River Queen Voyages is Nashville's original and premier downtown kayak rental and tour company on the Cumberland River. *Make sure to call ahead or book online* 4 person minimum for any route to confirm (can be from different groups, for example 2 groups of 2 people each) We will do our best to accommodate late bookings. Private tours and group pricing available. 2016 season offers two options: (1) Downtown Beginner 3-mile kayak route from Shelby Park to Riverfront Park. Plan an hour on water (depends on current), about two hours total. Great for photos! (2) Scenic Intermediate 5-mile or 8-mile kayak route from near Opryland to Shelby Park. Plan 2-3 hours on water (depends on current), about 3-4 hours total. Does NOT go into downtown but has skyline view in distance. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, upriver shuttle, kayaking basics, and safety demonstration are all included. CPR/First Aid certified river guides with historical knowledge of the city available as add-on. River map provided upon request. See you on the Cumberland River in Nashville! …

The ladies who were our guides for our kayaking trip were so friendly and helpful! They were on time and professional. I highly recommend this place!

Don't waste your money. We booked a kayak trip through RQV, and it wasn't a great experience. The employee who picked us up and drove us to the put in point was gruff/rude and relatively unhelpful. The mandatory life jackets were wet and they smelled strongly of body odor. A second employee who met us at the put in point was friendly, but she smelled like alcohol, and her lengthy arm pit hair was visible. The kayak trip was pleasant enough, despite a rainy and thundery day. When the employees met us at the end of the trip, they asked us to carry the heavy kayaks across slippery stepping stones surrounded by ankle-deep crevices and up the wet grassy hill. At the van, we were greeted by a police officer who attempted to hand us a ticket and scolded us for continually parking at the stadium during events. We directed the officer to the first employee, Ben.

We kayaked with River Queen Voyages this past weekend. We had a great experience even though we got stuck in a rain storm.. to no fault of RQV. They were helpful and very laid back. We had so much fun! I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have a good time! Tip: Ask Ben to sing you some Kenny Chesney.. it's his favorite!

Great company to rent kayaks in Nashville! Their prices were great and the views of Nashville were unbeatable. Such a fun activity to see the city in a unique way! We enjoyed the broadway music while in the kayak.

We had such a great time on the river with these folks! We went to Nashville for Memorial Day weekend with two other couples, booked three tandem kayaks no problem the same week that we left and off we went. We opted for the two hour, five mile kayak and were able to chat and race while also seeing some wildlife and casually float at times. There's little to no shade on this route to sunscreen yourself thoroughly and get ready for the warm and humid Tennessee afternoon if you choose a warm Nashville afternoon like we did. The route to get to the pickup and drop off spot if gorgeous in Shelby Park which us tourists would have absolutely missed if we weren't coerced over to East Nashville to see it! Thanks y'all!

This was such a great experience for my bachelorette!! Captain Lo was so great with letting us have fun and be safe all at the same time. Will definitely be doing this again!

We were so lucky to pick up a flyer for River Queen Voyages from a local cafe during our trip to Nashville! Scheduling was super easy and we had a blast!! 5 miles went by so quickly we didn't want it to end. Would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful relaxing afternoon on the Cumberland River :)

I did a tandem kayak with a party of 10 for a bachelorette party. we accidentally went to the wrong pick up location, and instead of making us uber to the correct spot, the shuttle came to get us, I'm so grateful for that. Ashley and Vin (I may have heard his name wrong) were very friendly and answered all our questions. It was a fun experience, I would definitely recommend these guys for a nice kayak trip down the river.

Loved my skyline kayak tour on the Cumberland with RQV today! What a great team of people and a memorable experience. I live in Nashville but had never seen the city quite like this. This will definitely be something I try to get all out of town visitors to do with me from now on!

River Queen Voyages is downtown Nashville's first and only kayak rental and tour company on the Cumberland River. See the city from a whole new point of view! *Make sure to call ahead or book online.* We will do our best to accommodate late bookings and group pricing available. Offering two options: The first is a 3-mile beginner level tour-guided kayak route from Shelby Park (East Nashville) to downtown Riverfront Park. Plan a few hours with 45-60 minutes on water. The second is an 8-mile intermediate level self-guided w/map kayak route from Lock Two Park (near Opryland) to Shelby Park. Plan 4-5 hours with about 3 hours on water. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and shuttle transportation are all provided. A guide will accompany the 3-mile beginner route and a map is provided for the intermediate route.

This summer, cruise the Cumberland with River Queen Voyages.

Forget Pedal Taverns: River Queen Voyages are the coolest way to see Nashville with a side of cardio. (And not just because you can take a dip while you’re en route.)

Founder Annie Klaver fell in love with Nashville—and the Cumberland River—when she moved here in 2006. While kayaking near her Madison home, she found herself wondering why locals and tourists didn’t use the Cumberland River in downtown Nashville more for recreation and relaxation, and thus, River Queen Voyages was born. Now in its fifth season, RQV offers up a completely unique way to take in the iconic Nashville skyline—and beyond.

“Our city was founded on the river, and there are hidden gems all along our routes. You can explore Demonbreun’s Cave upriver from Shelby Park, see the Omohundro lighthouse in the river, and see river houses and industry only visible from the water,” says Klaver. “The view coming around the bend into downtown on the Cumberland River is spectacular.”

River Queen Voyages offers three Cumberland tours and one tour of the nearby lower Stones River:

The Skyline : A three-mile (60- to 90-minute) trek from Shelby Park to downtown Riverfront Park.

The Greenway : A five-mile (two- to two-and-a-half-hour) trip from near Opryland to Shelby Park with scenic views of river houses, farms, and wildlife with downtown in the distance.

The Full Nash : An eight-mile (three- to four-hour) journey from near Opryland to downtown Riverfront Park during which you’ll experience both natural and urban landscape.

The Stoner : A three-mile (60- to 90-minute) nature paddle on the lower Stones River from the Percy Priest Dam to the new put-in/take-out at Kohl’s at Lebanon Pike. The Stones River is a smaller tributary into the Cumberland River so mostly non-motorized boats paddle this route.
