Best shop in town. The owner is awesome, and very kind. Always enjoy the conversation when I go in there
It's a nice store that has a wide assortment of items, glass pieces, hookahs, they even have a section with essential oils and incense. I came in searching for a hookah with my friend. They were actually really busy for a 3:00PM on a Friday. There were only two people working (one being the owner) and there were about 6 or 7 people in the store that were all purchasing something so we had to wait for them. We waited about 10-15 minutes. When they finally got to us, they were really kind. I think the girl working was new, because she didn't know a lot of the questions we were asking. The owner ended up coming over to help us. The prices are super reasonable, especially compared to other places I've seen. A small hookah was about $25. A medium sized was $50. We were looking at the medium sized, and ended up getting a medium one. It came in its own case and all, so you could break down the hookah and carry it in like a little suitcase. we bought charcoal and the tobacco, all for about $75. Which is crazy, because a lot of other stores would be way more expensive. Overall, I'd definitely come back here to purchase products. It's fairly priced and employees were really nice. Although, you may be a bit patient at times. I also ended up picking up some incense too, and they have SO MANY OPTIONS. I ended up only picking up 10, because I wasn't sure how I'd like them when they burned, but they smell amazing. I'll definitely be back to buy some more! They also have a no return/refund policy! (But usually most smoke stores have the same policy)
Wide selection of scents and flavors for electronic hookah and cigarettes. They also have quite a few homemade hookah pipes that are unlike anything I have ever seen.
Bad return policy, bought a spare battery and it was bad tried to get a replacment and was told no send it back to the manufacturer, wow bad Karma Trip3 is lame

Trip 3 on 3336 Wrightsboro Rd #4D
Very nice store with a wide selection of products. The ladies were very helpful in suggesting a nice piece for my wife. They were friendly and professional, I would highly recommend you stop by and see them.
Such great employees and owner. The owner asked how i liked my most recent purchase(large water pipe) and i said i didn’t like the amount of force it took to pull and she loaded me with and entire new setup that was much easier to pull. Couldn’t be happier. Prices are great also. Much better than most places in town. Couldn’t be more satisfied.
Decided to check this place out but was ignored. I guess I turned invisible when I entered the door. The person working didn't even look up to see what mysterious force opened the door. What if i was an actual fhost instead of just an invisible customer. Man, it is kind of hard to find a good smoke shop in this town between the places with a poor selection, bad products, or they aren't interested in greeting customers. This might be a good place to burgle because they aren't paying attention. Oh yeah there is no parking. The small lot of full.
I am happy to say that I have known Karen and her husband, Hal for over 12 years now. The adult children are just as sweet and kind as can be! I will be dropping by today.
Wonderful customer service! They are helpful, kind and courteous. I highly recommend.

'RHUGT3' Will Feature an ER Visit, Failing Friendships, 'Brokedown Palace' Paranoia and Piping Hot Tea in Thailand
In one of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 3 's most heated exchanges, RHOP 's Candiace Dillard-Bassett grills Porsha Williams about her relationship with a former RHOA costar's ex Simon Guobadia
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 3 promises lots of drama.
A new trailer for the special series that brings together the stars from Bravo's Real Housewives franchises dropped on Friday, revealing what viewers can expect when a new constellation of Housewives jetted off to Thailand.
Peacock already debuted a very generous sneak peek at BravoCon and revealed which stars would attend the trip including Real Housewives of New York City 's Leah McSweeney , Real Housewives of Potomac 's Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard-Bassett ; Real Housewives of Salt Lake City 's Heather Gay and Whitney Rose , and Real Housewives of Miami 's Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton . Real Housewives of Atlanta 's Porsha Williams joined the trip at the last minute after RHONY 's Tinsley Mortimer chose to exit production for "personal reasons," according to insiders.
Friday's trailer starts on a fun note, with the ladies partying on yachts, shopping, feeding elephants, having "food orgasms" and getting massages. When Bryant claims her masseuse tried to give her a "happy ending," Williams quips, "I want my money back 'cause ain't nobody touched mine!"
But soon enough, the trip takes a turn for the dramatic — like all Housewives getaways inevitably do — as McSweeney says snarkily, "I mean, it's eight Housewives in a foreign country, what could go wrong?"
Just three weeks after RHOSLC concluded, viewers get more from the collapse of Gay and Rose's friendship. Gay previously said that her friendship with Rose had "disappeared overnight" and she wasn't sure "how to repair that."
In another scene that was teased earlier at BravoCon, Williams tells McSweeney: "You don't like me. I don't like you." When she says, "Leah, bye," McSweeney echoes sharply: "Porsha, bye ."
Williams is also under fire from Dillard-Bassett, who confronts her about dating (and eventually marrying) Simon Guobadia , who was fairly recently married to RHOA Friend Falynn Guobadia .
Many recent Housewives seasons have left unanswered questions — mostly notably concerning RHOSLC star Jen Shah 's surprise decision to switch her plea to guilty to fraud after proclaiming her innocence on the show for months. (Shah was arrested in April 2021 — while RHOSLC cameras were rolling — for her involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme reported to prison on Feb. 17 to serve a 6.5-year sentence .)
At one point, Bryant asks Gay whether she knew Shah was lying about her innocence, and Gay says her costar "either lied to me five minutes before she went into the courtroom, or she lied to the judge."
RELATED VIDEO: RHOSLC Star Jen Shah Pleads Guilty to Fraud in Telemarketing Scandal
And as viewers are still wait to see how the next installments of RHOP 's season 7 reunion, the friction between Dillard-Bassett and Bryant clearly still hasn't abated.
In an altercation that seems specifically to have popped up on RHUGT3 , when Dillard-Bassett accuses Bryant of "larceny," the Reasonably Shady podcast host claps back, "Hi, suspect No. 1."
During a luncheon, Dillard-Bassett also claims, "You wanted me to go to jail. You was trying to set me up!"
Meanwhile, McSweeney — an openly recovering addict — grows paranoid about how far her castmates will go to stir up drama, wondering, "What if one of the women tries to frame me and, like, gets drugs from someone and puts it in my bag?"
Referencing a harrowing 1999 film set in Thailand, she asks, "Haven't you ever seen that movie with Claire Danes ? Brokedown Palace ."
The final moments of the trail show McSweeney laid out on the floor in pain as medical professionals tend to her. The shot then cuts to her lying in a hospital bed as someone asks, "This is real and not TV?"

Busan Itinerary Essentials
Before you jet off on your Busan trip, it’s important to have a few basic things in place. Here are my top pre-travel planning tips to help you make the most of 3 days in Busan.
- Busan is HUGE! Therefore it’s important to choose the right area to stay. If you want to be right in the city’s hustle, base yourself in Seomyeon or Nampo-dong . For beach vibes, opt to stay near Gwangalli Beach or Haeundae Beach . Search the best hotels in Busan here and see my top recs below.
- If you want to avoid public transport, pre-book a private transfer from Gimhae International Airport or KTX Busan Station for a stress-free trip to your hotel.
- While there are many free things to do in Busan, most of Busan’s main attractions are paid activities. If you’re planning on visiting lots of the main sights, it’s worth grabbing a Busan Pass . The pass includes discounted or free access to 30 attractions in Busan, including Busan Tower , Blueline Park Seaside Train , Songdo Cable Car , and much more!
- Order an eSim for South Korea or prebook a 4G SIM card for pickup at the airport. That way you can easily access transport schedules, maps, etc. on the move.
- Buy a T Money card (Korea’s transport card) as soon as you arrive in Busan, so you can simply tap and go on buses and the metro. You can recharge the card at any top-up machine in metro stations or convenience stores like CU , GS25 , and 7-11 .
- Busan is a super safe city, but you never know what can happen on a trip. SafetyWing offers comprehensive travel insurance, and it’s easy to apply online in just a few clicks.
- If you’d rather skip all the hassles of exploring Busan independently, this one day Busan tour or this East & West Busan Exploration tour covers the city’s best spots.
- Google Maps does not work in South Korea . And the last thing you need is to get lost or feel frustrated during your 3 days in Busan itinerary. Download Naver Map ( iOS ) or KakaoMap ( iOS ) to plan your stops, check schedules, and get directions.
- Bring cash, but note many places only accept cards.
Busan Itinerary Quick Overview: What to do in Busan
Busan is such an amazing city, but since it’s huge, getting from one place to another can really cut into your itinerary. Feel free to switch days around or pick and choose activities on this Busan itinerary. Just remember to group activities in the same areas together to maximize your time. Here’s a quick look at what to expect in this Busan itinerary.
Day 1: Gamcheon Culture Village >> Jagalchi Market >> BIFF Square >> Gukje Market >> Bosu Book Street >> Yongdusan Park & Busan Tower
Day 2: Oryukdo Skywalk >> Seomyeon Shopping District >> Gwangalli Beach
Day 3: Haedong Yonggungsa Temple >> Haeundae Blueline Park >> Busan X the Sky >> Haeundae Beach
Busan Itinerary Day 1: Western Busan
Gamcheon culture village.
Kickstart your first day in Busan by visiting the city’s most Instagrammable spot – Gamcheon Culture Village .
Gamcheon is a colorful hillside village between Cheonmasan Mountain and Ongnyeobong Peak . Once a refugee base during the Korean War, Gamcheon Village is today better known as a thriving hub for art lovers and often dubbed Korea’s Machu Picchu . The village is filled with artsy cafes and a whole bunch of quirky art installations and colorful murals.
Plan to spend at least 3-4 hours wandering through the maze-like alleys, marveling at the views, or kicking back at the cozy cafes. There are tons of photo ops along the way, and if you’re up for it, you can hunt down all the artworks in the village. There are tons!
Visiting the village is free, but remember to grab a tourist map at the Information Center. The map costs 2,000 KRW, but it’s worth every penny because you’re almost guaranteed to get lost!
Explore Nampo-dong
After getting lost in the alleyways of Gamcheon, you’ve probably worked up quite an appetite.
Hop in a taxi (or catch the bus) back to Nampo – one of the oldest districts in Busan. Nampo is a busy hive packed with bustling markets and loads to keep you busy for a few hours.
Jagalchi Market
Your first stop should be Jagalchi Market – the biggest fish market in South Korea. The market spans several floors, but it’s the first floor that you’ll want to explore. Here you can see an array of weird and wonderful seafood on display. If you’re hungry, head up to the second floor for a fantastic seafood lunch. For a more in-depth experience and the luxury of having a local chef guide you through the market, join this Jagalchi Fish Market & Korean Food Market Tour .
Most people visiting Jagalchi Market don’t know this, but you can get an incredible view over the entire harbor from atop the market building. To get to the observation deck, take the escalator adjacent to Gate 1 up to the 7th floor. From there, you’ll need to climb a flight of stairs to the rooftop. Besides the epic views, the best part about visiting here is that it’s free.
BIFF Square
Next up on your Busan itinerary is BIFF Square . Famous for hosting the Busan International Film Festival , BIFF Square is a vibrant shopping area filled with everything from movie theaters and hip clothing stores to K-Beauty shops and food!
If you’re a foodie, come hungry because BIFF Square is famous for its tasty street food, hipster cafes, and eateries. Don’t miss the yummy ssiat hotteok (sweet pancake stuffed with seeds).
Gukje Market
For a more traditional vibe, make your way over to Gukje Market .
Gukje Market is a massive traditional market home to hundreds of stalls selling everything from electronics, clothes, K-Pop knick-knacks, household goods, and food. It makes for an interesting browse, and if you’re looking for a good bargain, this is the place to find it!
Boso Book Street
After you’ve had your fill of shopping, take a quick walk over to Boso Book Street . Boso Book Street is somewhat of a hidden gem in Busan, and if you’re a bookworm, you should definitely pop by here.
The alley was started by a refugee couple who sold used magazines here during the Korean War. And by the 1970s, Bosu Book Street was home to around 70 bookstores. Today, only a few second-hand bookstores remain.
Even though you only need a few minutes to stroll through the entire alley, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and makes for a great photo stop.
Yongdusan Park & Busan Diamond Tower
If you still have energy left after an afternoon of shopping and browsing, stroll over to Yongdusan Park – a peaceful oasis right in the heart of Nampo.
While the park is a great place to enjoy a slice of nature, the star attraction here is the Busan Diamond Tower – one of the most iconic buildings in Busan. Built in 1973, this 120m tall tower offers epic 360-degree views over the port, city, and mountains. It’s also open until 10 pm making it a great spot to end your first day in Busan as you watch the skyline light up in a kaleidoscope of neon colors. The entrance is 12,000 KRW.
Insider’s tip: If you’re traveling on a shoestring, nearby Lotte World Department Store also has an observation deck that is free to visit.
Busan Itinerary Day 2: Central & Southern Busan
Start day 3 in Busan early with a trip out to Oryukdo .
Oryukdo (which means 5 or 6 islands) is a cluster of rocky islets jutting out of the sea. Depending on the tide, 5 or 6 islets are visible. For the best views over the islands, head to the Oryukdo Skywalk. It’s a 22m-long glass bridge perched right at the edge of the cliff! Afterward, follow the wooden stairway, where several lookout points offer a closer look at the islets. Also, keep an eye out for the marker stone that marks the East Sea separating from the South Sea.
If you’re up for it, you can also tackle the first course of the Haeparang Trail . It runs along the coast from Oryukdo Sunrise Park to Haeundae . The famous sunrise trail – Igidae Coastal Trail – is also here and is a great alternative if you’re looking for a low-key hike. This trail is 4.7 km long and takes about 2 hours to complete depending on your photo stops and fitness level.
Explore Seomyeon
Seomyeon is the hippest district in Busan. It has a similar vibe to Myeong-dong in Seoul, making it a great spot to explore.
While Seomyeon usually only comes alive at night, it’s also a great place to explore during the day sans the crowds. It’s packed to the brim with fashion outlets, homegrown cosmetics shops, malls, photo prop shops, and some of the best eateries and bars in the city.
Nearby you’ll also find Jeonpo Cafe Street – a popular hangout spot among Korean couples. The area actually spans several streets with plenty of hipster cafes to take a breather while sipping your favorite drink. Another cool area to check out here (even just for the scenes) is Seomyeon Medical Street . Medical tourism is huge in Busan, and if you want to see where all the transformations happen, this is it!
Gwangalli Beach
The last stop on your Busan itinerary for today is Gwangalli Beach . Gwangalli Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Busan and the best sunset viewing spot in the city.
If there’s still some light left, opt to take a swim. Alternatively, plop yourself down on the soft sand or find a spot at one of the many cozy cafes and eateries lining the beach to watch Gwangan Bridge light up in a dazzling display of neon colors.
Busan Itinerary Day 3: Eastern Busan
Haedong yonggung temple.
On your last day in Busan, hop on the bus to Haedong Yonggung Temple – the most beautiful temple in Korea!
The Buddhist temple was built in 1376 by the great Buddhist teacher Naong during the Goryeo Dynasty. It was destroyed in a fire during the Japanese invasion. In the 1930s, the temple was rebuilt, but it was only in the 1970s that the main hall was reconstructed into what we see today.
While Haedong Yonggungsa Temple certainly has a long and interesting past, what really makes it so special is its setting. The temple is perched right on the rocks next to the ocean creating the most beautiful sight imaginable. To get to the temple, follow the 108-stone step trail lined with lanterns. The course takes you over a bridge to the main complex. En route, make sure to follow the dirt path to the left. It leads to the sunrise platform, but it’s also here where you’ll get the best photo ops.
Since visiting Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is one of the best things to do in Busan, it can get crowded. Come early if you want to skip the mobs.
Haeundae Blueline Park
After exploring Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, hop on the bus to Songjeon . Here you’ll find Haeundae Blueline Park – Busan’s newest attraction and a highlight on any Busan 3 day itinerary!
Haeundae Blueline Park is an eco-friendly railway facility redeveloped from an old railway line built during the Japanese occupation. The track is only 4.8km long but arguably offers the best views of Busan’s eastern coastline. There are two main attractions here – the Beach Train and the Sky Capsule (a super cute aerial tram).
While you could simply take the Beach Train back to Haeundae Mipo Station from Songjeon Station , I highly recommend slowing down because there are many interesting stops along the way!
Start your journey by exploring Songjeong – a laidback beach village and surfing hot spot. The beach is shallow, making it the perfect place to take a quick dip.
From Songjeong , hop on the beach train to Cheongsapo – another sleepy seaside village. You’ll find several cozy cafes near the beach where you can grab a bite and admire the views. A popular photo spot here is the Twin Lighthouses , and if you’re up to it, you can walk over to Daritdol Skywalk for more epic views.
After you’ve seen enough of Cheongsapo, head back to the station and jump in the Sky Capsule for the last leg of the journey back to Haeundae Mipo Station .
Insider’s tip: Tickets for the beach train and sky capsule sell out fast. If you want a ticket, make sure you go before noon. You can also buy tickets online (up to 2 weeks in advance) on the Blueline Park website . A one way trip on the Sky Capsule costs 35,000 KRW (2 pax), while the Beach Train costs 7,000 KRW p/p.
Busan X the Sky
For a breathtaking view over the city, ocean, and mountains, visit Busan X the Sky . It’s located in the Landmark Tower of the shimmering Haeundae LCT The Sharp Complex.
While the complex has three buildings, the Landmark Tower is the shining star. Besides housing Busan X the Sky (the largest observation deck in South Korea), the building is also the second tallest building in the country, rising 411.6m high.
The observatory spans several floors and is accessed via the entrance facing Haeundae Beach. Grab an entry ticket to skip the lines or get free entry with this Busan Pass from Klook. The entrance fee is 27,000 KRW.
Haeundae Beach
End your last day in Busan at Haeundae Beach ! Arguably the most popular beach in the city, Haeundae Beach is a beautiful 1.5km stretch of soft white sand with plenty of space to tuck your toes into. It’s also a great swimming spot with lifeguard stations all along the beach.
Besides lounging on the beach, there are loads of fun things to do in Haeundae. Some of the highlights include visiting the impressive Busan SEA Life Aquarium , gobbling up delicious food at the Haeundae Traditional Market , and hiking along the rocky coastline of Dongbaekseom Island . A stroll along the promenade is also obligatory. It’s a cool place to take it all in and catch buskers performing. Dozens of cafes also line it, making it a great spot to grab a quick bite or a boozy cocktail.
Other Things to do in Busan
If you have more time in Busan, here are a few more alternative things to do in Busan.
- Spa Land Centum City – After a whirlwind tour rushing around Busan, you might need some downtime. And what better way to relax than with a pamper session and a steamy sauna sesh at one of the most lavish bathhouses in Korea? Spa Land is also located in the world’s largest department store, Shinsegae Centum City – perfect for packing in some last-minute retail therapy.
- Huinnyeoul Culture Village – Similar to Gamcheon Cultural Village but much smaller, Huinnyeoul is a great spot for street art chasing, breezy coastal walks, and hanging out in hipster cafes.
- Busan Air Cruise (aka Songdo cable car): If you want to admire Busan from a different angle, taking the Songdo cable car is a huge must! The cable car runs from Songdo Beach to Amnan Park and offers incredible views over the city and the ocean beneath.
Where to Stay in Busan
If you’re planning your first trip to the city, deciding where to stay in Busan can be overwhelming. The good news is that South Korea’s second largest city has the most amazing accommodation options imaginable, no matter your budget or preferences. However, since Busan is quite spread out, choosing the right area to base yourself is important. The best places to stay in Busan are Seomyeon , Nampo-dong , Gwangalli Beach , and Haeundae Beach . All these districts are well connected via trains and public buses, so getting between them is easy.
Here are my top picks for each area.
Haeundae Beach is my absolute favorite place to stay in Busan. It’s super laid back, packed with fantastic restaurants, and you’ll have the luxury of lounging on one of South Korea’s best beaches whenever you please.
- Luxury: Grand Josun Busan or Signiel Busan
- Mid-range: Hound Garden & Terrace Hotel or Shilla Stay
- Budget: Ibis Budget Ambassador or Ekonomy Haeundae Hostel & Guesthouse
If you want to be right in the thick of Busan’s vibrant shopping district with access to transport, shops, hipster cafes, and eateries, then Seomyeon is where to stay in Busan. It’s a trendy and lively area with lots to keep night owls busy.
- Luxury: Lotte Hotel Busan
- Mid-range: Hotel Kyungsung
- Budget: K Guesthouse
If you want to experience a more traditional side of Busan while still based in a busy part of town, Nampo is your best bet. Nampo is home to some of the most iconic attractions in Busan – from Busan Tower and Jagalchi Market to BIFF Square and the sprawling Gukje Market . Additionally, Gamcheon Culture Village (Busan’s most famous IG spot) is just around the corner!
- Luxury: Lavalse Hotel
- Mid-range: Urbanstay Boutique Nampo or Hound Hotel Premier Nampo
- Budget: Shui Hostel Busan or K79 Guesthouse
Gwangalli Beach is a bit more central than Haeundae Beach, and dozens of awesome cafes and restaurants line its stunning shores. If you want to lounge on a dreamy beach, catch awesome sunsets, and watch Busan’s famous Gwangan Bridge light up every night, this is the spot for you.
- Luxury: Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington
- Mid-range: H Avenue Gwangalli or H Avenue Gwanganri Beach
How to Get to Busan
Gimhae International Airport (PUS) is the main gateway to Busan. The airport is much smaller than Incheon Airport in Seoul , but there are many daily direct flights from other Asian countries like Taiwan , Japan, Singapore, and more. Search flights and compare prices here on Skyscanner .
If you are arriving at Gimhae Airport, you should know the airport is not actually in the city. Therefore, traveling into town can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1h30, depending on where you are staying. Thankfully, getting to Busan from Gimhae Airport is a breeze, with taxis, buses, and an airport light rail ready to whizz you off to all corners of the city.
The easiest way to access the city is to take the Busan Airport Light Rail to Sasang Station or Daejeo Station . From there, you can connect to subway lines 2 and 3 to travel further. See the Busan metro map here.
However, if you’re not in the mood to bother with public transport, arrange a private transfer to pick you up at the airport.
Tips for Tourists Entering Korea
Even if you don’t need a visa for Korea, note that you might need to apply for K-ETA (Korean Electronic Travel Authorisation) to enter the country. Twenty-two countries are currently exempt from this, but if you are South African like me, don’t skip this step because you won’t be able to board the plane without it! The K-ETA application takes time to process, so remember to complete it at least 72hrs before your flight . You’ll also need to pay a small processing fee.
All tourists entering Korea must also complete a health declaration form for the Korean quarantine system. You can do this online in advance on the Q-Code website or upon arrival. My airline gave me the paper when I checked in, but there were forms available upon arrival too. Just make sure you complete it before going through immigration.
Getting to Busan from Seoul
While there are direct flights from Seoul, the most convenient way to get to Busan is by KTX – South Korea’s bullet train.
There are about 69 departures daily from Seoul train station to Busan train station , and the shortest journey takes 2h15. That said, if you’re traveling during weekends or in summer, book your tickets at least a few weeks in advance to guarantee you have a seat. You can book tickets directly on Rail Ninja or grab a discounted Korea Rail Pass for 2,3,4, or 5 days here.
How to Get Around During a Busan Itinerary
As mentioned, Busan is a big city, and since it’s quite spread, getting from one place to another in Busan can take quite long.
Thankfully Busan has amazing public transport connecting you to all corners of the city. The cheapest way to get around the city is by bus or metro. Make sure you grab a T Money Card (South Korea’s rechargeable transport card) to tap and go on buses and trains. You can buy the card (and top it up) at any of Busan’s subway stations and convenience stores. Artbox also sells super cute themed cards if you don’t mind paying a bit more.
Another thing to know is that Google Maps does not work in South Korea. Instead, you’ll need to download Naver Map or KakaoMap to check schedules, plan stops, and get accurate directions. I used both apps on my recent trip to Busan but found Naver Map a bit easier to navigate. Unlike KakaoMap, most of the stations’ names were in English, and the live preview map helped me make sense of where I was and in which direction I needed to go.
If the thought of trying to figure out the bus or metro system in Busan makes you cringe, consider hiring a car or a private charter for your trip. Another option is to flag down a taxi. Just know that it can get expensive quickly. Also, ensure you always have your destination’s address ready in Korean, as some taxi drivers can’t speak English.

Three friends drove from California to Mexico for a surfing trip. Then they disappeared

Last month, two brothers and one of their friends crossed from the United States into Mexico to explore Baja California’s famous surf breaks. One of the brothers, Callum Robinson, 33, posted snapshots of their journey on Instagram, showing the men gazing out at the ocean with cups of coffee, enjoying street tacos and relaxing with beers on a roof deck.
After a stretch of camping, the friends were supposed to check into an Airbnb in Rosarito Beach last weekend. But they never arrived. Their relatives say the last time they heard from the men was April 27.
Their disappearance in one of Mexico’s most violent states has triggered a massive search involving local authorities, the FBI and the Mexican marines.
“We are looking for them on land and at sea,” Baja California Atty. Gen. María Elena Andrade Ramírez said Thursday. “We are making every effort.”
Authorities said they had questioned three people in the case and had located the pickup truck the men were traveling in. At a news conference on Thursday, Andrade would not confirm whether the three people questioned were considered suspects. She said authorities had also recovered a cellphone that was relevant to the investigation.

Meth and murder: A new kind of drug war has made Tijuana one of the deadliest cities on Earth
Jan. 30, 2019
Callum, a lacrosse player, and his brother, Jake, a 30-year-old doctor, are both Australian nationals. Their friend, Carter Rhoad, 30, is from Atlanta and founded an online apparel company in San Diego, according to his Facebook profile.
The group was last seen near Santo Thomas, about 70 miles south of Rosarito, authorities said.
Peso Pluma’s Tijuana concert has been canceled after death threats
The cancellation comes about a week after four banners were discovered with alleged threats against the Mexican singer.
Sept. 21, 2023
Debra Robinson, Jake and Callum’s mother, appealed for help on social media, noting that Callum is diabetic. “This is a very dire situation,” she said.
Baja California’s rugged coastline and epic waves have long attracted surfers from north of the border. In recent years, the state has been convulsed in violence, much of it connected to the drug trade. Last year, authorities recorded 2,116 homicides in the state — giving it one of the highest homicide rates in Mexico.
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who is serving his last year in office, ran on a promise of reducing violence in Mexico. While homicides nationally have dipped slightly during his six-year-term, they continue to hover near record highs.
Cecilia Sánchez Vidal in the Times’ Mexico City bureau contributed to this report.

Improved Trip
You are trained not only in tripping opponents safely but also in following through with an attack.
Prerequisite
Combat Expertise ( PH ) , INT 13,
Required for
Curling Wave Strike ( Sto ) , High Sword Low Axe ( CW ) , Improved Overrun ( SF ) , Knock-down ( DD ) , Sand Snare ( Sa ) , Defensive Throw ( CW ) , Knock-Down ( SF ) , Pebble Underfoot ( DC ) , Vae School ( DrU ) , Defensive Throw ( OA ) , Great Throw ( OA ) , Mighty Works Mastery II ( OA ) , The Gentle Way Mastery ( OA ) ,
You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when you attempt to trip an opponent while you are unarmed. You also gain a +4 bonus on your Strength check to trip your opponent. If you trip an opponent in melee combat, you immediately get a melee attack against that opponent as if you hadn't used your attack for the trip attempt. For example, at 11th level, Tordek gets three attacks at bonuses of +11, +6, and +1. In the current round, he attempts to trip his opponent. His first attempt fails (using up his first attack). His second attempt succeeds, and he immediately makes a melee attack against his opponent with a bonus of +6. Finally, he takes his last attack at a bonus of +1.
At 6th level, a monk may select Improved Trip as a bonus feat, even if she does not have the prerequisites. A fighter may select Improved Trip as one of his fighter bonus feats (see page 38).
Without this feat, you provoke an attack of opportunity when you attempt to trip an opponent while you are unarmed. See Trip, page 158.

Pope Francis visits Venice in first trip outside of Rome in seven months
April 28, 2024 / 3:18 PM EDT / CBS/AP
Pope Francis made his first trip out of Rome in seven months on Sunday with a visit to Venice that included an art exhibition, a stop at a prison and a Mass.
Venice has always been a place of contrasts, of breathtaking beauty and devastating fragility, where history, religion, art and nature have collided over the centuries to produce an otherworldly gem of a city. But even for a place that prides itself on its culture of unusual encounters, Francis' visit on Sunday stood out.
Francis traveled to the lagoon city to visit the Holy See's pavilion at the Biennale contemporary art show and meet with the people who created it. But because the Vatican decided to mount its exhibit in Venice's women's prison, and invited inmates to collaborate with the artists, the whole project assumed a far more complex meaning, touching on Francis' belief in the power of art to uplift and unite, and of the need to give hope and solidarity to society's most marginalized.
His trip began at the courtyard of the Giudecca prison, where he met with women inmates one by one.
"Paradoxically, a stay in prison can mark the beginning of something new, through the rediscovery of the unsuspected beauty in us and in others, as symbolized by the artistic event you are hosting and the project to which you actively contribute," Francis told them.
The 87-year-old pontiff then met with Biennale artists in the prison chapel, decorated with an installation by Brazilian visual artist Sonia Gomes of objects dangling from the ceiling, meant to draw the viewer's gaze upward.
The Vatican exhibit has turned the Giudecca prison, a former convent for reformed prostitutes, into one of the must-see attractions of this year's Biennale, even though to see it visitors must reserve in advance and go through a security check. It has become an unusual art world darling that greets visitors at the entrance with Maurizio Cattelan's wall mural of two giant filthy feet , a work that recalls Caravaggio's dirty feet or the feet that Francis washes each year in a Holy Thursday ritual that he routinely performs on prisoners.
The exhibit also includes a short film starring the inmates and Zoe Saldana, and prints in the prison coffee shop by onetime Catholic nun and American social activist Corita Kent.
Francis' dizzying morning visit, which ended with Mass in St. Mark's Square, represented an increasingly rare outing for the 87-year-old pontiff, who has been hobbled by health and mobility problems that have ruled out any foreign trips so far this year.
"Venice, which has always been a place of encounter and cultural exchange, is called to be a sign of beauty available to all," Francis said. "Starting with the least, a sign of fraternity and care for our common home."
During an encounter with young people at the iconic Santa Maria della Salute basilica, Francis acknowledged the miracle that is Venice, admiring its "enchanting beauty" and tradition as a place of East-West encounter, but warning that it is increasingly vulnerable to climate change and depopulation.
"Venice is at one with the waters upon which it sits," Francis said. "Without the care and safeguarding of this natural environment, it might even cease to exist."
in the exhibit as tour guides and as protagonists in some of the artworks.
Ahead of his trip, Francis sat down with "CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell during an hourlong interview at the guest house where he lives in Rome.
During the interview, Francis pleaded for peace worldwide amid the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza .
"Please. Countries at war, all of them, stop the war. Look to negotiate. Look for peace," said the pope, speaking through a translator.
He also had a message for those who do not see a place for themselves in the Catholic Church anymore.
"I would say that there is always a place, always. If in this parish the priest doesn't seem welcoming, I understand, but go and look elsewhere, there is always a place," he said. "Do not run away from the Church. The Church is very big. It's more than a temple ... you shouldn't run away from her."
The pope's Venice trip was the first of four planned inside Italy in the next three months, Reuters reported. He is scheduled to visit Verona in May and Trieste in July, and is expected to attend the June summit of Group of Seven (G7) leaders in Bari.
In September, he is also set to embark on the longest foreign trip of his papacy, traveling to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Singapore.

As China's Xi Jinping visits Europe, Ukraine, trade and investment are likely to top the agenda
Ukraine, trade and investment are expected to dominate Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s first trip to Europe in five years, which starts in France on Monday
TAIPEI, Taiwan — Ukraine, trade and investment are expected to dominate Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s first trip to Europe in five years, as the Asian giant rebuilds its foreign relations after a prolonged absence during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Xi will start the tour in Paris on Monday, meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been stressing the idea of European strategic autonomy from the U.S. On a visit to Beijing last year, Macron courted controversy by saying France would not necessarily always align with the U.S. in foreign policy, an apparent reference to American support for the self-governing republic of Taiwan, which China claims as its own territory to be annexed by force if necessary.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — A man who kicked a bison in the leg was then hurt by one of the animals in Yellowstone National Park, according to park officials.
Park rangers arrested and jailed him after he was treated for minor injuries.
Park rangers got a call about the man allegedly harassing a bison herd and kicking one of them about seven miles (11 kilometers) inside the park’s west entrance on April 21.
Rangers stopped the man in a car driven by another person in nearby West Yellowstone, Montana, Yellowstone officials said in a release Monday.
Park officials didn’t describe the 40-year-old man’s injuries from the bison. He was charged with being under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, and approaching and disturbing wildlife.
His 37-year-old companion was charged with driving under the influence, failing to yield to a police car and disturbing wildlife.
The two men from Idaho Falls, Idaho, pleaded not guilty in a court appearance April 22.
Bison are the largest land mammal in North America, with bulls weighing up to 2,000 pounds (900 kilograms). Despite their size, bison can sprint up to 40 mph (65 kilometers per hour). They routinely injure tourists who get too close.
Yellowstone officials urge people to stay at least 25 yards (23 meters) away from all large wildlife in the park.
Some Yellowstone facilities began opening for the busy summer season last week, a process that will continue into June.
Perth brothers Jake and Callum Robinson missing during surfing trip in Baja California in Mexico
The WA premier has described as "distressing" reports two Perth brothers have disappeared while on a camping and surfing trip in northern Mexico.
Jake and Callum Robinson, both aged in their 30s, failed to arrive at holiday accommodation in the city of Rosarito.
It's understood they were surfing and camping at the popular surfing spot Punta San Jose near the city of Ensanada.
They were believed to be travelling with Jack Carter Rhoad, who is an American citizen and is also missing.
Their mother Debra Robinson has appealed for information on social media.
"They have not contacted us since April 27 ... they are travelling with another friend; an American citizen," the social media post reads.
"Callum is a Type 1 diabetic so there is also a medical concern.
"Please contact me if you have seen them or know their whereabouts."
In a statement, Ms Robinson said the family continued to hope the brothers would be located.
"We sincerely appreciate everyone's concern and thoughts at this time. We continue to have hope that our two beautiful boys are found."
"It is a deeply distressing time for us and we ask the media to respect our privacy at this time."
Reports of woman in custody
Local media reported while searching for the men around La Bocana, authorities discovered one of the trio's phones had been switched on around an hour's drive of where the men were last seen.
"A woman … about 25 years old … was detained in possession of it [in the upper part of Maneadero]," reporter Mario Muñoz told the ABC, citing local police sources.
He said she was also found carrying drugs and would be handed over to the state attorney general's office.
"The state prosecutor's office will investigate the disappearance of the three tourists," Mr Muñoz said.
Mr Munoz supplied the ABC with pictures of the area in Punta San José where police are searching.
The ABC has contacted local and state police to confirm this information.
Social media posts stop
A friend of the brothers, Dan, said social media updates from the pair stopped at the weekend.
"Callum lives over in America and Jake was visiting and [they] sort of posted fairly regularly about their trip up until the weekend," he told ABC Radio Perth.
"They haven't actually checked into where they were meant to be on Saturday, and no one's been able to get in contact with them since.
"We believe Callum was due back at work last week and hasn't shown up … so obviously friends and family are quite concerned."
"I think everyone's just sort of hoping that we can spread the word for anyone that has any contacts in America or around that area that might be able to put the word out.
"I believe that Jake and Callum's parents are trying to get a flight over there now."
'Very worrying': premier
Premier Roger Cook said he was aware of the situation and described it as "really quite distressing".
"This must be very worrying for the families involved," he said.
"When we do send our young men and women overseas to enjoy that adventure holiday, they invite an element of risk.
"I understand one of the individuals has a medical condition that would need ongoing care.
"I share [the] concerns of all Western Australians in terms of their welfare."
'High degree of caution': Travel advice
According to an online lacrosse profile, Callum Robinson attended high school at Sacred Heart College in Perth before travelling to the United States to play college lacrosse.
Lacrosse Australia has released a statement expressing concern over the disappearance.
"We urge the Australian (and global) lacrosse family to continue sharing the post from Callum's friends and family … in the hope that Callum, Jake and Jack are found safe and sound," it said.
Both brothers have regularly posted images of their travels to social media.
In 2015, Australian surfers Dean Lucas and Adam Coleman were murdered while travelling through Mexico in a camper van.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance to the family of the two Australians.
"Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment," its statement said.
The Department's latest travel advice for Mexico is for people to exercise a high degree of caution due to the threat of violent crime.
The advice said Mexican government statistics show Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo have reported significant increases in drug-related violence, particularly murder.
Baja California Sur and Baja California are among the states with the highest homicide rates.
