Launch TLJH in cheat mode [ | ]

Add -tljh_carebear_me to the command.

GOG version [ | ]

In the GOG Galaxy client right-click The Long Journey Home and go to Settings>Configure Game>Custom settings. Check "Add command line arguments" and add -tljh_carebear_me

Steam version [ | ]

Right-click the game in the library of the Steam client application and go to Properties>General. Click on "Set launch options...", type -tljh_carebear_me and confirm.

From now on, cheats will be activated in the game.

Keyboard keys [ | ]

Cheat menu [ | ].

The cheat menu can be opened by pressing Alt+X at all times during the journey. It is split in up to 13 sub-categories. A few categories are hidden in the galaxy view. While some cheats are classical cheats, others change the basic mechanics of the game and should be handled with great care.

Cheats [ | ]

Artifacts [ | ].

All items are shown and can be searched and added to the ship inventory with just one click. The list includes items, that cannot be acquired during normal gameplay, and all conversation topics, the player can learn about in conversations with aliens .

Quests [ | ]

All quests , that are possibly available in the seed are displayed. They are grouped in active quests, welcome quests and by the alien races initiating the quest. Active quests can be aborted by clicking on them. Inactive quests can be started by clicking on them, or typing their names into the console and pressing start. After a quick loading screen the quest will be active.

Elements [ | ]

All resources are shown. When clicking on an icon, one resource container is added to the ship's cargo.

Devices [ | ]

All modules are displayed and grouped in lander, ship, weapon, and shield devices. By clicking on a device it is added to the ship/lander. When clicking again, the module is damaged and with one more click it is destroyed again. The game will use the weapon/shield, that was installed first during fights, if multiple weapons/shields are present.

Traffic [ | ]

The Traffic menu shows the traffic level of each star system as defined by the seed . The value is typically between 0 and 5. The traffic value is shown per alien race and indicates the probability of aliens jumping into the star system. It can be changed individually. Additionally, every space ship in the game can be spawned by clicking on its name.

Locations [ | ]

Locations displays a list of all biotopes , ruins , wrecks , and other special locations of the current sector. Clicking on "Show ALL Quest Infos" displays all quest targets of the active quests on the galaxy map. It includes the spawn locations of the %$^£ and the positions of all wanted criminals . There is no undo!

Aliens [ | ]

The standings of all aliens are displayed in numeric values and can be changed. Next to it the big diplomacy matrix shows the relationship of all alien races among each other.

Jumprange [ | ]

The jump range can be set to unlimited. The quick jump home to Sol is now possible (but also destroys the idea of the whole game, if we're honest.) While the jump range is set to unlimited, all gates and star ports are indicated on the galaxy map.

God Mode [ | ]

When active, all crew members are invincible, as well as the lander and the ship. No fuel is consumed. This is the only safe way of traveling through a black hole.

Intercept [ | ]

The ability of other ships to intercept the player can be turned off.

Reset Achievements [ | ]

Removes all achievements. Don't use this, if you are proud of what you have achieved so far!

No one, wisely, has turned “A Long Day’s Journey Into Night” into an opera — not least because, arguably, Eugene O’Neill’s most famous play already is one. It features extended solo arias mixing memory and pain, and, excluding the maid’s comedy high notes, the near-negligible plot operates as a vocal quartet. The job of the conductor — or, rather, the director — is to weave and build the sound to maximum dramatic effect. Led by Brian Cox (“ Succession ”) and Patricia Clarkson , Jeremy Herrin’s West End cast of soloists is definitely strong. Overall, however, his production doesn’t fully sustain the tricky balancing act.

Given the terrifying and delicious ease he deployed as vicious Logan Roy in “Succession,” Cox makes complete casting sense as tyrannical, self-serving James. At 77, he is a trifle old for the role, which latterly strains credulity when it comes to the physical relationship between him and his sons. But as his bravura final scene demonstrates, he is a commanding presence.

Descending, through drink and exhaustion, to the state that is the closest he ever gets to insight about his controlling, miserly failure with his family, Cox is in fine form in this scene. Furious at the truth-telling of his combative younger son Edmund (Laurie Kynaston) he allows us to see a man just about able — for brief moments only — to glimpse the truth of his own responsibility in the terrible family psychodrama.

But the slow-burn arc of the role isn’t quite within his grasp. His opening scene is pitched too high: The family is self-consciously acting happy now that matriarch Mary (Patricia Clarkson) is home and sober, but Cox’s overly-signaled brightness militates against audience engagement.

The consumption killing Kynaston’s nicely considered Edmund is, mercifully, underplayed. He gently indicates sadness without overstating it and in the final showdown with his father, his self-possession works in balance to his father’s chaos. But elsewhere, like most of the characters in this production except Louisa Harland’s beautifully judged, knowing maid, he seems too isolated, as if playing the end of the play from the beginning.

Neurasthenic, fluttering and fragile, Clarkson’s Mary positively glides through the day of the play with a sweetness that beautifully belies her pain within. Her level of denial is so absolute that she is able to maintain dignity throughout, no matter how upsettingly empty her illusions are.

Herrin knows about secrets and lies in dramas of addiction, having directed Duncan MacMillan’s scorching, award-winning “People, Places, Things.” Here, his pacing of Clarkson’s performance is the strongest line through this production. His handling of her final moments, ultimately placing her calmly sitting on the edge of the stage, is masterly.

Elsewhere, not all of his choices are helpful to so drawn-out a text. Lizzie Clachan’s self-consciously bald, wooden set over-emphasizes the lack of money that James gives to the running of a household. More of a statement than a helpful design, it leaves the creation of atmosphere to the actors and the lighting. Even a lighting designer as skilled as Jack Knowles struggles with the demand.

In a play that goes to some length to point out the intrusive sound of fog horns, it seems antithetical to have so noticeable an additional soundscape that loudly alerts the audience to approaching doom, or to the ethereal quality of Mary’s blissed-out-on-morphine state. This soundscape fires up some moments but flattens out the following scenes. The irony of this is that in so notoriously wordy a play, it’s absence and, crucially, silence which have proved so lethal in their lives.

The cumulative power of a still horribly recognizable journey through desperate, misplaced hope has ensured the longevity of O’Neill’s drama. Despite the unevenness of this production, Clarkson’s tender glow keeps it alive.

This Stellar Blade demo walkthrough will guide you through the first available hour of the game which covers both boss fights. Combat Tips for Stellar Blade Demo

This Bayonetta and Nier Automata game hybrid has a few gameplay mechanics that are a bit tricky to get used to right away. First and foremost, the action inputs do not react as fast as its counterpart inspirations. When attempting your main combos such as Onslaught or Incursion , don't try to rapidly press the buttons to execute the combo chain. Instead, you will find more success by executing the inputs in a steadier and more controlled timing. However, this is not as slow as, perhaps, a Dark Souls game, so don't take more than a second to follow up with the next input, or else, the combo won't be executed.

With that being said, the best combat approach is to analyze enemy patterns and adjust your timing.

In regards to the enemies' attack cues, there are four colored coded cues you must watch out for:

The purple attack cue is only relevant during the extra boss challenge after completing the main demo section.

The red cue indicates the enemy is about to go on a frenzy. Therefore, it is best to parry/block these fast attacks.

The yellow cue indicates the following enemy attack can't be guarded nor parried, therefore it is best to start timing your perfect dodge, or move away as far as you can before it hits you with it.

The blue cue indicates you will need to use the skill Blink, as soon as your blade starts glowing blue. You need to tilt forward and press circle at the same time when the latter starts to show. The enemy glowing blue is almost as a warning to be prepared for the next cue (which is your blade) to show up. If you have successfully executed this, you will be standing behind the enemy, giving you an opportunity to attack it off-guard.

The purple cue indicates the enemy is about to execute a fatal attack. As soon as it shows up, tilt back and press circle at the same time to dodge the attack.

Demo Walkthrough

Right below it, you can also play around with Eve's ponytail length! This change will reflect to both in-game cutscenes and during regular gameplay.

Star Descent

As soon as you crash land on Earth, Eve will be saved by Tachy. Start following her throughout this portion of the game that acts as a tutorial. Shortly after starting, you will confront a few Thornheads. Clear them out to continue.

Continue to follow Tachy after clearing out the Thornheads and watch a small cutscene that will then force you to jump over the fallen tower.

You will then be introduced to a new enemy type and new battle mechanics. These enemies are known as the Beholders and they mostly attack with their blade-like right arm. Take the chance to get comfortable with the parrying/blocking mechanics. This section will also introduce you to the Beta Skills , which are special attacks you can execute by holding L1 and an action button and recharges every time you successfully parry or block.

You will eventually come across a big boss fight with an enemy known as the Brute . This is the perfect time to practice your parrying skills as this enemy mostly uses slow attacks against you. Don't worry if you can't defeat him, in fact it is not necessary.

If you lose the fight, there is a slight follow-up cutscene variation, where Tachy will come to the rescue and the two of you will eventually tag team to deliver a flashy execution. After this boss fight, the Star Descent portion will be done, and enjoy some cutscenes.

Abaddon Boss Fight

Once you are ready, head upstairs to confront Abaddon . Make sure to have at least Blink as one of your skills, which you will need to it dodge its blue highlighted attacks.

Watch out for some of his lightning, which is considered a yellow cue attack. The spot where the lightning will land, is marked briefly before it strikes, so be vigilant of the floor during this time.

Blink will be useful in certain parts to be able to attack him from behind.

Don't forget to use your Beta skills as soon as they are charged. They can be helpful to get out of a pinch as you can sometimes use them to interrupt its attacks and push him back.

Don't forget to press that L1 button after you finish him off!

Stalker Extra Boss Challenge

After you have completed the main demo, an extra boss challenge will be available for you to take on. This one is a bit tougher than the last enemy encounter, however, you will have even more skills, weapons and gear to experiment with this time around.

The Stalker will be much more aggressive, and you will need to be of much quicker feet, he has two main yellow attacks. In one, he will charge at you straight on. This one will test your perfect dodging. However, the distance he takes to wind up his bulldozing attack is significant enough for you to move out of the way before it is too late. The other yellow attack will have him throw debris at you.

When the blue light flashes, wait till it flashes on your sword to execute the Blink dodge.

For this one, you will want to tilt back and press circle at the same time when you see the purple light.

Use your Beta skills as soon as they are charged, fortunately, this time around the skills recharge much faster and there are more skills to choose from and chain together! You also have a plethora of grenades if you want to stun him for a brief moment.

This time around you will also have a gun! Press and hold the L2 button to take it out and press the R2 button to continuously shoot at him. It doesn't do much damage, but it does help to save you in a pinch.

Once you almost finish, there will be quick command prompts to deal heavy damage to him and finish him off.

And that is it! The creature will drop some items, but you can't pick them up before the demo ends.
