The Sky , was released in 2020. The critically lauded full-length hit worldwide record charts including #4 on Billboard's Current Hard Music Albums chart, #6 on the Top New Artists chart, #16 on the Top Independent Albums chart, and #17 on the Current Rock Albums chart upon its first week of release.

A diverse, attitude-drenched collection, the record offers everything the band's faithful have come to expect from them while pushing their signature sound forward. Exploding to life with the crunchy, rousing " Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants " and not letting up until the closing ruthless riff of " Never You Fret ," the record is possessed of an urgency and vigor which very much places it in the right now, but could only be the work of bassist Joey Vera, guitarists Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan, drummer Gonzo Sandoval, and vocalist John Bush. The record also features a few guest musicians further expanding its sonic palette, the whole thing kicking off with the sound of Uilleann Pipes, Vera finding player Patrick D'Arcy in Los Angeles and recruiting him to the cause. Guns 'N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed also contributes, Vera giving both him and D'Arcy some general directions and letting them loose, both of them delivering strong performances. The band's own Gonzo Sandoval plays an American Indian flute on " Never You Fret " - a first for ARMORED SAINT and their drummer. Also Jacob Ayala, the son of a childhood friend who is a drum major in high school, added some marching snare on one of the tracks, which really stands out. ARMORED SAINT Announces North American Tour With Queensrÿche!

Los Angeles-based veteran heavy metal band ARMORED SAINT will be touring North America in support of Queensrÿche ! The trek will kick off in the Spring of 2024. You can get all the dates and details of the tour right here after the break.

W.A.S.P. ANNOUNCES THE 40TH NEVER STOPS WORLD TOUR 2023 US DATES

Today, W.A.S.P. announced The 40th Never Stops World Tour 2023. Produced by Live Nation, the 33-city run kicks off on Saturday, August 4 in San Luis Obispo, CA, making stops across North America in Vancouver, BC, Omaha, NE, New York, NY, Memphis, TN and more before wrapping up on Saturday, September 16 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA. Special guest Armored Saint will join the band across all dates of the tour.

The 2023 North American tour comes following the band's first U.S. tour in 10 years wrapping up in 2022, ending with 18 sold-out shows. The tour was selected by Metal Edge as one of the 10 Best Hard Rock and Metal Tours of 2022 and one of the 22 Memorable Rock Tours of 2022 by Ultimate Classic Rock. BraveWords writers listed the tour as the Top Concert of 2022 and selected by the Detroit radio station WRIF as one of the Top Concerts of 2022.

W.A.S.P. is currently playing off their massive European leg of the 2022 40th Anniversary World Tour, with upcoming shows taking place in Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and more before wrapping on May 18 in Sofia, Bulgaria at Universidada Sports Hall.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with the Artist presale beginning today at 12 PM ET. Additional presales will run throughout the week with all presales ending Thursday, April 13 at 10 PM local time. The general on sale will begin Friday, April 14 at 10 AM local time at WASPnation.com .

Cannot wait for Toronto! I live in Buffalo NY but there was no date for that. Toronto is only a 2 hour drive!

World Tour? More like local tour; where are the Mexico dates man?

They tour all over the world and they have been for yearssss. They usually tour outside of the US and usually go to Mexico, Canada, and basically any European country. It might not be to late to buy tickets for Mexico if they haven't already been there.

I didn't notice a Chicagoland date! Please come back to St. Charles, IL!

John Bush And Joey Vera Of Armored Saint

Armored Saint singer John Bush and bass player Joey Vera, who are currently out on tour with Queensryche . They'll be coming through Detroit to play the Majestic Theater on April 14th. Joey said of touring with the QR guys, "It's always fun touring with friends, people you get along with." We talked about their experience on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. "Yeah, they're fun. You always see a lot of people you know." Joey said.

The guys told me about going to Anthrax's Scott Ian's 60th birthday in Las Angeles at the end of 2023. John said there were some really talented people there celebrating the milestone.

The band recently recorded a cover of "One Chain Don't Make No Prison" which they're going to release as a stand-alone single. That being said, the guys are all about making full albums. They talked about album reissues, as well as vinyl copies of all their albums.

I had to ask them about the new Armored Saint music they're working on. As far as writing on the road, Joey said they don't do it. "We just write at our own pace." He went on to say they have six or seven songs demoed. They'll be touring and then returning to the studio to finish it up by the end of the year.

Something I didn't know about Armored Saint was that their first show outside of hometown shows was at Harpos . They said they played a radio station show way back in 1984. "That was our first show ever outside of California," Joey said. John talked of that show being added last minute, as they were supposed to play Chicago first. They also played Cobo Hall on that first tour. "We just couldn't believe what was happening," Joey said of playing some of these classic venues.

Joey told the story of crashing a car with Tommy Lee of Motley Crue. We also talked about their tour with W.A.S.P. and Metallica, where they were snowed-in, in Buffalo, New York. Joey also told a funny story from early in their career about a comment he made about Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. on the radio.
