There are some non-halal and halal restaurants there. Chin Swee Cave Temple was built by the late Lim Goh Tong, founder of the Genting Group (basically the guy who built Genting Highlands). This temple is built on a highland and shrouded by clouds. Besides being a  place of worship , it is also a beautiful tourist attraction.
Some of the most interesting attractions of this temple are the Giant Buddha Statue, Nine-Storey Pagoda, Guan Yin Statue, 10 Chambers of Hell, Sky Terrace and Bridge of Fairies. Since it is a temple, there is no entrance fee required to enjoy the 18 attractions in Chin Swee Cave Temple. If you are hungry, there is a đ„Źđ„Šđ„ vegetarian restaurant serving all vegetarian cuisine.
You can also spend a night in the Goh Tong Hall Residence Room by donating a minimum amount.  It is a comfortable đaccommodation with basic amenities. This place makes a strategic accommodation as it is  near the Chin Swee Station , where you can take the đ Awana SkyWay Gondola (cable car)  to Genting SkyWorlds the next day. An Oddly Satisfying Place
While waiting for the  Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park to open up at 2pm, start your day 2 by visiting  Ripley's Believe It Or Not Adventureland.  If you are buying the Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park and Ripley's Believe It Or Not Adventureland đ«combo ticket, youâll have to redeem both entrance tickets together at 2pm. So if you plan to visit Ripley's Believe It Or Not Adventureland earlier, it is advisable to purchase the tickets separately.
You can expect to spend 45 mins to 1 hour here  with the 4D trick art museum, Jurassic Research Centre, Zombie Outbreak and the Ripley's Believe It or Not Odditorium. Adults who grew up watching Ripley's Believe It or Not TV Series will find the odditorium nostalgic with all the collections and odd facts on display.
P.s: Â Make sure to visit the luckiest room in the world before going to the casino
Endless Fun at the Indoor Theme Park
The operation hour of the  Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park is from 2pm to 9pm . It requires a đ«separate ticket from the outdoor theme park,  but you can always get your ticket for value from us at Traworld!  This theme park has 3 types of rides which range from low-thrill (suitable for family) to high-thrill.
There are about 19 fun and exciting rides that you can enjoy with your friends, such as Chariot Cruise, Bumper Boss, Spin Crazy, Super Glider and many more! You can ride on all of them be it ârain or đshine because  they are all indoors.
What To Do After Dark?
At night, you can watch a show, play some nostalgic games at the Retro-style arcade  at the Lower Lobby of Genting Grand, go for a game of đł bowling  at First World Plaza or do something haram đ at the đČđ° casino (strictly for non-muslims only ok!).
A Newly Transformed Outdoor Theme Park
Have a đ„đ„Żđhearty breakfast because youâll have an  exciting day ahead of you đ ! The rides and attractions at Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park  are available  from 11am to 6pm.  You can always  book your tickets online with us, Traworld for a  fast and smooth check-in process and at a very competitive price too!
There are 9 sections to explore in Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park. They are Studio Plaza, Eagle Mountain, Central Park, Rio, Andromeda Base, Liberty Lane, Epic, Robots Rivet Town and Ice Age.
If you are going on a weekday, the queue for each ride is not more than 15 minutes. However, if you go on a public holiday or at weekends, expect to queue for an hour or more. This is why it is important to download the Genting Skyworlds app . With the app, you can queue virtually  (applicable for some attractions only) anywhere and enjoy more benefits.
It is recommended to quickly queue virtually for rides & attractions like Independence Days, Alpha Fighter Pilot, Epic Voyage To Moonhaven and Samba Glider as these are pretty popular and can have long waiting times. One of the most recommended rides that you must try out is Independence Day: Defiance.  It is a motion-simulation ride based on the film Independence Day: Resurgence. Inside it, you can experience the  flying theatre.  This is not for the faint-hearted.
There are many food options here in Genting SkyWorlds ,  and you can even exit and re-enter the theme park to have your tummy filled. For Muslims, you can find more  halal dining options at Jom Makan Street Food.  Meanwhile, many stalls within the theme park itself also sell quick bites such as SUPER LONG đhot dogs, đźtacos, đburgers, etc.
The  Awana SkyWay only operates until 11pm,  so plan your journey properly  so that you can make your way home on time.

Malaysia Electrical Power Outlets
Genting Highlands, like most of Malaysia, uses Type G electrical outlets and a voltage of 230V. To use your U.S. electrical devices you will need a travel adapter that can convert the Type G outlets to fit your Type A or Type B plugs. Moreover, you might require a voltage converter to manage the voltage disparity, although numerous contemporary electronic devices like laptops and smartphones are engineered to be dual voltage. They can seamlessly operate on both 120V and 230V without necessitating a voltage converter. Resorts world hotel uses an outlet with usb adapter.

Beauty In The Pot is a Singapore Chinese hotpot restaurant located at SkyAvenue. It is known for its signature Beauty Collagen Broth.
If you are a hotpot fan, this restaurant is a must-visit! Make sure you order the “Signature Beauty Collagen Broth (Scallop & Pork Bone Soup)”. A single pot costs RM32, while a quarter pot starts from RM10 each.
This restaurant is extremely popular so make sure you go early to get a queue number, or call in advance to make reservations. Or you can also visit late at night for supper, since the restaurant opens daily till 2am (last order at 1.15am).

12pm – Shop at SkyAvenue
I saw plenty of luxury boutiques such as Chanel, Coach, Furla, Dior etc. There are also many mass-market brands like Addidas, Uniqlo, Under Armour, and G2000. Beauty and wellness shops include Sephora, Bath and Bodyworks, The Body Shop, etc.
Compared to Singapore, the prices are generally slightly cheaper.
While walking around the mall, we came across SkySymphony , an impressive free light show that runs daily at the atrium on the first floor of SkyAvenue.
I was spellbound by the beautiful show which makes use of 1,001 winch balls suspended from the four-storey high ceiling.
The show runs once every hour between 10am and 12am.
2pm – Lunch at Marrybrown
Ever since I first tried the fried chicken here a few years ago, I will always have a craving for it whenever I go back to Genting Highlands.
This is because the fried chicken just tastes SO good! I love the crispy fried skin, the moist and tender chicken meat, and the fragrant meaty scent. I always feel super satisfied after this simple fast food meal.

The wife and I went for a one hour body massage (RM188) before dinner, and it was an amazing experience!
Everything was on point. First the staff washed our legs with warm water. Then, we had a heavenly body massage in a private room. My masseuse even placed a heated blanket on my body halfway during the massage because I was feeling a little cold. After the massage, we were served with hot ginger tea.
There is another outlet located at First World Hotel lobby, but it is significantly smaller and the ambience is not as serene.

We caught the action-packed martial arts film “Master Z: Ip Man Legacy”. The plush seats were really comfortable and could even shift into a reclining position! (As for the movie, it was decent but a little violent.)
Standard seats cost RM16 per person, which is significantly cheaper than Singapore. There are IMAX experience and gold class seats too.

Best Things to Do in Genting Highlands for 2 Days
Things to do in Genting Highlands, Malaysia: I visited Genting Highlands when I was young. The number of rides, activities and other stuff to do here is endless. Malaysia itself is a fun place and the Genting Highlands make up for a cherry on top.
The first place that we visited in Malaysia was Genting Highlands. Genting Highlands in a synopsis is a large tourist attraction built on a hill station at the peaks of Titiwangsa mountains, Malaysia. Managed by Resorts World Genting, it boasts large indoor and outdoor theme parks along with a number of stay facilities at the hilltop.
Here’s all about the things to do in Genting Highlands!
Table of Contents
How to Get to Genting Highlands
Get there either by bus or cable car. However, we came to know of the cable car option much later. So we boarded a bus from Kuala Lumpur International Airport directly up Genting Highlands. For the cable car, from the Kuala Lumpur bus, get off at the Awana Bus terminal where you’ll begin your 10 minutes cable car ride to the top.
For the cable car, book your e-tickets online to avoid unnecessary queues. Klook offers cable car e-tickets for discounted prices – check it out below!
There are many buses to take you to the spot and you can board from different places as well. Check out this list of Aerobus timings , ticket prices, and more that I found to get to Genting Highlands.
Anyway, I slept through the bus ride as the flight from Singapore was a tiring one. I had a jacket on the bus and the air kept getting more chilly. We thought the air-conditioner was working on full fledge. With no option but to bear the cold, we hoped it’d get better once we alighted the bus.
But the twist was when we alighted the bus: The air was twice colder when we stepped out! I turned around and saw if I could get back on the bus. It was gone. I strongly suggest you pull over some thick jackets when you visit the Highlands.
Genting Highland Packages
There are many places to book your Genting highlands theme park tickets. Local agencies and online sites. Booking directly on the official Genting Skyworlds is a great option. Genting Highlands recommends booking online tickets to avoid queues and for the best experience.
Make sure to book from trusted sites like Booking.com and Klook. Since we’re a partner of Klook, our readers get better-discounted tickets. Get your tickets to the Skytropolis Indoor Theme park and Outdoor park on Klook here! (Third option is a Genting Pass where you can opt for multiple attractions for one good deal)
I’ve been to both Skytropolis and Skyworlds theme parks and I recommend visiting both . Although the Skytropolis is best for only kids’ rides.
Things to do in Genting highlands: A night at First World Hotel
Don’t worry, this is a day trip! We spent the night on Genting Highlands, but our day of exploring began the next day. We booked a room in the First World Hotel – supposed the world’s largest hotel with over 7000 rooms.
Anyway, we were super tired from the day’s traveling so we didn’t bother wandering around.
Accommodations at Genting Highlands
After having dinner at a restaurant in the hotel, we went straight to our room. It was a modest bedroom with a floor-to-ceiling glass window on one side overlooking the theme park. I pulled the curtains aside only to see the mist clouded outside. My parents assured me it would clear the next morning and we would be able to see the park.
The next morning wasn’t any better. The sun was up and we still couldn’t see anything from the panes apart from faint white sunlight barely making it through the glass panes.
1. Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park
I had seen the huge roller coaster and a Ferris Wheel on the outside and believed there couldn’t be anything fun to do on the inside.
Inside, I am talking about Skytropolis’s indoor theme park. And oh my, I turned out wrong! It was endless with the rides it had to offer!
And it wasn’t just for kids. There was a casino on one side where I tried to get in and eventually got pushed out. A super-realistic scary house to which we would be taken by a slow cranky funicular train. There were indoor rollercoasters, and so on. However, I ended up playing on little merry-go horses.
There was also indoor skydiving- which I couldn’t get into either. But hey, I did get on an indoor Ferris Wheel, Bumper car, and even a Columbus :)
2. Skyworlds Outdoor Theme Park
While the indoor theme had bumper cars, the outdoor theme park had bumper boats! Each was for a single person. For me, this was the most fun part of our Genting Highlands day trip. Apart from this, there was a bigger Ferris Wheel that we got on. Yep, I am obsessed with them- I just feel they’re majestic in a manner.
And then there was the huge roller coaster that I’d dreamed of going on for a long time. So I went up there along with my dad and stood in the queue for a while.
To which they said I was not tall enough for the ride. Damn it! Height doesn’t matter in life, right?- but somehow it did in a theme park.
I had no choice but to reside with a much smaller roller coaster not far from the big one. I never had been on one. But when I went on the smaller roller coaster, I was glad I made it back alive!
And then there was the ghost train. You see that happy little kid sitting below there? That’s me. He wasn’t smiling so much when the ride was over. The ghost train was basically a scary house with no walking involved. In other words, a scary house for lazy people.
Back to Kuala Lumpur
When you’re visiting Genting Highlands in Malaysia any time later, keep in mind that a day isn’t enough to get around for all the fun. Take at least two. We didn’t know that and we already had to be back in Kuala Lumpur the very same night. On the bright side, we weren’t done with Malaysia. We yet had to visit the Petronas Tower and Batu Caves. The day trip to Genting Highlands was our first stop. We visited the Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur and the Batu Caves later. Hope you have a great time there! And do tell me about it.

You can leave your vehicle at the Awana SkyCentral Car Park and from there, you can just walk to the station, get your tickets and ride the cable car.
Admire the lush green rainforest below while surrounded by cold mist and fog. You can also get a chance to visit Chin Swee Caves Temple on your way up to the peak.

Lunch: Malaysian Food Street and Wanhoi Yamchâa

If you crave local cuisines, Malaysian Food Street is where you should head to. This dining place features a total of 20 different stalls that sell popular dishes originating from various states and cities in Malaysiaâfrom Melaka to Penang, Kuching, Ipoh and even Kuala Lumpur!
If you canât decide which dish you should get, try out some of their famous ones such as the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Penang Fried Kway Teow, Hon Kee Porridge, and of course, Cendol. Plus, the dishes at Malaysian Food Street wouldnât leave a hole in your wallet!
For those who are looking for great Chinese restaurants, then Wanhoi Yamchâa is for you. What makes this place special is their food presentation; they serve some of the most unique food with one of them being their signature Phoenix Pastry with Lotus and Egg Yolk Filling. This pastry comes in the shape of a pair of yellow birds sitting in a cageâhow cool is that?
Second Stop of the Day: Genting Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park
Image source: Resorts World Genting FB
Whatâs a trip to Genting Highlands without spending a few hours having fun at its renowned theme park? The Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park is located in First World Plaza and it houses twenty exciting rides fit for both kids and adults!
Travelling with your small children aged eight and below? Get them on the bumper car for some laughs or they can also have fun on the classic merry-go-round.
For adults, challenge your fear of heights on the Sky Towers, a drop tower ride or get on the Super Glider, a thrilling roller coaster with sharp turns and sudden drops that could make your heart skip a beat!
To enjoy the rides, you can either get the one-day pass for unlimited rides or if youâre not planning to get on every one of them, you can also go for the pay-per-ride option where the prices per ride might cost you about RM 5 to RM 17.
Third Stop of the Day: Snow World
Do you dream of wandering around a quaint European village during winter? If so, you donât have to travel as far as Europe as you can experience that at Genting Snow World. Put on a pair of gloves, a snowcap, and a jacket, and get ready to walk around the village while the snowflakes gently fall on your head and shoulders.
Genting Snow World also features a fun tube slide called Toboggan slide, ancient Roman castles, and several 3D arts that are perfect for pictures. As for the ticket , the price per entry is RM 45.
Dinner: Burger & Lobster and East Court Restaurant
Originating from the UK, Burger & Lobster is one of the most famous restaurants in Genting Highlands. Located in SkyAvenue Genting, this restaurant has a rather romantic ambience with dim yellow lights occupying the ceiling and bright red booth seats.
Just as its name suggests, they only serve three main menu items which are burgers, wild live lobsters, and lobster rolls. Whatâs great about Burger & Lobster is that they only serve lobsters that are fresh from their very own aquarium! However, do expect to spend your cash more than usual at this restaurant and keep in mind that they only accept walk-in customers.
If youâre planning on eating at a restaurant that serves healthier options, then head to East Court Restaurant on the lower level of Genting Hotel. This non-halal restaurant serves an array of Cantonese cuisines that is deliciously infused with traditional Chinese herbs.
While they serve all sorts of tasty Chinese delicacies, most customersâ favourite menu is their soup. Nothing beats sipping a nice and hot soup in the middle of cold and cosy weather on top of a hill!
Breakfast: Coffee Terrace
Before you continue your adventure in Genting, make sure to get some good breakfast in your system so that you have enough energy to have fun! To do that, you can head to Coffee Terrace that can be found on the lobby level of Genting Grand. Keep in mind that this restaurant has a dress code of smart casual, so dress accordingly!
Coffee Terrace is where you can find a great breakfast buffet serving all sorts of delicious cuisinesâranging from local favourites to western, Japanese, Chinese, and Indian cuisines. The restaurant also has a very cosy ambience where you can enjoy your food in full comfort. However, the breakfast buffet is only available from 7 am up until 10.30 am.
First Stop of the Day: Awana Bio Park
Image source: Awana Bio Park FB
While Genting Highlands is famously known for its theme parks, five-star hotels, and shopping experience, not so many of us are aware of its beautiful mother nature.
If youâre someone who loves the outdoors, you should definitely include Awana Bio Park in your itinerary. Whatâs best about this park is that you can ease your mind with terrific scenery of nature while being accompanied by the cold weather!
Awana Bio Park is also a perfect place for bird watchers as it is the home to more than 250 species of unique birdsâyou can easily spot several magnificent hornbills perched on the trees!
Either stroll along the track by yourself or get a guided tour so that you can learn all about the 130 million-year-old forest. If youâre lucky, you might even spot the bat orchid, a rare species of orchid, blooming in its natural habitat!
Get Direction to Awana Bio Park on Google Maps
Lunch: Motorino Pizzeria and Five Guys
After a few hours venturing the bio park and admiring the beautiful nature, time to replenish your energy with good food for lunch. Located on the fourth floor of SkyAvenue is a restaurant called Motorino Pizzeria, a top spot especially for those who love Neapolitan-style pizzas.
This place is best known for its tasty homemade sauce and each of the pizzas you order are actually cooked in a wood fired oven! Whatâs best is that you can even watch the entire process of the pizza making from the glass window.
Not really a fan of pizza? Then include Five Guys in your itinerary. Originating from the US, this restaurant has been attracting customers for its juicy burgers and many special toppings that you can choose from.
This place also serves creamy milkshakes and hand-cut fries to accompany your burgers. However, since this is the very first outlet of Five Guys in Malaysia, you can expect to wait in long lines before you could get a seat!
Second Stop of the Day: Ripleyâs Believe It or Not! Adventureland
Also found on the fourth level of SkyAvenue, this unique odditorium features a collection of peculiar and wacky items originating from all over the world.Â
Take a closer look at those artefacts and enjoy a few other exhibits including the Jurassic Research Centre where youâll be transported to 65 million years ago and meet the vicious dinosaurs that ruled the world, Zombie Outbreak where youâll be running around, trying to save yourselves from the creepy zombies, and 4D Trick Art Museum, a section filled with creative and mind-bending artworks perfect for a photo or two.
Third Stop of the Day: Genting Highlands Premium Outlets
Before you end your trip, make sure to make a last stop to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets or GPO. This is a place that all shopaholics out there should not miss as it is equipped with more than 150 stores from various well-known brands ranging from Adidas to Kate Spade, Aigner, Michael Kors, Moschino, and Ralph Lauren.
Open every day from 10 am to 10 pm, you can enter one store to another without a rush and if you get hungry in the midst of splurging on your favourite brands, get some food and snacks at its food court before continuing your shopping session!
