Urbini Omni Plus 3-in-1 Travel System Review

As I’ve mentioned before, I love travel systems. They make traveling with my child so much easier. I was able to test the Evenflo (formerly Urbini) Omni 3-in-1 Travel System and found it to be mediocre at best.

For such a high price one would think that the travel system would outperform many others. Unfortunately I didn’t find anything impressive about it. I will say that the stroller was easy to unfold and fold.

The car seat on the other hand was less than acceptable. It has a low weight limit of 32 pounds as opposed to 35 pounds like many other car seats have. In addition to that, the fabric is extremely scratchy and made my child uncomfortable.

The stroller has a five-point harness system that kept my child in place very well. It also has a two-position canopy that kept them protected from the sun and a very large storage basket.

I found that the wheels would lock during use from time to time, which was very frustrating. Additionally, the car seat adapters are difficult to slide into the stroller slot receivers.

For the price, I can’t say I recommend this travel system. There’s nothing special about it and it was more frustrating than anything.

The overall idea of the system is a winner, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark when it comes to ease of use and growth. When purchasing a travel system, we expect to be able to use it for many years.

This travel system can only accommodate a child up to 32 inches or 50 pounds and the car seat is only rear-facing. You may only get a couple of years out of it before you have to purchase something else, which is honestly pretty disappointing for the price.

Yes, the car seat does have the safety features we are looking for, but it’s nothing spectacular. Now, this brings me to the stroller. It does have some nice features to it such as the reclining seat that allows you to change your child right there instead of in a dirty restroom, but that’s about it.

You can’t remove the fabric for cleaning and the wheels tend to lock up while in use, which not only creates a safety issue for your child, but for you and everyone else around you.

Below we will talk in detail about Urbini Omni unique features, its dimensions, what we love and don’t like, and what other parents say about this travel system. We also compare this system to Evenflo Sibby.

What’s Included In The Travel System

The Omni Travel System bundles three necessities into one awesome package, a stroller, a car seat, and a base. The stroller found in the Omni is unique to the travel system. Though the Urbini Reversi and Swiftli strollers do accept the Urbini Sonti car seat, they are not identical to the Omni stroller.

The car seat, an Urbini Sonti, has many nice features including multi-position harness straps (shoulder and waist) and a crotch strap. It also has a four-position recline and a colorized level indicator. This car seat is crash tested and has an impact-absorbing foam to provide your little one with a safe ride.

Key Features

Simple and easy installation.

The base for the Sonti provides clearly labeled belt paths for simple installation. One notable feature is the extra-grip lock off to ensure a secure connection to your vehicle. The base offers LATCH connectors or can be installed with a seat belt.

The car seat easily clicks onto the Sonti base and can be removed with the compression of a button. Then, the car seat can be easily attached to your Omni stroller thanks to car seats included adapters.  Your little one can easily be transferred from your vehicle to your stroller all without having to remove them from the car seat.

The Omni Plus stroller is very versatile and functional. It does accept the Sonti car seat, but it can be used without a car seat as well. The stroller seat offers a variety of positions. For instance, it can be rear-facing, forward-facing, or converted to a carriage/bassinet.

As a rear-facing or forward-facing seat , it can be tilted to a variety of different reclines to keep your little one comfortable. As a bassinet, it provides a sheltered and cozy place for your child to sleep or relax. Additionally, parents love that it provides a clean and flat space to tend to their little one, including performing diaper changes.

Grows With Your Child

The stroller can accommodate children up to fifty pounds so you can continue using it long after your baby’s outgrown the bassinet. Once your child is beyond the infant stage, the forward-facing/rear-facing stroller seat keeps them secure due to its five-point adjustable harness and padded inserts. The foam-padded handlebar provides extra security and a place for children to hold on should they desire.

It can be easily unhinged with a button when you want to remove your child from the seat.  Additional stroller features that cater to parents are the adjustable three-position handle, a parent cup holder, and a storage basket.

Retractable Canopy

A large retractable canopy protects your child from the sun as well as any inclement weather. The canopy also has a small peek-a-boo opening so parents can look in and check on their child.  All of these wonderful characteristics may lead you to believe that this stroller is bulky, but it is surprisingly lightweight.

The stroller folds down and becomes compact for car transport or storage. The stroller easily folds and unfolds with the use of release buttons and levers located on the handlebar. The Omni Plus stroller’s four wheels allow for smooth handling and turning. The swivel wheels can be locked when you are walking over rough terrain.

The addition of two-foot brakes, one for the front wheels and one for the back wheels, allow parents to safely park the stroller without fear of it rolling away.  Whether your child is a few months old or a few years, the Urbini Omni Plus Travel System will give you the versatility and functionality you require for your on-the-go lifestyle.

Urbini Omni Plus Travel System Vs Evenflo Sibby Travel System

The Urbini product line and the Evenflo product line are both produced by parent company Goodbaby International. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Urbini Omni Plus Travel System 3 in 1 and the Evenflo Sibby Travel System are comparable.

Like the Omni Plus , the Sibby includes a stroller, a car seat (the Lite Max 35), and a car seat base. The car seat accommodates children ranging from 4 pounds to 35 pounds. The stroller can be used by children weighing up to fifty pounds. These weight and height ranges are similar, however, the Urbini Sonti car seat has an upper weight limit of 32 pounds instead of 35.

The car seats share many characteristics such as an adjustable base, a multi-position harness and recline, a removable infant insert and a belt lock-off in the base.

Both strollers have locking wheels, a parent cup-holder, a two-position canopy, and a five-point harness. Furthermore, each stroller folds down with the push of a button and/or the release of a lever. Finally, both the Omni stroller and Sibby stroller are rather lightweight.

Evenflo Sibby includes sport handles (two unconnected grips instead of one adjustable handlebar), a larger storage compartment, a removable ride-along board for siblings, and a three-position footrest.

The Urbini Omni Plus is a cheaper option than the Evenflo Sibby, and this was the goal of the Urbini line. Goodbaby International desired to offer parents a great stroller with many features at a lower price point.

Similarities

  • Similar weight and height restrictions on the stroller
  • Both car seats have an adjustable base, harness, and recline
  • Each car seat base has an extra-grip lock-off
  • Both seats have a removable infant insert
  • The strollers each have locking wheels, a cup holder, a canopy, and a five-point harness
  • Both strollers can be collapsed with the use of a button or lever and are lightweight

Differences

  • The Sibby car seat upper weight limit is 35 pounds while the Omni Plus is 32 pounds
  • Sibby stroller has dual sport handles
  • The Omni Plus stroller has a smaller storage basket
  • Sibby stroller has a removable ride-along board for siblings and an adjustable footrest
  • The Omni Plus travel system is available in more color choices
  • Evenflo Sibby travel system is slightly more expensive

Compatibility

Unfortunately, the Omni Plus Travel System’s compatibility is limited. There are no known adapters produced that allow the stroller to accept a car seat produced by another manufacturer.

Who Is Urbini?

The brand Urbini is a tier of the large corporation entitled Goodbaby International. Goodbaby is an international company located in Shanghai. Goodbaby owns and produces a variety of other infant and child-centered companies. One of the most recognizable companies under their umbrella is Evenflo.

Urbini products are manufactured for and sold at Walmart exclusively. The goal of the Urbini line was to offer parents great products at low prices.

Honest Customer Reviews

Many parents love the versatility and ease of the Omni Plus 3 in 1 travel system. You rarely see a stroller that converts to a bassinet at such a low price point. The addition of features that are typically accessories purchased at an extra cost, such as a parent cup holder, is pleasantly surprising.

A few of the concerns parents have with the Omni Plus system have to do with the wheels and the simplicity of attaching the car seat. Occasionally, the wheels have been known to randomly lock up. While these locking wheels will likely not pose any danger to your child they can be a nuisance.

Finally, some parents had difficulty attaching the car seat to the stroller without the help of another adult. As the car seat connectors have to be slid into the two stroller receiver slots, it can be difficult to line them up properly if your child is moving inside of the car seat.

Overall, parents find the Omni Plus 3 in 1 travel system a great deal for a car seat, base, and stroller. The compatibility of the three products together and their versatility is highly praised.

Parent Likes

  • The conversion options of the stroller
  • Easy transition from car to stroller with the use of the car seat adapters
  • The wide range of features

Parent Dislikes

  • The wheels occasionally will lock-up
  • The car seat adapters may be difficult to slide into place if your child is moving in the seat

Expiration Information

The Urbini Sonti car seat was first manufactured in 2015. Its expiration date is six years after the manufacture date. This date can be found on the car seat label and the owner’s manual.

Matching Accessories

There are a few accessories that can be found online that fit the Urbini Omni Plus Travel System components. The Urbini company itself does not produce any accessories.

1. Rain Cover .

This rain shield will keep your little one dry in inclement weather. It securely attaches to the sides of your stroller with velcro and drapes over the canopy and down to the lower wheels.

The rain shield has two ventilation windows composed of mesh. It is listed as being compatible with all Urbini strollers but may not accommodate the stroller when in the bassinet position.

2. Baby Stroller Organizer Bag

As the Urbini has a single unit handlebar, it is compatible with this stroller organizer bag . Parents who find the stroller storage basket a little too small can now have extra room to keep their items.

This bag has a large pocket with magnetic closure, a front zip pocket, two cup holders, a large rear mesh pocket, and finally a small removable pouch. Never misplace your phone, wallet, or little ones precious pacifiers again!

Weight: 22 lbs

urbini omni plus travel system

The Urbini Omni Plus is a super affordable travel system that combines the Urbini Omni Plus stroller and the Urbini Sonti infant car seat. It is super affordable at just under $200 compared to most travel systems on the market.

It is a newborn/toddler stroller that can be used from the birth of your child till they are much older – up to 6 years old. It is an everyday stroller that has all the features you’d hope to have in your stroller – large basket, parent cup holder, multi-position recline, and reversible seat.

The stroller is quite nice because it provides you with up to three options to ride it. First – you can carry your newborn/infant using the Sonti car seat. Second – you can transform the stroller seat into a bassinet to also carry your newborn (an alternative to the car seat). And lastly, you can use the stroller seat once your baby is older.

In terms of features, the stroller is quite great. The only issue is in its quality. The stroller is quite flimsy and the infant car seat is quite small with not enough padding around which can be uncomfortable for your baby. The stroller is also quite heavy at more than 30 lbs. Which along with its plastic wheels makes it quite hard to maneuver. A lot of parents also had a similar feedback which contributes to the lower rating for the Urbini Omni Plus.

As an alternative, I’d recommend the Graco NimbleLite Travel System instead. It is also super affordable, and includes all the features you’d get with the Urbini Omni Plus, but with better quality.

It has better fabric quality, a tray with cup holder and also includes an infant car seat for your newborn:

Omni Plus Travel System Features

Bassinet Stroller: As a travel system, the Omni Plus already includes a car seat. But in addition to this, it also includes a bassinet. This gives you even more options/ways of riding the stroller.

Newborn Stroller: By replacing the stroller seat with either the car seat or a bassinet, you can convert the Omni plus into a newborn stroller. This gives you two nice options for carrying your newborn aboard the stroller.

Reversible Seat : The Omni plus stroller seat can be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing. You can have your kid facing you or facing outwards during the ride.

Multi-Position Recline: In addition, the stroller seat is able to recline into multiple positions. With this feature, your kid can either sit up straight, lay back for a nap.

5-Point Harness: Lastly, in terms of safety, the stroller seat also has a 5-point harness system that helps to keep your baby safely strapped to the stroller seat.

Adjustable Handlebar: Another cool feature of the Omni Plus stroller is it’s adjustable handlebar. This allows you to adjust the handlebar to a more convenient height for you. A too high or too low handlebar can be quite uncomfortable and take a toll on your shoulders and back. So it is always great to have an adjustable handlebar. And this is also great for tall and short couples, as either parent can handle the stroller at comfortable heights.

Storage Basket: This stroller also includes a decent-sized storage basket to carry your on-the-go items. You can carry items like diapers, toys, or snacks for your trips!

Extendable Stroller Canopy: the stroller includes a large extendable canopy that helps provide enough shade for your baby. Great for really sunny days as it provides a lot of cover.

Child’s Weight: Weighing up to 22 lbs, the stroller is able to carry up to 50 lbs of child’s weight. And with the car seat, you can carry a max. of 35 lbs.

Urbini Omni Plus Travel System reviews

While the Omni Plus includes a lot of great features, we still need to look at the Pros and Cons. During my review, there were a few Cons which you don’t notice till you actually have to use the stroller, so here is a quick overview of the Pros and Cons for the Omni Plus Travel System.

  • Newborn stroller : you can carry your newborn aboard the stroller using the car seat or bassinet option
  • Adjustable handlebar : the handlebar can be adjusted to fit the height of a tall or short parent.
  • Reversible seat : the stroller seat can be adjusted to be either forward or backwards facing.
  • Not so easy to maneuver
  • Car seat is hard and does not have enough padding
  • Can be quite heavy for smaller parents

In terms of feedback and reviews from parents who purchased and used the stroller, there were quite a number of negative feedback which unfortunately makes the Omni Plus not the beat travel system recommendation. Here is a quick overview of the Likes and Dislikes parents had about the Omni Plus

  • Very affordable
  • Can be used for newborns
  • Includes cup holder
  • Wheels are faulty and keep getting stuck
  • hard to maneuver and steer

A lot of parents had issues with the steering. With the weight of your baby on the stroller, it becomes quite difficult to steer and make turns. Which is quite horrible to have with a stroller. In addition, parents complained about the wheels getting stuck and hard to adjust. These faults are quite hard to overlook with a stroller, making the Omni Plus not a great stroller option despite all the great features.

Therefore, based on the stroller features and parent reviews, the Omni Plus stroller gets:

3.9 out of 5 stars

You can check out the Omni Plus stroller at Amazon ! It has been out of stock at Amazon for a while now, so you can also get it at Walmart .

Conclusion –  Urbini Omni Plus Travel System Review

The Urbini Omni Plus is an affordable full-featured travel system for your newborn. However it has a few issues with quality which needs to be considered. If you want something just as affordable but with better quality, then you should check out the Graco NimbleLite Travel System ! Just as affordable but with better quality.

And that’s it for the full Urbini Omni Plus Travel System review! I hope it has provided you with enough information to help you make your purchase decision.

Baby's Journey

Urbini Omni Plus Travel System Review

Last Updated on December 22, 2020

Baby’s Journey independently conducts research to find products that help families navigate life’s journey. We may earn a commission from purchases through links on this page.

As the parents of two boys, we always try to find solutions to make traveling with our children as easy (and enjoyable!) as possible. Trying to remember all of our equipment is no easy feat, and we needed to figure out an all-in-one travel solution to get us out the door quicker and accommodate our baby and toddler.

The Urbini Omni Plus 3-in-1 Travel System stroller and car seat combo would have met all our needs — except for the fact that you get what you pay for when it comes to this stroller.

When you just compare the features, it may seem similar to our pick for the best travel system stroller, the Graco Modes Travel System , the Graco FastAction Fold which is in a similar price range, or even the higher end Baby Jogger City Select . However, this Urbini stroller is not even in the same ballpark when it comes to quality. We’ll get into why these other strollers are a better pick and why we do not recommend the Urbini Omni Plus for most families . The main exception is if you’re just looking for the cheapest travel system stroller out there or just want a back-up stroller you can toss in the car.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Travel System

Having a car seat and stroller combo is essential to ensuring compatibility and not having to worry about the gear not connecting correctly as if purchased separately. Babies and children can be moved smoothly from car seats to the stroller without taking them out, which is especially useful to transport sleeping babies without waking them.

The Urbini Omni Plus Travel System is ideal for cost-conscious parents who are continually moving children from house to stroller to car on a daily basis. It’s a childcare accessory that benefits those from all walks of life, whether they use public transportation or have personal vehicles.

Before purchasing this product, you should decide whether or not an all-in-one solution is best for them. While it’s nice to move the baby around without the worry of adapters, make sure the stroller has all the features that you want. You may also lose some personalization and preference options when you purchase an all-in-one set.

Urbini Stroller Review: Omni Plus Travel System

The Urbini Omni Plus offers six modes of transportation in one product. It’s an all-in-one modular stroller that seeks to streamline the process of toting babies along by creating an integrated product.

Evenflo Urbini Omni Plus Travel System with LiteMax Infant Car Seat

It includes the lightweight Infant Car Seat, designed to easily-install into cars and seamlessly connect to the lightweight stroller frame.

For its part, the stroller offers a multi-position reclining seat, forward and back facing options, a 5-point harness with comfort pads, in addition to a storage basket, canopy, adjustable handle, and cup holder. Additionally, it can convert from a stroller to carriage to bassinet, and then back again.

This stroller is ideal for those who prioritize ease and convenience with a system that features everything they need. It offers an all-in-one solution that provides moms, dads, and babies with a seamless transition from car to stroller and back. This is especially helpful when you have to carry a baby who’s been fighting sleep in the car for a quick drive around the block back into the house.

WHAT WE LOVE

  • Converts to a bassinet if you have an infant
  • Large canopy with a peek-a-boo window
  • Reversible stroller seat
  • Car seat holds babies up to 50 lbs.
  • Energy-absorbing foam surrounds your baby
  • Removable preemie insert in the car seat

WHAT COULD BE BETTER

  • Cheap and wobbly tires
  • Difficult to steer due to the plastic wheels
  • Challenging to clip the car seat in
  • Doesn’t always fold up fully or correctly
  • Insufficient storage space with no parent console

Urbini Stroller Features & Benefits

Folding, weight, and portability.

With assembled dimensions coming in at 34.84 in. long by 26.38 in. wide by 44.09 inches tall and a total weight of 36.6 lbs., the Urbini Omni comes with about average measurements compared against other strollers.

The Urbini car seats, when rear-facing, can hold babies from 4 to 35 lbs. and up to 32 in. tall. The stroller, on the other hand, can hold a child’s weight up to 50 lbs. Finally, it features 6 3/8 in. rear and 5 5/8 in. front EVA wheels.

The only storage space on the Urbini stroller is the basket that sits under the carriage. Likely to save on cost, it doesn’t come with a parent console many parents need to hold a phone, pacifiers, or other essentials. However, it does feature a single cup holder on the handle for parents who want to stay hydrated on-the-go, but don’t want to purchase any extra accessories.

Sun Shade & Protection

The Urbini Omni 3-in-1 features a UV 50+, two-position sun canopy in terms of sunshade and protection, including a plastic peek-a-boo window.

Additionally, it has a weather shield that helps protect against strong winds, which is incredibly convenient if you happen to find yourself caught in a sudden onslaught of bad weather or if your fussy baby needs some outdoor time in less-than-ideal conditions.

Wheels & Maneuverability

It features two rear wheels and two front wheels, although I’d stay away from rocky or uneven terrain with the cheaper wheels. The steering can also be tighter than other models, which makes it difficult to change directions.

Car Seat Compatibility

The beauty of this stroller, car seat, and base combo is you don’t have to worry about purchasing additional pieces or stress about compatibility issues — it provides everything you’ll need. No extra adapters or other accessories to make the car seat attach, it’s all included with one purchase.

However, the car seat is only made for infants, so it’ll likely only get you to the child’s first birthday.

Seat Function

The Urbini Omni includes various seat positioning options, which is ideal for helping you find the position that works best for them and their baby. It includes a multi-position, tilt-reclining seat, 5-point harness with comfort pads, reversible stroller seat, and contoured body support with a removable preemie insert.

Additionally, it is convertible from a stroller into a carriage and even a bassinet, perfect for those who seek a multifunctional product.

Setup & Ease of Use

The setup is relatively straightforward — all the pieces lock together and come apart just as quickly. In terms of use, it’s tailored to make the experience as comfortable as possible for you, with an adjustable handle and convenient cup holder. When fully assembled, it comes in on the heavier side at 36.6 lbs.

Why We Would Not Recommend the Urbini Omni Plus Stroller

Let’s start with the manufactured plastic or EVA wheels – they just don’t work well on a full-size stroller. They’re fine on an umbrella stroller, but it makes turning and generally using the stroller an incredibly challenging task.

The ride can also be rather rough and bumpy due to the lack of a robust suspension system. We would like to have seen more focus on comfort for the baby, but this stroller will not feel like you’re pushing the stroller on a cloud – for either your baby or you.

Not as big of a deal-breaker for a stroller in this price range, but the storage on the stroller is extremely limited. The lack of an included parent console means you’ll need to spend more to purchase a separate universal parent console.

Alternative Travel System Strollers for Your Baby

While the Urbini Omni is a good budget-conscious travel system, we understand that it may not appeal to everybody for the reasons mentioned above. So, we’ve created brief reviews and listed some other options that we love which might better suit your family’s needs.

Graco Modes Travel System

This is our recommended best travel system stroller for most families. The Grace Modes is a 3-in-1 stroller that can be used as an infant stroller, toddler stroller, or as a separate infant car seat.

Graco Modes 3-in-1 Stroller

It comes with the Graco Snug Ride Snug Lock 35 which is one of the top rated infant car seats out there. The car seat can be used with infants that are between 4-35 pounds or up to 32 inches tall.

  • Price is about average for most travel strollers
  • Car seat holds up to 35 pounds and stroller is perfect for toddlers up to 50 pounds
  • One of the most popular and highly rated car seats
  • Easy to use one hand folding for parents on the go
  • Includes parent tray along with removable child’s tray and armrests

The Graco Modes is a fantastic 3-in-1 stroller that is designed to grow with your child from newborn to toddler.

Baby Jogger City Select

This is the best convertible stroller designed for families with more than one baby, as it transforms into a double stroller, a triple stroller with a glider, and a travel system. If you’re considering another child in the future, this is a great investment.

Baby Jogger City Select Stroller

It starts as a double and features over 16 riding combinations, which provides a personalization level no other strollers on this list can. It also features quality all-terrain wheels and a telescoping handlebar with a hand-operated parking brake.

  • One of the more expensive strollers
  • Holds up to 45 lbs
  • Requires an adapter to turn into a travel system for car seats
  • 8 in. lightweight front tires and 12 in. forever-air rear tires
  • Great for families with more than one child

The Baby Jogger City Select is designed for parents who aren’t afraid to invest a little more money into a product that can grow with their family, in addition to providing some extra comfortable perks.

Graco FastAction Fold Travel System

Famous for its fast-fold feature, Graco’s travel system can support your child up to 50 lbs. All systems come with a base and feature seats with multiple incline levels to provide maximum comfort for babies and toddlers.

Graco FastAction Stroller

It includes swiveling front wheels and an extra-large basket, typical features of all the strollers included on this list.

  • Lightweight and portable
  • Easily maneuvered
  • Easy in, easy out of cars
  • Convertible 3- and 5-point harness

As a more budget-friendly stroller, the Graco FastAction Fold Travel System is for families seeking the convenience of a high-quality travel system without spending too much of their money to do so.

Britax B-Agile B-Safe 35 Travel System

Perhaps the coolest feature of Britax’s system is that it features an integrated parking brake, one of those convenient little pieces to have that you wouldn’t usually think of.

Britax B-Agile B-Safe 35 Stroller

It features all-wheel suspension and a “click and go” system that allows for easy transfer from car seat to stroller to house, in addition to multiple recline positions. It also features an extra-large storage compartment, which slightly edges out that of the Urbini.

  • Much more expensive than Urbini Omni Plus
  • One hand quick fold feature
  • Auto level indicators
  • Spring-inclined assist

Those interested in a more refined, sleeker-looking stroller should check out Britax’s travel system .

The Urbini Omni Plus 3-in-1 Travel System is low cost and designed for parents with more than one child who are seeking more convenience and ease throughout their day. The system provides smooth transitions from car to stroller to the house.

It includes storage for the bare necessities a child will need (and extra perks that parents like, such as easy-access cupholders and an adjustable handlebar). If you’re looking for a cheap stroller that provides plenty of convenience, the Urbini Omni Plus is the solution for you and your family.

However, there are better quality strollers out there in a similar price range like the Graco FastAction Fold Travel System . If you’re willing to spend a little more, we highly recommend the Graco Modes Travel System or the Baby Jogger City Select if it fits your budget.
