Char Dham Yatra: Online registration begins on Uttarakhand Tourism portal
The pilgrimage starts from Yamunotri, proceeds towards Gangotri, onto Kedarnath, and finally ends at Badrinath. Read further on Dynamite News:
Dehradun: The online registration for the 'Char Dham Yatra' started on Monday on the tourism department's portal, according to the Uttarakhand tourism department.
The pilgrims can register themselves on the official website from April 15 to visit the revered shrines.
The Char-Dham yatra in Uttarakhand consists of visiting four temples, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
This year, Char Dham Yatra will begin on May 10, with the opening of three of the four shrines, including Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath. The doors of Badrinath shrine will open on May 12.
The Char Dham Yatra holds profound spiritual significance in Hinduism. This journey typically occurs from April/May to October/November.
The high-altitude shrines remain shut for around six months every year, opening in the summer (April or May) and closing with the onset of winter (October or November).
It is believed that one should complete the Char Dham Yatra in a clockwise direction. Hence, the pilgrimage starts from Yamunotri, proceeds towards Gangotri, onto Kedarnath, and finally ends at Badrinath. (with Agency inputs)

Once a year, on the day of Vaman Dwadashi, the Narayan pays a visit to Mata Murti. The Rawal (the head priest) of Badarinathji performs puja here and the residents of Mana village organize a festival of prayers, havan and bhog. The temple of Bhavishya Badari is at an altitude of 2744 m. and is surrounded by dense forests. Located at Subhain near Tapovan about 17 km east of Joshimath on Joshimath - Lata Malari route, pilgrims have to trek beyond Tapovan. Tapovan has sulphurous hot springs. ANI Photo | Uttarakhand: Online registrations for ‘Char Dham Yatra’ begin on tourism portal
The online registration for the ‘Char Dham Yatra’ started on Monday on the tourism department’s portal, according to the Uttarakhand tourism department. Last week, Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana visited the Badrinath Dham and inspected the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. The District Magistrate instructed the officials that before the start of the Yatra, works related to sewer line repair, improvement of internal routes, water, electricity, street lights and vehicle parking should be completed and signage should be installed for passenger convenience. The journey can be completed by road or by air (helicopter services are available). Some devotees even do a ‘Do Dham Yatra’ or a pilgrimage to two shrines, Kedarnath and Badrinath

U ttarakhand, famously known as Devbhoomi or the Land of the Gods, attracts devotees year-round with its numerous temples and religious sites. Among the most prominent pilgrimages is the Char Dham Yatra, which encompasses visits to four sacred destinations: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Notably, bookings for Heli Sewa to Kedarnath are already full for both May and June. Additionally, a significant percentage of ticket bookings for September and October have been finalised, highlighting the enthusiasm among devotees.
Amidst the rush for registrations, the Uttarakhand Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat has called for a relaxation in registration procedures for local residents. They have also urged authorities to initiate offline registration centres in Rishikesh and Haridwar to accommodate those without access to online facilities.
As preparations continue for the Char Dham Yatra, authorities are working diligently to ensure a safe, memorable, and spiritually fulfilling experience for all pilgrims. With the sacred journey set to begin soon, devotees eagerly await the opportunity to embark on this revered pilgrimage in the picturesque landscapes of Uttarakhand.
