John Fogerty new music
Just this year, Fogerty released a jazzy live version of “Joy Of My Life.”
The love song, which originally appeared on Fogerty’s 1997 solo album “Blue Moon Swamp” shows that Fogerty still has his signature pipes intact.
Plus, the extended sax solos don’t hurt either.
You can hear the 6.5-minute track — that also happens to be an ode to his wife, Julie — here .
John Fogerty set list
Based on what Fogerty played live at his 2022 Las Vegas residency at Encore Theater, Creedence Clearwater Revival fans needn’t worry about whether or not he’ll play the hits you know and love.

John Fogerty has extended his Celebration Tour with a new round of summer dates. The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman will be setting out on a run of shows that will take his traveling ensemble across the United States and to European festival stages from June 2 to Sept. 11, accompanied by George Thorogood & the Destroyers and Hearty Har.
This announcement comes a year after Fogerty acquired the rights to his catalog of Creedence songs in Jan. 2023; soon after, Fogerty launched his Celebration Tour on April 27. Fogerty will be joined this summer by blues rocker and longtime friend George Thorogood and his band the Destroyers, who set out on a 50 Years of Rock Tour in 2023. In addition, Hearty Har, founded by Fogerty’s sons Shane and Tyler, will open every show with a set of their own before supporting their father’s headlining performance as the backing band.
Fogerty will kick off this year’s rendition of the Celebration Tour with a June 2 performance at CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, S.C. Next, Fogerty and his crew will weave their way north, stopping in Charleston, S.C., Raleigh, N.C., Camden, N.J. and Scranton, Pa. for a series of dates ending on June 8. The ensemble will then make a stop at Bristow, Va.’s Jiffy Lube Live on June 9 before heading to the Empire State for a three-night run that will close out on June 14 at the Bethel Wood Center for the Arts in Bethel, N.Y. After playing the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. on June 15, the bands will hike to New England for three shows, ending on June 20 at the outdoor Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Mass.
Next, the Celebration Tour will head to Europe for a weeklong festival run. Fogerty and friends will hit the Netherlands’ Bospop Festival on July 12, Belgium’s Rock Zottegem 2024 on July 13, Italy’s Lucca Summer Festival on July 16 and finally France’s Guitar en Scène on July 18. Fogerty will conclude the 2024 run of his Celebration Tour with two appearances without Thorogood, first at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. on Aug. 26, then with a summer sendoff on Sept. 11 at the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City.
Presale tickets for Fogerty’s Celebration Tour will be available on Tuesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. local time. A general sale will open on Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. local time. For additional ticketing information, visit johnfogerty.com .

Creedence Clearwater Revival were, in my opinion, one of the classic bands of the late 60s/early70s, releasing albums that could easily rank up there with the Beatles, Stones, Dylan or Zeppelin as the respective decades’ best. However, where some of those bands prided themselves in show off guitar skills and virtuosity, Creedence prided themselves in simple, back to basics rock and roll. This is perhaps why Creedence Clearwater Revisited - with the only original Credence members being bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford, are still able to replicate Creedence’s original hits with a whole new band, while still making it sound fresh and exciting. The lack of the original band’s lead vocalist and primary songwriter John Fogerty is barely even noticed, with new vocalist John Tristao, amply filling his boots.
Live, their stage set up reflects the music, with minimal staging and lighting allowing the audience to focus on the powerful blues/roots rock being pumped out by the tight and well-rehearsed band, knocking out classic track after classic track, such as “Proud Mary” and “Bad Moon Rising”, with the audience singing every word straight back to them. If you are a fan of Creedence, then, despite the lack of some original members, Creedence Clearwater Revisited will not disappoint.

How do you describe incredible? The 3 founding originals are good as ever, they haven't lost a step and don't look nor act like they'll be slowing down anytime soon. Ted McGuiness (I believe that's his name), the lead singer, is not only mesmerizing but a fantastic singer. He puts his all into his singing and it shows. I've seen him tired enough to drop but he sang 3 encores with commitment. Kurt Griffey (?) Is an excellent guitarist. The only drawback is this: the name of the band is CCR, not CCR: featuring Kurt Griffey (still not sure about the name). All in all they kick ass. Here's hoping they keep Ted for the long haul.
Yes I am a ovarian cancer stage 3 thriver and they are a large part of why n when I b egan to "look forward" The first time I saw them was Thunder Valley I bought tickets for myself and my two wonderful adult children for MY BIRTHDAY JUNE OF 2012 my son was unable to come HE WAS DEPLOYED TO IRAQ Since ive seen them at all the local fairs n each show is Pure and Simple FUN WERE having fun and best of all they ARE HAVING FUN❤

The show was November 8, 2019 Creedence CLearwater Revisited show was excellent. The band performed very well. I am glad that we had the opportunity to see them again before they retire. The Route 66 Casino theater is a comfortable venue.
I saw them in LA, Ca...took my then 5yr old grandson, he fell in love with them. Had to buy each band members instrument for him. He was a one man CCR band....I kid you not!

Creedence Clearwater Revisited Talk Farewell Tour and Ignoring Their Critics
By David Browne
David Browne
In the past few years, a growing number of classic-rock acts have announced farewell tours. The latest twist arrived last week, when Creedence Clearwater Revisited rolled out plans for their final live run, set to wrap up later this year. “We’re calling it ‘The Final Revival,’” says drummer Doug Clifford, who will turn 74 in two weeks. “We’ve got grandchildren and they’re growing like crazy before your eyes. It’s time to change things a bit and make the family the priority.”
Adds bassist Stu Cook, 73, “Frankly, the road is a drag. We love the band, but we’ve had enough of hanging around a hotel room waiting to do our thing. There are far more years behind us than left in front of us.”
The twist, of course, is that Revisited isn’t the original Creedence Clearwater Revival , the hard-driving band powered by the voice, songs and guitar of John Fogerty . Featuring only Cook and Clifford — but not Fogerty nor Fogerty’s late brother, rhythm guitarist Tom — Revisited remains what Cook calls, with a knowing chuckle, “somewhere between a cover band, a tribute band and the real deal.”
These days, it’s become the new normal for heritage bands to tour with replacement (and usually younger) frontmen. Revisited weren’t the first such reconfiguration, but until now, they’ve been one of the most enduring. Launched in 1995, Revisited have now lasted more than five times longer than the original Creedence, which ran from 1968 to 1972. “When we started, we had no idea what was going to happen,” says Clifford. “Or if we were going to be accepted by the fans. We had a five-year plan and nothing else. There was some struggling in there, but we were immediately accepted. You win ’em over one show at a time.”
The thought of reviving the band as Creedence Clearwater Revisited probably began in 1993, when Creedence were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . Cook and Clifford assumed they would be joining Fogerty onstage to reprise a few of their songs, but Cook says they had “no idea” they wouldn’t be playing with him until that night. Instead, Fogerty’s backup band included Bruce Springsteen and Robbie Robertson.
Editor’s picks
The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.
“They BS’d us for months that we were going to play or jam,” says Cook. “That mollified us until Doug went to see what drum set he was playing and a crew guy said, ‘Don’t you know you’re not playing?’ We called John and had a confrontation about the whole thing. That was the sneak-attack part part of it, a little bit like Pearl Harbor.” The two men walked out of the hall as soon as Fogerty and his guests began performing. For his part, Fogerty has said he had issues with his former bandmates by then, including the claim they “sold their voting rights in Creedence” to his nemesis, the late Fantasy Records head Saul Zaentz. “That really betrayed me,” he recently told an interviewer. Cook and Clifford says they “only proxied their voting rights for compilation albums, which did not give the record label a majority, leaving a majority to the balance of CCR to vote and decide.”
Not long after, Cook ended up visiting Clifford at the latter’s home in Tahoe, California, where the two jammed together for the first time in years. Cook insists it was that bond, more than revenge for the Hall of Fame induction, that spurred a Creedence resurrection. “You can only go so far with bass and drums, so we thought, ‘Why don’t we do something — and what would be better than what we already do?’” he says. “It was just an idea that we had to get the hell out of the house. It wasn’t, ‘We’re gonna show him.’ But I understand why people might assume we adopted a bit of that attitude.”
Adds Clifford, “The humiliation done that night was so wrong, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the seeds for this project were planted that night. But also, nobody was playing those songs, including John, when we started this project. People would say, ‘I never got the chance to see you guys.’”
For the first Revisited — the revamped name was suggested by a concert promoter friend of theirs — the band recruited former Cars guitarist Elliot Easton and a new lead singer also named John (Tristao). “John Fogerty is one of the most recognizable rock & roll voices,” says Cook, “and we told the guys when we were auditioning, ‘Don’t try to copy Fogerty. Just sing the songs as they should be sung.’ It’s a delicate balance.”
At a time when fans and promoters alike were wary of any rock reunions without all the principals, Revisited weren’t always greeted warmly. Months went by without work, and only bit by bit did the jobs (including tours of Asia and Europe) start coming. “We took a lot of hits,” says Cook. “People didn’t think we could do this or should do this. Creedence was an underdog, and Revisited was a double underdog. But we knew we could do it. Having the rhythm section makes us feel and sound quite a bit more like the original recordings than anybody else.”
Billy Joel Is Ending One of the Longest Droughts in Music. Who’s Next?
Five decades later, john fogerty finally gains ownership of ccr catalog.
“We always introduce everyone in the band,” adds Clifford. “The idea was never to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes that it was John onstage. We took strides to make sure that was common knowledge.”
The first of many legal hassles arose soon after, when Fogerty challenged the use of the Revisited name in court in 1996. Fogerty — who himself began playing Creedence songs again onstage in 1997 after not doing so since their breakup — won an injunction, forcing Cook, Clifford and their bandmates to call themselves Cosmo’s Factory, after a Creedence album title. But a court of appeals overturned the decision and allowed Cook and Clifford to use the revamped Creedence name; in exchange for a cut of their touring and merchandising income, Fogerty withdrew his complaint. Cook and Clifford copyrighted the Revisited name and have used it ever since.
Revisited rolled along, even releasing a live album, Recollection , with their versions of the old Creedence songs. (The current lineup includes lead singer Dan McGuinness, lead guitarist Kurt Griffey and multi-instrumentalist Steve Gunner.) The group hit another legal snag in 2014, when Cook, Clifford and Tom Fogerty’s widow sued Fogerty for trademark infringement. By then, Fogerty was doing concerts performing Creedence albums, and advertising them as such, which irked his ex-bandmates. “He could always play the material — anybody can,” says Cook. “But we felt he was appropriating the brand. The billing he was using was getting cloudy.”
Fogerty in turn sued them for unpaid royalties dating back to 2011, which Cook admits was done intentionally. “We stopped paying him,” Cook admits. “We thought, ‘Why should we pay you when you’re taking these kind of un-allowed liberties?’ But we kept the money we owed him, so it wasn’t like it was missing. We were trying to get his attention. We’ve done it to remind him that we were part of it too. Even though he was able to exclude us from the Hall of Fame, he wasn’t able to erase our tracks from the records.”
Matters between Cook and Clifford on one side and Fogerty on the other remain frosty. Cook says he hasn’t spoken with Fogerty in years, and the camps still only communicate through lawyers. Yet he men have reached a certain détente. They’re now all part of Creedence Clearwater Revival LLC, jointly approving projects like the inclusion of the band’s complete Woodstock performance in a box set of the 1969 festival, or an upcoming, first-ever line of Creedence merch.
“It’s not what most people would call a reunion, but it’s still a milestone,” Cook says. “It’s a landmark in our relationship, given how it’s not been a thing of beauty the last 45 years. There’s still a lot of stuff to iron out, but things are functioning more like they should. There’s more trust. From my perspective, it bodes well that we can at least have all the water and mud and shit under the bridge. The media likes to stir things up. We had an ongoing war that would flare up and be gone. But we’re stuck with each other forever, whether we like it or not.”
With or without Fogerty’s blessings, Revisited will replay the vintage classics, from “Proud Mary” to “Fortunate Son,” at state fairs, casinos and other venues through the fall. “We feel we’ve been completely vindicated,” says Cook. “There’s always people who leave nasty posts on our Facebook page. But we don’t pay attention to that. There are still some purists out there, but they don’t know anything about the original band. They don’t have any credence, and that’s with three e e ‘s, not four.”

Legendary singer-songwriter and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Fogerty has announced two UK dates for his 2023 tour, The Celebration Tour, where he will once again be joined by his sons Shane and Tyler and their band, Hearty Har .
Fogerty is set to perform at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK on May 25 , followed by The O2 in London, UK on May 29 . Presales for The O2 begin on Thursday, March 9 at 10:00 am GMT , with Live Nation and venue pre-sales for both dates on Friday, March 10 at 10:00 am GMT . Public on-sale is set for both dates starting Saturday, March 11 at 10:00 am GMT . To purchase tickets, please visit www.johnfogerty.com . Fogerty has lots to celebrate in 2023. The composer of iconic songs that have inspired generations – “Proud Mary,” “Down on the Corner,” “Fortunate Son,” and “Bad Moon Rising,” among many others – acquired a majority interest of the worldwide publishing rights to his historic song catalog from Concord. The compositions have been both a decades-long dream and a personal mission for John.
For years, the copyrights to Fogerty’s classic songs were the property of Saul Zaentz, the owner of Fantasy Records, who sold the label and its publishing portfolio to the former Concord Music Group in 1995. Fogerty, who extricated himself from Fantasy in 1974, re-signed with the label upon its purchase by Concord. Even so, he was not able to gain ownership of his songs – until now. “As of this January, I own my own songs again. This is something I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years, I am finally reunited with my songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year, that is something I have never been able to do.
I am looking forward to touring and celebrating this year! I want to thank Concord for helping to make all of this happen. And, I am excited for new ideas and a renewed interest in my music … like a revival,” said Fogerty.
In additional exciting news, Fogerty has joined Spotify’s “ Billions Club ” with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s enduring recording of his song, “ Have You Ever Seen the Rain ,” commemorating an outstanding achievement of over 1 billion streams on the platform .
The exclusive club, which boasts such members as Queen (“Another One Bites the Dust”), and Nirvana (“Smells Like Teen Spirit”) currently includes under 400 songs.
Additionally, when it comes to overall monthly listeners of bands founded in the ’60s , CCR currently ranks in Spotify’s Top 3 , landing just behind The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac, and ahead of acts like The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. Nearly 55 years after their debut, it is a remarkable testament to their timeless appeal. Written by John Fogerty and released in January 1971, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” was released with “Hey Tonight” as a double-sided hit from the band’s sixth studio album, Pendulum. The record found the California band at the height of their global popularity, following a string of hit singles, an appearance at Woodstock, and their first European tour.
That hard work was evidenced in the single’s performance – as it hit No.1 in Canada, Malaysia, and South Africa, and landed in the Top 10 in more than a dozen countries around the world, including Australia, Singapore, Brazil, and the US , where it would eventually be certified 3X Platinum by the RIAA . In the years since its release, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” has remained a classic rock staple. “I am honored and humbled that my song has been loved by so many for all these years. I’m just so grateful,” said Fogerty. “Ironically, I wrote this song about my band breaking up, but today, the song has found new meaning for me. I love to dedicate it to my family because they are the rainbow that comes from rain falling on a sunny day.”
John Fogerty will be headlining Midnight Sun Weekender, on Saturday 27th May 2023 – Tickets for the event link is below. midnightsunweekenderstornoway.com

The County Affair on tour with Creedence
March 29, 2024 by
The County Affair, a top Americana band with roots firmly in Ireland, are supporting Clearwater Creedence Revival on a short British tour. Next week they head for Coventry, and the HMV theatre, and April 6 sees them in London for a show at )2 Indigo.
Founders Kevin Brennan and Tony Regan are lifelong friends and musical collaborators.
Back in the late 1970s the guys were teenagers gigging in Irish showbands; then in their early twenties toured the States coast to coast as a folkier new-country duo. Turning down offers to go professional, they both chose corporate careers which, along with raising families, meant that music took a back seat for more than thirty years.
Around 2017, Kevin took seriously to songwriting and reunited with Tony to form The County Affair and create their own music.
A chance encounter led to an approach from producer Tom Nichols, inviting them to record their first album with him at Abbey Road Studios.
Storming the industry with their stunning debut album Off The Grid, 2021 saw the band sell out their headline London Show and go on a month long tour supporting Ward Thomas.
2022 took them out on the road again, with festival appearances at C2C, Black Deer Festival and the British Country Music Festival. Meanwhile, work started in earnest on writing and recording new material.
Early 2023 saw the well-received release of their second album, Two Days’ Drive, soon followed by their first trip to Nashville, where Kevin dived into an intense few days of songwriting with local music talent, topped off with a TV interview and live show.
2024 takes them to their biggest stages yet, supporting Clearwater Creedence Revival on six UK dates of their global tour. No doubt some of those Nashville-written songs will be getting onto the setlist and maybe even onto a new album one day.

I Creedence Clearwater Revived sono la band che omaggia lo storico gruppo californiano degli anni '70.
