Our tours are completely CO2-neutral. For our catering we use only local, ecologic food. To experience your surroundings and simultaneously to help preserving it enhances the good feeling to be one with nature. On all of our tours our guides collect plastic from the beaches and the water and encourage our guests to do the same.

Active  – if you can swim you can also paddle. You will certainly have fun with us and can be as active as you want to. Beaches, islands, small groups and inspiring instructors help you to try out new things and to experience the ocean actively in a kayak. With us you can be sporty in a relaxing way.

Certainly! We provide stable kayaks that are ideal for beginners. You can even opt for a tandem kayak, which offers added stability. Our team will tailor the kayak to your needs and assist you in getting in and out of it. Additionally, OKT offers beginner kayak courses lasting 3 hours. Upon completion, you’ll receive a wet card. Our base includes a spacious container where you can securely store your valuables, bags, backpacks, and, if necessary, a suitcase.

If you’re coming from Oslo, you have several options:

• Take the train to Skøyen.
• Catch buses 20, 81, or 42 to Skøyen.
• From there, head towards the sea. The entrance to Marina Sjølyst is located in the large roundabout near the E18 ramp. Upon reaching the entrance, veer left, cross a small bridge, pass the boat shop, and continue right towards the water. You’ll spot a large white tent, behind which lies our base and the tour starting point.

Yes, there are parking facilities at the marina entrance and before reaching the bridge on the left side.

Our kayaks are stable, and capsizing is rare. However, in the event of an accidental capsizing at sea, our instructors are trained to promptly rescue you.

Generally, tours proceed regardless of rain. We’re equipped to handle wind challenges, and rain can be an intriguing experience on the fjord. In extreme cases such as severe thunderstorms or dense fog, the tour may be canceled for the safety of our guests. In such instances, we’ll endeavor to reschedule or provide a full refund.

Mad Goats is the original founder of the “ Akerselva River Kayak Tour ” , which we started over 9 years ago! Over this time we have taken thousands of happy people on the Akerselva kayak tour, which starts at Nedre Foss Gård, and ends out on the incredible Oslofjord in Bjørvika. 

Mad Goats has “ Floating Saunas in Tjuvholmen ” , a central waterside district in Oslo. This is also where we start our popular “ Oslo Fjord Kayak Tour “Fjord City” . The combination of Kayak Tours and Sauna creates an awesome experience, but make sure to book your kayaking tour first! We also “rent stand up paddle boards” from Tjuvholmen, which has spectacular canals and architecture, just waiting to be explored by SUP!

At our whitewater base in Sjoa , we offer “kayaking and pack-rafting” , both tours and våttkort courses on world class rivers. Come visit us in the beautiful Heidal Valley, where we have a forest sauna and a hot tub looking out on the magical Sjoa River.

In addition to all these awesome outdoor activities, Mad Goats teaches the “ 3-hr and 2-day beginner våttkort kayak courses” from Bjørvika in central Oslo. Everyone will get an introduction to kayaking and safety by our certified kayak instructor, before we go on a trip. Your guide for the trip is a trained activity leader through the Norwegian Paddle Association and has many years of hidden knowledge about fishing in the Oslo Fjord. Now is the time to share your knowledge with you.

• Course in how to get the seatrout and seabass (choice of lures, tides, bottom conditions, conservation of the Oslo Fjord)

SEA KAYAK COURSE

Our sea kayak intro course is qualified by Norwegian Padel Assosiasjon (NPF). On this course you will learn the basics of kayak padling. That includes padle techniques, safety and navigation. The last part of the course is obligatory, here you will need to show that you can rescue other and your self (shown in the pictures). If done correctly done, you are qualified for the the "Wetcard" by NPF. And can use this to hire kayaks in Norway and rest of the Nordic countries.

KAYAK with Island-Yoga Tour

We invite you to a unique nature experience in the oslo fjord. join us on a paddle trip from langviksbukten (bygdøy) to some of the oslo fjord's island secrets, we give you plenty of time to explore the island before you get the ultimate yoga experience.

Everyone gets an introduction to paddling and safety from our certified kayak instructor, before we go on a trip. Your guide for the trip is a trained activity leader through the Norwegian Paddle Association. Therefore not a great need for prior knowledge in paddling, but good to be a little adventurous and confident in being in contact with the sea and nature. We are also lucky to have Ingrid with us, as a certified yoga teacher she will get you deep in the zeen mode.

Wear warm woolen clothes, a windbreaker and bring a woolen blanket to the yoga session. Or just use the grass as your yoga mat. Everything you need for kayak equipment and life jackets can be borrowed from Oslo by Kayak.

NB: In case of rain and a lot of wind, the trip will be postponed or you can get your money back

The European Commission awarded Oslo the prestigious European Green Capital title for 2019. We celebrate this by giving you the Eco Kayak Tour! 3 hours small kayak group tour in the Oslofjord. Where you will learn about Oslofjords wildlife and how to protect its beauty. Tavaha is the Nordic expression for taking care of the ocean. It is also referred to as the "Nordic aloha". The most effective way to protect our ocean is to make sure our plastic does not end up in the ocean. On our tour you will have the chance to be a part of a beach cleanup, or you can simply take a swim. However, a swim will always feel so much better after a you have done some Tavaha ;-)

All Oslo By Kayak tour guides are also certified kayak instructors, they will make sure you learn the basics of paddling so you can enjoy the trip. That means you do not need kayak skills to join this trip.

We believe in quality versus quantity, therefore we have only max 8 people on each of our tours. We hope you will feel safe and happy between the Islands in the Oslofjord.
