Tom Cruise 's son, Connor , has followed a different path than that of his old man -- and that path is one of a fisherman who reels in big catches ... really big catches.

CC was part of the Sarasota Slam fishing tournament in Florida this weekend, and it looks like he and his crew took the grand prize for a Grouper that literally ended up weighing hundreds of pounds.

To be precise, the beast ended up clocking in at 301 pounds ... which was proudly announced across the docks and got huge applause from the crowd. Word is, Connor and co. actually caught it Friday -- but kept it on ice until Saturday when they checked the poundage.

Connor writes of the haul ... "Got it done yesterday with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank."

Tom and Nicole Kidman 's kid is all into the sport these days. His social media pages are plastered with photos and videos of him posing with a bunch of dead fish ... huge ones at that.

His parents might be killing it in Hollywood ... but he's carrying his own weight on the high seas. Congrats!

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's son wins fishing competition after reeling in gigantic fish

Tom Cruise is a big fish in Hollywood – but he’s nothing compared to the one his son managed to reel in over the weekend.

Connor Cruise, who is the adopted son of Cruise and Nicole Kidman, won the biggest prize at the Sarasota Slam tournament in Florida after bagging an enormous Grouper.

Cruise and his team managed to capture the fish on Friday and it was announced as the winning catch of the event on Saturday after being kept on ice overnight.

The creature weighed a massive 301 pounds (21.5 stone), which is one and a half times the weight of an average American man, so it’s hardly surprising that it was the biggest catch of the weekend.

A video of the weigh-in was posted on Conner’s Instagram, and the 27-year-old was seen celebrating with his three teammates as they were announced as winners.

He also posted a picture of the group with the catch, adding the caption: “Got it done yesterday with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank @gomx_fish @freemanboatworks @nick_chicouris_ @thereelborn2catch @fountainofyouthfishing #TopFish.”

Connor is no stranger to huge catches like this one. A flick through his Instagram page shows a bunch of pictures of him posing with fish he’s managed to reel in.

Despite his early attempts to become an actor, and stints as a DJ, judging by his social media channels he seems to have focused on his deep-sea fishing.

Connor was adopted by Cruise and Kidman in 1995 when he was an infant. The actors were married between 1990 to 2001.

It comes after an awkward clip of Cruise being asked about the pair’s relationship from 2005 went viral earlier this year .

Cruise was asked about Kidman, who he divorced four years previously, in an excruciating interview with 60 Seconds host Peter Overton.

SARASOTA, FL — Tom Cruise's son may not be making blockbuster films like his dad, but his fishing skills in the deep blue sea are getting people to take notice in a big way.

Connor Cruise, who lives in Clearwater, and his crew caught a 301-pound Warsaw grouper Friday, taking home the grand prize during the 2022 Sarasota Slam fishing tournament.

"Got it done yesterday [Friday] with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank," Connor Cruise posted to Instagram.

Following the giant fish's weigh in, video shows the younger Cruise high-fiving some of his team and cheering.

Connor Cruise was adopted by the actor and then-wife Nicole Kidman.

It wasn't immediately clear how much money Cruise and his crew won for the big catch. According to the tournament, prize payouts are 90 percent of entry fees, which were as much as $3,000 per boat .

Event organizers have previously said that more than 500 anglers typically compete in the tournament and reel in over $500,000 in cash prizes annually.

For more than two decades, Sarasota Slam has become one of southwest Florida’s most endeared fishing tournaments.

While Cruise's catch is impressive, Warsaw groupers can actually get much larger than what he recently hooked.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation , they can grow up to nearly 8 feet and weigh almost 600 pounds.

Connor Cruise is killing it in the high seas.

The fishing team of the adopted son of Hollywood heavyweights Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman took the grand prize at the Sarasota Slam tournament in Florida over the weekend by reeling in a massive Grouper.

Cruise and company caught the fish on Friday, which is actually a Warsaw grouper to be exact, and had it on ice until the official weigh-in on Saturday.

The crowd that had gathered along the docks roared when the presenter for the tournament announced the fish had tipped the scales at a whopping 301 pounds.

Dressed in a gray and black camouflage hoodie, grey shorts and a matching baseball cap and sunglasses, Cruise and his team could be seen sharing hugs and high-fives upon the announcement that the fish's weight was good enough to be the winner.

The four men then gathered together for some photos alongside their big catch.

While their 301 pound Warsaw grouper is an impressive haul, this species of grouper can actually grow up to 7.7 feet and weigh 440 pounds, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The fish is long-lived, up to 41 years, and has a slow growth rate. 

While Cruise, 27, has given it a go at following in his parents' footsteps as an actor, as well as a DJ, he has reportedly directed much of his attention to being a deep-sea fisherman in more recent years.

Massive species: While Team Cruise's 301 pound Warsaw Grouper is an impressive haul, this species of grouper can actually grow up to 7.7 feet and weigh 440 pounds, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

His social media platforms, including Instagram, are filled with photos and videos of himself posing with some of his larger catches that dates back over six years. 

In one instance, the avid fisherman showed off a 200-pound yellowfin tuna he reeled in during a fishing trip in 2021.

It turns out Connor has been living in Clearwater, Florida, which makes it easy for him to head out on his deep-sea expeditions.

'Connor lives in Clearwater, which is the church's main hub. He still deejays but he has really become a big fishing guy. He's content with living a quieter life,' a source told People in February 2021 of the Florida beach town, where the Church Of Scientology has its headquarters.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who were married from 1990 to 2001, adopted Connor in 1995 when he was about one-month-old.

The former couple also adopted a daughter, Isabella, in 1992, not long after she was born.

The Top Gun: Maverick star, 60, went on to have a biological daughter Suri, 16, with his third wife, Katie Holmes, while Kidman, 55, went on to have daughters Sunday, 14, and Faith, 11, with her current husband Keith Urban, 54.

Tom Cruise’s son, Connor Cruise, is more on the country boy side of life than his Hollywood father and he just won the grand prize for a Grouper during the Sarasota Slam fishing tournament in Florida this past weekend.

Connor is an avid fisherman with an Instagram page showing off the many trophy fish he’s caught over the years and the Grouper he caught during the tournament might just be one of the biggest fish he’s ever caught.

The Grouper clocked in at 301 pounds and video footage shows people gathered around the weighing dock as they officially weighed the fish. The moment the news was announced, onlookers proudly screamed with excitement and applauded Connor and his crew for the monster Grouper.

The fish was actually caught on Friday and was kept on ice until Saturday when it was weighed.

Connor writes on Instagram, “Got it done yesterday with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank.”

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman may be killing it in Hollywood’s show business, but their offspring Connor sure is carrying his own weight as a professional fisherman on the high seas.

Congratulations Connor on the big catch. It’s good to see you succeed in your own chosen profession.

Looks like a famed actor’s son is catching the fishing buzz.

According to  TMZ,   Tom Cruise’s son, Connor, brought in a sweet catch here recently…

And we’re talking about a 300 pound Warsaw Grouper during the Sarasota Slam fishing tournament in Florida.

Connor and his group allegedly caught the fish on Friday, but decided to keep the biggin’ on ice until Saturday, when they decided to check the poundage, which officially weighed in at 301 pounds, receiving a massive applause from the crowd.

Although both his dad and mom, Nicole Kidman are each star actors in their own rights, it appears that Connor has found his passion in fishing, as he constantly posts pictures of fishing trips to his social media accounts.

According to  Fishing Booker,   there are a ton of different species of Groupers, but the biggest are Goliath Groupers, they can weigh up to eight feet long and 800 pounds. The world record for Goliaths is 680 pounds, and was caught off the coast of Fernandina Beach, Florida.

However, due to the fish’s massive size it made them an easy target, and they were nearly fished to extinction in the 20th century. The fish are now preserved on a catch-and-release basis only.

For Warsaw Groupers, which is what Cruise caught, they can grow as big as about 450 pounds and over seven-feet long. The world record for Warsaw is 436 pounds, 12 ounces, and was caught in Destin, Florida.

TOM Cruise and Nicole Kidman's 26-year-old son Connor shared a rare photo with a beard as he lives a "quiet life."

The snap was taken while he enjoyed a day of fishing in Costa Rica.

Last week, Connor posted a photo of himself smiling as he held a large fish that he caught.

The stars' son, who sported a beard, wore a long sleeve white shirt, yellow shorts and sunglasses for the day on the water.

Connor captioned the post : "Yellowfin were chewing today  #200 ."

He is an avid fisherman, as a source told PEOPLE : "Connor lives in Clearwater, which is the church's main hub. He still deejays but he has really become a big fishing guy.

"He's content with living a quieter life."

The source added that the Church of Scientology is headquartered in the Florida beach town where he resides.

Connor and his sister Bella, 28, are both practicing members of the faith, while their famous father is an outspoken member of the church.

The insider said: "Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they've been members since they were kids."

They added that the siblings "are completely dedicated scientologists just like Tom."

Nicole , 53, and Tom , 58, tied the knot in 1990.

The former couple adopted both Bella and Connor.

The Mission Impossible actor filed for divorce in February 2001, while it was finalized in August of that year.

Tom went on to marry Katie Holmes , 42, in 2006, while they divorced in 2012.

They share 14-year-old daughter Suri together.

Meanwhile, Nicole married country singer Keith Urban, 53, in 2006.

The couple shares two kids together: Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margaret, 10.

While Connor lives a quiet life, he has been spotted spending time with his famous father of the years.

The pair was most recently seen spending time together in London back in October 2019.

Tom Cruise and son Connor made a rare appearance together in New York City Saturday.

The “War of the Worlds” star and his 28-year-old son, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, stepped out in the big apple for a promotional event for Tom’s upcoming film “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning.”

Tom wore a black button-up with blue jeans and black shoes. He completed the simple look with reflective aviator sunglasses and a silver wristwatch.

The “Top Gun: Maverick” star’s son also dressed casually for the event, wearing a gray collared shirt with blue jeans and sneakers.

The actor’s sister Lee Mapother also tagged along with the father-son duo.

Tom and Connor have made a handful of public appearances together in the past, including a 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers game in San Francisco, Calif.

Tom, 61, also shares daughter Isabella with Kidman, 56, whom he was married to from 1990 to 2001. They adopted Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.

As for Tom’s son, the “Seven Pounds” star seems to lead a low-key life outside of the spotlight.

Connor appears to enjoy fishing and playing golf in Florida. He also avoids posting photos of his A-list parents on his social media.

Isabella, who goes by Bella, also stays relatively under the radar . She moved from Los Angeles to live with her husband, Max Parker, in London.

After Tom and Kidman divorced, the two kids chose to stay with their dad in Los Angeles while the “Big Little Lies” star resided in Australia.

In 2018, Kidman made a rare statement about her relationship with her children.

“I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,” she told Australia’s Who magazine .

She also remarked on her children’s decision to pursue Scientology like their father. The actress left the church in the ’90s.

“They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she said, adding that Connor and Isabella are “adults.”

“And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

She added that she believes her “job as a parent” is to “always offer unconditional love.”

Meanwhile, Tom also shares daughter Suri, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Holmes, 44, and the “Jerry Maguire” star tied the knot in 2006 before splitting up in 2012.

In March, sources told Page Six that Tom and Suri have been estranged for some time.

The insider said Tom had not seen his youngest daughter in a very long time and that he was not a part of her life .

After their high-profile split in 2011, Tom admitted in transcripts from his 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media that he had not seen Suri for three months after he and Holmes called it quits.

A recent deep sea fishing trip for Connor Cruise, the 26-year-old son of Tom Crusie and Nicole Kidman , has turned into a major online controversy. In late January, Cruise embarked on a fishing excursion during a Los Suenos Resort & Marina getaway that erupted into scandal after he took to Instagram to show off his massive catch.

In the post, the 26-year-old could be seen amid a blue backdrop of serene ocean waves and the beautiful sky as he held up his massive prize : a giant yellowfin tuna. The fish was so large that Cruise appeared to be having trouble holding it up. The scene around him, meanwhile, was marred with blood from the catch. He shared the post with his 31,000 followers alongside a caption that read, "Yellowfin were chewing today."

While many took to the comments section to congratulate him on his successful catch, many others took issue with the post and Cruise's excursion of choice. Soon, the comments filled with backlash, with one person condemning the action when asking, "You killed a living creature and you are proud of it?" Many others felt similarly, some dubbing Cruise as "awful" and the post as "sad" while several others simply responded with thumbs down emojis. One person took to the comments to write, "you have all the money in the world and you're out there torturing and slaughtering fish. Good job," with another adding, "Uggh! Entitled life once again. Why did you hunt and kill. Surely not for your livelihood." Somebody else wrote, "Freaking disgusting. Leave them in the ocean where they belong," another person asking, "Now you are proud that you killed an innocent living being, aren't you?"

For his part, Cruise did not reply to any of the comments on the post, which marked just the latest example of his love of fishing. He sparked similar outrage back in July 2019 when he shared yet another photo of his catch. That post racked up comments including, "poor fish" and "let the fishes alive please."

Cruise's Jan. 30 post marked his first since October 2020 . Although the son of famous parents – who adopted Cruise and his older biological sister, Bella Cruise, 28, when the Hollywood superstars were still married – the 26-year-old has all but remained out of the spotlight, even on social media, where he only infrequently shares updates. Prior to his fishing post, his latest post had been a tribute to lake NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who died alongside eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, in a January 2020 helicopter crash .

Tom Cruise and Son Connor Attend Los Angeles Dodgers Game Together

Tom Cruise made a rare public appearance with his son at a Los Angeles Dodgers game this past weekend.

The Mission Impossible star, 59, was seen with his 26-year-old son Connor Cruise at Saturday's game Game 2 of the National League Division Series in San Francisco, with the Dodgers facing off against the San Francisco Giants.

Tom was photographed sitting next to Connor in the stands, where he paused to take photos with fans while watching the game. The actor kept warm in a navy jacket while his son wore a black-and-white baseball hat and a black hoodie.

The father-son duo was last publicly photographed together in October 2019 in London. At the time, Tom and Connor were seen walking to a private helicopter.

Connor and his sister, Bella , were adopted by Tom and his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman before they split in 2001. Cruise also shares 15-year-old daughter Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes .

Both of Cruise's eldest children "are completely dedicated Scientologists just like Tom," a source told PEOPLE in 2019.

Kidman, who does not practice Scientology, told the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 2018 that she loves and supports her children while keeping them out of the spotlight.

"I'm very private about all that," Kidman said, per Who Magazine . "I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150% that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

Despite their famous parents, both Bella and Connor keep their personal lives private. Bella lives in London with her husband, Max Parker, while Connor was most recently living in Clearwater, Florida, near the Scientology headquarters.

While he previously dabbled in both acting and DJing, Connor is spending much of his time deep-sea fishing and barbecuing, according to his Instagram .

"Connor has a pretty simple life in Clearwater," a source told PEOPLE in 2018. "He lives in his own home in a Scientology community. His life is deep-sea fishing. He has a lot of friends and seems very well-liked."

Connor Cruise is giving his followers another rare glimpse into his personal life.   While the son of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise doesn't post on social media often, he recently made an exception during a night out with friends in Italy. In a photo posted to his Instagram Story on Sept. 22, Connor can be seen smiling alongside his pals while enjoying a meal in Milan.

This social media snap is one of the first fans have seen of the former actor since late April . At the time, the avid outdoorsman gave a shout-out to his fellow fisherman friend and boat captain. "Happy Birthday @hookedforlife," he wrote alongside a pic of the two posing while holding a rather large fish. "Cheers to another year slaying monsters around the globe."

While Connor has amassed over 35,000 followers on Instagram, the fishing enthusiast prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Connor's parents— who announced their split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage —have also notably been private about details surrounding their personal life. 

However, in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar , the Nine Perfect Strangers star made a rare comment about the speculation surrounding her marriage.

Tom Cruise has been a pilot, a secret agent, a bartender, and a vampire. One thing he hasn’t been in a movie, it seems, is a golf pro – so his son, Connor Cruise , picked up that slack on Apr. 29. Connor, 28, snapped a shot of him at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, giving the thumbs up while standing on the course. The adopted child of Tom, 60, and Nicole Kidman looked good in his dark blue striped polo and shorts.

Before that, Connor hadn’t posted anything on his IG since August 2022. Connor participated in a fishing trip as part of the “Providing Meals On Reels” campaign to feed the hungry. “Got it done yesterday with the boys. 301# Warsaw on the hand crank @gomx_fish @freemanboatworks @nick_chicouris_ @thereelborn2catch @fountainofyouthfishing #TopFish,” Connor captioned a video of him standing next to a giant grouper. The fish looked as tall as a man, and a follow-up post said that he donated “over 300 lbs. of Warsaw Grouper ” for the charity campaign.

Connor doesn’t often post on social media; when he does, it’s usually about how he likes to fish. He’s also behind @ConnorsMeatShack, an Instagram account dedicated to his efforts in the culinary arts. However, he hasn’t been that active on the account. He last posted in January, reminding everyone to “ render your fat! ”

In June 2022, Connor hung out with The Sandlot star Patrick Renna in Santa Monica, California. The two were seen having dinner together at the iconic Italian eatery Capo located on Ocean Avenue. After the meal, they took a moment outside the restaurant to talk briefly before going their separate ways.

Tom appeared alongside Connor in 2021 when the two caught a baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. Since then, Tom and Connor haven’t made any public appearances together.

In March 2023, Page Six reported that Tom “has not seen [ Suri Cruise ] in a very long time” and that he “is not part of her life.” Tom and Katie, Holmes ‘s daughter, was six-years-old when her parents divorced in 2012, and he hasn’t been photographed with her since a trip to Disneyland that same year. Tom remains estranged from his daughter and his ex-wife, with allegations that his affiliation with the Church of Scientology claiming that’s the reason behind the rift.

Suri Cruise looked so grown up on Wednesday when she she was captured heading on vacation with her mother, Katie Holmes  from New York. 

The mother-daughter duo were pictured getting into a car with their luggage as they headed off for the Easter weekend. Suri's beautiful long hair took centre stage of the pre-holiday snaps. The 17-year-old donned a pair of fabulously vibrant red trousers covered in white swirls, a corduroy navy blue jacket with a shearling collar and black trainers. 

Meanwhile, mom Katie oozed glamour wearing an oversized army-green jacket and beige trousers. The actress slipped on a pair of dark sunglasses, and opted for a pair of chunky black sandals for footwear.

The mother-daughter trip came just weeks before Suri turns 18 on April 18. Katie is exceptionally private about her daughter, and whether or not she will go to college has yet to be revealed. 

However, Suri has been involved in two of her mother's movies, Alone Together and Rare Objects, where she can be heard showing off her impressive singing voice.

Therefore, it is likely that the youngster may want to follow in her movie star parent's footsteps for a career in Hollywood.  Listen to Suri's incredible vocals in the video below.

Prior to their latest appearance in New York, the duo were spotted back in December for  Katie's 45th birthday celebrations.  The pair couldn't have looked more similar in the photos.

Katie looked effortlessly glamorous,  sporting a grey and black leopard print maxi dress, which she paired with classic white boots. 

Meanwhile, Suri was wrapped in a cozy grey tweed coat, oversized maroon scarf and black pointed-toe heels.

He does however pay £400,000 a year in child support which will come to an end when she turns 18 in April.
