The Weeknd has announced European and Latin American dates for his After Hours Til Dawn tour, which belatedly wrapped its North American leg in Los Angeles over the weekend. Next year’s dates begin on June 10 of next year in Manchester, UK at Etihad Stadium. The newly announced European leg of the tour spans 21 cities and continues with six dates in Latin America’s most popular destinations before wrapping up in Santiago, Chile on Oct. 15 at the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida. Additional 2023 dates will be announced soon.

The After Hours Til Dawn tour supports the Weeknd’s 2020 chart-topping album “After Hours,” as well as his fifth studio album “Dawn FM,” which was released in January this year. Kaytranada and Mike Dean will be joining the Weeknd on all European dates.

Ticket holders will receive souvenir NFTs, powered by Binance, as well as gain access to an exclusive NFT collection for the tour, in collaboration with HXOUSE. Five percent of the sales from the upcoming tour NFT collection will be donated to the XO Humanitarian Fund.

Today, Diamond certified and award-winning artist The Weeknd announced 2023 dates for the expansion of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour . The next leg of the tour will kick off Saturday, June 10th in Manchester, UK at Etihad Stadium, with stops across Europe and Latin America in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and more before wrapping up in Santiago, Chile on Sunday, October 15th at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida. Additional 2023 dates will be announced soon.

The completely sold out North American leg of the stadium tour was an incredible success breaking attendance records and grossing over $130 million dollars to date.

United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye will again partner with the U.N. World Food Programme to contribute funds from the second leg of the tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis. €1 from each ticket sold across Europe, £1 in the UK and the $1 equivalent in countries across Latin America will go to this important cause. The fund raised money during the North American leg of the tour through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive tour t-shirt, and a $500,000 donation directly from The Weeknd. The Weeknd’s corporate partners, tour venues, World Food Program USA board of directors and supporters also stepped up to contribute, as well as tour sponsor Binance, who contributed US$2 million to the fund.  The first grant of $2 million will be going to provide emergency food and nutrition assistance to the most food-insecure regions of Ethiopia. The Weeknd has announced a string of 2023 European and Latin American tour dates for his upcoming 2023 After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour.

The Diamond-certified artist’s announcement comes as an expansion of his recently-concluded North American tour. The European leg of the shows will kick off on June 10 in Manchester, UK at Etihad Stadium. Other stops include shows in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and more. The tour ends on October 15 in Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida.

Kaytranada and Mike Dean will join The Weeknd on all European dates.  More dates for 2023 will be announced soon, according to a press statement.

The Weeknd’s North American tour generated $130 million, including a $5 million check the artist donated to charity.

The Weeknd has revealed dates for the global leg of his After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour. Set to kick off in 2023, the expansion covers Europe and Latin America with stops in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and more before wrapping up in Santiago, Chile. Additional dates are still being announced according to a press release.

Through a personal donation of $500,000, funds raised through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive tour t-shirt, tour sponsor Binance’s $2 million contribution and additional partnerships, the award-winning performer was able to donate millions to the cause he represents.

An initial $2 million grant will be going toward providing emergency food and nutrition assistance to the most food-insecure regions of Ethiopia, reaching more than 75,000 people. The Weeknd presented a check to World Food Program USA during a private event at his After Hours Til Dawn concert last weekend (Nov. 27) in Los Angeles.

World Food Programme to contribute funds from the worldwide trek to the XO Humanitarian Fund. €1 from each ticket sold across Europe, £1 in the UK, and the $1 equivalent in countries across Latin America will be donated to this important cause.

The worldwide sensation announces a tour across Europe and Latin America in the upcoming year.

The Weeknd has remained a sensational mainstay in the music scene for his distinct dark-pop sound, drawing in and gripping the attention of millions of fans from all over the world. The diamond-certified artist has just announced the expansion of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour, off the heels of its completely sold-out North American iteration. A raging success, the tour grossed over $130 million in revenue – marking a turning point in the artist’s exponential growth.

The Weeknd will blaze through Europe, starting on the 10th of June in Manchester, also going on to hit up Latin America. Closing off After Hours Til Dawn in Santiago, Chile – this upcoming tour is one of his most expansive yet. Not to mention, his European dates will see the likes of Kaytranada and Mike Dean join him on stage. What’s not to love?

As a UN World Food Programme Ambassador, The Weeknd will also be using some of the tour’s earnings to contribute to the XO Humanitarian Fund, giving back to the community. The sales for the European tour go live this Friday the 2nd of December, while the tickets for the Latin American tours go on sale on the 8th of December. All in all, this tour is hotly-anticipated – and you won’t want to miss it.

The Weeknd Announces Second Leg of 2023 ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’

The Weeknd will embark on the second leg of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour in spring 2023, playing shows in Europe and Latin America territories. 

The 27-date stadium tour begins June 10, 2023, at Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

From there, The Weeknd will visit Dublin, London, Milan, Paris, Munich, Mexico City and São Paulo, before concluding with a show in Santiago, Chile, on Oct. 15, 2023.

According to The Weeknd’s website, “fans who had tickets for the 2022 After Hours Arena Tour in Europe” can visit this landing page for presale access.

General on-sale tickets start this Friday, Dec. 2, at 12 p.m. local time.

Kaytranada and Mike Dean retain their North American duties as special guests on select dates.

The Weeknd’s upcoming 2023 dates follow his sold-out North American After Hours Til Dawn Tour , which recently concluded with two nights in Los Angeles.

The tour will continue to support his 2022 album Dawn FM , released Jan. 6 via XO/Republic Records. He quickly responded with an expanded edition, Dawn FM: Alternative World .

Dawn FM featured previously shared tracks “ Take My Breath ” and “ Sacrifice .” Cliqua directed the visual for both tracks.

Speaking of “Sacrifice,” Chxrry22 , signed to XO Records, recently released her version .

Throughout the year, The Weeknd dished out alternate versions of Dawn FM tracks, including “ Out of Time ,” “How Do I Make You Love Me?” and “ Best Friend ,” to name a few.

Kaytranada remixed variations for the first track, while Summer Walker joined The Weeknd for the latter standout.

The Weeknd earned two nominations at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, including Male Artist of 2022 and Album of 2022 ( Dawn FM ). 

Music aside, The Weeknd has a new series coming to HBO and HBO Max titled The Idol . It’s described as “the sleaziest love story in all Hollywood.” (The trailer can be viewed above.)

Briefly touching on Kaytranada, he recently released “ Twin Flame ” with Anderson .Paak in August. He contributed production to Joyce Wrice ‘s recent project, Motive , released in October.

Kaytranada is nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording (“ Intimated ” featuring H.E.R.) at the 65th Grammy Awards. The track appears on his 2021 EP of the same name.

This was such a great show!! I would definitely see him live again.

This review might not be completely objective as Abel has been my favourite singer for a few years now. However, I can definitely admit the Starboy tour date in Paris was the best pop concert I've been to this year. Even though some songs could have been put out of the tracklist, he mostly sang his catchiest songs of his career, no matter the era. He has great, or should I say, tremendous energy as he continuously sang twenty-something songs with no pause in between. He has no trouble reaching high notes live, his voice sounding even more heavenly in real life. That night, he invited Travis Scott on stage who pumped up the crowd more than him, which is a shame and showcases very well his lack of success and recognition in France, yet, in a sold out stadium. Most people actually didn't even know his real name or the lyrics of his songs ! I would recommend any "real fan" who has known him for a while or who likes his last album a lot to go to a Starboy tour date. I promise you, you won't regret it.

The concert was absolutely stunning. A starship was used and the lights were coordinated very well. Abel sang amazingly in person and I loved jumping up and down screaming with other members of the audience while he sang. The concert was truly magical and I enjoyed every second Abel stood on stage.

As for the other singers who appeared on stage, I was very satisfied with their singing as well. They did an amazing job and captured the entire audience. In between Abel's music, the other singers such as Lil Uzi and 6lack played their hits on stage and the whole crowd became even more alive. If I the concert played out any other way, I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as this concert.

Just one day after bringing the first leg of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour to a close, the Weeknd has announced even more tour dates to come in the new year. The second leg begins in June 2023, and the trek runs through Europe and Latin America. Check out the Weeknd’s schedule below.

The Weeknd released his fifth studio album, Dawn FM , in January. The album was withheld from consideration for the 2023 Grammy Awards , continuing a boycott that started in 2021 after the Weeknd’s previous album, After Hours , failed to receive any Grammy nominations. Despite the boycott, the Weeknd won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his contributions to the Kanye West song “Hurricane.”

The Weeknd announces 2023 european dates for his “after hours till dawn” stadium tour!

The Weeknd has just made a thrilling announcement for his fans across Europe. He will be embarking on a highly-anticipated European tour, including a stop at the prestigious King Baudouin stadium in Brussels, Belgium, on July 11, 2023.

After the unfortunate postponement of his world tour, which initially included Antwerp’s Sportpaleis for 2022, The Weeknd has resurfaced with an even grander plan. The Canadian artist is determined to deliver a stadium-sized show. This 27-date tour will kick off in Manchester on June 10 and conclude in Estonia on August 12, before moving on to South America. Supporting the singer on this tour will be none other than Grammy-nominated artists Kaytranada and Mike Dean .

Retracing The Weeknd’s Tour Setlist From After Hours til Dawn

The Weeknd had a record breaking summer between his European leg of the After Hours til Dawn tour and the release of his HBO show, The Idol, but it's clear that the After Party has only just begun.

Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye had an exceptional summer, quite unlike any other. It all began with the HBO premiere of The Idol on June 4, which he co-created and starred in. Two days later on June 6, the After Hours til Dawn tour kicked off in Lisbon, Portugal, with sold-out shows across multiple cities, concluding in London on August 18. The tour, following a successful North American leg, showcased The Weeknd's evolution since his 2009 debut, from House of Balloons to Starboy to After Hours . His ability to reinvent his sound and maintain global relevance over a decade reaffirmed his status as a musical icon.

But, that was just the beginning. Throughout the summer, he dropped several singles for the show, such as "Popular," featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti, which surpassed 358.8 million streams, and a cover of John Lenon’s “Jealous Guy.” Additionally, he joined forces with Travis Scott and Bad Bunny on "K-POP," a track that garnered over 201.5 million streams. On top of that, he even broke a few records , including attendance records with 160k fans at London Stadium over two nights and the record for the first artist to sell out two nights at Milan's Ippodromo La Maura in Italy.

The Weeknd has solidified his status as a global music sensation with chart-topping hits that have garnered billions of Spotify streams. From " Blinding Lights ," which has gotten nearly 3.9 billion plays since its release in November 2019, to " Starboy ," released in September 2016, with over 2.8 billion streams, his catalog is a testament to his global appeal. Tracks like "The Hills," "Die For You," and "Save Your Tears" have also captivated audiences worldwide, each boasting over a billion Spotify streams.

He currently ranks as the second most-listened-to artist on Spotify, with 103.7 million monthly listeners and a dedicated following of 74.58 million followers, with his fan base coming from all over the world. In the past year, he has gained an additional 24.7 million new monthly listeners, a 31.2% increase. He has a strong global reach: his top five countries by Spotify monthly listeners are the United States, the Philippines, India, Mexico, and Indonesia and his top cities are Mexico City, Jakarta, London, São Paulo, and Sydney.

Following the successful first leg of his After Hours til Dawn tour in North America, which included a live album and an HBO concert film , the tour headed to Europe for the summer. According to the current audience data, he performed in nearly all of his top European countries and cities and even did multiple shows in cities such as Stockholm, Paris, and London. Overall, this leg of his tour consisted of 30 shows in 22 cities across Europe.

The setlist for the tour featured "permanent" songs performed in most shows, primarily from Tesfaye’s 2020 album After Hours and the 2022 album Dawn FM , as well as some of his biggest hits. Unlike the first leg of the tour, in which the setlist remained consistent throughout the leg, the setlist saw changes in most shows, where Tesfaye surprised the fans with “bonus” tracks, which were played only a few times or even only once during the tour. Most of these tracks were from his debut album Kiss Land and the compilation album Trilogy , tracks that he hasn't played in over ten years, in addition to some songs from The Idol .

What makes this intriguing is how these live performances had a tangible impact on Spotify streams. Unlike the conventional TikTok-to-Spotify or TikTok-to-Shazam pipeline for music discovery, the tour has shown an interesting effect where the live concert experience influences streaming. An example of this is the song " Tears In The Rain ," released in 2013 as part of Tesfaye's debut album, Kiss Land . The track was performed by Tesfaye at all stops on the tour after first being played in Stockholm on June 17 (the fourth show of the tour). Two days later on June 19, there was a sudden increase in Spotify streams, which has continued to grow ever since. Similar increases were also seen in the Shazam and Genius views of the song. 

“Tears In The Rain” is considered a deep cut from his extensive catalog and may have resonated with newer fans introduced to it through the live setlist. The immersive and emotional experience of witnessing the live song might have sparked a newfound appreciation, leading them to seek it on streaming platforms. Furthermore, attendee's social media posts and word of mouth can also spark curiosity and FOMO among fans who didn't attend, driving fans to repeatedly stream the song to connect with the broader fan community.

Moreover, this sheds light on the evolving dynamics of fan communities and the challenges of reconciling long-time enthusiasts' experiences with the artist's current global appeal. While some argue that being a fan of The Weeknd is now more mainstream, with the artist's widespread popularity evident in Spotify numbers, stadium concert attendance, and TikTok trends, others express nostalgia for the earlier, more niche XO fan culture, who were there since the original days of “Tears In The Rain.”

Streaming Boost

During the summer, his Spotify streaming activity went through two phases. The first phase, which took place from June 3 to July 22, centered on his weekly new music created for The Idol . It consisted of six separately released EPs between June 9 and July 3, 2023, which were released around the premiere of each episode.

The second phase was from July 22 to August 19, in which he collaborated with Travis Scott and Bad Bunny on “K-POP” and then on “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” with Scott (again) and Swae Lee. The collaborations were part of Scott's fourth album, UTOPIA, and his fantastic performances in these songs, in addition to big shows in Milan and London for his tour during this time period, helped him achieve a new milestone and break a record as the first artist to reach 113 million Spotify monthly listeners.

When a popular artist like The Weeknd performs abroad, it often leads to increased streaming of their songs by local fans and concert attendees as a result of excitement and anticipation for the live event. During the tour, there were notable spikes in his Spotify monthly listeners in multiple cities. After his second Stockholm show on June 18, his local listenership increased by 11.2k the next day, and 7.7k the day after, marking the greatest daily increase since January 2, 2022 (20.6k) in the city. This surge can likely be attributed to the tour rather than the release of a new EP , due to how sizable the increase was and the lack of significant changes for the prior EPs for The Idol .

Similarly in Milan, there was a significant increase in his Spotify monthly listeners following his performances on July 26 and 27, with a growth of 13.6k on both July 27 and July 28. This was the highest increase since July 26, 2022 (32.4k). His monthly listeners grew by an average of 12.5k per day over the next three days, thanks to two sold-out nights and a crowd of around 160k attendees .

With a record-breaking 87k tickets sold for a "traditional concert set-up" at Wembley Stadium, Tesfaye witnessed a significant surge of 39k Spotify monthly listeners in the city. This increase marked the most substantial change in his Spotify monthly listeners in London since November 2, 2018, and stood out as the highest one-day increase throughout the entire European leg. The surge in monthly listeners suggests that, with a large number of fans attending the show and wanting to listen to his music before the event, local fans were highly engaged with his music.

Consequently, artists' tracks may climb the local charts, potentially reaching higher positions or even debuting when they are on tour. In this case, the immediate effect of the tour was seen on the Spotify Daily Top 50 and Apple Music Daily Top 100 charts in the days leading up to and following the concert. The countries with the highest new peaks for his songs on Spotify’s Daily Top 50 were Ireland (4), the Czech Republic (4), Belgium (5), and Estonia (18), all of which were countries where he performed. For example, on August 12, the same day of the show in Estonia, 14 of the 50 tracks on the country’s Spotify Daily Top 50 chart were by or featured The Weeknd, including “House of Balloons” and “The Hills.”

The impact was more noticeable on the Apple Music Daily Top 100, where 75 new peaks or debuts were observed across various countries. For instance, the song "I Can't Feel My Face" (released on June 8, 2015) achieved new peak positions in nine nations. In the Netherlands, “The Hills” jumped 63 positions to number 34 the day after the second show in the city. 

Yet, the tour's impact extended beyond the borders of the countries where he performed. For instance, neighboring countries like Latvia and Lithuania saw shifts in their Spotify Daily Top 50, featuring songs like "Blinding Lights," "Moth To A Flame," and "Lost In The Fire," correlating with the date of the shows in the neighboring country Estonia. 

Social Media

From videos of the Hajime Sorayama robot statue in the middle of the stage to videos of fans singing along or even The Weeknd himself singing with a fan , #TheWeekndConcert has over 1.3 billion views on TikTok. With that, endless official and fan-made sounds were used. For instance, “ Moth To A Flame ” jumped from 26.1k posts on June 6 to 32k on August 18, a growth of 22.6%. “ The Hills ” increased slightly since June 23, jumping from 307.4k posts to 332.4k, a growth of 8.13% by August 18.

Tesfaye's adept use of social media platforms became integral to the tour experience. Before any show, he posted teases of songs he might perform, adding unpredictability and engagement to each tour stop. For instance, he hinted at the inclusion of fan favorite " High for This " in Amsterdam. Fans were left speculating whether he would surprise them with such a rare gem during the show. He ended up teasing and performing the song, fulfilling fans' anticipation.

For established superstars, social media is primarily used to interact and engage with their fans and promote new releases. It is more of a tool for fan retention, rather than discovery or shaping their public image. However, The Weeknd saw a remarkable surge in his Instagram following from May 29 to June 28 of this year. He gained an impressive 3.5 million new followers in just that one month, indicating that despite his fame, he continues to attract new fans. 

Going on Tour is His Vacation

From the different setlists per city, surprising fans, and the thrill of live performances, there is something for everyone to take away from this tour, whether you are an artist or a fan. It’s a celebration of more than a decade of great artistry, dedicated fandom, and, ultimately, the entire alternate world of The Weeknd’s persona. As he sings in "Snowchild," "Going on tour is my vacation."

Unfortunately, The Weeknd is now experiencing an extended vacation from this vacation. After the recent South American leg , he is now faced with the disappointment of postponing tour dates in Australia and New Zealand due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite this setback, the memories created during this summer will endure as one of the highlights of his career, forever holding a special place in the hearts of his European fans. The Canadian R&B superstar had initially scheduled an 11-date stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand, winding its way across both countries last November and December.

“The Weeknd ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ for Australia & New Zealand is still in process of being rescheduled,” reads a statement from LN, seen by Billboard . “Whilst we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled with all ticket holders receiving a full refund accordingly.”

Ticket holders of the The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ shows who previously held on to their tickets will be able to access a priority purchase window for the new tour in Australia and New Zealand when announced, the message reads, linking to a priority waitlist . All current ticket holders will receive an automatic refund.

The tour was originally announced last August with just four shows, visiting each of Australia’s big three east coast cities — Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane — and including a single date in Auckland, NZ.

Additional dates were added last September , boosting the itinerary to 11 across both markets.

The Weeknd’s tour is scrapped as Australia’s festivals market navigates turbulent waters. In recent weeks, the 2024 editions of Splendour in the Grass, Mona Foma, and Groovin The Moo, with soft ticket sales playing a part in each story.

The inaugural Soundcheck report, published by Creative Australia, found the climate for operating a festival was a “highly complex” one, with event organizers challenged with myriad issues, from rapidly increasing costs, changing ticket buying behavior and more.

In the U.S., he has landed seven No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.

On Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart, published last Friday, April 19 , the Weeknd’s hits collection The Highlights lifts 8-4 in its 167th week on the tally. It’s triple-platinum certified in Australia.

The Weeknd’s highly anticipated return to Australia and New Zealand has officially been cancelled.

The stadium outing was first postponed in November 2023 , just three weeks before it was due to kick off due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Australian event ticketing company Ticketek informed ticketholders on Tuesday (23 April) that the Canadian singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, would not be making the trip Down Under.

“The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ for Australia & New Zealand is still in process of being rescheduled,” Ticketek revealed.

“Whilst we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled. All purchased tickets will receive a full refund,” they continued.

Ticketek is encouraging ticket holders to join the waitlist for a forthcoming announcement to gain access to a priority pre-sale.

Originally, The Weeknd was due to perform 11 dates in the region including at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Sydney’s Accor Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium and Eden Park in Auckland.

The Weeknd launched his After Hours til Dawn stadium tour in summer 2022 and grossed US$130 million from 19 shows that year.

He returned to the road in June 2023 and completed 42 shows in Europe and Latin America, earning $220,985,529 at the box office from a ticket total of 2.2 million.

During the European leg, the star smashed Wembley Stadium’s record for sales with a traditional concert set up with 87,000 tickets sold. The artist also set a new attendance record for London Stadium after drawing 160,000 fans over two nights in July 2023.

Breaking: The Weeknd has cancelled his Australian tour

After postponing due to “unforeseen circumstances”, the Starboy has officially scrapped all of his sold-out shows

Nooo! After months of confusion following the announcement in November last year that the Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour was postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances”, it has just been revealed that the entire run of sold-out Aussie gigs have been cancelled.

The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) had been scheduled to play four epic shows at Marvel Stadium on December 1, 2, 4 and 5, 2023, with performances also confirmed in both Sydney and Brisbane. None of these will go ahead now, with Ticketek confirming that full refunds will be issued to all ticketholders

“Whilst we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled. All purchased tickets will receive a full refund,” reads a statement on the ticketing company’s website.

It’s expected that refunds will take approximately 30 days to appear in the accounts of ticketholders. And if the Weeknd does indeed decide to head Down Under again (c’mon, we gotta hold out hope), those people will be able to access a priority pre-sale purchase window for new tickets. If sitting in that stressful Ticketek waiting room is something you’d do all over again just to see the Starboy in real life, there’s a waitlist you can join here .

There’s been no word from the Weeknd himself regarding the Aussie cancellations, and he didn’t publicly comment on the initial postponement – so we’re not holding out hope for statement (or apology!).

Today, Diamond certified and award-winning artist The Weeknd announced 2023 dates for the expansion of his After Hours til Dawn Tour . The next leg of the tour will kick off Saturday, June 10th in Manchester, UK at Etihad Stadium, with stops across Europe and Latin America in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and more before wrapping up in Santiago, Chile on Sunday, October 15th at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida. Additional 2023 dates will be announced soon. The completely sold-out North American leg of the stadium tour was an incredible success breaking attendance records and grossing over $130 million dollars to date.

Europe: Tickets for the European shows go on sale starting Friday, December 2nd at 12pm local time. Fans who purchased tickets for the 2022 After Hours Arena Tour in Europe can register HERE for presale access to the 2023 dates. Visit this EU FAQ page for any questions.

United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye will again partner with the U.N. World Food Programme to contribute funds from the second leg of the tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis. €1 from each ticket sold across Europe, £1 in the UK and the $1 equivalent in countries across Latin America will go to this important cause. The fund raised money during the North American leg of the tour through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive tour t-shirt, and a $500,000 donation directly from The Weeknd.

The Weeknd’s corporate partners, tour venues, World Food Program USA board of directors and supporters also stepped up to contribute, as well as tour sponsor Binance, who contributed US$2 million to the fund. The first grant of $2 million will be going to provide emergency food and nutrition assistance to the most food-insecure regions of Ethiopia.

The tour celebrates The Weeknd’s 2020 album After Hours (it’s hit single “Blinding Lights” was named the new No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time, surpassing Chubby Checker’s 1960 hit “The Twist”), as well as his critically-acclaimed album Dawn FM , which was released January 2022. Kaytranada and Mike Dean will join The Weeknd on all European dates.

Canadian singer The Weeknd has officially cancelled his Australian tour.

The shows were originally set to begin in November last year and were indefinitely postponed at short notice but have now been canned and fans offered refunds.

Ticketek has told ticketholders that refunds would be issued however also said it would “work through the rescheduling process with the artist”.

Anyone who held onto their ticket from six months ago can get a priority purchase if or when a new tour is announced, but otherwise anyone hoping to see the singer will have to join the ticket queue all over again.

The multiple Grammy winner was due to play two shows in each of Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland as part of a global After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour from November 2023.

The show run was postponed two weeks before the first concert in Queensland.
