Dedicated Support for Member Cruise Bookings

Member Services will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time on April 22 to book reservations for the 2024 Member Cruise and the 2024 Member-exclusive voyage to Lighthouse Point  only —as well as to assist with any Resort arrivals occurring within 5 days of the April 22 date. Due to the popularity of these Member-exclusive cruises, you may experience longer-than-usual wait times.

Member Services will reopen with normal operations at 9:00 AM Eastern Time on Sunday, April 23 to support all Membership requests.

An Improved Booking Process

As we continue to improve and respond to feedback from our Members, we have adjusted our Member Cruise Booking Day process to improve our ability to quickly secure your space during your initial inbound phone call.

After your initial inbound call, a Member Services Cast Member will contact you within 72 hours of Member Cruise Booking Day to finalize the payment of Points and/or cash and to fully secure the booking.

To make your booking phone call go smoothly, please have information on hand about yourself and each person sailing with your party, including:

• Member ID Number
• First, second and third stateroom category choices, as popular options sell out quickly for this event
• Special dietary needs
• Special medical needs
• Castaway Club Number (provided to repeat cruisers by Disney Cruise Line)

For each person sailing on the Member Cruise, please have the following information ready:

• Legal name and middle initial, spelled as it appears in print on appropriate citizenship documentation
• Physical home address (no P.O. boxes)
• Home telephone number
• Date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
• Citizenship/nationality

• Member Services will reach out to collect payment before May 13, 2023.
• Booking requests will not be accepted by fax, email, live chat or Member Online Booking—or in person at the Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge at EPCOT or the Disney Vacation Club Star View Station – a Member Lounge at Disneyland Park. Please call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 or (407) 566-3800 † to book your spot.
• Additional fees may apply for recreational activities and Port Adventures.
• Due to the unique nature of this special event, Disney Vacation Club has waived the policy of requiring at least one passenger to sail using Reservation Points for this Member Cruise voyage. If Members would like to pay by using both cash and Reservation Points, individual passengers must be paid for by using all cash or all Reservation Points.
• Disney Vacation Club will waive the initial transaction fee associated with booking your Disney Cruise Line reservation for this Member Cruise voyage.
• Disney Vacation Club will accept the following methods of payment for Members not using Reservation Points to book the cruise: Disney Gift Card, JCB, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. If paying by credit card, please have the credit card number, expiration date and the name that appears on the card available. Full payment is required at the time of call-back.
• For the safety of our Guests, women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy as of the embarkation date or who will enter their 24th week of pregnancy during the cruise will be refused passage due to safety concerns. Neither a physician's medical statement nor a waiver of liability will be able to override the policy. Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club cannot be held responsible or liable for any complications relating to pregnancy at any stage.
• Disney Cruise Line policy prohibits infants less than 6 months of age on the date of embarkation to travel.
• Effective March 21, 2011, Members who do not purchase their Ownership Interests directly from Disney will not be able to use those Vacation Points to make reservations for the Member Cruise. If a Member wishes to pay entirely in cash, they must still own at least one Contract with Ownership Interests purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.  Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.
• Members may book a maximum of 4 staterooms per Membership.

Membership Extras—such as exchange options in the Disney Collection and options offered through hotel exchange, certain discounts, offers and special events—are incidental benefits. These incidental benefits are subject to change or termination without notice, may require the payment of a fee and cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. Membership Extras are also subject to availability and blockout dates may apply, including high periods of demand such as Christmas and New Year's Day. To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID.  Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.  Exchange options in the Disney Collection and options offered through hotel exchange are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. after March 21, 2011 and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. will not have access to Membership Extras.

2 EXCLUSIVE Disney Vacation Club Member Cruises Announced for 2024

We’ve got some exciting cruise news for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members!

Disney Cruise Line has recently announced their sailings for 2024 and when reservations will begin. You can also begin sailing to their new private island in 2024 as well! But if you’re a DVC member, you’ve got a chance to get a cruise all to yourself.

By that, we mean that Disney has announced that there will be sailings specifically for DVC members in 2024 .

The first cruise is a Member Cruise in Europe , where you’ll depart from Barcelona on a 7-night cruise to the Mediterranean where you’ll visit cities in Italy and France.

The other cruise in June is a Member Exclusive Voyage to Lighthouse Point , Disney’s new private island! You’ll set sail on the Disney Magic on a 5-night cruise to the Bahamas. However, there is a disclaimer that this is a

However, this is different from a Member Cruise as it’s part of the Disney Collection exchange. This means that regular cruise programming will not be altered and in-room gifts (usually provided on other members’ cruises) will not be included.

DVC Releases Points Chart for 2024 Member Sailings

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) recently announced two 2024 cruise opportunities for DVC members:

• A DVC Member cruise Mediterranean cruise on the Disney Dream; and
• A DVC Member Exclusive sailing on the Disney Magic with two stops at Lighthouse Point (DCL’s newest island destination).

There are some key differences between these two cruises. The Mediterranean cruise will be a true “member cruise” including all the member extras like special gifts and onboard experiences. The Lighthouse Point sailing will be a “member exclusive” sailing  not  a member cruise; much like the member exclusive sailing on the Disney Wish that immediately followed her Maiden Voyage. Those booking the Lighthouse Point cruise should not expect special gifts or other onboard experiences similar to those on a true member cruise.

The requirements for booking these two cruises are also a bit different. Generally, both cruises are considered “collection exchange” opportunities. As such, DVC can require at least one person be booked on points. For the Mediterranean member cruise, DVC has waived that requirement; members may pay for their sailing entirely on cash. For the Lighthouse Point sailing, DVC has  not  waived that requirement, so at least one person in each stateroom must be booked on points. Generally, we book our third passenger (our 9 year-old) son on points as the number of points required to book the third passenger is much less than the first two guests in the stateroom, is the same across all room categories, and is also less for children under age 12. Using points to book a cruise is generally not a great value for points, so do research before using points to book your entire cruise; you can generally get a better deal by renting your points and using the cash from the rental to book a cruise.

Regardless of how you book or pay, you must be a qualifying member to book either of these sailings. Per the DVC terms and conditions:

Effective March 21, 2011, Members who do not purchase their Ownership Interests directly from Disney will not be able to use those Vacation Points to make reservations for the Member-Exclusive Voyage.  Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.

Points Charts Released for 2024 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruises

The Mediterranean member cruise departs May 18. The very next week there's a standard 7 night Mediterranean cruise with the same itinerary departing May 25. For a Category 5C (just to pick one at random), the DVC cruise price is $3132 per person or $6264 double. Right now, the cash cruise following week is $5655 for same cabin, same itinerary. So the member cruise upcharge is $609 or about 11% on this particular scenario. Also the same cabin on the member cruise would require 736 DVC points vs the $6264 cash rate. That's only $8.51 in value per point. For some resorts, that doesn't even cover the cost of annual dues that will be paid on those points. Yikes.

For us, the difference in cat 7a is $578 (2 guests). I was expecting it to be about $500 more for the member cruise so this is just a little higher. Do y'all think this member cruise is significantly more expensive than previous ones?  

I did a quick cash price comparison of the 2024 DCL Member Cruise and the DCL cruise immediately afterward shows the member cruise has slightly more than a 10% premium in the cheapest inside, veranda, and concierge categories. The numbers are similar to what @TimK posted: Member cruise is about 10.1% to 10.4% uncharge. Is that worth the extra amenities you get on the cruise? Question: does the member cruise prices include shipboard gratuities? My memory isn't as good as it use to be but I think a member cruise about 10 years ago included shipboard gratuities.

• No rebooking discounts can be applied
• There are no "guaranteed rate" fares for a member cruise, which are often commonplace for similar slow periods like Europe in early-May
• Need to pay the entire cruise fare in advance (not immediately Saturday but within a few days / weeks.)
• Unless you're really, really lucky getting thru to a rep, you may be forced to compromise on cabin category. That could include spending hundreds more on a more expensive category than you had intended.

The cruises were popular enough that DVC eliminated the gratuities and inched the price upward while still selling out. Click to expand...

DVC Announces 2024 Member Cruise to Europe

Disney Vacation Club Members will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of Europe and tour the cities of Naples and Rome on the 2024 DVC Member Cruise, May 18th – 25th, 2024!

2024 Member Cruise in Europe

Embark on a 7-night Mediterranean voyage aboard the Disney Dream from Barcelona that will take you to stunning cities in Italy and France. While on the cruise, you’ll have access to unique gifts in your room, entertainment specially designed for Members, and opportunities to meet beloved Disney characters. Join other Members for an unparalleled event! This will be the first time that the ultimate Member Cruise sails in Europe, allowing you to marvel at the captivating Amalfi Coast and visit historic cities such as Naples and Rome. You’ll also have two days to enjoy the onboard amenities, including signature Disney entertainment, themed dining options, refreshing swimming pools, live shows, and more.

• Saturday, May 18, 2024  – Depart from Barcelona, Spain
• Sunday, May 19, 2024  – Enjoy a day at sea filled with unique experiences and special shows created with Members in mind
• Monday, May 20, 2024  – Arrive in Naples (Pompeii), Italy
• Tuesday, May 21, 2024  – Arrive in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
• Wednesday, May 22, 2024  – Arrive in Livorno (Florence, Pisa), Italy
• Thursday, May 23, 2024  – Arrive in Villefranche (Monte Carlo, Nice), France
• Friday, May 24, 2024  – Take advantage of another relaxing, fun-filled day at sea
• Saturday, May 25, 2024  – Return to Barcelona, Spain

This sailing is part of the Summer 2024 Disney Cruise Line itineraries that were recently announced. Booking information is not yet available with more details expected soon.

Please note, DVC Member Cruises are considered a Disney Vacation Club –  Membership Extra  and can only be booked by direct members with a valid blue membership card.

I was looking and the 2023 one was announced end of April so around then would be my guess. I hope I am able to secure a cabin.

I think DVC page.. but usually around here the info gets sooner

I hope the DVC Member Cruise goes to the new Private Island.  

Same here… fingers crossed!  

I'd expect an announcement fairly soon unless the member's cruise is going to be later in 2024, because these Summer 2024 cruises will be available to book in a few days.

There was just an announcement via email!! How do these cruises usually work - do all guests need to be booked on points? Both itineraries sound good!
