Day 01: Arrival Cochin

You are greeted on arrival at the Kochi International Airport/Railway station by The Travel Planners representative and transferred to The Villa Romantica. In the afternoon, visit Athirapilly waterfalls and Vazhachal Waterfalls. The Athirappilly Falls are situated on the Chalakudy river, which originates in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. Overnight at Hotel / Resort.

Day 02: Cochin - Munnar [140 Km /Approx. 4 Hrs]

• The Honeymoon Inclusions offering in the Houseboat is purely a simple complimentary add on from our side, which is not subject to any refund if it is unable to provide due to any last minute issue, or any dissatisfaction from the customers end.
• The standard check-in time to the Hotels/Resorts is 02.00 pm and Check-out is about 11.00 am Morning. Early check in and late checkout would be chargeable additional.

The guide in CHENNAI was speaking so fast I could not understand his English. If not he tried to show me so many things and I thank him for that The guide in Mahabalipuram was ok but he was not so knowledgeable The guide in Pondhichery was better and very pleasant Raja was the guide Thanjavur. He was not so good and his knowledge of the Museum was not accurate. Govind was our guide in Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple and at the river Cauvery. The importance of the rituals in the Cauvery river was not well explained. His presentation was very confused. Raja was our guide in Madurai. The visit of the MEENAKSHI AMMAN TEMPLE in Madurai was very important for me and the presentation was not good for my taste. confusing is my overall rating Thomas Kuttuvayalil was our guide in the Spices Plantation. He was perfect, knowledgeable and he loves nature. Jayan was our guide in the TEA TRAIL - Connemara plantation. Very good knowledge, clear presentation and a lot of humor. In the backwaters, we had a great team / Suresh the captain and Bindu the cook. They were wonderful and what a great lunch. Thank you to both of them Georges was our guide in Kochi. His knowledge was ok but his presentation was limited to simple facts. he could have done better.

From there, we made our way to the serene backwaters of Kerala, where we were able to relax and take in the stunning natural beauty of the region. Our houseboat cruise through the backwaters was a highlight of the trip, as we got to witness the daily life of the locals and see the lush greenery and wildlife up close. Chennai to Kochi - 9 days

Our guide made the tour special by stopping to show us interesting things along the way as we were a very small group. If we had been a bigger group this flexibility would not have been possible and I think then the tour would have been too many temples. However, the tour as we had it was excellent as we saw a lot of the rural areas and small villages. Note that this tour does not include a tour of Chennai or Kochi so try to stay an extra day before and after the tour to visit these places by yourself. Train ride was great, nothing to fear; hotels all comfortable but out of the city center; guide and driver excellent and the people of India are the friendliest in the world.

We had the chance to meet the locals, learn about their customs, and even try some of their traditional dishes. It was a great way to get an insight into the way of life of the people in South India. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an immersive experience in South India. The sights, sounds, and culture were all amazing and unforgettable. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this amazing tour.

By accident there was just my wife and I for our tour group and had the most wonderful nine days with our driver Pandi who was extremely competent and courteous and knowledgeable and helpful in all things. The tour took us to some fabulous places we would not have thought of going if we had planned a trip ourselves and with what were to us the chaotic roads and road rules it would have been impossible for us to do the trip on our own. How to Reach Kerala

By Air:  Kerala is the second state in India to have four international airports, namely Trivandrum International Airport, Cochin International Airport, Calicut International Airport and Kannur International Airport (which is yet to become operational).Nearest airport to Munnar is  Cochin International airport located at a distance of 107 km from Munnar . From here on, you can either hire a direct taxi or a local bus to Munnar.

By Train:   Kerala has more than 200 railway stations, connecting various major cities as well as small towns of the state. Direct trains to various destinations in Kerala can be availed from major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, among others. The Munnar nearest railway station is Ernakulam, 125 km away. Ernakulam is well connected by rail to major towns such as Kochi, Chennai, and Bengaluru. You can  take a train to Ernakulam and then travel by road to Munnar .

By Road:  Kerala is connected to most nearby states via well-maintained roads. Private taxis and buses are easily available in all major and minor parts of the state.The road route is Chennai –588km–> Bangalore–527km–>Mysore–327km–> Munnar.
