Tool Announce 2023 North American Tour Dates
Tool have announced a 2023 North American tour that's set to kick off this fall.
The run begins with a Sept. 22 appearance at the Louder Than Life Festival and after that, it's back out on the road from Oct. 3 through Nov. 21 as the band makes stops in the U.S. and Canada with additional festival stops (Aftershock, Power Trip) in the mix as well.
See all of the upcoming dates below and look for non-festival tickets to go on sale on June 9 at 10AM local time. Pre-sale tickets, meanwhile, will be offered to the Tool Army starting June 8 at 10AM local time. Head here for additional Tool Army information.

In late February, Adam Jones shared a video on his Instagram story rehearsing the 10,000 Days track "Rosetta Stoned" with Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey. The band's fans were freaked out on Reddit over the clip because the song hasn't been played much at all over the last decade. They performed it a handful of times in 2018, and prior to that, it hadn't been part of their setlist since 2009, so perhaps we'll see the rockers bring it back around during this upcoming run.

Since the 2019 release of TOOL’s critically-acclaimed album, Fear Inoculum , the band has won a GRAMMY Award® (Best Metal Performance for “7empest”), completed sold-out tours of both the U.S. and Europe, and headlined Bonnaroo, Welcome to Rockville and the Sonic Temple Arts & Music Festival. TOOL marked the 30th anniversary of the Opiate EP with the 2022 release of “ Opiate 2 ,” a re-imagining of the EP’s title track, released in tandem with a breathtaking, 10-minute short film crafted by Adam Jones and visual artist Dominic Hailstone (“Alien: Covenant”, “The Eel”).
Reviews from TOOL’s sold-out 2022 tours praised the four-piece, with Loudwiredubbing the performances as “a masterclass of immersion, sound and stage design, musicianship… and levels of ungodly tightness.” The Austin Chronicle described the incomparable live experience as an “unbridled exchange of catharsis between performers and fans.” More recently, Revolver, covering Welcome to Rockville 2023, said “TOOL delivered a stunning… set featuring classic fan favorites, newer Fear Inoculum standouts and choice deeper cuts … the striking visuals also included a psychedelic laser and projections show bar none.”
ABOUT TOOL: TOOL formed in 1990, releasing five studio albums: Undertow (1993), Ænima(1996), Lateralus (2001),10,000 Days (2006), and Fear Inoculum (2019); two EPs: 72826 (1991) and Opiate (1992), and the limited-edition boxset Salival (2000). The band has won four GRAMMY Awards®: Best Metal Performance (1998, “Ænima”), Best Metal Performance (2002, “Schism”), Best Recording Package (2007, 10,000 Days) and Best Metal Performance (2020, “7empest”). TOOL is Danny Carey (drums), Justin Chancellor (bass), Adam Jones (guitar) and Maynard James Keenan (vocals).

Tool Announce Massive 2022 U.S. Tour
UPDATE, 12/6/21: Tool have added a new U.S. show to their 2022 tour, on January 28th at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs. Tickets will go on-sale this Friday, December 10th at 10 a.m. mountain. A selection of exclusive packages, which include a pre-sale ticket, will also be made available to Tool Army members on December 8th at 10 a.m. mountain via this link .
ORIGINAL STORY: On March 12th, 2020, Tool were scheduled to play the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon, in support of their long-awaited album, Fear Inoculum , when the show was abruptly canceled as nationwide lockdowns began to take effect in response to the rapid spread of COVID-19. Little did anyone realize at the time how long the pandemic would last, but today (September 27th), over a year and a half later, the prog-metal titans have finally announced a resumption of the Fear Inoculum tour — and they're picking up literally right where they left off, at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon.
"It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road," drummer Danny Carey commented. "These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you." Singer Maynard James Keenan added, "Let's finish what we started. Shall we?"
The band are set to spend three months touring the U.S. before heading to Europe for another month (see the full itinerary below), with Blonde Redhead opening shows from January 10th to February 10th, and the Acid Helps doing the honors from February 19th to March 20th. Tickets for all dates are on-sale this Friday, October 1st at 10 a.m. local time (U.K. and Irish dates are on-sale at 9 a.m. local time). Tool Army members can purchase pre-sale tickets for European dates on September 28th at 10 a.m. local time (24-hour pre-sale window), while U.S. pre-sale tickets are available on September 29th at 10 a.m. local time (36-hour pre-sale window). A selection of exclusive packages, which include a pre-sale ticket, will also be made available to Tool Army members on September 29th at 10 a.m. local time.

Tool Announce 2022 Tour
By Matthew Strauss
Tool have announced 2022 tour dates. The shows are set to begin in the United States in early January, with the North American run stretching into March. Tool will then play European and UK shows in April and May. Find the dates, including stops with Blonde Redhead and the Acid Helps, below.
Like many bands, Tool had plan to go on tour last year, announcing concerts in February. By June, however, the band formally canceled the tour.
“It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” Tool drummer Danny Carey said in a statement. “These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you.”
Tool’s latest album is 2019’s Fear Inoculum .

Mayor Parker leads Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood tour to help clean up living conditions
By Eva Andersen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker led a walking tour on Saturday to assess neighborhood conditions and discuss strategies for improvement. The tour is the second in a series of 10 neighborhood walking tours aimed at identifying areas in need of attention, including hot spots for illegal dumping.
Carlton Williams, the Director for the Mayor's Office of Clean and Green Initiatives, said it's one step in a large approach to making the city more clean for people who live there.
"We're going to South Philadelphia, the Northeast, the Northwest, all parts of the city so that we can understand all of the quality of life issues that people face," Williams said. "Every neighborhood is different and we want everyone [from the city], including the mayor, get a chance to hear and see the different types of issues that we have to face as a city."
The walking tour, which commenced at 28th and Woodland Avenue, brought together Mayor Parker and dozens of city officials to evaluate the state of the neighborhood.
"You have L&I out here, Sanitation, Streets, Parks and Rec, Commerce, and many other departments, PPA, and the Police, working together," Williams said. "We want people to know that we're accessible."
Residents and workers at local businesses on Woodland Avenue said seeing the mayor in their neighborhood made an impact.
Jane Geiger, age 75, expressed appreciation for the mayor. Geiger stood outside the business where she worked on Woodland Avenue.
"Her presence is telling the community and people all over the world, for that matter, how she cares," Geiger said.
The impact of the tour extended beyond just the older residents. Young participants like Kaniyah Blackwell, daughter of Crystal Saviour, said she enjoyed meeting the mayor.
"I never saw a Black mayor before," Blackwell said.
While addressing all the issues discovered on the tour will take time, Mayor Parker wants residents to recognize that this is just one step on the journey to change.
