Tourist Cafe

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Having been living in Cooma now for six months the one place that’s always worth stopping in for a feed or a great coffee is the tourist. You are always greeted by beautiful staff with great dispositions, and an owner whom flies past you like... a butterfly just to say hello. Having been in this industry for 40 years, one knows how hard it is and how people struggle to be consistent, but these guys/girls always are. This not only shows great respect for the dollar you have spent, but these folks will always be glad to see you again, with there arms open. Don’t hesitate, this is by far the best cafe in this town for food and for coffee, drop by and say hi. More

We waited around 20mins for coffee and 50 mins for breakfast - waffles, a wrap and eggs benedict. It didnt appear to be extremely bisy but maybe they were short staffed or something. Thr food and coffee were really good though 👍👍👍

Big and spacious, quick and easy to order. Service fast and menu choices varied. Chips were delicious, soups were warming and tasty. Bagels are beautiful and servings were large. Pay at the xounter and take your number.

We ordered toast to sit down but it took 40 mins so I changed it to take away and still waited another 15 mins. Toast and bagel weren't even toasted. WT! And I wasn't alone. Ppl sitting were getting upset plus takeaway customers were irritated.... I was fooled by the place being busy.. there are better cafes go there. Sorry but you can't charge for sitting down and everything is late and not even toasted. More

Very welcoming owners and staff, quick friendly service, great food reasonably priced. We’re a group of friends on our way back from Perisher Valley and dropped in for morning coffee, cakes and yummy egg and bacon sandwich. Bathroom was very clean as well.

Don’t let the name turn you off, the coffee is fantastic and the menu is well rounded and reasonably priced. We wondered if “tourist cafe” was a bad name for a tourist trap with average food and coffee but when we walked in we were... pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting decor with plenty of seating options (we chose a booth seat facing the road for people watching). We’re really glad we gave this place a go, as we watched plenty walk past and give the name a pass. If I gave one piece of advice to the owners; revisit the name. It was the weak point of our decision to walk in (and we only did because it was closer to the car by one doorway!) Even tourists don’t want to be called tourists! :) I’m summary, glad we came! Will definitely be back when next in town for brekky! More

tourist cafe cooma

Found this little place by accident one Sunday morning, we were a bit skeptical as the place next was very busy and there were not many people here. We are so glad that we came here, the coffee was excellent just perfect and the meals... were very well priced and were really good. I did get a take away coffee from next door the previous day and had to wait a week for it to cool down so that I could drink it, so I am pleased that I found the tourist Cafe and their coffee was perfect. Staff were very friendly and obliging More

We stopped at the Tourist Cafe for lunch on a return trip from the snow. Service was fast and friendly. We all loved the hot chips which extremely tasty. Coffee and kids meals were all beautifully presented and devoured quickly.

Terrible service that ruined our day. We ordered at the front counter and decided to sit down out the front. After waiting for a while the waitress slipped and split a milkshake all down my front. Besides the embarrassment and being left in wet sticky... clothes, the staff refused to refund our payment. More

Very nice central location, with lovely helpful staff. The bacon and egg rolls are delicious, the chips are great, and I loved the potato scallops. The coffee is great. And the restroom is clean. Excellent place.

Visited the cafe this morning in cooma. As one of few open we expected a long wait which is not a problem.coffee arrived cappuccino and latte and it was awful. No taste of coffee more like dish water. Run out of cups so served in... take away.would never return. More

What a gem! Big range of menu choices - delicious food . Can highly recommend the Persian feta and pumpkin salad! Lovely friendly staff Highly recommended.

The name turned me off, but I came back because it was only one open. It was worth the return. Very friendly staff in pleasant facility, and the food was great.

Great find ... super clean and friendly and welcoming staff We had a good coffee and really enjoyed our breakfast. Bacon egg wrap and eggs Benedict on bagel special

Stopped at Cooma for brunch and found this little gem. Fantastic coffee and amazing eggs Benedict. Staff were all incredibly friendly and it was all very clean and well kept.

Getting along to this cafe was a perfect thing for breakfast. Scintillating cappuccino followed by soft and fluffy raisin toast.

Nice fresh decor is welcoming, as is the al fresco seating. Good range of dining options and lovely fresh cakes and muffins to go with your cuppa.

Normally we enjoy the service and meals here. Unfortunately not this time, our order got mucked up, when I asked for confirmation of the order the waitress said she would check, never came back. Never brought one of our drinks or another plate we requested. Just need to pay a little more attention to your customers. Still rated as the meal we got was good, just wasn’t what I ordered.

Fantastic staff, great atmosphere and good food. Ate breakfast here on the last day in town. The quality and quantity of food was excellent. Great coffee and atmosphere in the cafe. Definitely worth a return visit and we will eat here next time we're all in town.

Sensational food & service

Laura Williams

Sunday morning, I'm in need of caffeine. My partner and I decided to make a stop at Tourist Cafe and we definitely have no regrets. I asked for the biggest coffee they could give me and not only did they deliver, they were completely humorous and wrote "Big Coffee" on my drink. It not only put a smile on my face but I laughed so very hard. They also wrote "I'm really big too" on my partners large smoothie. Thank you so very much Tourist Cafe, you've made my day.

Nice Deco, good food, exactly as ordered, best coffee, good service. Exactly what Cooma has needed for a long time, nice n easy. Marked improvement on previous establishment.

Good variety of options in the menu, pleasant staff, tasty food and quick serve. Also good atmosphere and interesting interior design.

Melissa Heffernan

Amazing service and food. I highly recommend!!

Great food, fast service and nice coffee. Very clean cafe. Highly recommend

peter lupton

Beautiful food staff are lovely will go back every day

Naomi Nevin

Coffee was amazing 👌 Bagel soft and fluffy

All they are doing is serving hot milk and calling it a latte. Watch out if you are a coffee lover, all you will be drinking is hot milk! And to top it up the staff are too slow, had to wait 15 min for a take away coffee. Dissapointed!
