Against all odds

Against all odds. I see a lot of negative feedback in some reviews for this travel agency, and somewhat they maybe right based on their own experience. In my own personal experience, I'm satisfied with these guys, I had to wait about 2 days to get my tickets but I was given heads up before, they provide competitive prices. What they advertise as unbeliebable prices online is pure clickbait, don't fall for it and be prepared to be offered new prices closer to reality. Also DO NOT shop online with them, always call them by phone to deal directly with them, even of there is a languaje barrier sometimes, still better.

Cancels Airfare Without Notification

We booked a trip with them to Cancun, Mexico for our family vacation back in August. The tickets initially showed up on Delta and then we found out days before our trip our tickets had been canceled without notifying us. Delta charged our credit card over $700 and they charged us over $200 for their fee yet no one wanted to tell us that we didn't actually have airfare tickets?! I don't understand how this is allowed. We literally found this out 3 days before our trip! We called SkyTravelHub and they told us that we had to call Delta. We call Delta and they tell us that we have to call SkyTravelHub! Neither would help us in rebooking our tickets or refunding our money. Can you imagine if we had driven 2 hours to the airport the morning of our flight only to find out that our airfare had been canceled?! What a joke! We will never book through Skytravelhub again and we ended up booking tickets through JetBlue directly today as we don't trust Delta either. We had to file a credit card dispute against both as neither would take responsibility for this mess up.

This company is a fake

This company is a fake, they post out cheap deals then call you to tell you that the flight that you just booked is not available and they jacked up the price from $1,154 to $1,789 for 3 ppl. Honestly I can’t say anything bad about the customer service Patrick, he was very professional even though I was very upset about the price he was calm and collected and at the end help find the best deal. Thank you Patrick for your professionalism! But I would not recommend this company to my friends and family.

Don't Waist Your Time

I booked 3 tickets for a total of about $1900. I got a "pending" email followed by a "unfortunately that itinerary is no longer available. I was provided a new itinerary at an increased price of $2600. I went back on the site and was checking for other flights and saw the "phone fare" banner. I called in for their "phone fare" rate. The gentleman that I spoke to was rude and lectured me about how I would not find a rate within my budget. When I proceeded to give him a rate I found on another site he began talking badly about the other site and continued to lecture me about how my budget was too low and kept trying to pressure me into "upgrading" my seats after I mentioned several times how strict my budget is. I will never try this site again.

Scottish politics is in "utter chaos", a Greens source tells Sky News, as the first minister faces a no-confidence motion and Scottish Labour has said it will file a separate motion against the government. 

The Greens, who were ousted from a power-sharing agreement with the SNP yesterday, have said they will back the motion of no confidence in Humza Yousaf. 

However, the Greens source said the party is undecided on the motion of no confidence in the government. 

The leader of Scottish Labour says it is a matter of "when, not if" the first minister resigns.  

Humza Yousaf is facing a motion of no confidence, put forward by the Conservatives and backed by the Greens, Labour and Lib Dems, next week.

However, Labour has said it will also table a motion of no confidence in the SNP government. 

In a video posted on X, Anas Sarwar said "this isn't just about him [Humza Yousaf]".

"We have no confidence in this SNP government. 

"That is why we need an election right now."

A short time ago, the Alba Party said it would not be backing Labour's motion (see previous post). 

However Alba's one MSP, Ash Regan, may prove to have the deciding vote in the motion of no confidence in Mr Yousaf.

Scotland's Alba Party says it won't back Labour's motion of no confidence in the Scottish government, warning them to "beware in their glee".

Earlier, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said he would lay down the motion - which is separate to an earlier no-confidence motion in Humza Yousaf as first minister - later today ( see post at 10.12am ).

However, Sky's Scotland correspondent Connor Gillies says Alba's announcement leaves the Labour motion weakened before it has even started.

An Alba Party spokesperson said: "Anas Sarwar’s grandstanding is just an attempt to remain relevant. However, unionist parties should beware in their glee."

"As much as Humza Yousaf and the SNP find themselves in a tricky predicament, independence supporters will not turn back to the yoke of Tory and Labour mediocrity. 

"Alba Party are now ensuring that independence supporters have a party they can turn to.“ 

Alex Salmond's pro-independence Alba Party has one MSP in the Scottish parliament ( see post at 10.55am ).

Ash Regan, once a rival to Humza Yousaf for SNP leader, defected to the party last year.

While the party isn't backing the motion against the government as a whole, she may well have the deciding vote in the motion of no confidence against Mr Yousaf next week ( see post at 9.47am ).

Sky's  Connor Gillies says  that currently makes her "possibly the most powerful woman in Scotland".

With the local elections just over a week away, deputy political editor Sam Coates explains why they matter and what they might tell us about the upcoming general election.

People voting in local elections in England on 2 May will need to provide photo ID.

It is the second year the requirement has been in place - but in 2023,  14,000 people couldn't cast their ballot because they didn't take ID to the polling booth.

There are 22 different types of ID you can use - and if you don't have any of them, you can register for a Voter Authority Certificate.

Here's everything you need to know to avoid being caught out:

Humza Yousaf's future as first minister is hanging in the balance today ahead of a motion of no confidence next week.

Now, as leader of a minority government, his fate may be hanging on just one vote - that of a former SNP leadership rival. 

We take a look at how:

The numbers

In the Scottish parliament, the SNP has 63 seats out of 129 , two short of an outright majority;

The Conservatives have  31;

Labour has 22;

The Greens have  seven;

The Liberal Democrats have four;

The Alba Party has one ;

There is also one presiding officer Alison Johnstone, who is both an MSP and Scotland's equivalent of the Commons speaker.

How the numbers are expected to fall

The motion of no confidence was brought by the Scottish Conservatives.

The Greens, Labour and the Lib Dems have all said they are backing the motion.

That would translate into 64 votes against the first minister versus 63 SNP votes.

So the one Alba vote is expected to be key.

How it may all come down to one ... Ash Regan

Once an SNP leadership rival to Mr Yousaf, Ash Regan defected to Alex Salmond's Alba Party last October. 

If she backs Mr Yousaf then that would mean both sides have 64 votes.

Ms Johnstone would then be expected to vote in favour of the status quo, so the first minister would survive.

But if Ms Regan votes against Mr Yousaf, then the opposition parties will have 65 votes against the SNP's 63, and the first minister would lose.

He wouldn't be compelled to resign in this situation, but he'd be under huge pressure to step aside.

And remember, Scottish Labour say they are going to lay down a motion of no confidence in the Scottish government, which would trigger a separate vote ( see post at 10.12am ).

Scotland's embattled first minister is expected to make a "major announcement on housing" in the coming hours, sources close to Humza Yousaf tell Sky News. 

Sources say he will not be resigning. 

Mr Yousaf is expected to speak to the media this afternoon. 

It comes after he cancelled a speech he was due to deliver on independence in Glasgow this lunchtime ( see previous post ).

Labour's rail plan is a landmark moment.

Unlike many aspects of the party's policy offers to date, it is detailed, comes with a blueprint for what will happen on day one, and Whitehall will understand how to implement it.

It is, after all, winding back the clock.

Even the rail companies themselves say change to the train network is needed - though they inevitably don't like this version of their future - and it is not without controversy.

But the row is a fight Labour want to have.

After months of a pro-business love-in from Rachel Reeves and the Labour leadership, it is the single most concrete measure worrying business so far, according to figures from FTSE 100 firms I talked to this week.

They are watching closely to see whether the tendency to squeeze and bash business, evident under ex-leader Jeremy Corbyn, remains in the party's DNA, even if it is well hidden.

Sir Keir Starmer's plan allows the railway companies to come back into public ownership within five years.

But will it leave the railways better off?

Scotland's Labour leader Anas Sarwar is to lay down a motion of no confidence in the Scottish government later today, Sky News understands.

This would be separate to the existing no-confidence motion which is in Humza Yousaf as first minister.

If the motion of no confidence in Mr Yousaf passes next week, he would not be compelled to resign - although failing to hold the confidence of the majority of parliament would put significant pressure on his position. 

However, if there is a vote of no confidence in the government the first minister and ministers would be forced to step down.

Parliament would have 28 days to choose a new first minister or call an election.

"I think it is now a matter of when, not if Humza Yousaf resigns as first minister," Mr Sarwar told LBC.

"But I think it would be completely untenable for the SNP to presume they can impose another unelected first minister in Scotland. 

"Ultimately I think it is the people of Scotland that should decide who leads this country and not just a small group of SNP members."

Labour have promised to renationalise nearly all passenger railways within their first term if they win the next election.

On the Sky News Daily, Niall Paterson speaks to Sky's political correspondent Sam Coates to discuss the actualities of Labour's plan and assess if a Great British Railway would be more efficient and cost-effective than the current privatised system.

Paterson also speaks to the editor of Rail magazine, Nigel Harris, to discuss the current state of our railways and what he believes needs to change.

Elsewhere in politics, the Scottish government has ended its power-sharing agreement with the Greens.

Sky's Scotland correspondent Connor Gillies discusses the implications of this for both parties – including a motion of no confidence in First Minister Humza Yousaf.

My son was getting stressed out with …

My son was getting stressed out with looking for affordable tickets home to CA from Boston for Thanksgiving. Prices were getting ridiculous even almost 2 mos out! I told him I’d help monitor for him so I hopped onto Kayak. Yikes prices were indeed sky high like $800+. Then a pop-up on my screen appeared asking if I’d like to compare pricing with Kayak. One of the options was SkyTravelHub. Listing prices at $303! I was very skeptical but clicked on it just to see. Then I did an online chat with Allen. He asked what my travel plans were and came up with availability on Delta. RT ticket with the times that worked, non-stop tickets for $589. The $303 tickets were sold out. I was very skeptical and scared, asked lots of questions which Allen patiently answered for me. I asked him to call me to get my cc info and the caller ID showed up as 310 Medical Con! This was a red flag I told him but he assured me this was from their 800 main no and he’d get someone to look into this? I also did a quick search for reviews and saw 4.4 stars from TrustPilot. So I decided to gamble and try out this service. Allen explained the ticket would be emailed to me within 24-36 hrs latest and payment would reflect 2 vendors, one of them being Delta. Today everything has gone through as Allen explained, and I have received the e-ticket from Delta. I went online and was able to reserve the seats for my son. Needless to say, I am very happy my gamble paid off, and we’ll get to see my son soon enough. Allen provided excellent service and followed up by texting me and calling to verify info. He assured me he was monitoring the ticket and that I would receive it as promised. As soon as we know my son’s Christmas break schedule I’ll be calling Allen again to book his Christmas flight home, then Spring break ticket, and many other family trips I’m sure. 5 stars to Allen for the savings and for making me into a believer!

Company full of liars and scammers

The customer service started off great with Roy. He was recommended to me since we were going to be booking as part of a really large group. I was originally quoted a price $75 more than what my traveling companions paid. After addressing this with him, he “adjusted” the fare and was able to match the price. After paying for the tickets for myself and my family, I receive a call a few days later from Mary, who states that she can beat Roy’s price and give me the tickets for almost $100 less than the matched price. I was assured by Roy that he was giving me the “best price” for the original fare (the one that was $75 more than the other tickets) and the reassured that the “matched price” is the best price he can give. Mary also assured me of the same. I was unable to cancel my ticket from Roy and therefore ended up not saving the $100. When I had purchased my ticket with Roy, I had informed him that I wanted to upgrade to Delta’s comfort + or first class depending on the availability. Obviously, wince a sale was to be made, he guaranteed that this is no problem and suggested I purchase economy tickets first and then track price changes for the higher classes. After purchasing the tickets I checked to see if I can upgrade and all the seats were greyed out. I kept checking on a weekly basis for about a month and a half and they were still greyed out. I reached out to Roy twice in this timeframe only to be told that Delta hasn’t released these seats yet and that I should keep checking. Not satisfied with his answer, I called Delta and they told me that I cannot upgrade because of the type of ticket I’ve purchased. I reached back out to Roy who said this cannot be and he will have someone from the ticketing team look into this. I get a call back a few hours later and I’m told that Delta hasn’t released these seats yet and that I should wait some more. I’m currently 3 weeks away from flying out and I’m being told the airline hasn’t released the tickets while the app is telling me those sections are entirely vacant. I text Roy and let him know of this revelation and I’m told to call him…I call and he’s gone for the day…I text and I’m told to call…I call and he’s gone for the day. I guess I’m flying basic economy…if I’m flying that is.
