Inspection visits

If you would like to undertake a pre-tour inspection in Jersey in advance of booking your tour with us, we are happy to arrange this for you at cost price. We can arrange for you to visit the fixture venues, accommodation, and excursion providers so that you can complete any necessary risk assessments in advance of your main group tour.

All of our suppliers are experienced in dealing with school groups, and we ensure that the following standards have been met:

Excursions and Activities: We work with a number of trusted local activity providers. We have undertaken risk assessments on each of these providers to ensure that they satisfy the States of Jersey Health and Safety standards.

As a member of Protected Trust Services (PTS), you are always secure in the knowledge that your money is safe. All funds you pay for a tour with Rock Sports Travel get paid directly into the PTS trust account. This ensures that should anything happen to Rock Sports Travel, your money and your tour are safe. Your financial security is further enhanced by our supplier failure insurance. All bookings administered through PTS automatically include additional insurance, covering each element of your tour.

Rock Sports Travel arranged a rugby tour in Jersey for our Under 14’s team. We were really impressed with the level of service that we received and how smoothly the whole weekend went. The staff made sure that every part of the tour, from the fixtures, activities, accommodation and transport ran like clockwork and this really removed any stress for us as teachers.  

The students had a great weekend and in addition to the well matched  fixtures, they also really enjoyed playing cricket on the beach, watching the Jersey Reds play in the Championship and spotting dolphins on their RIB tour around the island. The tour was a great success and we’re already looking forward to arranging further tours with Rock Sports Travel next season.

Former English rugby player Travis Clayton taken by Buffalo Bills in NFL draft

Former rugby union player Travis Clayton has been selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2024 NFL draft.

The Englishman’s selection sees him join former Wales star Louis Rees-Zammit in American football.

Clayton, 23, was selected with the 221st overall pick in the seventh round despite having never played a game in the sport.

The six-foot seven athlete, who played rugby for hometown club Basingstoke, was selected from the NFL’s international player pathway programme as an offensive lineman.

In a social media post, Clayton thanked fans in the UK for the support he has had on his journey.

He said: “Just want to shout out all the UK fans for sticking by me and supporting me and look, I’ve made it to the NFL and now it’s time to represent and show the rest of the world exactly why UK athletes should play in the NFL.”

Clayton recorded his 40-yard dash in 4.79 seconds during the draft combine, which the Bills said was faster than all offensive lineman have recorded over the last 10 years.

It comes after Rees-Zammit signed for Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs in March.

Rees-Zammit, who announced his decision to leave rugby union in January, impressed the Chiefs during his time on the NFL’s international player pathway, with running back and wide receiver his designated positions.

The former Gloucester, Wales and British and Irish Lions wing stunned the world of rugby in January by quitting the sport in an attempt to secure a contract with an NFL team in 2024.
