7 Incredible Travel Trailer Floorplans with Outdoor Kitchens in 2024

Aaron Richardson

  • Last Updated: February 22, 2024
  • 16 minutes read

When you’re adventuring on the open road and camping out in a travel trailer, you’ll want to take advantage of all of the perks of nature.

If the weather is nice, cooking inside might hinder you from taking in the scenic views outside, so why limit yourself? As you hunt for the right travel trailer for your adventures, be sure to look for one with an outdoor kitchen.

After a lot of research, I found some of the best travel trailers with outdoor kitchens:

  • Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS
  • Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL
  • Grand Design Solitude 377MBS
  • Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS
  • Jayco White Hawk 26RK
  • KZ Sportsmen 333BHK
  • Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI

These trailers are equipped with everything you need to cook and eat outdoors with your home on wheels just steps away. Many of them also have some excellent outdoor entertainment features, such as an awning with LED lighting, outdoor TVs and sound systems, and more.

Keep reading to learn all about the top travel trailer floorplans that feature outdoor kitchens.

What Does an Outdoor Kitchen Include

What Does an Outdoor Kitchen Include?

Travel trailer outdoor kitchens can include different features and appliances, so you need to consider what your needs are, such as:

Cooking appliances (whether it’s fitted with a grill, stove, or just propane hook-ups for your campstove)

Food storage, such as an outdoor mini fridge

Prep and dining space (some even include a sink and/or an outdoor shower)

Lots of outdoor kitchens are complemented by the travel trailer’s existing outdoor living spaces.

Nearly all new travel trailers are equipped with a power awning, and many have additional features such as LED lighting, outdoor speakers, and even entertainment centers.

7 Best Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens

The best travel trailers are made for comfort and style, inside and out. When you’re considering the outdoor kitchen features and appliances, the following travel trailers offer all of the fittings you need to create and enjoy delicious meals from outside your trailer.

1. Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS

When you want a travel trailer that can accommodate up to 10, the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS is definitely the travel trailer you want.

It has a bunkroom at the back of the trailer that has dedicated sleeping space for four, in addition to the queen master bedroom and convertible dinette and sofa in the living space.

If you have a large group, the single bathroom may present some problems, but it should be okay if you’re camping in a campground with facilities.

The Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS has a full kitchen with a double-bowl large sink, a three-burner cooktop and oven, convection microwave, and a 6 cu.ft. stainless steel double-door refrigerator and freezer.

With the included outdoor kitchen, your cooking capacity and outdoor enjoyment is doubled with the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS.

There’s a tall mini fridge for food and beverage storage, a sink and a grill/stove with additional storage cabinets and drawers.

Overhead, the door to the outdoor kitchen opens like a hatch to keep you covered if it’s raining.

After you’re finished cooking, set up your meal under the 18-foot power awning, turn on some tunes to listen through the outdoor speakers, and enjoy!

Key Features & Price:

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner and forced air/ducted furnace
  • 4-person bunkhouse
  • Full outdoor kitchen (grill/stove, fridge, sink and storage)
  • Hot/cold outdoor shower
  • Price: Starting at $26,999

2. Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL

The Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL also has a bunkhouse, but this layout is a little bit different than the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS, since it has a convertible dinette under the driver’s side bunk.

It has a large entertainment center with a fireplace and theater seating across the trailer next to the main convertible dinette in the living space.

The fully-featured indoor galley feels more like a residential kitchen with the island and oversized farm-style single bowl sink.

All of the appliances are stainless steel, including the three-burner range top with an oven and glass cover, 10 cu.ft. double door refrigerator, microwave and range hood with a 12-volt fan and light.

The trailer has a spacious bathroom with a toilet, shower, sink and vanity. There are slide-outs on either side of the living area, making it feel almost double in size when you’re parked at your campsite.

Another feature that upgrades the Dutchmen Kodiak is the king-sized bed in the master bedroom.

The 3321BHSL Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate has a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, with a tall mini fridge, 2-burner propane stove, sink, storage cabinets, and plenty of counter space with an overhead LED light and outlet.

Cook from the outdoor kitchen with the hatch to protect you from the elements, then head under the 18-foot adjustable power awning with LED lights.

There are outdoor speakers installed on the trailer to provide ambiance, and you can even install a TV with the prepped outdoor hookups and mount.

  • 13,500-BTU Ducted air conditioner and high output furnace
  • 4-person bunkhouse with secondary dinette
  • Upgraded Insulation Package
  • Wifi W/4G LTE Connectivity
  • Price: Starting at $50,968

3. Grand Design Solitude 377MBS

One of the more luxurious travel trailers with outdoor kitchens on this list is the Grand Design Solitude.

There are six floorplans with pull-out kitchens outside under the awning, but I think the 377MBS is the most unique and versatile, since it has a second bedroom with a tri-fold sofa bed, fold-down bunk in the loft above, a desk and a closet.

Like all of the Grand Design Solitude trailers, the 377MBS has a spacious living area with a sofa bed and theater seating in front of the entertainment center with an LED TV and fireplace.

There’s a free-standing dinette across from the kitchen, which is fully equipped with a 3-burner professional grade stainless steel cooktop with a built-in oven, a convection microwave, an oversized pantry with LED rope lighting, and a 18 cu.ft. four-door refrigerator.

The kitchen is one of the most residential in design, with real tile backsplashes and a large two-bowl kitchen sink with a single faucet and pull-out sprayer placed in the central island.

The single bathroom has everything you need in a compact space, with plenty of storage. In the main bedroom, the queen sized bed can be switched out for a king option, still with plenty of space to walk around.

There’s shelf storage and a full wardrobe closet, a second closet that’s prepped for a stackable washer and dryer, a pull-out ottoman, and a flip-top dresser beneath the LED TV.

Unlike some of the travel trailers on this list, where the outdoor kitchens are integrated into the body of the trailer, the outdoor cooking area in the Grand Design Solitude is a slide-out drawer that has a small sink and camp grill with a fold-out table for food prep and dining.

There’s a small shelf behind the sink and grill for additional space. While there isn’t an outdoor mini fridge, the huge 18 cu.ft. fridge inside will probably have all of the cold food storage space you’ll need.

The pull-out kitchen is centrally placed beneath the main 20-foot awning, with an outdoor shower nearby to make clean-up a breeze.

  • 35,000 BTU furnace, heat pump air conditioner upgrade optional
  • Bunkroom/office
  • Prepped for stackable washer and dryer
  • Price: Starting at $93,025

4. Jayco Jay Flight SLX 294QBS

Jayco is one of the top names in travel trailers, and they offer several models with an outdoor kitchen.

The Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS is a bunkhouse travel trailer that can accommodate up to 10 people if you choose the hide-a-bed option.

However, packing so many people into a small space is bound to put a lot of pressure on the kitchen, even if it is fully-equipped. Having an outdoor kitchen is certainly going to help.

There’s a queen-sized bed and dual wardrobes in the master bedroom, and a bench with storage space and an entertainment center in the dividing wall between the bedroom and living area.

A spacious, convertible dinette and hide-a-bed sofa take up the slide-out, expanding your interior space when you’re camped out.

You can cook meals just as you would at home from the interior kitchen, which has a spacious counter and sink area with a large 50/50 acrylic sink, brushed nickel faucets, and plenty of storage between the overhead and under sink cabinets. T

here’s a three-burner cooktop range with a glass cover, oven, and stainless steel microwave above.

Keep your fresh food cold in the 6 cu. ft. Norcold® stainless steel refrigerator with temperature controls, and store your dry food in the spacious pantry.

Across from the pantry, you’ll find the single bathroom in the trailer, although it is expertly designed for maximum space.

There’s a huge walk-in shower and spacious countertop with a vanity and sink beside the toilet.

The bunkhouse at the back of the trailer has four bunks and a large wardrobe and TV cabinet.

Outside the Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS, get cooking from your full-equipped outdoor kitchen, with a 2-burner camp stove and sink that slide out, and a tall mini fridge for your food and beverage storage.

Once the meal is ready, head under the 18-foot power awning with LED lights and speakers to enjoy your food in the great outdoors. There’s a hot/cold outdoor shower to assist with the clean-up.

Key Features & Price:

  • 13,500-BTU roof-mounted A/C
  • Premium multimedia sound system with MP3/iPod input jacks and Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Price: Starting at $31,766

5. Jayco White Hawk 26RK

The Jayco White Hawk 26RK is another Jayco travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen, and this floorplan is very unique.

The kitchen is at the back of the trailer, with a Furrion® 3-burner recessed glass cooktop range that includes an oven, a microwave, an extra-deep 8 cu.ft. refrigerator, and a deep, split bowl, stainless steel sink with high rise, pull out faucet and dry rack/ sink cover combo.

A single slide-out contains the convertible dinette (free standing table options available) and tri-fold sofa across from the large entertainment center and kitchen pantry.

The bathroom in this travel trailer is quite large, with a porcelain foot flush toilet, a 34-inch shower with solid door enclosure, vanity sink with overhead medicine cabinet, and linen closet.

In the master bedroom, which has its own entrance, there’s a queen bed and lots of storage between the over-bed cabinet, dual wardrobes, and additional closet.

Outside, the 20-foot power awning covers both doors and the fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, which has a 2-burner camp stove, sink with embossed metal countertops, tall mini fridge, and plenty of work space.

There are two marine-grade exterior speakers to provide ambiance while you cook and relax outside your Jayco White Hawk trailer.

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 35,000 BTU furnace
  • Rear kitchen
  • Large entertainment center w/ 40″ LED TV
  • AM/FM/CD/DVD/Bluetooth® stereo with speakers
  • JaySMART™ back-up assist lighting
  • Price: Starting at $44,378

6. KZ Sportsmen 333BHK

The KZ Sportsmen 333BHK is similar to the Dutchmen Kodiak, featuring a rear bunkhouse with a second dinette.

However, it has other layout features that make it unique, such as the angular bathroom design to maximize space and the kitchen island with a double sink and lots of counter space for food prep.

The central living and kitchen area is the heart of the KZ Sportsmen 333BHK, with a 70-inch sofa, spacious dinette, and large entertainment center that’s placed on the angled wall off of the bathroom for easier viewing throughout the room.

Across from the dinette, the kitchen island has seamless countertops and an undermount acrylic sink with sink covers and a stainless steel residential kitchen faucet with a pull-down sprayer.

The main cooking area has a three-burner cooktop and oven with a range hood and turntable microwave above in the overhead cabinet.

There’s also an 8 cu.ft. refrigerator, pantry and hutch for more storage. With two bedrooms, the KZ Sportsmen 333BHK is great for groups or families.

The bunkhouse can accommodate up to five, with three bunks and a convertible dinette.

At the front of the trailer, the queen master bedroom also has two wardrobes on either side of the bed, with overhead cabinets for extra storage space.

The single bathroom has a unique layout between the master bedroom and living area, with a shower and vanity sink along the sidewall, and the toilet placed between the doors exiting to the bedroom and living area.

Cook outside with the two-burner stove and sink, which slide out for convenient use.

There’s a tall mini fridge as well for storing your fresh food and beverages, with plenty of countertop space for food prep.

Enjoy your meal from under the smart arm power awning that has a drip rail and spouts to keep you dry if it’s raining.

The awning also has an LED light strip and exterior speakers to provide some tunes in your outdoor living space.

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 30,000 BTU furnace
  • Flip-down 71″ storage rack on rear bumper
  • Wireless Backup Camera System
  • Smart Arm awning with motion security sensor and wind sensor
  • Price: Starting at $24,995

7. Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI

Another travel trailer that maximizes a small space for residential-style living is the Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI.

Like the two previous trailers on this list, the LaCrosse 3360BI has a bunkhouse in the back that sleeps four, an island in the kitchen, and an angular bathroom layout.

The large 87-inch U-shaped dinette and comfortable sofa bed in the living area offer plenty of seating during the day and extra sleeping areas at night, so that the trailer can accommodate up to 8 people between the living area, bunkhouse, and queen master bedroom.

In addition to two shirt closets and lots of overhead storage, the master bed has underbed storage, a quilted residential bedspread, an “Evergreen” select mattress, and even its own heat and air conditioning vents.

Comfort and beautiful design are key aspects of the Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI, with premium vinyl flooring and pre-drilled cabinetry with solid wood core framing and Shaker-style cabinet doors with glass inserts throughout.

The 82-inch interior ceiling height is certainly a perk, offering “walk in” height in the oversized MAX slide-out.

The kitchen is also equipped and styled for everyday use, including a three-burner Furrion residential cooktop, a 30-inch convection microwave, and an 11 cu.ft. stainless steel 12-volt refrigerator.

Fixtures and storage throughout the kitchen are designed with residential appeal, from the solid surface countertops and single-bowl stainless steel sink with J-spout faucet, to the brushed nickel fixtures and black hardware.

There’s even a MAX storage drawer below the stove for your oversized pots and pans, and a decorative pendant light above the island.

But a top appeal of camping in a travel trailer is your access to the great outdoors, and it’s especially important to have some outdoor living space when you’re traveling with lots of people.

The Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI has a 17-foot power awning with LED lights and a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen to expand your options out into the natural beauty of your campsite.

Step outside to cook in nature from the outdoor kitchen, which has a stainless steel cooktop and tall mini fridge, as well as overhead cabinets and countertop space for storage and meal prep.

There’s an outside shower handy to help you wash up after your meal. The trailer has LED-lit marine-grade exterior speakers and is even prepped for a TV with a bracket and hook-ups.

  • 15,000 BTU Air Conditioner and 30,000 BTU High Capacity Gas Furnace
  • Large 50” LED TVs and an AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo w/HDMI pass-through
  • Oversized MAX living room slide-out
  • Winegard 360 Air 4G Antenna
  • Price: Starting at $32,995

Cooking outdoors is great, isn’t it? There’s just something about preparing food in the open air that makes it taste better.

small travel trailer with outdoor kitchen

One of the advantages of RV camping is that you can have a kitchen available wherever you go. This is especially handy at those sites that don’t allow campfires. And don’t worry, you don’t have to buy a huge rig or long trailer just to have a place to fry up some burgers.

If you only camp a few times a year, or spend your weekend tailgating before the big game, or don’t want to stink up your camper with cooking smells …  an outdoor kitchen might be your best choice.  And if you’d rather not buy a new 1-ton truck just to haul your trailer, good news! We just happen to have a list of some great lightweight trailers with outdoor kitchens!

Important Note

Weight ratings can be confusing. Look for these terms:

  • GVWR:  The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the maximum weight a vehicle can carry. This includes passengers and cargo (but not trailers) for cars and trucks, and cargo for trailers. Trailers may have this listed under the label GTW (Gross Trailer Weight) to avoid confusion.
  • GCWR:  The Gross Combined Weight Rating is the maximum amount of weight a car or truck can handle safely, including all passengers, cargo, and fully-loaded trailer.
  • UVW:  The Unloaded Vehicle Weight is the total weight of a vehicle as it comes out of the factory, before any passengers, cargo, or aftermarket accessories are added.
  • TW:  The Tongue Weight is the amount a weight your vehicle can support at the trailer hitch. This is important when determining how to load the trailer.

You can learn more about RV weights and capacities here.

Important-er Note

Your towing capacity is only as strong as the lowest-rated component! It doesn’t matter if your truck can tow 6,000 pounds if your trailer hitch is only rated for 3,000 pounds.

Learn more about  why the weakest link breaks the chain in towing.

Important-est Note

If you have any questions about weights or towing capacities, talk to the dealer or manufacturer before you head out to the wilderness!

BEST LIGHTWEIGHT CAMPERS WITH OUTDOOR KITCHENS OF 2022

Now that the PSA is done, let’s jump into the list! These trailers are all under 5,000 pounds, so they can be towed with a standard SUV or large passenger car (always check your specs).

Please note: This list doesn’t include traditional teardrop campers, virtually all of which have an outdoor galley kitchen! However, teardrops offer  sleeping room only.  There’s no room to stand up inside!

In no particular order,  meet the winners!

DIY OUTDOOR KITCHENS

If your trailer didn’t come with an outdoor kitchen,  you always have the option to build your own.  If you have an empty storage cubby available, you can, at minimum, put a folding or pull-out shelf there to hold a grill.

small travel trailer with outdoor kitchen

If you want a more permanent spot for your grill, search for  “bumper grill”  on Amazon to see a variety of options. Combine this with an  LP quick-connect  and you’re ready to cook in no time.

If you’re not comfortable building your own, why not  chat with a custom RV builder?

NOT A TRAILER, BUT…

It deserves a mention, just for being neat. A  full slide-out kitchen  is one accessory manufacturer  Rivian  intends to offer for its electric trucks. The entire setup is housed in a built-in storage area in front of the rear wheels.

Specs include a two-burner range, full sink, plenty of prep space, and—incredibly—a full set of utensils and cookware in dedicated drawer slots. A raised tent can be added to the truck bed as well for an ultra-compact home away from home.

This is just a small sample of the lightweight trailers with outdoor kitchens that are available. One thing RV manufacturers are good at is giving you plenty of choices when it comes to floorplans and amenities, (not to mention all of the options you get when you have a camper or trailer custom-built).

As always, remember that camper manufacturers are constantly changing and replacing models, so if you can’t find one we listed here, you’ll probably find something close (failing that, there’s always the Used Camper ads.) Good luck, and happy  camping  cooking!

What Makes A Travel Trailer Ultra Lightweight?

First of all, you need to understand that camper trailers are usually more affordable than RVing. Basically, it’s easier to tow a travel trailer with an SUV or a truck.

Although our focus is on ultra-lightweight units, it’s still important to know about some other features and designs.

Sadly, owning a trailer model that lacks your primary necessities or won’t let you make adjustments could be a major setback.

A Point to Note About the Weight of a Camper Trailer

What Makes A Travel Trailer Ultra Lightweight

Large trailers weighing over 3000 pounds are usually bigger in size; hence, they’re more likely to slow you down.

Most tow vehicles are best paired with a travel trailer of 2,000 pounds weight or less to avoid being slowed down. Now, it is always easy to check the actual weight of a trailer , but it’s worth noting that it is the dry weight or unloaded vehicle weight (UVW) that is usually checked.

By the time you have added your camping/travel accessories, you’ll undoubtedly exceed the 2,000 pounds mark.

You will basically need to go with some basic amenities, such as water, propane, generator, groceries, sleeping mats, air conditioner, etc.

Some standard travel trailer also features hardwood cabinets and solid-surface countertops in the indoor kitchen, a vaulted ceiling, a bike rack, a glass-top stove with an oven, a four-seater booth dinette, a storage cabinet, a full-size bed with overhead storage, etc. All these will undoubtedly contribute to the overall weight of the camper.

In other words, the gross weight of your travel trailer totally depends on your needs. Luckily, most travel trailer brands usually specify the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), which stands for the maximum allowable weight of a loaded vehicle.

Does Floor Plan Affect Travel Trailer Weight?

Coachmen Apex Ultra-lite 293RLDS floorplan

Yes, the floor plan and layout often determine the size of a travel trailer. A well-designed floor plan is highly necessary as it could either make your trailer lighter or heavier.

For instance, some people like to include household items while traveling, such as loaded bathrooms, equipped kitchens, storage space, a sink and a stove/grill with extra storage cabinets, dining area, countertop space, tall mini fridge for beverage and food storage, drawers, etc.

In some models, users can also pull out a portion of the wall to create larger spaces. While space is limited, you can also plan how to install an off-the-ground sleeping area or a stove in the trailer.

With a great floor plan, you can also include roof vents, solar panels, an outside grill, a WiFi booster, etc. This is why the ultra-lightweight trailer models are the best because they maintain a low profile outdoors.

Additionally, an excellent floor plan and manageable weight make it easier to set up the camper trailer at camping grounds, especially at small campsites. Aside from that, a trailer is also more convenient to set up than a tent.

With this mobility, you have the freedom to quickly pack your gear and move to another location when needed.

Other Factors That Affects The Weight of a Trailer

Materials and construction.

Travel trailers come in different types of construction, including fiberglass and aluminum constructions.

The materials and construction of a trailer pretty much add up to its unloaded weight. A standard travel trailer is expected to have solid, sturdy walls, even if it’s ultra-lightweight.

This will enable the travel trailer to remain intact during unexpected weather changes or long hours of travel. Furthermore, tough and rigid walls should be able to provide insulation from cold or noise.

Convenient Towing

While travel trailers are created to be highly spacious, they should also be towable. The experts recommend using an SUV or minivan to tow trailers weighing 2000 pounds or less.

Economical Features

Do you remember the popular saying that “less is more?” This is where it comes into play.

Smaller camping trailers tend to consume fuel slowly, leading to lower operational costs. Meanwhile, larger units will cost you more on both fuel and maintenance.

In terms of fuel economy, travel trailers are approximately 2 to 3 MPG better compared to RVs.

That said, it’s also worth mentioning that towing a loaded trailer reduces the fuel efficiency of a towing vehicle by a few miles per gallon.

Therefore, owning an ultra-light travel trailer with outdoor kitchens means that your towing van will not need up to 8 to 10 MPG when towing. That’s not all; a lightweight trailer also means less space for your AC unit to cool or heat.

You need the best ultra-light travel trailers with outdoor kitchens when next you are going on a vacation or camping, for three reasons:

Firstly, they are chock-full of basic amenities, yet they are lightweight.

Secondly, unlike other gigantic trailers that require massive vehicle horsepower to pull them around, these trailers are towable even with smaller vehicles without hassle.

Thirdly, a lightweight trailer with an outdoor kitchen provides an additional area to cook something with a distinct smell, or you don’t want to heat the inside of your RV. You should also aim at going for a travel trailer that lets you choose your own floor plan.

After all, with so much to gain and nothing to lose, you should give these trailers a shot. But always remember to know your trailer’s carrying capacity.

Find Your Own Small Campers With Outdoor Kitchens

Find Your Own Small Campers With Outdoor Kitchens

It’s crucial to think about where you’ll prepare when traveling in an RV. Campers have a wide range of alternatives, including buying food along the way, cooking in the trailer, utilizing a fire pit, or using an outside kitchen. It’s simpler than you may imagine to find tiny campers with outdoor kitchens, and there are lots of wonderful choices.

Being lighter and simpler to tow with regular vehicles, small RVs and trailers are fairly popular. A little trailer can be driven on the road without a powerful truck. They frequently have outdoor kitchens due to their modest size because the inside floor plan cannot accommodate them.

What Does An Outdoor Kitchen Include?

You must take into account your needs in order to determine which amenities and appliances you need in a travel trailer outdoor kitchen, such as:

  • cooking equipment (whether it has a grill, stove, or is only equipped with propane hookups for your camp stove)
  • food preservation methods, like an outdoor mini-fridge
  • space for cooking and dining (some even have a sink and/or an outdoor shower)

The travel trailer’s existing outdoor living rooms complement many outdoor kitchens.

A motorized awning is a standard feature in almost all new travel trailers, and many now come with LED lights, outdoor speakers, and sometimes even entertainment centers.

Best Small Campers with Outdoor Kitchen

You’ll want to enjoy all of nature’s benefits when you’re exploring on the open road including camping in a travel trailer.

Why restrict yourself when the weather is great when cooking inside can prevent you from enjoying the scenic vistas outside? Be sure to check for a travel trailer with an outside kitchen while you search for the ideal unit for your trips. After much study, we discovered some of the top campers with outdoor kitchens.

With your mobile home just a few steps away, these trailers come fully furnished and equipped with everything you require to cook and eat outdoors. Additionally, a lot of them offer great outside entertainment options like an awning with LED lights, outdoor TVs and music systems, and more. Discover the best travel trailer floorplans with outdoor kitchens by reading about them.

Essentials for a Better Outdoor Kitchen Dining Experience

Traveling around with an outdoor kitchen is not enough if you lack some few good stuff that you may always bring with you. If you are capable of bringing some more things during your travel, here are some notable equipment that may make your journey and cooking experiences better when you travel!

Blackstone Grill

For your recreational vehicle outdoor kitchen, a Blackstone Grill can be a nice alternative if you’re seeking for something that is simple to transport for camping. No other grill in this area can equal the incredible 35,000 BTU output of this excellent grill when it comes to heat output.

The fact that the 35,000 BTU is divided between two independently running burners is now its strongest feature. Last but not least, these burners can simultaneously cook two quite different dishes at various temperatures and rates.

Bumper Mount Grill

A simple alternative for travel trailers is to place a bumper grill to the RV’s bumper. You’ll appreciate how portable it is in general and how simple it was to store given its size.

If you want to cook outside your RV, this is an excellent device to have. The majority are made of 14-gauge steel for dependable endurance. It is simple to attach on any 4″ box beam RV bumper. Finally, the arm’s two pivot points will enable you to safely maintain a safe distance from your car.

Screenhouse Over Picnic Table

The struggle with insects, particularly mosquitos, puts the kibosh on picnics and outdoor dining when it refers to camp cookery. Picnic table screen houses can have a magnetic entrance, mesh walls, and a roof to prevent the sun and insects out. They are made to fit over a standard-sized picnic table.

When attempting to prepare your food, the front and back doorways can have self-closing magnetic doors for hands-free access and leave.

Small Fridge

When you merely need to store drinks for the kids, beer, wine, and snacks, an outdoor kitchen fridge is ideal because it’s so convenient to have them adjacent to your outdoor dining area.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Let’s discuss the following queries and worries that so many campers have regarding what they are permitted to and are not permitted to have with an RV outside kitchen.

Can you put an outdoor kitchen in an RV?

You are absolutely gonna adore this information if you are a DIY enthusiast. There are various inexpensive ways to install an outdoor kitchen, such as by buying a portable outdoor cooking unit for camping.

GCI Outdoor Master Cook Portable Folding Camp Kitchen is the seller of this outdoor RV kitchen on Amazon. It is a foldable, portable outdoor cooking area with a counter for a grill or camping stove as well as drawers for cookware and cooking accessories.

Another approach to appreciate nature is to prepare a meal outside in the open air, whether you grill or use a griddle. A nice evening activity is preparing dinner for the family while watching the hummingbirds and dragonflies.

What comes with an Outdoor Kitchen for an RV?

Manufacturers of travel trailers provide a variety of outdoor kitchens, although the most come with a grill and/or sink. The better ones have an outdoor kitchen with a Coleman grill, a small refrigerator, a sink, and extra cabinets or storage!

The accompanying travel trailer floorplans that have been mentioned all offer some form of facilities for you to cook and enjoy delectable meals from anywhere – indoors or outdoors – if you are thinking about buying a travel trailer with external kitchen features and equipment.

What aspects of an Outdoor Kitchen are most important?

The fridge as well as counter space are what camper owners with outside kitchens utilize the most, according to a survey. They definitely value the convenience of being able to get a refreshing drink without going inside. The majority also set up food while entertaining visitors on the little counter space.

The stove is the next item, although a common issue is that many models don’t have enough burners or don’t allow you to install a grill grate. If you want to prepare food for a large group outside, search for a kitchen with three or four burners and a location where you can hook up a gas grill. The cabinetry or shelving in the outdoor kitchen section is a detail that many purchasers frequently ignore. Instead of attempting to find space inside for large cookware and utensils, it is far more practical to keep them outside.

Last but not least, think about where the outdoor kitchen will be. Despite the fact that individuals adore their camp kitchen, many complain about where it is located. Although having a kitchen close to the camper door may appear convenient at first, it might become a traffic jam if guests are constantly entering and exiting the vehicle while you are cooking.

Even when there are no problems, many individuals feel uneasy cooking outside under their awning. It’s also preferable to have a separate space away from the awning so that the family may congregate there with chairs and tables. The best of all worlds is a sizable hatch door that opens above your outdoor kitchen. It still offers cover from the sun and mild rain while keeping heat away from the awning.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Conclusion: Is an Outdoor Kitchen Worth it?

You might be wondering if an outdoor kitchen is worth as a feature for your RV. While we can easily say yes, there are also a lot of factors that may affect the answer for this question which will still be dependent on your needs and requirements.

Since a free-standing camping kitchen setup provides significantly more area for food preparation, many RVers prefer to cook there. Other RVers might not require such a facility because they don’t cook at all.

You might wonder: what is included in an outdoor kitchen?

Most outdoor kitchens that are integrated into campers are small and have little to no counter space. The majority of RV camp kitchens do not feature grills, as several campers like, but rather gas stovetops.

The majority of kitchens just feature a stove, sink, or fridge, whereas larger kitchens will also have cupboards, drawers, a sink, and a refrigerator with an icemaker.

The convenience of outdoor kitchens is great. Along with your stove, which you must bring, it also has a refrigerator, a sink, and cabinets.

You can get a drink as well as clean your hands without going within the camper even while you’re not dining. With this function, less foot traffic is created and your camper is kept clean.

The RV lifestyle definitely includes outdoor cooking, however, using charcoal grills or open fire pits is filthy and stressful. Grease, scents, and heat are all left behind when cooking inside the camper. A camper with an integrated outdoor kitchen and a gas grill or stove makes cooking at the campsite much more fun and preserves the interior of your trailer.

Therefore, if you’re considering purchasing a new recreational vehicle, choose one of the top models listed above that includes additional kitchen room. There is a fantastic travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen ready for you to find, regardless of the size camper you want!

Coachmen’s Freedom Express lineup brings another contender with a beautiful camp kitchen that’s built with quality in mind. Do You Really Need A Travel Trailer With An Outdoor Kitchen?

We see people camping in travel trailers with outside kitchens all the time and we have found that not all outdoor kitchens are the same.

Some outdoor kitchens are loaded with awesome features like a compact fridge and freezer, cooktop, sink, cabinetry, electric coolers and the list goes on. Others only have a small compact fridge…

As an example, some manufacturers will build a travel trailer floorplan that includes an outdoor kitchen. However, the kitchen is so watered down that it’s almost extraneous. Rest assured, floorplans with minimal outdoor kitchen features did not make this list.

Top 10 Used Travel Trailers with Outdoor Kitchens

A previously owned travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen is by no means a rarity, however. Think of it more along the lines of “uncommon”. The list of 10 below not only features travel trailers with outdoor kitchens but also some of the best amenities the industry has to offer.

Are Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens Worth It?

If a travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen is on your list of musts, then it’s absolutely worth it. Cooking outdoors is such a huge part of the American identity, especially while camping, that it’s hard to argue with the existence of some of them in RVs.

In simple terms, if you want it, then it’s worth it. An outdoor kitchen is an extra—an amenity that isn’t necessary. Its value is in its convenience to the consumer who loves cooking outdoors.

For those who feel like they take up too much interior space, that’s true, to a degree. However, some of the travel trailers on this list sleep up to 10 people.

For those who prefer to bring their portable cooking equipment along for the ride, you still have to find a place for it when it’s not in use. That includes eating up storage space that might better be used in other ways. Travel trailers with outdoor kitchens solve that problem.

Final Words About Used Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens

Travel trailers with outdoor kitchens are an outdoor luxury. Sure, it takes up some interior space, but so will anything you have to bring if you want to cook outdoors and lack the built-in feature. Cooking outside is so inextricably linked with camping, it’s hard to imagine not having this amenity.

If you love to cook and socialize outdoors and prefer to use your storage for other purposes, any one of the travel trailers on this list is perfect for you.

Perfect Campers

The 14 Best Small Travel Trailers

small travel trailer with outdoor kitchen

Even though more people than ever before are hitting the open road and experiencing the exhilaration of overlanding, not everyone has the financial means to purchase a recreational vehicle, an Airstream Classic, or a rig that was built specifically for them. A solo weekend excursion may be enough to satiate the need for adventure in some people (even if it results in new levels of wanderlust).

Small travel trailers are an excellent choice for individuals who yearn for the thrill of exploration but do not have the resources or the space necessary to maintain the typical large vehicle associated with a bigger travel trailer.

If you’ve always had the urge to hit the open road and see the world, purchasing a small travel trailer might be the best option for you. You can attach one of these compact trailers to the back of your car and travel with all of the comforts of home.

But how do you determine which of the numerous available choices is most suitable for you? This article will examine the best compact travel trailers that are currently available on the market and provide helpful guidance for selecting the travel trailer that is best suited to meet your requirements. When you look at these mobile homes, you won’t be able to help but daydream about hitting the open road for a cross-country adventure or a quick weekend getaway.

The class of vehicles known as small travel trailers has its own distinct personality. Large corporations compete alongside newer, more nimble businesses. We will use the following definition of compact travel trailers for the purposes of this discussion:

Mini-campers are available at a reasonable price, with many models retailing for less than $10,000. On the other hand, the price will be significantly higher if there are any conveniences (like a bathroom) present. On the other hand, given their diminutive size and low weight, they are remarkably simple to manipulate. In addition, the overwhelming majority can be transported using a standard automobile.

In this article, we will be focusing on lightweight camping trailers that have a GVWR of less than 3,550 pounds and a length of less than 23 feet. These are the types of trailers that can be easily towed by a midsize truck or SUV (and in some cases, even a regular sedan) to fit in an average-sized garage.

Although the Basecamp does not look like other Airstream travel trailers, it is built to meet the high-quality standards of the company. In fact, its low profile and aerodynamic shape naturally lower wind resistance.

In a time when sleek forms, industrial materials, and vintage aesthetics are all the rage, it’s no surprise that Airstream trailers are selling like hotcakes. This is all expertly blended in the Airstream.

Their signature curved metal architecture is not only striking in appearance but also expertly crafted. It’s no different for the Airstream Basecamp. Both of these floor plans make the most of their 16 square feet by providing spacious interiors and well-considered layouts.

There is also a wet bathroom and bench seating that converts into a full-size bed inside the Basecamp. The front kitchen has a two-burner gas stove, a sink, a microwave, and a small refrigerator.

The Airstream Basecamp lives up to its reputation for style and functionality. The solar front window protection and the three-inch lift kit are two of our favorite eye-catching features, as they keep the interior cooler on hot, sunny days and increase off-grid driving clearance.

Since 1972, Minnesota has produced the iconic Scamp Travel Trailer. Instead of mass production, each coach is built to the customer’s specifications. They can select the size, layout, and interior features that they want.

According to some owners, the construction took only a few weeks. The interactive aspect of the experience was what they enjoyed the most. Throughout the process, the manufacturer sent pictures and responded to questions.

Customers can pick up their finished unit at Scamp’s headquarters in Backus, Minnesota. If a customer is unable to arrive, Scamp will go above and beyond to assist them. The RV can be delivered to the customer anywhere in the continental United States.

Scamp comes in three different sizes. The 13- and 16-foot models are small travel trailers, while the 19 is a fifth wheel. Each size has a standard version and a deluxe version. The 13-footer has two layouts, while the 16-footer has five. Some models have combined toilet and shower wet baths, while others do not.

Each trailer has its own set of costs. Scamp does not publish its starting prices. Some owners have discussed their pricing on internet forums. These prices have generally ranged from $15,000 to $20,000, depending on the model, package, and additional features selected.

The 13-foot standard layouts include either a sofa or a dinette up front. The first layout includes a sofa that can be converted into a bunk bed. The second layout swaps out the sofa for a wet bath and a second closet. In the deluxe version, you can choose between a dinette and a wet bath.

The rear dinettes that fold out to form the master bedroom remain constant. They also have full kitchens with sinks and small refrigerators.

Standard models provide a more basic approach to camping. Additional packages include a 1.9 cubic foot refrigerator in kitchens. Many electronic features, such as TV hookups, are optional. Customers who want to customize their amenities can choose from these models.

Deluxe models have a more comprehensive package offering than standard models. Larger features and amenities are available. Many electronics, such as TV hookups, air conditioners, vinyl flooring, and other high-end features, can be added.

KZ RV Escape

  • 2.690- 3,820 pounds dry weight
  • 18.10- 27.3 feet in length
  • There are 11 different floor plans to choose from.
  • There is room for up to ten people
  • $11,995- $29,300

The KZ Escape series is the most adaptable on our list. Seven of the 11 floor plans meet our definition of small travel trailers. There are hybrids, slideouts, and even a toy hauler that are 22 feet or less long.

KZ created this series with everyone in mind. One of their models is aimed at off-road enthusiasts. The E191BH is taller and has 15-inch mud tires. It also has heated holding tanks that are electronically controlled, which is useful for off-season camping.

The E171MB has a one-of-a-kind storage feature. A storage space with both inside and outside access is located on the slide-out that houses the refrigerator. There is also a queen-size Murphy bed that shares space with a sofa. A full kitchen and bathroom complete the interior of the coach.

The E171 MB is 19.8 feet long and weighs 3,170 pounds dry. This coach will be easy to tow with your midsize SUV.

Little Guy Travel Trailers

  • 17 to 21 feet in length
  • 1,993 to 3,140 pounds dry weight
  • There are 17 different floor plans to choose from
  • Sleeps up to three people
  • $20,000- $30,000

The teardrop trailer was given new life by Little Guy Trailer Company, which brought it into the modern era. This RV manufacturer has introduced a fully functional teardrop with all the latest amenities. They honor the teardrop’s heritage by adhering to the maximum weight that a car can tow.

The Little Guy Mini Max is a lightweight RV that still has all the amenities of a larger model. A complete kitchen is hidden within the light maple hardwood cabinetry. A top-of-the-line four-cubic-foot refrigerator is included. A refrigerator of this size is unusual in RVs of this size.

Max the Small Guy is only four feet in length and weighs around 1,900 kilograms. Many 21-foot trailers exceed this weight. The ability to use a compact SUV as a tow vehicle is a great feature of this coach.

The dinette’s adaptability is one of its best features. Usually, they can be transformed into a double bed. This one can be set up with either two twin beds or one queen bed, depending on your preference. Hydraulics support the dinette as it slides along the bed’s slats to create a flat surface in the middle.

These coaches’ soaking showers were designed with care. Toilet paper wrappers are impervious to water. The water-saving shower uses only 2.20 gallons per minute. This roomy bathroom ensures that no one will accidentally brush up against the toilet while getting cleaned up.

The Little Guy Max was named Best in Show at the RVIA National RV Trade Show by RV Pro Magazine in 2018. The winning RV manufacturer had a throwback look but also included cutting-edge amenities and plenty of space.

Forest River R-Pod

  • Length: 18.4–22.2 feet
  • Dry Weight: 2,497–3,600
  • 15 unique layouts are available.
  • Sleeps a maximum of 4
  • $14,500- $30,000

In 2018, Forest River marked ten years of manufacturing the R-Pod. This RV borrows many features and amenities from its more expensive siblings. There’s an R-Pod perfect for you and 14 others just like it, all with different layouts.

Numerous basics are bolstered in the ten-year celebration bundle. Some examples include built-in audio from Furrion, solar power outlets, and seamless granite countertops. There is also a handy hook on the frame for your dog’s leash, which is a popular addition.

Permanent queen-size beds are standard in most room layouts. Dinettes that fold out into beds, bunk beds, and murphy beds are some of the additional sleeping options. The R-coach Pod’s is renowned for its innovative use of space. That’s why it’s lasted so long at the top of the charts.

A solar panel system consisting of a 110-watt panel and a 1,000-watt inverter is a popular upgrade. A fully functional outdoor kitchen can be added to some models right from the factory. If you want to make the most of your outdoor space, the R-Pod comes with a screen room that can be attached to your awning.

Oliver Travel Trailers

  • Length: 18.5-23.6 feet;
  • Weight: 3,400–4,600 lbs.
  • It has 6 distinct layouts.
  • A maximum of three people can sleep here.
  • $48,900- $55,900

Those who have purchased an Oliver Travel Trailer (or “Ollie”) are automatically accepted into the group. Oliver manufactures trailers, which are available for purchase directly from the business. Only upon specific request do they create them. Trailers are manufactured in Hohenwald, Tennessee, and customers can pick them up there once they are finished.

Ollie currently produces Elite I and II. The Elite I has two layout options, while the Elite II offers four. There is either a fixed main bed or a dinette that converts into a bed. The third sleeping area can be a twin bed or a fold-down dinette for two.

Many of the amenities found in other popular RV brands are included in the price of an Ollie. Ollie stands out from the competition thanks to its many extra features. Dual awnings are a surprisingly viable alternative. One for the side of the coach near the door, and another for the side farthest from the door.

In addition, they provide food for thought. Condensation-fighting materials are made of specialized materials. Bicycle rack attachment points and outside storage baskets. Heating systems that use propane and electronic amplifiers for weak signals. There are a plethora of extras that can be purchased if desired.

After placing an order with a sales rep, a customer’s request will be sent to production. Your RV may take up to 10 weeks to be produced. When finished, the customer spends the first night in their new coach at the factory. Both the purchasing procedure and the trailer are one-of-a-kind.

Why Choose a Small Travel Trailer?

When it comes to travel trailers, there are endless sizes and models available on the market. However, small travel trailers have become increasingly popular in recent years for a variety of reasons.

Small travel trailers offer flexibility and freedom while traveling. Most vehicles can tow them without the need for a large truck or SUV. This means you can explore more remote areas that may not be accessible with larger RVs.

Small travel trailers tend to be more affordable than their larger counterparts. Not only is the initial purchase price lower but so are the ongoing costs, such as maintenance and fuel expenses.

Another advantage of choosing a small travel trailer is its compact size, which makes storage much easier when not in use. You won’t need an extra-large garage or storage unit to keep your trailer safe from damage during off-season months.

These smaller units often come with creative floor plans that maximize space efficiency, making them perfect for couples or families with one child seeking adventure on the road without sacrificing comfort and convenience.

There are many advantages to owning a small travel trailer for those who value flexibility, affordability, and unique design features while exploring different destinations across North America!

What to Look for When Buying a Small Travel Trailer

  • They are considered “self-contained” because everything you need is present in the trailer itself. There’s also a subset of trailers that are equipped only with outdoor kitchens.
  • There’s a cap of 23 feet on the enclosed trailer’s length. Even if it’s part of a line that also includes larger trailers, a travel trailer is still considered “small” if it’s shorter than 23 feet in length.
  • The maximum allowable dry weight is 3,500 pounds. The lightest trailers will be given priority. Due to their construction, some small campers can reach altitudes of 4,000 meters. Some of the trailers are too large or cumbersome to be considered “small travel trailers,” so keep that in mind. Below, we’ve highlighted the models that are too big to fit in our trailer.

How to Choose the Right Small Travel Trailer for You

When it comes to choosing the right small travel trailer, there are a few key factors to consider. First and foremost, think about your specific needs and preferences. Are you a solo traveler or do you have a family? How much storage space do you require? Do you prefer a compact design or something more spacious?

Next, consider the towing capacity of your vehicle. You’ll want to make sure that the small travel trailer you choose is compatible with your car or truck. Check the weight limits and ensure that your vehicle can handle it safely.

Another important aspect to think about is the layout and features of the trailer. Consider how many sleeping areas you need, as well as amenities such as kitchen facilities, bathroom options, and entertainment systems.

In addition to functionality, aesthetics also play a role in choosing the right small travel trailer for you. Look for designs and color schemes that resonate with your personal style and taste.

Don’t forget about budget considerations. Small travel trailers come in various price ranges, so determine how much you’re willing to invest in this adventure on wheels.

By taking all of these factors into account – your needs, towing capacity, layout preferences, aesthetics, and budget – you’ll be able to narrow down your options and find the perfect small travel trailer for an unforgettable journey ahead!

The Benefits of Small Camping Trailers

Small camping trailers offer a multitude of benefits that make them an attractive option for travelers. One of their main advantages is their compact size, which allows for easy maneuverability and flexibility on the road. With a small travel trailer, you can navigate narrow roads, fit into tight campsites, and even park in residential areas without much hassle. Another benefit of these trailers is their affordability. Small travel trailers are generally more budget-friendly compared to larger RVs or motorhomes. They require less fuel to tow and have lower maintenance costs. This makes them an ideal choice for those who want to explore the world on a limited budget. Additionally, small camping trailers offer convenience and comfort. Despite their size, they are equipped with essential amenities such as sleeping quarters, a kitchenette, storage space, and bathroom facilities (in some cases). These features ensure that you have everything you need while traveling without sacrificing comfort. Furthermore, small travel trailers encourage a minimalist lifestyle. Their limited space forces travelers to prioritize what they truly need for their journey and eliminate unnecessary clutter from their lives. This can lead to a more simplified way of living and promote mindfulness about consumption habits. Lastly but importantly, small camping trailers allow travelers to immerse themselves in nature. They provide opportunities for off-the-grid adventures where breathtaking landscapes become your backyard every day. Whether it’s exploring national parks or campgrounds off the beaten path, these compact trailers allow you to get closer to nature and experience its wonders firsthand. In conclusion: Small camping trailers offer numerous benefits, including maneuverability on the road; affordability; convenience; encouraging minimalism; and immersing travelers in nature’s beauty

The Drawbacks of Small Travel Trailers

When it comes to small travel trailers, there are certainly many advantages. However, it’s important to consider the drawbacks as well before making a decision. One of the main drawbacks of small travel trailers is their limited space. While they are perfect for solo travelers or couples, families may find them too cramped. This means less storage space for belongings and limited living space inside the trailer. Another drawback is that smaller trailers often have fewer amenities compared to larger ones. This could mean sacrificing certain luxuries, such as a full-size kitchen or bathroom facilities. It’s important to prioritize what features are essential for your travel experience. Small travel trailers also tend to have less stability on the road compared to larger ones. They can be more prone to swaying in windy conditions or when passing large vehicles. This may require careful driving and adjustments while on the road. Additionally, if you enjoy entertaining guests or having extra sleeping accommodations, a small trailer may not be suitable. These trailers typically have limited seating areas and only enough sleeping space for a couple or small family. Resale value can be another drawback of small travel trailers. As they are initially more affordable than larger models, their value tends to depreciate faster over time.

While these drawbacks should be considered when choosing a small travel trailer, they may not outweigh the benefits depending on your specific needs and preferences.

Small travel trailers offer numerous benefits for travelers who prefer a compact and efficient camping experience. They are easy to tow and maneuver, making them ideal for both novice and experienced campers. These trailers also provide a cozy and comfortable living space while allowing you to connect with nature.

In this article, we have explored the world of small travel trailers and highlighted some of the best options available. When it comes to choosing the right small travel trailer for your adventures, it’s important to consider factors such as size, amenities, weight capacity, and budget.

However, it’s essential to acknowledge that there are also drawbacks associated with small travel trailers. Limited space can be challenging if you’re traveling with a large group or carrying bulky equipment. Additionally, some smaller models may lack certain amenities or features found in larger RVs.

The decision on whether to choose a small travel trailer depends on your personal preferences and needs. Consider how much space you require, what amenities are essential for your travels, and what type of towing vehicle you have at your disposal.

To make an informed choice about which small travel trailer is best suited for you, take the time to research different brands and models. Read reviews from fellow travelers who have firsthand experience with these trailers.

Remember that finding the perfect small travel trailer is all about striking a balance between comfort and functionality during your outdoor excursions without compromising or breaking the bank.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Small Camping Trailer

When it comes to selecting a small camping trailer, several factors come into play. Understand these key aspects to narrow down your options. Once you have a grasp, it’s pretty easy to find a trailer that works for your camping style. Let’s get into the weeds:

Trailer Size and Weight

Begin by thinking about the size and weight of the trailer. It’s crucial to choose one that matches your vehicle’s towing capacity and still has enough interior space to keep you comfy. If you’re nervous about towing a travel trailer with your current car, consider that smaller trailers, like teardrops or pop-ups, are easier on your vehicle’s transmission. Larger campers provide more living space, but you may need to pay for a vehicle upgrade if you find that must-have travel trailer.

Small travel trailers can usually be towed with a light truck (Toyota Tacoma), a Jeep Wrangler, and/or a mid-sized SUV. In some cases, a crossover vehicle or even a 4-cylinder passenger small car can tow them.

Trailer Layout and Features

Do you know your camping style? Some camping fans prefer amenities like full-hookups. Others want to get as far from civilization as possible. Knowing how you want to live in the outdoors can help you identify the must-have travel trailer features that match your camping style. For some people that means buying a trailer with a well-equipped kitchenette. Other travel trailer owners only require a cozy sleeping area in their camper to be happy. And still some trailer owners must have slide-outs and foldable furniture to be comfortable. Before you review our best small travel trailers list below, first prioritize the RV features that align with your needs.

Reputation, Durability and Quality

Since your small camping trailer will serve as your home away from home, it’s crucial to choose one that is built to withstand the elements. Look for trailers made by reputable manufacturers known for their craftsmanship. Reading customer reviews and seeking recommendations can provide valuable insights. Consider the trailer’s insulation, construction, and overall build quality.

What’s Your Travel Trailer Budget?

Establish a realistic RV shopping budget for your small camping trailer. Remember, quality and additional features often come with a higher price tag. Striking the right balance between your budget and desired features in a small travel trailer is essential. Consider whether buying new or used fits your financial goals.

The Happier Camper HC1 is one of our favorite cool travel trailers. We love retro look but also appreciate its versatility.

For example, inside the all-fiberglass body, you’ll find the Adaptiv modular system. This feature easily lets you customize the interior layout of the small camper by using Adaptiv cube-shaped components. The Adaptiv components include a bench/bed, storage cubes, kitchenette, and many more. The sleeping space is suitable for 1 or 2 people only.

Safari Condo Alto

Safari Condo Alto off-road small camping trailer

The Safari Condo Alto is one of the more unique small teardrop trailers. What makes it so different is the retractable roof system.

Essentially the roof expands upward to add interior height.  You can easily go from 83.5 inches to 101 inches when the roof is open. It’s a great classic teardrop camper-looking design.

You can almost consider it a pop-up camper since the top actually pops up to increase interior headroom and space. Deinfitlet one to consider if planning any off-road expeditions.

The roof and walls are made of a plastic honeycomb core that is laminated with aluminum on one side and Alufiber on the other side.

Alufiber combines aluminum and fiberglass to create a durable lightweight material.

One interesting thing to note about the Safari Condo Alto is that they have intentionally used materials that water has little to no effect on. This camper mainly uses aluminum, Alufiber, plastic, Formica, and glass in its construction.

Safari Condo Alto R1723 interior.

When it comes to storage space it has just enough for most folks and quite a bit more than a typical teardrop camper.

12 Helpful RV Outdoor Kitchen Setup Ideas

THIS ARTICLE MAY CONTAIN COMPENSATED LINKS. PLEASE READ OUR DISCLAIMER FOR MORE INFO. THIS POST WAS WRITTEN BY JILL GREISING-MURSCHEL , A FAMILY TRAVEL AND RV LIVING EXPERT .

Are you planning on taking your RV experience to the next level? One way to do so is by setting up an outdoor kitchen in your RV.

How does this differ from having your kitchen from the default RV set up? Well, having an outdoor kitchen is more convenient and allows you to fully embrace the outdoor lifestyle and enjoy your meals in nature.

Aside from that, this RV kitchen idea setup may be the best for your lifestyle, as some prefer to cook and dine outside of their RV rather than staying inside.

As a former full-time RVer , I will never get used to how small the kitchen space is inside the RV. And if you’re like me who feels the same about this, creating an outdoor kitchen is worth considering.

Benefits of Having an Outdoor Kitchen in your RV

  • More space: By having RV outdoor kitchen mods, you can free up more space inside your RV for other essentials or activities.
  • No cooking smells: Cooking strong-smelling food like fish or bacon inside the RV can be a disaster. With an outdoor kitchen, you can cook these dishes without worrying about the lingering smell inside.
  • Embrace the outdoor lifestyle: An outdoor kitchen allows you to fully embrace the RV lifestyle and enjoy meals in nature with your family and friends.
  • Versatility: Depending on your setup, an outdoor kitchen can also serve as a barbeque or grilling station, making it perfect for hosting gatherings.
  • Keep your RV clean: Cooking inside the RV can lead to spills and messes. With an outdoor kitchen, you can keep your RV clean and tidy while enjoying delicious meals.

Now we’ve got that covered, let’s hop into some must have RV kitchen accessories and equipment you can try when building your own DIY RV outdoor kitchen ideas.

1. Portable Grill

This is a simple and budget-friendly option for creating an outdoor kitchen for RV. All you need is a foldable table, a portable grill , and some cooking utensils. The table can be easily stored when not in use, and the grill can also be used for other outdoor activities like camping or picnics.

However, some RVers have their outdoor kitchen for camper with a semi-permanent set up, so if you’re on stationary RV living , this example from Joyce Garrett where she uses this large Char-Broil Stainless Steel 4-Burner Cabinet Style Liquid Propane Gas Grill for her outdoor kitchen set up is a great inspiration.

2. Foldable Table

A foldable table is a lifesaver when you’re full-time RVing; aside from using it as a dining table, it can also serve as your outdoor kitchen counter or, bonus, a work desk!

Simply add a portable stove and some storage containers for your cooking utensils! You have an instant outdoor kitchen set up. This Lifetime Height Adjustable Craft Camping Table is popular among RVers due to its versatility and durability.

3. Outdoor Portable Sink

Well, to complete your outdoor kitchen setup, you might also need a sink for washing dishes and hands. An outdoor portable sink like this one from Amazon is a perfect addition to your RV kitchen. It has a foldable table and a sink that can easily be stored when not used.

4. Fridge or Cooler

Remember to keep your beverages and ingredients cool with a fridge or cooler. Depending on your space, you can choose between a compact fridge or a portable cooler that can be plugged into your RV’s power source.

This portable car fridge , for example, is an ideal choice for those with limited space but still want to keep their food and drinks cold.

5. Lighting

Lighting is essential for any outdoor kitchen setup, especially if you plan on cooking in the evening or at night. String lights are popular among RVers as they add a cozy ambiance to the space. Consider adding motion sensor lights for convenience and safety.

6. Microwave or Toaster Oven

For those who prefer a more convenient way of cooking, a microwave or toaster oven can be a great addition to your RV outdoor kitchen. Here’s an inspirational photo from Joyce Garrett for her outdoor kitchen with her microwave set up in a cabinet rolling cart for easy storage.

7. Storage Containers

Maximize the space in your outdoor kitchen with storage containers for your utensils, pasta, condiments, and spices. There are many compact and stackable options available in the market that are perfect for RV living.

9. Pots and Pans

Of course, you’ll need pots and pans for cooking. Opt for stackable or detachable handles like this one from CAROTE to save space in your RV kitchen. You can also consider getting a cast iron skillet for outdoor cooking and grilling. This versatile cookware can handle high heat and is perfect for cooking on a campfire or grill.

10. Ice Maker

An ice maker in your outdoor kitchen will save you from constantly running to the store for bags of ice. There are portable options available that can fit perfectly in your RV’s storage space. Plus, you’ll always have ice for cold drinks and cocktails.

11. Cast Iron Griddle

A cast iron griddle is another essential for your outdoor kitchen. It’s perfect for cooking breakfast foods like pancakes, eggs, and bacon and can also be used for burgers or grilled sandwiches.

If you don’t have a full-set RV outdoor kitchen grill like this, a cast iron griddle is the best substitute, and it adds that rustic feel to your camper outdoor kitchen. You can also place it on a portable stove or use it over a campfire.

12. Dish Rack and Drying Mat

Lastly, remember to bring a dish rack and drying mat for your outdoor kitchen. This will make cleaning up much more accessible and organized. You can place this near your outdoor sink or where you’ll be washing dishes.

There you have it: an easy outdoor kitchen for camper ideas to make your camping and RVing experience more enjoyable. With these accessories and equipment, you can create a functional and comfortable outdoor kitchen that will make cooking in your RV a breeze. Happy camping!

Happy travels!

15 Best Small Campers from Camping World

small travel trailer with outdoor kitchen

Small camper RVs include motorhomes and travel trailers that are typically 30 feet or less in length and are towed behind a vehicle. They can include anything from ultra-lite teardrop options and pop-up campers to those that are larger.

A mid-size SUV or crossover can easily pull most small campers, although you should always use our RV tow guide to look up the towing capacity of your vehicle before you buy any travel trailer.

15 Best Small Campers for Sale

So, what is the best small camper? There is no single answer. The best small camper for you will depend on what specs and amenities you need.

Your ideal small camping trailer may not be the lightest or shortest one because you need specific features, such as a bathroom or kitchenette. In other cases, you may want something like a pop-up camper for easy towing.

That said, here are our picks for the best small campers available at RV dealerships nationwide.

Popular Types of Small Campers

Below are popular types of small campers. The compact best small camper for you will depend on your budget, needs, and desired amenities.

Pop-Up Campers

Hard side pop up camper in Camping World dealership lot

Sometimes called “tent trailers” or “folding campers,” a pop-up camper is a compact trailer that’s easy to tow. Pop-up campers are an excellent fit for small families or couples who want to camp but aren’t interested in a tent. Most pop-up campers have a box-like structure, collapsible walls, and roofs that raise or lower with support poles.

Pop-up campers come in different sizes and amenities. They are typically equipped with a bathroom and kitchenette. Larger models may also have a dining area that can be converted into an extra sleeping space. Some will even have air conditioning and heating. What’s best for you will depend on your budget and how comfy you want to be while camping.

  • Easy to tow
  • Simple to set up
  • Limited space
  • Weather-dependent
  • Poor noise insulation

Teardrop Campers

NuCamp trailer in Camping World dealership lot

Teardrop campers have grown in popularity over the years because of their compact size and unique design. They’re an excellent option for people prioritizing mobility and cost-effectiveness over luxuries and spaciousness.

They’re a great fit for solo travelers on a budget or those with smaller vehicles. But for those who plan on extended trips, a larger option might make more sense.

Like any type of small camper, they have their own pros and cons:

  • Small and lightweight
  • Easy to tow and maneuver
  • Versatility for camping, tailgating, and more
  • Can comfortably fit two people
  • No bathroom or kitchen
  • Lack of storage
  • Not ideal for extreme temperatures

Lightweight Trailers

Lightweight camping trailer towed by SUV

Lightweight trailers straddle the middle ground between a teardrop camper and a full-sized travel trailer or RV. They’re often built with hard walls made of materials like fiberglass or aluminum. Set-up time is usually minimal: it typically requires unhitching the trailer from the towing vehicle and leveling before you open any doors or windows .

  • Sturdy camping option towable with most vehicles
  • Often offer basic amenities like beds, storage, and a kitchenette
  • Less expensive than traditional RVs
  • Limited space due to small size
  • Lack of insulation
  • Often lack bathrooms

Small Camper Bathrooms

If you’re in the market for a camper or camper trailer, you’ll need to decide if a bathroom is an absolute necessity. For those who plan on strictly visiting campgrounds with dedicated shower houses and bathrooms, it can be less of a requirement. But if your travel plans include truly “roughing it,” you may want to consider investing in a camper with a dedicated bathroom.

Wet Bath versus Dry Bath

RVs with wet baths have bathrooms that combine the sink, toilet, and shower in one space. Dry baths offer different areas for the sink, toilet, and shower. A wet bath is an all-in-one space where the entire room can get wet. A dry bath is like what you’d find at home.

Who Are Small Campers Best For?

Couple playing cards inside one of the best small campers

One of the best things about small campers is that they can be a great fit for several different types of people. They offer flexibility and convenience without sacrificing some of the most essential comforts, like cozy beds.

Buying a small camper or trailer might make sense if you’re one of the following types of people:

  • Solo travelers who want a cozy and comfortable living space
  • Couples who want basic amenities and a cozy space
  • Budget-conscious campers who don’t want or need the expense of a full-sized trailer or RV
  • Minimalists who want to travel light and keep things simple
  • Weekend warriors who take short camping trips over weekends
  • Outdoor adventurers who want to explore more remote areas but still have access to basic amenities

Not sure if a small camper makes more sense for your needs than something bigger? Research plenty of RV types with our comparison tools.

Pros and Cons of Small Campers

Need a quick recap of the pros and cons of small campers? Check out this list:

  • Easy towing and maneuverability: Small campers are typically easier to tow and maneuver than larger RVs or trailers, making them a good choice for those who are new to towing.
  • Affordability: Small campers are generally more affordable than larger vehicles, which can make them an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. This is especially true with competitive RV financing .
  • Fuel efficiency: Because of their smaller size and weight, small campers often require less towing power and thus get better gas mileage than larger vehicles.
  • Convenience: Small campers offer a convenient way to travel and explore the outdoors without having to worry about setting up tents or finding accommodations .
  • Limited living space: One of the biggest downsides of small campers is that they offer limited living space, which may not be sufficient for some travelers.
  • Fewer amenities: Small campers typically have fewer features and amenities than larger RVs or trailers, which may make them less appealing to those who prefer more luxurious camping experiences .
  • Less storage space: Because of their smaller size, small campers often have less storage space than larger vehicles, which can make it challenging to bring along all the gear you need.

Photo of author

Sharing time with the family is the best, and there is no need to have a huge RV. A small bunkhouse travel trailer is always an excellent choice for traveling with a family without dealing with the vehicle’s towing capacity or maneuvering long trailers. The smallest bunkhouses and bunkroom travel trailers on the market help families with individualized sleeping space, giving privacy to the parents. At the same time, kids stay up and play around, providing a comfortable layout when folding down sofas is unnecessary because you choose a bunkhouse with a good sleeping capacity. In this post, you will find a review of 15 Perfect Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers, Including Bunk Rooms, private master bedrooms, bunkhouses under 20 and 26 feet long, and lightest under 3000, 4000, and 5000 pounds on the current market. I encourage you to read each section of this post carefully, as we have specially categorized these floor plans. I am sure you will find at least one bunkhouse travel trailer that fits just what you are looking for and could be your next purchase. Let’s move on!

How small should a small bunkhouse travel trailer be considered SMALL? In general, we refer to small campers when we are talking about travel trailers under 20 feet long (even under 26 feet long still is considered small enough), and this shortness is also often combined with the lightest features keeping the bunkhouse travel trailer small and between 2500 and 5000 pounds (very lightweight).

Why Choose a Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailer?

Small bunkhouse travel trailers have advantages over huge RVs. First, they are easy to tow and park, which is a benefit, especially for inexperienced drivers.

Also, small travel trailers with bunkhouses are usually more affordable than large trailers or fifth wheel and will easily keep you on the budget. However, there are many expensive options if you are considering purchasing a luxury bunkhouse travel trailer but lightweight and with a great layout in a small floor plan. However, all that comfort, room, and convenience typically comes at a cost.

Every year more RV manufacturers make new bunkhouse travel trailers in the smallest campers. Some even design private bunkhouses (bunk rooms) in these small travel trailers, which is very beneficial when kids grow up.

The 15 Perfect Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers with bathrooms on the current market are listed below to ensure the entire family can enjoy a road trip.

We separate these fantastic small bunkhouse travel trailers into four categories , so you can easily find what you are looking for or go through all these remarkable floor plans. All the floor plans listed have a bunkhouse and a bathroom.

Clipper Ultra-lite 15CBH: Small Bunkhouse Trailer with Bathroom Under 2500 Pounds

Coachmen RV’s Clipper line has always been synonymous with being one of the best small bunkhouse travel trailers under 20 feet , plus the ability for RVers to have a lightweight trailer with a bathroom .

This time, the 2023 Clipper Ultra-lite 15CBH is a prime example of a lightweight, small bunkhouse travel trailer with a bathroom for a family of 4.

Almost any car and SUV can tow the 15CBH bunkhouse travel trailer. At only 2540 pounds, in addition to being a lightweight bunkhouse trailer , it is one of the smallest 4-person travel trailers with bathrooms on the market. Starting price at $ 16,000.

This floor plan offers features not usually found in small bunkhouse campers . On the outside, you will find a large pass-through exterior compartment allowing this small trailer’s interior to be more uncluttered, and a 10-foot-long powered awning with LED light on the edge.

To the right of the entry door, you will find a spacious booth dinette sized to 4 people (according to the sleeping capacity of this small bunkhouse), which can easily be converted into a queen-size bed. The dinette is also well placed to enjoy the entertainment center prepared with a cable TV hook-up and the optional fireplace offered by the Clipper 15CBH.

With no slides out, this camper has a versatile kitchen to prepare your meals without hassle and is suitable for the four people this small bunkhouse travel trailer can accommodate. The kitchen has a 2-burner stove, a microwave oven (optional), and a 3.0 cu. Ft. electric refrigerator is the standard option which can be upgraded by opting for the 3.3 CU. FT. 2-way refrigerator (gas/electric), a pantry, and a kitchen sink with sink cover that is useful for preparing meals.

Also, large overhead shelves and cabinets are distributed along the Clipper Ultra-lite 15CBH.

smallest bunkhouse travel trailers with bathroom under 20 feet clipper

At the rear of this small bunkhouse camper under 20 feet are the bathroom and the bunkhouse. One of the most spectacular things about this floor plan is that it is a lightweight small bunkhouse travel trailer with a bathroom , where it is also a dry bathroom, with a separate foot-flushable toilet and oversized shower (24″x36″), and all in only about 17 feet long .

The two 28″x72″ bunk beds have window curtains and USB charging ports for each. The bunkhouse is adjacent to the bathroom.

The standard floor plan of the Clipper Ultra-lite 15CBH includes a 20K BTU Suburban furnace, a 13.5K BTU roof-mounted air conditioner, and a 6-gallon gas/electric DSI water heater, making this camper one of the perfect small bunkhouse travel trailers with bathroom on the current market.

Jay Flight SLX 154BH: Small Bunkhouse Under 3000 Pounds

Jay Flight SLX 154BH is one of the finest small bunkhouse travel trailers under 20 feet that any Jayco camper owner would recommend .

Suppose you are looking to leap from sleeping in a tent or your family is growing. In that case, the Jay Flight SLX 154BH is one of those affordable and small lightweight bunkhouse travel trailers worth considering for the excellent quality of Jayco RVs and their customer service.

Comparing the Jay Flight SLX 154BH with the Clipper Ultra-lite 15CBH we are in the presence of two floorplans of small bunkhouse travel trailers with bathrooms which are very similar layouts, different interior color finishes, and different optional upgrades of both campers.

Some of the advantages to highlight in this Jay Flight SLX 154BH are the size of the 29″x75″ bunk beds, bigger than small bunkhouses, and the mirror in the bathroom, which I believe gives us the perspective of constantly improving Jayco. Starting price at $24,309.

Rockwood Geo Pro G16BH Bunkhouse Travel Trailer Under 3500 Pounds

Rockwood Geo Pro G16BH is one of the recommended small bunkhouse travel trailers , quite short, considering it is only 18 feet long . With almost the same length, under 20 feet, as the previous two bunkhouse travel trailers reviewed, but offers a slide-out kitchen and an outdoor grill making the Rockwood Geo Pro G16BH a more comfortable bunkhouse although with a little more weight, although light at under 3500 pounds .

As the floor plan below shows, five external compartments provide plenty of room for this well-prepared 4-person camper.

A bunkhouse and a king bed in a small, lightweight travel trailer are rare. However, the Outback Ultra-Lite 210URS travel trailer offers even more.

The central portion of this trailer contains a fully equipped kitchen, a booth dinette, a sofa sleeper, and a TV mounted on the RV wall.

The bathroom is spacious and located next to the front bunkhouse. Although this is a small travel trailer, it can accommodate up to 7 people.

While many features and finishes are luxurious, this floor plan does not have an outdoor kitchen or a private bedroom. Starting price at $49,201.

bunkhouse travel trailer with king bed

In this review of the 15 Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers with bathrooms on the current market, the next floor plan is manufactured by KZ RV and is the Escape 231BH, a bunkhouse travel trailer under 5000 pounds that can accommodate up to 5 people.

If you look at the size of the bunk beds throughout this review, from the 3 best small bunkhouse travel trailers under 20 feet we mentioned at the beginning of this post to the ones we have here, you will see that some options feature larger bunk beds. The size of the bunk beds is something to note about the Escape 231BH. They have the most oversized bunks of this post, 48″x72″ double-sized double bunk beds.

It is not uncommon to find double-sized bunk beds, but it is essential to know how comfortable it will be for the occupants of the bunks. Children grow up, and you may be looking for floor plans that will last for many years without the need to reinvest in a new trailer to adapt it to the size of teenagers.

2 Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers with Private Master Bedrooms

In this section, let’s review two amazing floor plans. Mallard M251BH by Heartland and Transcend Xplor 261BH by Grand Design . Both travel trailers have a private front primary bedroom and a fabulous layout different from each other and short enough, around 30 feet, to be on our list of the 15 Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers on the Current Market.

One of the main differences we review between these 2-floor plans is in the private main bedroom at the front of both bunkhouse travel trailers. The Mallard M251BH features a King master bedroom, while the Transcend Xplor 261BH features a Queen master bedroom.

Let’s check out these two amazing small bunkhouse travel trailers.

Mallard M251BH: Small Travel Trailer with Bunkhouse and King Bedroom

Mallard M251BH is a Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailer with a private primary bedroom and a King-size bed. With only 29 feet 8 inches long and about 6000 pounds of dry weight, this bunkhouse can accommodate up to 5 or 6 people .

On the exterior of this camper, you will find a kitchen, an 18-ft powered awning with LED lighting, and a colossal pass-thru storage (up to 67.5 cu. ft. of storage space).

You will find the bunkhouse at the left of the entry door with two comfortable bunk beds and a bathroom.

The dry bathroom has a foot-flushable toilet, a handwash basin with vanity which offers extra storage space, a medicine cabinet with mirror, a shower with a tub, a shower sliding door, a skylight in the shower, a large linen closet, and power vents. The space dedicated to this bathroom is fabulous; it feels very comfortable and has plenty of space to store things and keep them tidy despite being a small travel trailer.

At the right of the entry door, you will find a walk-in-pantry . That is another atypical feature found in small bunkhouse travel trailers.

Across from there, you will find the kitchen area and entertainment center opposite the slide-out booth dinette.

This center part of the Mallard M251BH has a very different layout than the Transcend Xplor 261BH, and our readers may find it interesting to compare these small bunkhouse travel trailers’ floorplans as the weight and length specifications of both are very similar but significantly different in the layout of the galley and living room.

small bunkhouses with king bedroom

The kitchen has a 3-burner cooktop, a traditional oven, a comfortable deep bowl kitchen sink with a high-rise kitchen faucet, and a 6-cu. Ft. sizeable double-door refrigerator (gas/electric).

At the front of this camper is the main bedroom with a king-size bed, an under-bed storage area, nightstands, and room to move around the bed. The bedroom is separated from the rest of the trailer by solid sliding doors that give it complete privacy.

More standard features worth to mentioned are a gas/electric 6-gallon water heater, a forced air heated and enclosed underbelly, a 13,500 BTU air conditioner, and a 30,000 BTU furnace.

Let’s move to the next option. In the following paragraphs, find out which small bunkhouse travel trailers are your favorite.

Transcend Xplor 261BH: Small Travel Trailer with Bunkhouse and Queen Bedroom

Depending on the specific options you choose on the floorplan, this travel trailer can accommodate up to 8 people and has a private primary bedroom, bunk beds, luxury features, etc. The most remarkable of all is that it is only 30 feet long . For all this and the quality that its name is synonymous with, Transcend Xplor 261BH by Grand Design RV is one of the Recommended 15 Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers for 2023 we review in this article. Starting price at $38,082.

As can be seen in the floor plan below, the exterior of this bunkhouse travel trailer features an outdoor kitchen, a 17-foot electrical awning, and ample storage compartments.

At the right of the entry door, you will find the private master queen bedroom. Solid sliding doors separate this bedroom from the rest of the travel trailer. The bedroom has nightstands and storage space under the bed and is prepared to mount a TV.

small travel trailers with bunkhouses 2023

In the center of this camper, you will find a long slide-out with a tri-fold sofa which can optionally be changed to theater seating. The kitchen appliances are located on the slide-out, giving the kitchen the entire corner area with a large surface area to move around and prepare gourmet meals.

Across from there is a booth dinette suitable for 4 people and a 32″ LED TV.

At the rear of this travel trailer is a bunkhouse with two large bunks and a full dry bathroom fully equipped.

While you walk through it, at no time does it give the impression that it is a short, small bunkhouse travel trailer of 30 feet. On the contrary, the bathroom is incredibly spacious, and the master bedroom is very comfortable. See it for yourself in the 360-tour below.

Bunk Rooms in Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers

Bunkhouse travel trailers are a great way to share memorable moments with our friends and family. However, when kids are growing as parents, sometimes, we prefer to start to separate spaces in the camper.

Therefore, giving the children privacy (and at the same time giving ourselves privacy) can make living together more satisfying. For example, if the children have their own private room, they can stay up late playing and talking when the parents are already resting in the master bedroom.

This way, the travel trailer with a bunkhouse room will be separated into at least two bedrooms and the living room, which may or may not be integrated with the dinette and kitchen, depending on the floor plan and the length of the camper.

When we review floor plans of travel trailers with a bunkhouse room , they generally tend to be long and often heavy. Nevertheless, some Private Bunk Rooms in Small Bunkhouse Travel Trailers are worth mentioning because they are only 30 to less than 34 feet long and are pretty short for a private bunkhouse floor plan.

2-Bedrooms Bunkhouse Travel Trailers Under 34 Feet

Let’s see these 2-bedrooms small bunkhouse travel trailers under 34 feet.

  • Sundance Ultra-Lite 291QB
  • Cruise Lite 273QBXL

What do These 2-Bedrooms Bunkhouse Travel Trailers Have in Common? What we will highlight about these two options is that both floor plans are small luxury travel trailers with 2 private bedrooms . One of the bedrooms is a bunk room, completely private, separated by solid doors, and located at the rear of the camper, opposite the private master bedroom at the front.

Both travel trailers feature a long slide-out that contains the booth dinette suitable for a large family and seats in front of the entertainment center.

In addition, both floor plans feature a centrally located fully equipped kitchen, plenty of storage compartments to keep your belongings organized, an outside kitchen, and a full bathroom adjacent to the bunkhouse.

What Are the Differences Between These 2 Small Bunkroom Travel Trailers?

While both are lightweight travel trailers of 6000 pounds dry weight , the Sundance Ultra-Lite 291QB is slightly shorter (only 31 feet long) than the Cruise Lite 273QBXL (just under 34 feet long). Although throughout the post, we have reviewed travel trailers with bunkhouses only 20 feet long or even less, these campers are short and light for the type of floor plan they offer and outstanding options for those looking for small luxury bunkhouse travel trailers .

small bunkhouse travel trailers with 2 bedrooms

Another difference between the two bunkhouse travel trailers is the layout of each bunk room. The Sundance Ultra-Lite 291QB features a bunkhouse with 2 bunk beds and a small dinette inside the bunk room . I personally consider this floor plan one of the best on the market. The dinette can be converted into an extra sleeping space or can be used for board games while enjoying the entertainment center inside this second bedroom.

One difference we can highlight between the two master bedrooms offered by these small bunkhouse travel trailers is that the Cruise Lite 273QBXL features a front king master bedroom instead of the queen master bedroom provided by the Sundance Ultra-Lite 291QB.

bunkhouse travel trailers with 2 bedrooms

Both trailers are worth a look. However, if you want to see more floor plan options with the best Bunk Room Travel Trailers, we recommend you follow the link to our newest post, where you can see: 13 Best Rear and Mid Bunk Room Travel Trailers for 2023.
