Ok, it’s time to get real about Tom Cruise ‘s sisters …

The 54-year-old actor has three siblings, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette, Marian Mapother Henry, and Cass Mapother — and they basically all look like Tom’s twin!

Let’s take a step back in time to learn a bit more about Tom’s family, shall we? The future-actor was born Thomas Cruise Mapother IV on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, NY. His parents, Mary Lee Mapother South and Thomas Cruise Mapother III, worked as a special education teacher and an electrical engineer, respectively.

American actor and producer Tom Cruise has three siblings, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette, Marian Mapother Henry, and Cass Mapother.

Tom was born in Syracuse, New York, on July 3, 1962. His parents, Mary Lee Mapother South and Thomas Cruise Mapother III, were special education teachers and electrical engineers, respectively.

Similarly, the actor and his three sisters grew up in near poverty, and their father was abusive. The siblings later relocated to Canada after their parents divorced in the mid-1970s.

Tom’s first girlfriend revealed his close relationship with his siblings in a 2016 interview. “I think he grew up too fast, but he was very close with his three sisters,” she told the Daily Mail. He once stated that he was so close to them that they taught him how to kiss.” Let’s take a closer look at Tom’s siblings.

Tom Cruise’s older sister, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette

In the early 2000s, Lee Ann worked as a public relations manager for her brother Tom, but after almost two years of working together, Tom fired his sister from the position.

Even though Lee Ann’s brother fired her as his publicist, the actor assigned her to handle his charity work. She was also on the set of the sci-fi/action film Minority Report in 2002. Her brother had a starring role in the film, and she worked as an extra as his assistant.

Lee Ann’s brother was always protective of her as a child, and whenever someone teased her, he would quickly defend her and make her feel better. Tom also played various characters to entertain his mother and sisters.

In terms of her personal life, Lee Ann has been married to Stephen Burnett since 1979. However, little is known about her children because she prefers to keep her private life out of the spotlight.

Tom Cruise’s sister, Marian Mapother Henry

Marian worked for Clearwater Real Estate in Clearwater, Florida. Despite having her career, Marian is well-known because of her brother Cruise.

Tom’s sister is married and changed her name to Henry. She and her husband have one child, Cal. She has kept her personal life private and has not posted a photo of her husband on any of her social media platforms.

Furthermore, Marian’s son Cal is the guitarist for the band WD HAN (We Don’t Have A Name). Cal and two of his friends formed the band, which has been chosen for several Countless ReverbNation opportunities. He has been happily married to his band manager, Marjorye Henry, since February 20, 2006.

Tom Cruise’s younger sister, Cass Mapother

Cass, like the rest of the Cruise family, is a devout Scientologist. She is a course director for Scientology.

Cass married her long-term partner, Freedom Medal Winner Greg, president of Criminon International, in front of about 50 guests, including close friends and family members.

However, it is not revealed whether Cass has a child from her marriage with Greg. During her interactions with the media, Cass has always remained tight-lipped about their personal life. She is also not active on social media, like the majority of her siblings.

He had the honour of reading the memorandum at last year’s memorial service on Hyeonchungil (Memorial Day in South Korea), paying respects to fallen soldiers. Additionally, he served as an assistant instructor at the Recruit Training Center.

Despite the demands of military life, he remained focused on his goal of returning to the entertainment industry upon completing his service.

On March 19, 2024, after 18 months of active duty, Kang was finally discharged from the military, ready to embark on the next chapter of his acting career.

The military provided a unique environment for self-improvement, away from the limelight of the entertainment industry.

Kang acknowledged that his time in service coincided with a significant transition in his life, marking the end of his twenties and the beginning of a new decade. This period allowed him to mature and gain valuable perspectives shaping his future endeavors.

He recognized the unwavering support from his fans and expressed gratitude, promising to deliver compelling performances that will captivate and inspire audiences.

Kang Tae Oh enlisted after wrapping up ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’

Kang’s breakout role as the charming Lee Jun-ho in the wildly popular 2022 K-drama  Extraordinary Attorney Woo  catapulted him to stardom.

The legal drama, which followed the story of an autistic rookie lawyer navigating the professional world, struck a chord with audiences worldwide and became a ratings juggernaut.

As the lovable paralegal Lee Jun-ho, his chemistry with the lead actress, Park Eun-bin, was undeniable, and his portrayal of a supportive colleague endeared him to viewers.

The show’s success showed Kang’s acting prowess and ability to bring depth to his character.

However, despite the dizzying heights of his newfound stardom, Kang decided to put his blossoming career on hold to fulfill his mandatory military service obligations.

Just months after wrapping up the immensely successful drama in August 2022, Kang enlisted in September of the same year.

His willingness to temporarily step away from the limelight at a time when his popularity was skyrocketing demonstrated his commitment to his responsibilities as a South Korean citizen.

As the details of  Potato Research Institute  continue to unfold, anticipation builds for Kang’s next chapter in his acting career, where he can showcase his growth and versatility in a fresh and exciting project.

Kang Tae Oh’s other career works

While Kang’s breakout role in  Extraordinary Attorney Woo  propelled him to international stardom, his journey in the entertainment industry spans over a decade, with a diverse range of projects showcasing his versatility as an actor.

His acting debut came in 2013 with the web series  After School: Lucky or Not,  where he appeared alongside fellow members of the actor group 5urprise, formed by his then-agency Fantagio.

He then transitioned to supporting roles in television dramas, such as the 2015 MBC weekend drama  Flower of Queen.

Demonstrating his appeal beyond South Korea, Kang also starred in the lead role of the Korean-Vietnamese joint drama  Forever Young,  gaining recognition in Vietnam.

In 2019, Kang took on a historical drama,  The Tale of Nokdu , earning critical acclaim for his performance in the period piece. The same year, he made a special appearance in the MBC drama  Love with Flaws  and appeared in the Netflix original series  My First First Love.

Kang’s versatility continued to shine in 2020 when he portrayed an art student in the JTBC drama  Run On,  showcasing his range in contemporary roles.

That year also marked a significant career move as he joined the agency Man of Creation (M.O.C) after his previous contract expired.

In 2021, Kang appeared in the fantasy drama  Doom at Your Service  and the one-act drama  Drama Special – The Effect of One Night on Farewell , further diversifying his portfolio.

Kang’s talent for memorable guest appearances was evident in 2022 when he made a special appearance in the drama  Thirty-Nine,  playing the role of a friend to one of the main characters.

Ewan McGregor’s sexuality is often called into question for his portrayal of gay characters.

Is Ewan McGregor Gay? Exploring His Love Life and Movie Roles

Ewan McGregor is a famous Scottish actor who has captivated audiences with his versatile performances across various roles, including several portraying gay characters.

This made some people wonder about his natural sexuality. In this article, we look at whether McGregor is gay. We also discuss his movie roles and real-life relationships today.

Ewan Mcgregor does not identify as gay

While McGregor has portrayed several LGBTIQ characters throughout his illustrious career, the actor himself does not identify as gay. He is known for maintaining a relatively private personal life, rarely delving into discussions about his sexuality or relationships.

However, his marital status serves as a clear indication that he is straight — he has been married to two women so far.

So, While his on-screen personas may have fueled speculation about his personal life, separating an actor’s roles from their real-life identities is essential. His dedication to his art should be celebrated rather than used as a basis for assumptions.

Ewan McGregor has portrayed multiple gay characters over the years

Ewan McGregor has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to portraying diverse characters, including several prominent roles, throughout his career.

One of McGregor’s most notable characters was Curt Wild in the 1998 film  Velvet Goldmine,  directed by Todd Haynes.

In this cult classic, McGregor delivered a captivating performance as a fictionalized version of Iggy Pop, exploring themes of sexuality, identity, and the glam rock scene of the 1970s.

Then, in 2009, he starred opposite Jim Carrey in the dark comedy  I Love You Phillip Morris,  playing the real-life character of Phillip Morris, a con man who fell in love with his cellmate.

His portrayal of Morris’s complex journey of self-discovery and his unwavering pursuit of love showcased his ability to bring depth and nuance to a character that could have easily been reduced to caricature.

More recently, in the 2021 limited series  Halston , he took on the titular role of the iconic fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, who was openly gay.

His performance captured the designer’s flamboyant persona and his struggles with fame, addiction, and personal relationships, offering a poignant and honest depiction of a trailblazer in the fashion industry.

Additionally, McGregor also portrayed similar character Jerome in the 1996 film  The Pillow Book , further demonstrating his versatility and commitment to representing diverse narratives on screen.

Ewan McGregor defended playing a gay character in ‘Halston’

McGregor’s decision to play the iconic fashion designer Halston, who was openly gay, in the Netflix series  Halston  sparked a discussion about casting and representation in the entertainment industry.

While some argued that gay actors should play gay roles, he defended his choice to take on the part.

He acknowledged the concerns raised by actor Billy Porter, who had previously suggested that straight actors should stop playing gay characters, citing the limited opportunities for LGBTQ+ actors to portray their own lived experiences.

McGregor expressed respect for Porter’s perspective, recognizing that he has not faced the same challenges or discrimination due to his sexuality.

However, he argued that Halston’s sexuality was not the series’ primary focus and that the role was more about portraying the designer’s broader life and career.

He felt comfortable taking on the part because the character’s sexuality was just one aspect of his identity rather than the central narrative.

Ultimately, McGregor’s willingness to engage with the discussion and acknowledge different perspectives emphasizes the importance of considering the specific context of each role rather than adhering to rigid rules that may inadvertently limit artistic expression and representation.

Ewan McGregor got married in the late 90s

In the late 1990s, as McGregor’s career was taking off and he was gaining fame for his roles in films with gay representations, he made a significant personal decision that grounded him amidst the whirlwind of success and the temptations that accompany it.

During those early days of fame, he exuded a self-admitted, confident, almost cocky persona. However, this bravado was balanced by his decision to marry young and start a family.

In 1995, he tied the knot with Eve Mavrakis, a French-Greek production designer he had met while working on a British TV legal drama.

Just five months after the premiere of  Trainspotting  in 1996, McGregor and Mavrakis welcomed their first child, a daughter named Clara. He fondly recalls having Clara in his lap as a baby while promoting  Trainspotting  at the Cannes Film Festival.

This early commitment to building a family life alongside his burgeoning career highlights McGregor’s ability to prioritize and balance his personal and professional aspirations and set his gay rumors to rest.

Ewan McGregor is now married to his second wife

McGregor’s personal life took a significant turn in recent years, leading him to marry his second wife , Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Their relationship blossomed from an on-screen romance to a real-life love story.

In late 2016, McGregor and Winstead met on the set of the FX series  Fargo,  where they were cast as love interests during the show’s third season.

At the time, both were married to their respective spouses – McGregor to his first wife, Mavrakis, and Winstead to her then-husband, Riley Stearns.

However, as their on-screen chemistry translated into a deep connection off-screen, their marriages eventually ended, paving the way for them to pursue a relationship together.

After nearly four years of dating, he and Winstead took a significant step in solidifying their commitment to one another.

In 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Laurie. This milestone began a new chapter in their lives as a family. In April 2022, McGregor and Winstead exchanged vows, officially becoming husband and wife the following year.

McGregor’s journey to finding love again with Winstead showcases human relationships’ complexities and unpredictable nature. While his first marriage played a significant role in his life and career, his connection with Winstead blossomed organically from their shared passion for their craft.

The decision to remarry and start a new family with Winstead reflects McGregor’s willingness to embrace change and his openness to new experiences, even in the later stages of his life and career.

Where Does Tom Cruise Live And How Big Is His House?

Tom Cruise at the 2018 "Mission Impossible -- Fallout" premiere

With a  net worth of $600 million , Tom Cruise and the word "movie star" are practically synonymous. Given his impressive resume, spanning from his breakout 1983 role in "Risky Business" to his ever-more-momentous "Mission Impossible" blockbuster franchise, the actor has not stopped making the big bucks for both himself and everyone around him — with his films earning hundreds of upon hundreds in the three decades he's been a star.

Like many of Hollywood's biggest stars, Cruise's life story was as close to rags-to-riches as they come. "For years, all I had were a bed, a desk and a chair," Tom Cruise told Roger Ebert in 1986. "When I was making a movie, they put me in hotel rooms. Between jobs, I moved back into my apartment, and my lifestyle dropped considerably." Coming from an underprivileged childhood, Cruise quickly learned the value of hard work no matter one's net worth.  "It's a strange thing, being handed so much power," Cruise also related to Ebert.  "My point of view and my values haven't changed. Everybody wants to push and pull me, but I refuse to change my lifestyle."

Nonetheless, Cruise's lifestyle has changed on the surface at least. Given that he has no doubt ditched that scarcely decorated apartment for cushier digs since, let's explore just where and what type of home Cruise inhabits these days!

Tom Cruise's penthouse is cool — even for Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has called Florida his home base since 2018. Per Architectural Digest , Cruise fetched a pretty $55 million when he sold his Los Angeles and New York properties in 2016, moving into a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Clearwater, Florida. Planned by a wealthy Scientologist — Cruise is controversially tied to the religion — the 10-story SkyView condominium is one block from the Church of Scientology, per People . With Cruise reportedly close friends with church leader David Miscavige, a source told the outlet that the movie star was "very relaxed when he's here."

In addition to occupying the entire top two floors, according to AD, Cruise's pad packs amenities like a roof deck, a nearly 40-foot pool, a bar, and more. What sets the pad apart from other celebrity dig, however, is the passageway that leads to a private, smaller condo on the second floor (which houses a flight simulator, for one). Additionally, there is a nine-car garage and private car elevator (what a cool phrase to say). Now that's  on par with expectations for the "Mission Impossible" star.

Tom Cruise sold his vacation home in Colorado for millions

Although Clearwater, Florida, might be Tom Cruise's personal headquarters, he also owns property in West Sussex, England — for one. Per The Sun , the estate was purchased by Cruise in 2006 for a reported $4.2 million. Bearing the regal title of "Rede Place," the property is located in Dormans Park, East Grinstead, which is reportedly close to the British headquarters of the Church of Scientology. Boasting 14 acres of land and an 11,331-square-foot interior, per insider , the manor was constructed in 2003, meaning Cruise would likely be one of its very first owners.

Cruise parted ways with his longtime 320-acre Telluride, Colo. ranch, which was reportedly a vacation refuge frequented by Cruise with ex-wife Katie Holmes and his children. Putting the ranch on sale for $39.5 million in March, per Forbes , the home sold without a hitch two months later for the asking price . Ardent followers of Cruise's career might remember this was the shooting location for a follow-up to his infamous 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey , as noted by  Town & Country . However, Cruise's Telluride ranch's main draw, aside from being a ski haven known for its celebrity denizens, is the cozy seclusion it provides for the uber-famous. No wonder it sold so fast!

Tom Cruise moves his family into his luxury Scientology apartment block ‘to stop them leaving cult like Katie Holmes’

TOM Cruise has moved his family into his luxury Scientology building "to stop them leaving the cult like Katie Holmes".

The actor's three sisters Cass Capazorio, Lee Anne Gillotte and Marian Henry have all purchased apartments at The Skyview, Florida, property records show.

Tom Cruise has moved his three sisters into the luxury building and also bought two spare apartments, possibly earmarked for children Isabella and Connor

The Church dedicated condo is situated just yards away from its global headquarters in Clearwater.

They now live on the third, fourth and fifth floors, while their 57-year-old brother has got the eighth and ninth floor, two-story penthouse.

We can also reveal that Cruise has hoovered up two other apartments on the second and third floor respectively - no 201 and no 302 - which are under a trust name linked to his business manager Nancy Chapman.

These could be earmarked for his adopted children, Isabella and Connor.

Back in Spring, Bella was branded 'Scientology’s poster girl' after proclaiming in an advert for the London branch that it had 'saved her life'.

But that may not be enough to stop the 26-year-old from being hauled back to be nearer her father.

CRUISE CONTROL

Connor, 24, is currently living only a few hundred yards away at The Sandcastle - official Scientology accommodation - under the watchful eye of former member Katrina Reyes’s mother, Yelena, The Sandcastle’s manager.

Reyes believes this is a show of strength by Cruise to make sure that his children and extended family never stray from the Church like former wives Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes.

Cruise has reportedly not seen his daughter Suri, now 13, since her parents split in 2012.

She says: 'He’s moved them into the same building, so they’re available to him 24/7, and they have to receive Scientology services and courses and be onboard with the program.

'It’s all about control, if one person strays, the family can bring that person back in.

After he was burned with Katie and Nicole, it was like: “Right, let me make sure that everyone is onboard and no one goes behind my back again."

That was a big blow for Scientology. It was a betrayal.’

To make sure there’s complete Cruise control, according to business records, his sister Lee Anne - who used to be his agent for a short time in the noughties - has become part of the block’s management.

She is now treasurer of the ‘Skyview Condominium Association Inc’.

MISSION POSSIBLE

His other sister Cass is the director of a company called OT Academy, which appears to relate to running Scientology courses.

Her husband Greg is the head of Criminon, a program for rehabilitating prisoners using techniques designed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Realtor Marian has set up a company called Chmm LLC, with her son Cal and daughter-in-law Marjorye, both Scientologists.

More bizarrely, Cruise's friend, the Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie and his wife Heather, are registered to an apartment on the seventh floor, according to voter records.

There’s no suggestion McQuarrie has ever been a Scientologist, but he’s known to be flexible to Cruise’s demanding religion.

Yet the film director is not the only prominent face in the condo.

We can reveal that Cruise’s block is teeming with the world’s richest Scientologists.

Billionaire biopharmaceutical entrepreneur Bob Duggan, who’s given $360 million to the Church, is registered to an apartment, which takes over the entire sixth floor.

On the fourth floor is Scientologist Adi Arezzini.

She is the founder of Teami Blends, a controversial detox drink, which has been promoted on Instagram by the likes of Kylie Jenner, Cardi B and Sarah Palin, but experts say is unregulated and contains laxatives.

Let’s Take a Peek Inside Tom Cruise’s Property Portfolio

At long last, “Top Gun: Maverick” is set to land in theaters at the end of May. A-lister Tom Cruise will step back into the cockpit and reprise his role as test pilot Maverick.

Now 59, the seemingly ageless performer has been box-office gold since the 1980s. His hits include “Cocktail,” “Jerry McGuire,” and “A Few Good Men.” The father of three also starred in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, the latest of which is the upcoming “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.”

With the superstar set to take off on the big screen, we thought we’d take a spin through the actor’s real estate.

Along with starring in blockbusters over the decades, the “Mission: Impossible” star has been busy when it comes to pricey real estate. In many cases, the paparazzi-averse Cruise tends to buy up multiple lots in extremely private locales.

So don your aviators, and let’s head into the “property zone.”

Clearwater condos

The star’s latest “mission”: a move to a giant spread in Clearwater, FL . He dropped $9,580,500 on a 20,826-square-foot, two-level penthouse in 2017. It’s located in the Skyview tower , which was reportedly altered to accommodate Cruise, according to the Tampa Bay Times .

The actor’s lavish living quarters include four bedrooms, a gym, game room, home theater, roof deck with an infinity pool, hot tub, gardens, and a bar, according to the Times.

The penthouse boasts a private garage with a car elevator on the second floor. That level also apparently includes a flight simulator. (Perhaps Cruise could get in some practice for his “Top Gun” role?) There’s also office space and a sports storage area.

Cruise paid an additional $1,475,000 for three more condos in the Clearwater high-rise, perhaps for staff or relatives.

The building, developed by fellow Scientologist Moises Agami , is located just blocks from the Church of Scientology headquarters. Cruise has been a member of the church since 1986.

Terrific in Telluride

More recently, the “Risky Business” actor took care of a piece of business in the Rocky Mountain region. He sold his longtime Telluride, CO, ranch for a whopping $39.5 million.

Cruise had held on to the 320-acre mountain retreat for decades, before trying to quietly sell it for $59 million in 2014. It was relisted in March 2021 for $39.5 million and quickly sold.

Cruise spent years amassing the land, then built a 10,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in 1994.

The picturesque home was the setting for a photo shoot with Vanity Fair magazine featuring his daughter Suri  with his then-wife Katie Holmes . Oprah Winfrey also interviewed Cruise at the home in 2008.

The main house includes a chef’s kitchen, fitness center, rec room, den, office suite, two fireplaces, and multiple terraces. There’s also a three-bedroom guest lodge.

Though secluded, the retreat is just minutes to Telluride and a two-hour private jet flight from L.A.

Lavish in Los Angeles

Before decamping to the Sunshine State, the busy actor let go of his holdings in La-La land.

In 2016, Cruise sold the Beverly Hills compound he had shared with  Holmes . The 1.2-acre spread changed hands for a startling $38 million. He had paid $30.5 million in 2007.

The compound included a 10,000-square-foot mansion with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a pair of guesthouses.

That sale came almost a year after he sold his Hollywood Hills compound to  Eva Longoria for $11.4 million.

Initially listed for $13 million, that property featured two adjoining houses built in 2005 on an ultraprivate 2.75-acre lot. The compound consists of a three-bedroom French villa, a four-bedroom guesthouse, two standalone studios, and a quaint stone cottage.

Crash pad in New York City

Cruise sold his longtime East Village loft in the American Felt Building for $3 million in 2013. He had picked up the pied-à-terre in 1984, following his starring role in “Risky Business.”

The two-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot unit is said to contain a state-of-the-art gym. It’s located on the 10th floor of the 12-floor building.

Cruise reportedly shared the condo with all three of his ex-wives, including Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman . The building housed other notable residents, including author Bret Easton Ellis and the Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti , the Real Deal reported at the time of the sale. Cruise’s loft was sold in an off-market deal.

Tom Cruise invites us inside this posh penthouse in Florida

Tom Cruise isn't slowing down anytime soon. The 56-year-old star of Mission: Impossible 6 — Fallout star continues to push himself to the limits by performing the most daring stunts in his films. In Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise scaled Dubai's Burj Khalifa, while in Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation, he held on for dear life on the side of a plane as it took off. But for his latest mission as senior field operations agent for the Impossible Mission Force (IMF), Ethan Hunt, Tom Cruise has solidified his high-octane action star credentials by embarking on one of the biggest stunts of his career — jumping out of a plane 25,000 feet in the air while plummeting to the ground at 200 miles per hour. To get the scene right, Tom Cruise performed the stunt an awe-inspiring 106 times — that's some commitment to the role!

Tom Cruise: Real Estate Portfolio

When Cruise isn't performing death-defying stunts, he snaps up prime real estate. He has lived in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Telluride, Colorado, and owns a country home in the UK (not surprisingly, located near Britain's Scientology HQ), as well as properties in New York. The Jerry Maguire star recently purchased a two-storey penthouse in downtown Clearwater, Florida—close to the Scientology HQ. Tom Cruise, a devout follower of Scientology, has been effectively 'homeless' since he put his homes in California and New York on the market—earning GBP 41.5million ($55 million) in the process. However, it is believed that Cruise is living in a luxury accommodation within the Scientology Church's grounds in the coastal Florida town.

The penthouse also comes with a passageway leading to a secret smaller condo on the second floor, which features a flight simulator, office, and gym. Tom Cruise's new pad also comes with a nine-car parking space and a private car elevator. And while most buildings owned by the Church of Scientology are generically nice and slightly dated, Tom Cruise's home is contemporary and chic

“I love what I do. I take great pride in what I do. And I can’t do something halfway, three-quarters, nine-tenths. If I’m going to do something, I go all the way.”

Guess who made this statement.

If your answer is Tom Cruise, you have guessed it right.

Tom Cruise is one of the world’s most famous personalities and is known for his iconic roles. With a reported net worth of $600 million, the Hollywood actor and Scientologist is also one of the richest stars in the world. Over the years, Tom Cruise has built up a splendid real estate portfolio. From Beverly Hills to a country house in the UK , in this article, we look into his impressive portfolio, which includes Tom Cruise houses that he once owned and sold subsequently. Read on to know more.

1. Hollywood Hills Mansion

Constructed in 2004, this property, pervaded by a retro charm, was inspired by the country estates found in Tuscany, Italy. Located along Mulholland Drive, this mansion lies in the core of a splendid 2.5-acre estate overlooking the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Hills. The entire estate was redesigned, likely by Tom Cruise, in 2006 and features wide-plank wood floors and Venetian plaster walls. The property boasts three en suite bedrooms and comes with brightly illumined living spaces with vaulted ceilings and European-styled decor. There seem to be other interesting elements, including an attractive chef’s kitchen, alfresco dining terraces, and a three-acre garden with a lagoon-style pool. Moreover, the extensive use of glass windows permits a sweeping 180- degree view across Los Angeles. This property also has a self-contained, four-bedroom guesthouse. This former property of Tom Cruise was priced at a hefty $13 million.

2. Beverly Hills Mansion

Constructed in 1937, Tom Cruise owned this mansion for almost a decade. The estate boasts seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Moreover, it offers a sprawling 10,286 square feet of luxurious living space and also comes with it a backyard and a large swimming pool. It also features a tennis court, a children’s playground , and guesthouses. The secluded nature of the mansion offers much privacy away from the limelight. The Hollywood star sold his Beverly Hills mansion for USD 40 million. This was the second home in Los Angeles that he sold in less than a year after he sold his Hollywood Hills estate for USD 11.4 million. Tom Cruise bought the house for USD 32.5 million in 2007 and originally put the house on the market for USD 45 million.

3. Tom Cruise’s Secluded Ranch, Colorado

Tom Cruise’s vacation home in Colorado hit the market for $39.5 million in March 2021. The place brags a perfect hiking spot and is fully covered by rolling mountains all around. It has splendid mountain views that are enjoyed from the balcony and the patios of the property. Stretching across a massive 320 acres, Tom cruise bought this Colorado plot in the early 1990s. This 10,000 square feet property boasts vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, and magnificent alpine views. The interiors seamlessly reflect neutral colour tones and have cedar timbers along with native stones. The mansion possesses a large-sized dining space that includes the dining area of both the main and guest house. Other amenities in the property include a fitness center, a state-of-the-art security system, a snowmelt system, a wet bar, and underfloor heating. Moreover, there is a separate three-bedroom lodge in addition to the main residence.

4. Tom Cruise’s English Estate, West Sussex, UK

Called Rede place, Tom Cruise spent $4.2 million on this magnificent country estate in West Sussex. Sprawling over 14 acres of land, the country mansion has an interior area of 11,331-square feet. The property was built in 2003 which likely makes Tom Cruise one of its first owners. Despite its age, what we see here in this property reflects fascinating architectural features. It has a total of eight bedrooms and five bathrooms, divided between the main house and a separate, self-contained guest pavilion. The interior of the mansion is bright and dramatic and seamlessly blends modern state-of-the-art elements and traditional architectural elements.

The basement level consists of a movie theatre , games room, and dance studio with a sprung floor. There are many living rooms and a light-filled kitchen that opens into a garden. A grand master suite with a private sitting room can be found on the top floor. The mansion lies well protected behind electric security gates and is equipped with CCTV. Other features include manicured gardens, a swimming pool, hot tub, and tennis court.

Tom Cruise with the Lumiere Award for Best Scene or Sequence for "Mission Impossible: Fallout" attends 10th Annual Lumiere Awards at Warner Bros. Studios on January 30, 2019 in Burbank, California.

Happy birthday, Tom Cruise !

The famous actor was born Thomas Cruise Mapother IV in Syracuse , N.Y. on July 3, 1962, just one day shy of being "Born on the Fourth of July." He and three sisters were born to Thomas Mapother III, an electrical engineer who died in 1984, and Mary Lee Pfeiffer , a special education teacher who died in 2017.

The Mapother (rhymes with "may bother") family didn't stay in Central New York long, moving around a lot when Cruise was a child. His parents divorced in 1975, and he stayed with his mother and sisters, living in places like Ottawa and Cincinnati before eventually graduating high school in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

Cruise made his acting debut in 1981 with "Endless Love" and "Taps," eventually becoming one of the biggest movie stars of all time, bringing in more than $10 billion at the global box office. Nominated for three Oscars, his credits include "Mission: Impossible," "Top Gun," "Jerry Maguire," "Minority Report," "Rain Man" and "Jack Reacher." He was also named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1990 and remains popular in celebrity magazines, thanks to his many high-profile relationships and controversial religious beliefs.

But how much more do you really know? Here are 10 wild facts about the man who's played everyone from Frank "T.J." Mackey and Cole Trickle to Joel Goodsen and Les Grossman:

1. Tom Cruise nearly became a Catholic priest.

Cruise is said to have been baptized Catholic at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Liverpool, N.Y., and originally planned to become a priest before finding success as an actor. He attended a Franciscan seminary school at age 14 in Cincinnati, but a classmate says "Tommy" was asked to leave for stealing booze in 1976.

( E! News reports Cruise later downplayed the idea that he chose the school to pursue the priesthood. "We didn't have the money back then, and I went for the education for a year, and it was free," he once said.)

But it's there that Cruise reportedly fell in love with acting at the school's drama club, 15 years before his big screen debut in "Endless Love." Cruise later became a Scientologist after his first wife, Mimi Rodgers, introduced him to the religion that he once claimed helped cure him of his dyslexia.

Actor Tom Cruise and mother Mary Lee Mapother arrive at the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 11, 2009 in Beverly Hills, California.

2. Cruise's ancestors include Irish knights.

The actor received a certificate of Irish heritage from Ireland's government in 2013 after genealogists traced his family tree back 840 years to Anglo-Normans who invaded Ireland between 1169 and 1176. His ancestry reportedly includes barons, knights, rebels and "hero landlord" Patrick Russell Cruise. (Yes, "Cruise" is a real family name.)

Amazingly, the actor has never played a knight (his name wasn't even Knight in "Knight and Day"), though he has played a current or former soldier in 8 different movies: "Taps," "Top Gun," "Born on the Fourth of July," "A Few Good Men," "The Last Samurai," "Valkyrie," "Jack Reacher" and "Edge of Tomorrow."

3. Did Cruise turn down Iron Man?

Cruise was long rumored to have turned down the superhero role that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Iron Man. Cruise told ComicBook.com in 2018 that he was "not close" to actually playing Tony Stark, though. "Not close, and I love Robert Downey Jr. I can't imagine anyone else in that role, and I think it's perfect for him," he said.

4. He almost starred in "The Matrix" and "Enemy of the State."

It's hard to imagine anyone but Keanu Reeves as "the one," but IMDb reports Nicolas Cage, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cruise were all considered for the lead role of Neo in the Wachowskis' 1999 sci-fi film. A year before that, Cruise was supposed to star in "Enemy of the State," but his scheduling conflicts with "Eyes Wide Shut" forced him out and the part eventually went to Will Smith.

5. Cruise is nearly a foot shorter than the "Jack Reacher" character.

Cruise has played Jack Reacher in two movies based on the books by author Lee Child, despite the actor being 10 inches shorter than the character's description of 6'5" and 220-plus pounds.

"I completely agree that he, you know, doesn't look like Reacher in the book, so he knows that, too," Child told syracuse.com . "And I completely understand readers who are passionately involved with this series of books are very, very suspicious about it and about the translation to the screen. I understand that and in fact I take it as a huge compliment that people care so much."

"But the issue was, if not Tom Cruise, who else? It wasn't like we were walking past a mass rank of giant actors in order to choose Tom Cruise. You know, there aren't any giant actors. It seems to be a fact of life that all actors are pretty compact human beings. And so there's nobody, really, who would've done it better, so we decided to forget about the external physicality of Jack Reacher and instead try to capture the internals, the intangibles. And I think Cruise -- because whatever else Cruise is in terms of a superstar and celebrity and all that kind of stuff, he is also technically a very fine actor -- and so he was able to capture the inside of Reacher perfectly, I thought."

6. Cruise almost became paralyzed for "Born on the Fourth of July"

E! News reports Andrew Morton's 2008 Tom Cruise biography detailed how director Oliver Stone wanted the actor to be injected with a chemical to make him temporarily paralyzed to play real-life Vietnam War veteran and activist Ron Kovic in "Born on the Fourth of July." The insurance company shut down the risky idea (for obvious reasons), but Cruise still went on to win a Golden Globe for his acting performance and Stone won an Academy Award for best director.

7. Cruise's ex-wives are all 11 years apart in age.

Mimi Rogers was born in 1956, Nicole Kidman was born in 1967 and Katie Holmes was born in 1978. Cruise has been previously romantically linked with everyone from Rebecca De Mornay and Cher to his "Vanilla Sky" co-star Penelope Cruz, but is reportedly single now (until he meets the right lady who was born in 1989). He has two adopted children with Kidman -- Isabella and Connor -- and a 13-year-old daughter, Suri, with Holmes.

Side note: Have you ever noticed Suri Cruise sounds like "Syracuse?"

8. Cruise almost played Spider-Man.

Cruise was also almost in the recent Oscar-winning animated film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." Filmmakers Rodney Rothman, Bob Persichetti and Pete Ramsey explained on the Digital and DVD releases that they originally planned to create a movie within the movie, directed by James Cameron and starring Cruise as Spidey, as a nod to past film versions of the web-slinging superhero that never happened. Cameron previously wrote a 47-page script/treatment for a film version of "Spider-Man" in the '90s before Sam Raimi took over the franchise (with Tobey Maguire in the Peter Parker role), and Cruise was once in line to play Spider-Man in the '80s (for a movie that never happened), so it would've been a super-geeky easter egg for longtime fans of the character.

9. Cruise sends Dakota Fanning a birthday gift every year.

According to E! News, Cruise has sent a birthday gift to actress Dakota Fanning every year since he played her father in 2005's "War of the Worlds." "I haven't seen him in awhile, but he has sent me a birthday gift every year since I was 11 years old," she told "Watch What Happens Live" in 2016. "Beautiful gifts, it's really kind. I always think, 'Oh, when I'm 18, he'll probably stop. Oh, 21, he'll stop. But every year... It's usually shoes."

10. Aladdin modeled after Tom Cruise?

Disney recently released a live-action remake of "Aladdin," starring Will Smith as the blue Genie, but the 1992 animated film's hero actually resembled Tom Cruise -- on purpose. "There's a confidence with all of his attitudes and his poses," lead animator Glen Keane said in a DVD extras interview.

11. He really does his own stunts.

That's really Cruise dangling 1,700 feet off the ground in Dubai, climbing the 123-story Burj Khalifa to get to a computer server in 2011's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." And hanging off the side of a plane in mid-air for 2015's "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation," reaching heights of 5,000 feet. And riding motorcycles for chase scenes in "Knight and Day" and "Mission: Impossible - Fallout." And tumbling around in zero gravity for a plane crash in 2017's "The Mummy." And free-climbing in 2000's "Mission: Impossible II." And... you get the idea.

Part of it is his dedication to intense training, such as learning how to hold his breath for over six minutes underwater in "Rogue Nation," swordfighting in "The Last Samurai" and even playing pool 12 hours a day for a role in "The Color of Money." Part of it is about entertaining the audiences at any cost, including his own health -- he broke an ankle filming a stunt for "Mission: Impossible 6," threw out his back making Ridley Scott's "Legend" in 1985, and tore his labrum while scaling a cliff for Mission: Impossible II."

Upcoming movies

At 57 years old, Cruise is still going strong as an action star. His upcoming movies include a "Top Gun" sequel ("Top Gun: Maverick") in 2020 and two more "Mission: Impossible" films in 2021 and 2022.

Oh yeah, and maybe he'll fight Justin Bieber .

Who Is Tom Cruise?

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known as Tom Cruise, was born on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, to Mary and Thomas Mapother. Cruise's mother was an amateur actress and schoolteacher, and his father was an electrical engineer. His family moved around a great deal when Cruise was a child to accommodate his father's career.

Cruise's parents divorced when he was 11, and the children moved with their mother to Louisville, Kentucky, and then to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, after she remarried. Like his mother and three sisters, Cruise suffered from dyslexia, which made academic success difficult for him. He excelled in athletics, however, and considered pursuing a career in professional wrestling until a knee injury sidelined him during high school.

At age 14, Cruise enrolled in a Franciscan seminary with thoughts of becoming a priest, but he left after a year. When he was 16, a teacher encouraged him to participate in the school's production of the musical Guys and Dolls . After Cruise won the lead of Nathan Detroit, he found himself surprisingly at home on the stage, and a career was born.

'Taps,' 'The Outsiders'

Cruise set a 10-year deadline for himself in which to build an acting career. He left school and moved to New York City, struggling through audition after audition before landing an appearance in 1981's Endless Love , starring Brooke Shields. Around this same time, he snagged a small role in the military school drama Taps (1981), co-starring Sean Penn .

His role in Taps was upgraded after director Harold Becker saw Cruise's potential, and his performance caught the attention of a number of critics and filmmakers. In 1983, Cruise appeared in Francis Ford Coppola 's The Outsiders , which also starred Emilio Estevez , Matt Dillon and Rob Lowe —all prominent members of a group of young actors the entertainment press dubbed the "Brat Pack." The film was not well received, but it allowed Cruise to work with an acclaimed director on a high-profile project.

'Risky Business'

His next film, Risky Business (1983), grossed $65 million. It also made Cruise a highly recognizable actor — thanks in no small part to a memorable scene of the young star dancing in his underwear.

In 1986, after a two-year hiatus, the budding actor released the big-budget fantasy film Legend , which did poorly at the box office. That same year, however, Cruise's A-list status was confirmed with the release of Top Gun , which co-starred Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards and Meg Ryan . The testosterone-fueled action-romance, set against the backdrop of an elite naval flight school, became the highest-grossing film of 1986.

'The Color of Money,' 'Rain Man' and 'Born on the Fourth of July'

Cruise followed the tremendous success of Top Gun with a string of both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. He first starred in The Color of Money (1986) with co-star Paul Newman , and then went on to work with Dustin Hoffman on Rain Man (1988). Cruise's next role, as Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic in the biopic Born on the Fourth of July (1989), earned him an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'A Few Good Men,' 'The Firm' and 'Interview with a Vampire'

In 1992, Cruise proved once more that he could hold his own opposite a screen legend when he co-starred with Jack Nicholson in the military courtroom drama A Few Good Men . The film grossed more than $15 million its first weekend and earned Cruise a Golden Globe nomination. He continued to demonstrate his success as a leading man with The Firm (1993) and Interview with a Vampire (1994), which co-starred Brad Pitt.

'Mission: Impossible,' 'Jerry McGuire'

Next, Cruise hit the big screen with two huge hits—the $64 million blockbuster Mission: Impossible (1996), which the star also produced, and the highly acclaimed Jerry McGuire (1996), directed by Cameron Crowe. For the latter, Cruise earned a second Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'Eyes Wide Shut,' 'Magnolia'

Cruise and then-wife Kidman spent much of 1997 and 1998 in England shooting Eyes Wide Shut , an erotic thriller that would be director Stanley Kubrick 's final film. The movie came out in the summer of 1999 to mixed reviews, but that year Cruise enjoyed greater success with the release of Magnolia . His performance as a self-confident sex guru in the ensemble film earned him another Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

'Vanilla Sky,' 'The Last Samurai'

Cruise then starred in the long-awaited smash hit Mission: Impossible 2 in 2000, alongside Anthony Hopkins , Thandie Newton and Ving Rhames. In 2002, he starred in Vanilla Sky , his second collaboration with Crowe, as well as Steven Spielberg 's Minority Report . The following year, Cruise traveled to Australia to shoot the $100 million war epic The Last Samurai, which earned him another Golden Globe nomination.

'War of the Worlds'

Cruise proved he remained a top draw by starring in the Spielberg-directed remake of the science-fiction classic War of the Worlds (2005), which grossed more than $230 million at the box office.

His next effort, Mission: Impossible 3 (2006), also scored well with audiences. However, Cruise was faced with a professional setback in August when Paramount Pictures ended its 14-year relationship with the actor. The company's chairman cited Cruise's erratic behavior and controversial views as the reason for the split, though industry experts noted that Paramount more likely ended the partnership over Cruise's high earnings from the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Cruise quickly rebounded and on November 2, 2006, he announced his new partnership with film executive Paula Wagner and the United Artists film studio. Their first production as a team, the political drama Lions for Lambs (2007), proved a commercial disappointment despite a strong cast that included Meryl Streep and Robert Redford .

'Tropic Thunder'

Taking a break from weighty material, Cruise delighted audiences with his performance in the comedy Tropic Thunder (2008). Despite his relatively small role in a movie that featured Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller , Cruise stood out by obscuring his trademark good looks to play a balding, obese movie studio executive.

'Valkyrie,' 'Rock of Ages'

In December 2008, Cruise released his second project through United Artists. The film, Valkyrie , was a World War II drama about a plot to assassinate German leader Adolf Hitler . Cruise starred as a German army officer who became involved in the conspiracy.

Cruise returned to one of his most popular franchises in 2011 with Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol . Breaking into new territory, he then starred in the 2012 musical Rock of Ages . Although Cruise received some positive reviews for his performance as a rock star, the movie failed to attract much of an audience.

'Jack Reacher,' 'Edge of Tomorrow'

Returning to his mainstream action roots, Cruise starred in the 2012 crime drama Jack Reacher , based on a book by Lee Child. He then headlined a pair of science-fiction adventures, Oblivion (2013) and Edge of Tomorrow (2014). Showing no signs of slowing down, the veteran actor in 2015 delivered his usual high-energy performance for the fifth installment of his blockbuster franchise, Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation .

Latest Movies and Familiar Franchises

In 2016, Cruise reprised the role of Jack Reacher for Never Go Back . He then headlined a reboot of The Mummy (2017), which performed respectably at the box office but was savaged by critics, before earning better reviews later that year for the crime thriller American Made .

2018 brought a return to familiar territory for Cruise, who starred in Mission Impossible —Fallout that summer. Prior to its release, he tweeted a photo to mark day 1 of production on the long-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick , scheduled for a June 2020 release.

Scientology and Personal Life

Cruise married actress Mimi Rogers in 1987. It was through Rogers that the actor became a student of Scientology, the religion founded by writer L. Ron Hubbard. Cruise credited the church with curing his dyslexia, and he soon became one of its leading proponents. However, while his spiritual life flourished, his marriage to Rogers ended in 1990. That same year, Cruise made the racecar drama Days of Thunder alongside Kidman. Though the movie was unpopular among critics and fans alike, the two lead actors had real chemistry. On Christmas Eve 1990, after a brief courtship, Cruise and Kidman married in Telluride, Colorado.

Divorce from Kidman

For much of the 1990s, Cruise and Kidman found themselves fiercely defending the happiness and legitimacy of their marriage. They filed two different lawsuits against tabloid publications for stories they considered libelous. In each case, the couple received a published retraction and apology, along with a large monetary settlement which they donated to charity. The couple has two children, Isabella and Connor.

On February 5, 2001, Cruise and Kidman announced their separation after 11 years of marriage. The couple cited the difficulties involved with two acting careers and the amount of time spent apart while working. Following the divorce, Cruise briefly dated his Vanilla Sky co-star Penelope Cruz , followed by a much-publicized relationship with actress Katie Holmes. A month after his ties to Holmes became public, Cruise professed his love for the actress in a now-famous appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, during which he jumped on Winfrey's sofa, shouting "Yes!"

Marriage to Katie Holmes

In June 2005, after a two-month courtship, Cruise proposed to Holmes in a restaurant at the top of the Eiffel tower. In October, they announced that they were expecting their first child together. The hasty proposal and surprise pregnancy quickly became tabloid gossip. But Cruise made even bigger headlines that year as an outspoken advocate for Scientology. He openly criticized former co-star Brooke Shields for using anti-depressants during her recovery from postpartum depression. He also denounced psychiatry and modern medicine, claiming Scientology held the key to true healing. Cruise's statements led to a heated argument with news anchor Matt Lauer on The Today Show in June 2005, for which Cruise later apologized.

In 2006, Cruise and Holmes welcomed daughter Suri into the world. That year, they were married in an Italian castle, with celebrities Will Smith , Jada Pinkett Smith , Jennifer Lopez and Victoria and David Beckham among those in attendance. However, the storybook romance wouldn't last, and in June 2012, the couple announced their separation.

Tom Cruise's Mother, Mary Lee South, Dies

Mary Lee South, 80, died peacefully in her sleep last week, say sources

Mary Lee South, the mother of Tom Cruise , has died, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

South, 80, died peacefully in her sleep last week. South, who coped with health issues in recent years, was given a memorial service at her local Church of Scientology this weekend.

The 54-year-old star and his sisters Lee Ann DeVette, 57, Cass Mapother, 55, and Marian Henry, 52, all attended the memorial along with other family and friends.

Born Mary Lee Pfeiffer, the Louisville, Kentucky, native was a special-education teacher when she wed Cruise’s father, Thomas Cruise Mapother III, an electrical engineer. It was from her that Cruise developed a passion for acting.

“I was always interested in theater, but I never did anything with it,” she told Rolling Stone in 1986. “When I was growing up, if you went to Hollywood, that was really risqué.”

The family lived in Syracuse, New York, where Cruise was born, and Ottawa, Canada. When Cruise was young, his mother encouraged him to participate in a local theater group. “I guess I was his greatest audience,” she said. “He had it in him then.” But Cruise’s love of sports took precedence as he grew up.

Her marriage to Mapother was tumultuous. Cruise told PEOPLE in 2006 that his father was “a bully.” Mary Lee ended the marriage in 1974.

She returned to the United States, and worked a series of jobs to keep her family out of poverty. Cruise helped with money from a paper route. He even massaged his mother’s sore feet after she came home from long days at work.

That close relationship continued when the family relocated to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and Mary Lee wed Jack South in 1978, when Cruise was 16. “He loved my mother so much that he took us all in, all four young people,” Cruise later recalled.

After a knee injury sidelined her son’s varsity wrestling career, Mary Lee encouraged him to try out for a high school production of Guys and Dolls . After the play, Cruise surprised his mother by asking if he could have 10 years to give show business a try. She approved, and with her support, he waited tables in New York City before breaking into the movies.

The close mother-son relationship continued as he became a box-office star.

As for South, she never doubted her son would be a success. When Cruise asked her and her second husband if he could be an actor, “We both wholeheartedly agreed,” she told Rolling Stone . “Because we both felt it was a God-given talent … So to make a long story short, we gave him our blessing — and the rest is history.”

Actor Tom Cruise Found ‘a Place to Call Home’ in London: He Has a ‘Sense of Belonging’

Life across the pond!  Tom Cruise  has found “a place to call home” in London, where he has been residing while filming the new  Mission: Impossible 7  movie, an insider exclusively tells  In Touch .

“Tom loves the rainy weather, the people, taking long walks in the city,” says the insider about the U.K. city, while noting the Hollywood A-lister, 58, “wants a simpler life” as he gets older. “He’s never had a place to call home before, not really, but he’s finally found that in London.”

The  Risky Business  actor loves the “sense of normalcy” he has in the home of Big Ben, which has “been missing from his life for a long time,” explains the insider.

“If he wears a hat and mask, he can slip into bookstores or antique shops and no one knows it’s him,” the insider continues. “He’s got family living there, too, which gives him a sense of belonging.”

Tom Cruise's Life in London: He 'Loves' the City With Simon Pegg

The  Top Gun  actor has gotten very close with his cast and crew over the months. He’s especially grateful for costar  Simon Pegg , who gave Tom an “insider’s list of must-see places in and around London.” The insider gushes, “Tom just loves that kind of stuff.”

While the  Jerry Maguire  star has been enjoying his time overseas, the  Mission: Impossible  set received a lot of attention in December when the  Jack Reacher  actor was caught on tape screaming at his crew members over obeying COVID-19 protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m on the phone with every f—king studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies,” Tom told the crew on the set, according to Reuters . The outlet reported at the time, “a source close to the production said the tape was authentic.”

“Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason,” Tom continued in the recording. “And if you can’t be reasonable, and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired.”

Tom seems to enjoy living a more low-key life these days. His ex-wife  Katie Holmes  opened up about the difficulties that followed their high-profile divorce in 2012 .

“That time was intense. It was a lot of attention,” she admitted during an interview with  InStyle  in March. “Obviously, as a public person, I’ve gotten a lot of attention at different periods in my life. And when you have a lot of attention, sometimes you don’t want to leave the house because it’s just too much.”

Time will tell if Tom stays in London long-term!

Tom Cruise is one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood. From his iconic role in Top Gun, to acting parts in Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher - the American actor is never far from the big screen.

While he is known across the globe, many people may not realise that the 59-year-old has strong links to East Grinstead . He just can't seem to stay away.

But why is the superstar actor so fascinated with the West Sussex town? We've done some digging into Tom Cruise's links to the county and this is what we found.

Tom Cruise's links to East Grinstead

Back in 2006, the American actor forked out around £3 million on an enormous house in East Grinstead, measuring 11,000 square feet. Since then, he's been pictured in the county on many occasions, and it is believed he even spent the first national lockdown in the West Sussex town.

Some may wonder why the film star chose to spend part of his life there, but it holds great significance for the famous Scientologist. Scientology's headquarters, Saint Hill, are located in East Grinstead - the religious movement followed by Cruise and numerous other A-list actors.

The Church of Scientology's is going to have to fork out a huge sum of money for a new sewage system at their UK headquarters

After selling his house in 2016, he returned to the town last summer. During the first national lockdown, the actor was believed to be staying in a wing of the headquarters.

Saint Hill had a multi-million pound renovation in 2016, which includes a new Michelin-starred chef and luxury accommodation. Cruise's former mansion continued to attract famous residents, with singer Peter Andre taking the property off his hands for around £5 million.

The six-bedroom property is more than eight times higher than the average house price in East Grinstead - but it features a cinema room as well as a gym, outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court.

Has Tom Cruise visited other parts of Sussex?

In July last year the producer was spotted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021. He was seen enjoying the event and was pictured alongside the Duke of Richmond at the festival's final day.

This wasn't the first time he'd attended the racing event. He made an appearance in 2014 on Ladies' Day, where he was photographed with supermodel Edie Campbell and Theo Fennell.

However, Cruise wasn't able to stick around in Chichester for too long last year. He was spotted just hours later waving to fans at Wimbledon, London.

Tom Cruise waves to fans as he watches the Gentlemen's Singles Final between Matteo Berrettini and Novak Djokovic on centre court on day thirteen of Wimbledon at The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon.

He watched Serbian Novak Djokovic win his sixth men's title against Italian Matteo Berrettini. His socialising didn't stop there, though, because he was later seen at Wembley sat beside David Beckham cheering on England in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.

The star was seen celebrating Luke Shaw's goal in the first two minutes.

What does Tom Cruise think of England?

When approached at the last Jack Reacher premiere, he said that England "is a really great place to live". In 2020, sources told The Sunday Mirror that Cruise was looking into buying a home in Britain.

A source said: "Tom is active more than ever in the organisation. His role is getting bigger and bigger. He wants to move to the UK permanently and has been looking at properties around Saint Hill Manor so he can be on hand and close by."

30 Years Ago Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman Adopted Two Kids- This is What They Look Like Today

I n the realm of Hollywood, where fame often casts a glaring spotlight on every aspect of one’s life, there exist enigmatic figures who navigate the shadows with quiet grace. Among them are Isabella and Connor Cruise , the adoptive children of legendary actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Since their parents parted ways in 2001, the siblings have largely eluded the public eye, cultivating a mysterious aura around their lives.

Cruise and Kidman, whose union captivated fans worldwide, embarked on their journey into parenthood through adoption. Isabella, fondly known as Bella, entered their lives two years after their marriage, filling a void left by a heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy experienced by Kidman. The family grew again in 1995 with the adoption of Connor, cementing their bond through shared love and commitment.

Despite their challenges, Cruise and Kidman remained dedicated to their craft and family. Their professional collaboration on the set of “Eyes Wide Shut” in 1999 served as a testament to their enduring connection, with Kidman recalling moments of joy amidst the demanding shoot. However, the idyllic facade shattered in 2001 when Cruise filed for divorce, marking the end of an era for the once inseparable couple.

Tom Cruise's adopted children were suddenly faced with an incredible challenge

In the aftermath of their split, Tom Cruise's adopted children found themselves navigating a new reality. Divided between their parents’ residences on opposite sides of the globe. As Cruise embarked on a new chapter with Katie Holmes, their children adapted to the dynamics of a blended family, forging bonds with their stepmother and half-sibling.

Despite their physical distance from Kidman, Isabella expressed affection for her mother in rare public statements. Affirming the enduring ties that bind their family together. However, significant family events, such as Isabella’s wedding in 2015, unfolded without the presence of her famous parents, underscoring the complexities of their relationship dynamics.

Where are they today?

Today, Bella Kidman Cruise remains a largely private figure, opting to keep her life out of the public eye. While details about her current endeavors are scarce, it’s known that she has pursued interests in art and fashion. Bella has occasionally shared glimpses of her artwork on social media platforms, showcasing her talent and creative expression.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, she appears to maintain a low-profile lifestyle, avoiding the trappings of celebrity culture. Despite her famous lineage, Bella seems content to carve her path on her terms. Away from the spotlight that often accompanies her family name. Her journey serves as a testament to her resilience and independence, forging her identity separate from the legacy of Hollywood fame.

Connor Cruise , much like his sister Bella, continues to lead a private life away from the glare of the public spotlight. While details about his current endeavors are limited, it’s known that he has dabbled in various creative pursuits. These include music and DJing, and fishing. Connor has occasionally shared snippets of his DJ performances on social media platforms, showcasing his passion for music and performance.

Beyond his artistic interests, he appears to maintain a low-key lifestyle, eschewing the trappings of celebrity culture. Despite being the son of two Hollywood icons, Connor seems to prefer anonymity. Focusing on his personal growth and pursuits outside of the spotlight. His journey reflects a desire for autonomy and authenticity, as he forges his path away from the shadow of his famous parents.
