Staff Recruitment

We require on-going training for our staff through state classes, orientation videos, in-house training, and other certified professionals in the education field. All of our teachers hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and are trained in First Aid and CPR.

A Letter from our Founder

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to welcome you to The Academic Journey Child Care Center, where we care for the child and not the day. I am aware that research states that children who grow up in poverty face disadvantages that hamper healthy development. The Academic Journey Child Care Center was founded to change this narrative. TAJ’s purpose is to provide affordable high-quality childcare services for families who substantially have lower levels of educational attainment and provide services that will close the achievement gap. TAJ Child Care Center will work diligently to close performance gaps with rigorous learning with the use of interventions and having lesson plans which are developmentally appropriate providing learning activities driven by an academic boost. TAJ will provide a wide range of learning opportunities when it comes to high-quality education, including access to experienced and effective teachers and adequate school curriculums and resources.  I, Teresa Seals is a Continuous Career Education Certified Teacher obtaining Teacher Licensure from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. I possess an Associate’s Degree in Child Care, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s in Education. I have had a wealth of opportunities and work experiences in the childcare and education field.

I am excited and honored that you have chosen The Academic Journey Child Care Center as your school readiness program. The Academic Journey is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment by following local, state, and federal guidelines. Your child/children will experience love, laughter and learning.
