Douro valley

The wineries visited were great about being informative about the wine process and certification for port as well as being fun and easy going. The wines were all delicious and the provided lunch was also great! Pedro, our tour guide was fantastic. He put up with our group very well, and managed to be informative while remaining fun. Pedro elevated the tour to make it one to definitively remember. Would recommend this tour to anyone going to the Porto region, and would highly recommend visiting the Douro valley region!

Exceptional day!!! TA used “efun tours” and our guide was the vivacious and humorous Rita Queli. Very knowledgeable too. Clean new van, two great wineries and pleasant short boat ride on the Douro. Rita knew all the great vistas and photo stops. She gave us recommendations for more to do in Porto to eat, drink and party. Great day for me, my wife and two 20’ish sons.

Andre was our driver and guide, he made our experience even better with the easy and fun way he shared information. The wineries were stunning with delicious tastings, we were never rushed so we had plenty of time to really enjoy ourselves. Thank you!

Wonderful experience, loved it, lunch was way too late in the day though, at 2.15pm. Should have been before the boat cruise really!

We did this tour with Hernan and we had a blast. He is incredibly knowledgeable and showed a different side to the Duoro Valley that other groups didn’t get to see. If you’re looking to book this tour, request to have Hernan as your guide - you won’t regret it.

This is my second time attending the tour and it is phenomenal my guide Sara kept the tour fun and was also very knowledgeable about the interesting facts about Porto and Douro valley . Will definitely go again!

Excellent day in the Douro Valley

The tour was simply put an excellent experience. Tiago was our guide, he was incredibly informative not only in wine but culture, history, food and the region in its entirety He also made the day fun & easily kept us engaged throughout. Highly recommend the tour, my only tip would be to do it early during your stay in Porto in order to make the most of the recommendations especially the restaurants . As we only had a day left we could not put it all into practice.

Our journey to Douro wine country in Portugal was simply incredible. From the moment we arrived at the Quinta, we were warmly greeted and immersed in the region's rich winemaking heritage. The tour of the vineyards was a sensory delight, and the wine tasting itself was exquisite. Each sip revealed the unique flavors of the Douro terroir, accompanied by delightful local delicacies. The captivating sights and cultural experiences, along with the scenic river cruises, added an extra layer of enchantment. Our Douro wine tasting experience was truly unforgettable.

Rui picked us up at the hotel, the Mercedes, he picked us up in was a little small but we managed, however the wineries we went to made up for any discomfort. We purchased wine at the first and learned more about the unusual grapes in Portugal. It was a beautiful day with a spectacular lunch!! At the Winery. Would go again1 Thanks.

My family and I had a wonderful experience. He took us to a new restaurant that just opened with an amazing view and got to try multiple wineries. Highly recommend for a private wine tour. Very customizable and comfortable transporation.

During our stay in Porto, we took a day trip with Douro Valley Wine Tours - DWT, specifically with Rui. We prefer to do these types of days privately, as to give us flexibility and to enjoy the day to the maximum - the way we want to. The day was fully organized and planned for us by Rui and his team. We were set to see 2 wineries, have a nice lunch, then enjoy a River cruise through the valley. The first stop included a tour of the vineyard and a nice tasting. We then went off to enjoy a great lunch. As we finished with our second tasting, the weather turned and we decided not to take the river cruise - again - the advantage of taking a private tour. Instead, Rui quickly changed courses and brought us to a third tasting where we enjoyed the wine the best of the day. Overall, because of the pre-planning and flexibility on the actual day (to avoid possible weather), our day was a success. I would definitely recommend both this tour and this company.

Rui was friendly and very accommodating. He’s managed to organize everything on a short notice. The vehicle is a bit outdated for the price we’ve paid for a private tour, however on balance it was a lovely experience

Incredible day when the Ricardo. Picked us up at our Airbnb. Nice ride to Duoro Valley. Nice small village stop for coffee the to private small vineyard. Wine tour of winery and then extensive tasting of wines and ports with great conversation and wine making history. Winery was tour was with owner of a family winery. Winery was I. The family for three generations. Then to another village for wine tasting and lunch with wonderful couple. Food, wine and conversation terrific. Highly recommend the tour!!

Ricardo Manuel was great. He explained everything in detail, answered all our questions, took time to show us around and offered great suggestions. He was wonderful all around. I highly recommend Ricardo Manuel for any Porto tour.

What a wine-derful day! The photos do not do this place any justice. Every place we stopped was a another postcard moment. Thank you Ricardo for the amazing day out! If you're looking fir a tour guide then you really shouldn't bother looking any further than Ricardo. He introduced us to places that were off the beaten track. Places that weren't overrun by tourists and were still occupied by locals. From the knowledge of the Douro Valley to the wine tastings to the points of interest I couldn't have hoped for a more fulfilling day. Thank you very much Ricardo. I will be sure to recommend you to any one wanting a true local experience.

We cannot say enough about what an incredible time we had with Ricardo! My two girl friends and I booked a day in the Douro Valley, hoping to simply see the valley and taste some wine, but our experience went well above and beyond. Just from the car ride to the valley, Ricardo was incredibly kind, fun, easygoing, and fit right in. Instead of taking us to the touristy part of the valley, he took us so the quaintest small town where we got an extensive wine tasting on a deck overlooking the entire valley.. simply gorgeous and serene. He knew everyone in the small town, and was exceptionally knowledgeable on the wine, history of the valley, harvesting, and Portugal culture too. Knew the answer to anything we asked! We then were true LOCALS by having a fun lunch in the town's "only" one room bar (complete with Ricardo the bartender!). And then off to a winery! Complete with a walk through the vineyards to it, a tour, and tasting looking out to the adorable winery. Even after the long day, Ricardo drove us down closer to the river for the ride home, so we could stop along the way and get the most beautiful pictures of the valley. He was so flexible to make the day about anything we wanted to do, see, or talk about. It was a truly memorable and exceptional day, one I never will forget and still talk about! Ricardo makes it a day to remember - don't hesitate a minute on taking advantage of the day he has in store for you!!!!

We had an extraordinary tour/hike of the Douro Valley with Ricardo. The tour had everything: an extensive Douro Valley wine tasting, hiking up, down and through lush vineyards, breathtaking views, and beers at a local cafe where vineyard workers hang out. Ricardo's extensive knowledge of the area, its landscape and seasonality, the wine making process - and his sense of humor - made for an amazing Douro Valley tour. Highly recommmend!

Ricardo knows the history culture and winemaking of the Douro Valley and Porto intimately from lifelong first had experience. He’s more than happy to share his world with you with warmth and generosity. More than that , it’s a party. Highly recommended.
