As Yalın Architecture team, we are trying to produce an architecture related to today, the geography we live in and the place where the project is located. This production includes solutions to architectural problems of different scales and subjects that we have developed from our own perspective and from where we are.
In this sense, we try to understand the original framework of the design problem well, and to make the architecture and spaces to be built a part of this understanding.
We see architecture not as a design tool that looks good on paper, but as a spatial arrangement tool that connects with its place, cultural and social environment, past and future, methods of construction. In this sense, we are trying to establish the link between the production techniques, the worker, the workmanship, the inseparable part of architecture related to production and construction, with design. With this path we are trying to follow, we are chasing an intermediate situation in which the design partially continues on the construction site and the construction feedbacks always take place in the office.
Along with these, instead of an understanding that is always reinvented and hysterically chasing the new, we construct structures with methods which can sometimes be ‘outdated’ from the beginning. Maybe this attitude is a humble reaction to the world of architecture, where architects usually start doing similar things while chasing the new.
In addition to producing buildings, we try to make them a part of the design problem and make them visible by looking at what is happening at this time, life, politics, employer relations, our building habits, our reflexes on urbanization, and other issues that are not actually seem to be related to architecture, as far as possible.
As Ömer Selçuk Baz and Okan Bal, we brought together our professional practices as architects and city planners in the Yalın Architecture and Urban Design Office we established in 2011. We develop designs on a single building or on urban scale in a variety of sizes and programs for the public and private sectors.

palabras, de una mirada salen mil palabras, que resuenan como eco, y palpitan por si solas., del dolor salen salen nuevas llagas, que se curan con el tiempo, si dejas pasar las horas., del desamor nacen otras cosas, que no sabia que existian, pero me han colmado toda., de la oscuridad eres la luz, y con ella alumbra el nuevo ser, que existe y llora., de nuevos besos salen como flores, deseos insaciables, que no paran aunque llores, de mas esta decir que me perdones, por cada triste adios que te pedi, sin concesiones., aunque duele aun, se que pasara, junto a ti el tiempo corre sin parar, no me dejes ir, vamos a esperar, aunque el trago amargo no pueda ocultar., quiero comenzar, y llegar al fin, y dejar las huellas que me vean partir, no regresare, a la oscuridad, más vale querer y no mirar atras., si tu supieras cuanto yo daria, por curar cada momento, triste y solo de tu vida, pero primero yo tendria, que reparar mi corazon, que me han dejado hecho astillas., con tu mirada llego al infinito, que valentia tu le has dado a este corazoncito, no tengo miedo, solo necesito,, que me prometas ese amor, que no se halla en cualquier sitio., from a glance come a thousand words sounding like an echo, and they beat by themselves., out of pain come out the sores, that melt with the wind, and they let the waves pass., other things come from lack of love, i did not know that they existed, but they have filled me all., from darkness you are light, and with it shines the new being, that exists and cries., new kisses come out as flowers, insatiable desires, that does not stop even if you cry, needless to say, forgive me, for every sad goodbye i asked you, without concessions., although it hurts, i know it will pass, next to you, time runs endlessly, do not let me go, we're going to wait, although the bitterness i can not hide., i want to start, and get to the end, and leave the traces that see me leave, i will not come back, to the darkness, better to love again and never look back., if you knew how much i would give, to cure every moment, sad and lonely of your life, but first i would have, to fix my heart, that someone left destroyed., with your eyes i reach infinity, how much bravery you have given to this little heart, i'm not afraid, i just need,, that you promise me that love, that nobody can find anywhere., d’un regard sortent mille mots, qui sonnent en écho et battent d’eux-mêmes de la douleur sortent et ressortent de nouvelles plaies qui guérissent avec le temps si tu laisses passer les heures , de la peine d’amour, naissent autres choses que je ne savais pas qui existaient mais elles m’ont complètement comblée tu es la lumière de l’obscurité et avec elle, tu éclaires le nouvel être qui existe et pleure , de nouveaux baisers poussent comme des fleurs des désirs insatiables qui n’arrêtent pas même si tu pleures c’est trop que de te demander ton pardon, pour chaque triste adieu que je t’ai demandé sans concessions , même si ça fait encore mal je sais que ça passera avec toi, le temps fil sans arrêt ne me laisse pas partir nous allons attendre même si le goût amer ne peux cacher je veux commencer et aller jusqu’au bout et laisser que les empreintes me voient partir je ne reviendrai pas à l’obscurité mieux vaut aimer sans regarder derrière , si tu savais combien je donnerais pour guérir chaque moment triste et seul de ta vie mais d’abord je devrais réparer mon coeur qu’on a laissé en éclats, avec ton regard j’atteins l’infini quel courage tu as donné à ce petit coeur je n’ai pas peur, j’ai seulement besoin, que tu me promettes cet amour , qui ne se retrouve pas n'importe ou.

Wow, so many countries to fit into 12 days , it was all worth it , everything was so well organized , This was a tour that fulfilled all our expectation . The tour leader Bojan was amazing and fun to be with, answering any questions we may have , bot did we all have a lot , he was very patient , thank you Bojan. The driver was good too, always alert and friendly and kept the bus very clean. Accommodations were good, very comfortable , then again you expect that from a 5 star hotel. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

All About Balkans (4 Star Hotels)
A well organized whirlwind of experiences! Each day introduced us to the most spectacular sights of a new country. At each stop, well educated proffessional local guides explained the history and social complexion of the people. We received a taste of each region and often wished we had more time to explore. This tour could have been twice as long but for limited vacation time. Simon, our Travel Talks representative, masterfully lead a diverse group of 40 through the Balkans using humor, knowledge, passion and compassion. He brought us together as cohesive group and we forged new friendships. Any issue arising was handled in a mannner that left all of us having fun and learning new things.
Balkan Explorer
Wish we could do it all over again! Loved seeing this beautiful side of Europe, especially with Filip as our guide! He's so knowledgeable in the history, language, and cultures of these areas. Just a joy to be around. He played great tunes on the bus and was always positive. Hope to have him as our guide again one day!

Tour from Athens to Dubrovnik or Split: 7 Balkan countries in 14 days
We had an excellent experience. Everything was well organized. The tour company was very receptive to any questions. The guide was very knowledgeable. A couple of the hotels were just OK, but in general, they were just up to our standards. I will say that having an electric car was somehow stressful as our guide could not always find a place to recharge the car at night. He had to go back several times and wait for hours. It made his days very long as it had already been our driver and our guide all day.

Tour from Athens to Belgrade: 7 Balkan countries in 14 days
Wonderful tour of Balkans! Montenegro, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Albania were new to us. Each day was well planned with interesting sites to explore: old historic centers/ museums/ castles/ churches/ mosques/ markets. Hotels were well located and offered delicious breakfasts. Fabio our guide and driver was excellent and taught us the history of all the sights that we visited. We will recommend this tour to family and friends.
Zagreb to Athens: Adriatic & Ancient Capitals
This trip was overall in one word... amazing. The destinations covered were amazing & beautiful. It was handy to have everything sorted out : the accommodation (mix of hostels & hotels), the transportation and many of the activities. Most of the places stayed did not have breakfast, but it was stated clearly that they wouldn't. Some of the places that had breakfast included a selection of breads, cereals and coffee - everything that you need. Croatia blew my mind.. The Croatia part of the tour was very in depth and I have a great idea of what the country is all about now & I also want to go back to see more in the future - The tour goes to cities, lakes, medieval villages, islands, beaches and has stops along the way to each usually. Note that on occasion there are stops along the way & the activity isn't always included in the tour.. I found that out the hard way in Albania. The transportation was a mix of using local transportation, personal buses and ferries. Note that in Albania MOST places do not accept credit card & we had troubles using the bank machines to take out cash.. Albania accepts the Euro as currency so make sure you have lots before you go (I also found out the hard way and didn't have any Euros as i Spent them in Montenegro) The groups for the tour are really what made the trip amazing.. Both groups were super friendly & alot of fun.. being a smaller tour and with the age restrictions it did make for a better trip because we were all around the same age, so had more in common! It was great having a smaller group too because we all became closer & spent even the "free time/Free days" together doing the activities. Our guide Marco was with us for both parts of the tour and overall he did a great job covering the information needed and I felt like we could always go to him if we had questions about anything. That was a part of the tour that I liked: knowing that I had someone to ask questions to who knows the area..Overall, HIGHLY recommend doing BOTH parts of this tour, as Many who didn't do the 2nd leg of the trip were super jealous and wishing they did! You won't regret doing this tour!!
Dubrovnik to Athens
Tour leader Dora was awesome. Very adaptable. Provided options on transport to save time & inconvenience. Gave us information on each place visited but didn't overload us like school children. Provided suggestions on places to visit, restaurants, etc during free time. Hotels & guest houses all very good. Would have liked to stay 2 nights in Berat instead of 1. That is our 2nd Intrepid tour, will definitely keep recommending to friends. Linda Arlaud & Rodney Barnes
Western Balkans Uncovered
I did not know what to expect and was pleased to find it all very interesting and different from our North American standards. The kindness of the people toward tourists was wonderful to experience especially given the difficult history all of the countries visited had gone through. Food and drink were very good.
Balkan Dreams end Bulgaria
Very good experience overall. Most hotels were very pleasant, with the exception on the one in Greece: I had to requests light bulbs and the shower was a hose without a shower head. Not enough water flow to wash my hair, and Macedonia, where the bed lacked a "foot", the bed was sideways, but there was no available rooms to be moved to. I would recommend skipping the first town in Kosovo to allow more time in Sarajevo. We arrived there at night, might have been nice to see it with some day light. Last, Rumi the tour guide is absolutely fantastic. She elevated the experience with her friendliness and knowledge. Best tour guide ever!
Balkan Adventure (14 Days)
An excellent trip with an outstanding tour director (Sarah Rossi) and highly skilled bus driver (Bruno). Plenty of option excursion choices along with very good included tours with knowledgeable local guides. The only down side were two of the hotels - Hotel Marinela, Sofia Bulgaria, and Mercure Belgrade Excelsior - that were in desperate need of refurbishment not to mention functioning air conditioning and bathroom cleaning. Otherwise, great trip.

Balkan Experience – seven countries in two weeks - SMALL GROUP
This is my third time in the area, but first time in this part of the Balkans. We are absolutely satisfied. We saw and experıenced so many beautıful places. I am still full of impressions. Perfect choice of the hotels, better than promised. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and a very safe driver. From day 1 we felt safe and peaceful. The communication with the office was also smooth. All in all - a faultless tour.
Treasures of the Balkans (Classic, 16 Days)
Dubrovnik to Athens: Beachfronts & Fortresses
This trip was absolutely amazing! And it was all due to our amazing guide - he was, hands down, the most knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide a person could have dreamed up! He not only made it possible for our diverse group to get to know one another, he introduced us to experiences, places and persons that a local would only know. He was meticulously organized down to a "T", arranged for upgrades at his own expense, and left the group with little to no worries about where/what would be done next. If I could book tours with this guide solely - I would. In fact, for my next adventure I do plan on booking with G Adventures and requesting his tour.

Great tour and great guide - highly recommend Penguin
What people love about Balkans Tours
My experience with this tour was great. The hotels were tops. Our tour guide very attentive and knowledgeable. Our bus driver, Barry, was the best. The itinerary is very busy and a bit tight. I would suggest spending less time at Dubrovnik and more at Kotor. Our pre-fix meals were good, but maybe offer a choice of two or three entrees? Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip!
Intense as expected. The hotels were good and centrally located for the most part. Tour guides Dusan in Northern balkan countries and then Vasso for the last Greece part were young, knowledgeable, energetic, friendly, easy going and took care of every detail for us
Fast paced, and enjoyable. Ten countries in sixteen days, organized to the point it was a pleasure to experience. Our guide Rogan kept us informed and gave great background information of things we were about to experience. I will relive this adventure many times in my head.
