Long Itinerary: Sikkim Darjeeling Travel packages

Day 01: drive from new jalpaiguri/bagdogra airport to darjeeling (2134 m) (88 km / 3 hours).

Day Schedule: Depending on your arrival destination, you will received by our representatives either at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or at Bagdogra Airport. Following your pick-up, take a drive to the magnificent hill station of Darjeeling and check in into a hotel; the rest of the day can be spent relaxing at the hotel or you can simply take a leisurely walk around and get an insight of Darjeeling; overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 02: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Day Schedule: The second day will bring you the much awaited thrill and excitement! On this day, wake up quite early in the morning; at around 03.00-04.00a.m., and take a drive to the stunning Tiger Hill (2,590 m) in Darjeeling. Arriving at the hilltop, welcome the first golden rays of the sun over the enchanting Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. Enjoy the miraculous beauty of the atmosphere as the sunrays engulf the entire vicinity with the magical aura and start descending down the hill!

On your way back to the hotel, visit the holy Ghoom Monastery and the exhilarating Batista Loop, where you can have a glance of the Darjeeling War Memorial and the world-renowned Darjeeling Toy Train.

Getting back to the hotel, enjoy your breakfast and join for an amazing sightseeing tour of this magnificent hill station town. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (remains closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Chitrey Tea Garden (outer views), Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda. As evening starts approaching, make it to the overwhelming Chowrasta and Mall Road to enjoy Darjeeling’s local life at its best and also to indulge in some local shopping.

Day 03: Drive from Darjeeling to Gangtok (110 km/ 4 Hours)

Day Schedule: On this day, check-out from the hotel after having breakfast and start driving towards Gangtok, the capital city of the North-Eastern paradise called Sikkim. Drive through the whirly and serpentine roads, take in the alluring beauty and charm of the soaring mountain peaks and the many different scenic marvels with a short tea break at Lopchu.

While in Lopchu, you will also get a chance to sight in the famous Lovers Meet Point that offers remarkable views of the meeting point of Teesta and Rangit Rivers. Continuing with your drive, you will be reaching Gangtok by mid-afternoon. Arriving in the city, check in into a hotel and relax for the day. If you wish, you can also take a stroll around the glittering MG Marg by evening and witness the swaying beauty of Gangtok’s local life; overnight stay will be in the hotel.

Day 04: Excursion in Gangtok

Day Schedule: The fourth day will get you closer to the enchanting and heavenly beauty of Gangtok and Sikkim as well. On this day; after having breakfast in the hotel, you will be driven towards the stunning Tsomgo Lake which is located at an altitude of 3,750 m and takes around 3 hours to reach from Gangtok. Arrive at the lakeside and witness its fascinating beauty; make sure you do not miss your camera and also click some of the magical snaps of this gorgeous lake.

Completing the lake visit, you will be taken towards the legendary Baba Harbhajan Mandir (4,000 m), which is maintained by the Indian Militaries. Completing these excursions, drive back to the Gangtok hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 05: Drive from Gantok to Pelling (120 km / 6 Hours)

Day Schedule: After having breakfast in the Gangtok hotel, take another drive through the beautiful and charming trails of Sikkim’s capital city and proceed towards Pelling. Your arrival in Pelling will be embraced with your checking in into a hotel, from where you can witness and enjoy the enchanting beauty of Pelling; overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 06: Pelling Sightseeing

Day Schedule: As you wake up in the morning, you will get an authentic touch of Sikkim’s warm hospitability and treat with a lavish and filling breakfast. Post breakfast, get started with a local sightseeing tour of the gorgeous Darap Valley, the amusing Rimbik Waterfalls, the beautiful Rock Garden, the alluring Kanchenjunga Waterfalls and the sacred Khacheopalri Lake.

By the time you complete visiting all these tourist spots, it will be time for lunch. Enjoy a delicious lunch and resume your sightseeing tour with a visit to the historical Rabdentse Ruins and the pious Yangtse Monastery. By the end part of the sightseeing tour, visit the Helipad Ground and conclude the day by returning to the hotel in Pelling.

Day 07: Drive from Pelling to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (160 km / 6 Hours)

Day Schedule: As you wake up today morning, you will be completing this wonderful tour of Darjeeling and Sikkim. You will finally be driven back to either New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or the Bagdogra Airport; with your drop, the tour will come to its final end, while you will going back home with numerous pleasant and sweet memories of Darjeeling and Sikkim’s eternal grandeurs!

  We availed services from NatureWings for our Sikkim Darjeeling Tour last month December 12, 2019. We had a great time and our itinerary was smoothly and efficiently managed without any hiccups. Special mention for Indrajit and Arpan who catered to our grievances immediately. The hotels were good and booked in some of the top localities across Sikkim and Darjeeling with good accessibility and all the transport facilities and vehicles were excellent. We would specially like to mention our driver in Darjeeling Mr. Pritam for his outstanding service and punctuality. Overall we found the package to be a little expensive since we had to pay separately for Nathula and zero point (total of Rs 6500 for both since it was subject to availability of vehicle permit) and an additional Rs 1200 for a halt at Buddha Park in Ravangla. I would like to give a minor suggestion to the team to include major tourist points that fall on the way for eg. in our case Chardham at Namchi and Buddha Park at Ravangla fell on our way to Pelling from Gangtok.

  

  We went to Sikkim December 12, 2019 and had a great time. Naturewings made our trip smooth and beautiful.

  Sikkim Darjeeling Gangtok Tour Package Itinerary

  Day 1 – bagdogra/pakyong/new jalpaiguri station/siliguri to gangtok.

  You will be received by our representative at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Pakyong Airport. The representative will assist you on a journey to Gangtok. The road journey to Gangtok is adorned with picturesque landscapes and lush greenery. Gangtok is one of the best tourist destinations in northeast India for peace seekers and nature lovers.

  On arrival in Gangtok, check into a hotel. Enjoy the delicious dinner at the hotel by own.

  Overnight stay in Gangtok.

  DAY-2 – Sightseeing in Gangtok

  After a delicious breakfast, you will get ready to explore the major tourist attractions in Gangtok. You will visit the famous Tsomgo Lake (12,210 ft) and proceed to the nearby sacred New Baba Mandir. If you want to visit the Nathula Pass (the Indo-China border), you have to inform us in advance. The permit costs an additional Rs.3000 per vehicle (the pass is closed on Mondays).

  Later drive back to the Gangtok. In the evening, you can go for local sightseeing, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

  DAY-3 - Half Day Gangtok Sightseeing and Gangtok to Darjeeling

  The day 3 of the tour is divided into the 2 parts: In the first half of the day, you will explore the major tourist attractions of Gangtok namely: 1. Ropeway 2. Do-Drul Chorten 3. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology 4. Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) 5. Flower Show (Orchid)

  In the later part of the day, you will embark on the beautiful road journey from Gangtok to Darjeeling. The road trip is dotted with unspoiled natural beauty, alpine landscapes, and peaceful lakes and rivers. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check into a hotel and explore the local area in the evening by own.

  DAY-4 - Sightseeing in Darjeeling and its nearby attractions

  Early in the morning, at 4 AM, you will leave for Tiger Hill to see the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. The beautiful and enthralling experience set the vibe for the rest of the day. You will return to the hotel, have breakfast, and get ready to visit the major attractions of Darjeeling, like:

  Day 1 New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – Gangtok (130 km/4 hour trip)

  When you arrive at NJP/Bagdogra, you will be greeted by one of our representatives. He’ll take you to Gangtok in his car. Arrive at the hotel and check in. Get some rest and freshen up. Rest of the day is free. In the evening, you can go to Gangtok’s main street, MG Marg. Stay the night at the hotel.

  Day 2 Full-day touring in Gangtok

  After a sumptuous breakfast, go out on a journey to see the iconic sights of Gangtok, Sikkim’s capital. Gangtok is the gateway to Sikkim and is located at an elevation of 1,650 metres. First, go to the Bakthang Waterfalls, which are pretty large and make for excellent photo opportunities.

  Kanchenjunga is the world’s third highest peak.

  This location is well noted for its spectacular sunrise views. Then travel to Ganesh Tok, a charming Hindu temple with breathtaking views from the mountaintop. After that, go to Enchey Monastery, which is said to be the residence of Khangchendzonga and Yabdean, the protector deities. Take a ride on the Ropeway cable car and get a bird’s eye perspective of the area.

  The Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show, and Banjhakri Falls are among the other Gangtok attractions to be covered. Return to the hotel after touring. Stay at the hotel for the night.

  Day 3 Gangtok ( Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir)

  Prepare yourself for an eventful day today! Start early in the morning, around 8 a.m., to reach the beautiful Tsomgo Lake, which is about a 3-hour journey from Gangtok and located at an elevation of 3750 m. It’s an enticing source of water that gets its allure from the surrounding snow-capped mountains and wildflowers. Hindus and Buddhists alike regard it as sacred. It freezes in the winter and resurfaces in the spring with flowering flowers in its environs. Drive to Baba Harbhajan Mandir after enjoying the lake, which is dedicated to a gallant Indian soldier named Baba Harbhajan Singh who gave his life while fulfilling his duty.

  Day 4 Gangtok – Darjeeling (110 km/4 hours)

  Begin your journey to Darjeeling, the Queen of Hills, after breakfast. When you arrive in Darjeeling, our representative will assist you in checking into your accommodation. Hotel stay for the night

  Day 5 Darjeeling, (full day sightseeing)

  As you tour the main sights of Darjeeling on this day, you will have a fantastic time. It’s a lovely location in West Bengal, at an elevation of 2,042 metres. Today, get up at 4 a.m. to explore Tiger Hill, one of Darjeeling’s most popular tourist destinations. The stunning views of the sunrise above Mt. Kanchenjunga draw travellers from all over the world. It is the town’s highest peak.

  Next, go to Batasia Loop, a magnificent spiral railway track, and Ghoom Monastery. On your journey to the next destination, the Japanese Temple, stop for breakfast. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage place recognised for its beautiful Japanese architecture.

  Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Peace Pagoda, and Chitrey Tea Garden are among the major Darjeeling sites that will be covered today (outer view). Spend the evening on Darjeeling’s main street, MG Road.

  Day 6 Darjeeling - Bagdogra Airport (IXB) (88 km/3 hour trip)

  Dear Sir/Madam, We booked our trip for Sikkim , Darjeeling , Gangtok and Lachung, Actually we book this trip for lachung only but in the last movement you changed destination form lachung to Pelling , after that I fights with your lot of Executive mainly Mr. Dattaprasad I fired lot of , also I planed to raise the complaint in consumer court, I gave option to transfer my money to March trip but your Executive told already booked ticket's. Finally we went for trip. Also known as the "Queen of Hills", Darjeeling has already flourished as a touristy place full of scenic attractions. Cover at least 80 km to finally reach Darjeeling. But, during the journey stop at Sonada, a tiny hamlet quite renowned for Smdrup Darjay Choling Monastery.

  Visit the monastery to get closer to the local Buddhist culture. Reach Darjeeling after having approximately 3 hours of journey. Now, check into your hotel and spend some time at leisure. Stroll into the nearby places or the lush green tea gardens to spend some tranquil time. Finally, stay overnight at Darjeeling with this North Sikkim Tour Package.

  

  In the early morning, proceed to Tiger Hill to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the snow-clad Mt. Kanchenjunga. Return back to your hotel after having the first ray of the sun. On the way to the hotel, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Have breakfast; then again proceed to many other sightseeing places of Darjeeling. Start by visiting Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, a natural habitat of many other unique Himalayan flora and fauna.

  Next, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute to observe Tenzing Norgay's valuable gears used on his first expedition to Mount Everest, have a ride in the ropeway to get a scenic view of the valley, etc. Also, visit the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Happy Valley Tea Estate, Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda respectively. Return back to your hotel and stay overnight at Darjeeling.

  

  Take early morning breakfast to proceed for an excursion to Mirik. After covering approximately 60 km, reach Mirik. First, visit Mirik Lake which is surrounded by lush green forests. Spend some tranquil time here while listening to the melodious songs of the Himalayan birds. Then, visit Orange Orchards, an alluring touristy place that looks quite alluring and charming during the season of full blooming. Visit Bokar Monastery, Mirik Tea Gardens, and Pasupati Nagar accordingly. Situated just 15 km away from Mirik and near Indo-Chinese Border, Pasupati Nagar is notable for its local markets where you can buy various artifacts, handicrafts, perfumes, clothes, etc. In the evening, again return back to your hotel room. Spend the evening at Leisure and finally overnight stay at Darjeeling.

  

  After early morning breakfast, check out from your hotel to start a thrilling journey towards Gangtok, a fascinating capital city of Sikkim full of scenic landscapes. After covering more than 100 km and cutting through green alpine forest, tea gardens, and picturesque valleys, you will finally reach Gangtok. Check into your hotel and take a rest or roam around the always busy MG Marg as the rest of the day is all yours. Explore many restaurants and shopping malls. In the evening, have a delicious dinner and stay overnight at Gangtok.

  

  Wake up early as it is the day to proceed to Lachen with this North Sikkim Tour Package. After breakfast check out from your hotel and head towards Lachen, a tiny hamlet located at an elevation of 2,750 meters. Spend 6 long hours during the journey but it will initially feel short as on the way you will come across some of the fascinating landscapes and places. During the journey stop at Singhik View Point which is quite famous for offering a great view of Mount Kanchenjunga and Seven Sisters Waterfall for the surreal beauty of cascading water. Also, visit Chungtang, a scenic place to be blessed by the Guru Padmasambhava, one of the renowned saints in Sikkim whose footprints are still there on a huge rock. Resume your journey again. Situated just 66 Km away from Lachen, reach this scenically blessed lake which also has its own religious significance. This sacred lake is believed to be blessed by Guru Padmasambhava, thus has a strange ability to fulfill barren couples' wishes. Moreover, the spectacular lake has left many travelers awe-struck with its splendid beauty and charm. Now, return back to your hotel to have your lunch.

  Next, check out from the hotel to start a journey towards Lachung via Chungtang. It is an overall journey of 3 hours with an approximate distance of 46 km. Situated at an elevation of 8600 ft. Lachung is a magnificent tiny hamlet where you can find stunning fruit orchards, gleaming streams, and gushing blue rivers flowing through. On the way to Lachung, visit Bhim Nala Waterfalls.
