Travel Countries VISA-FREE with US visa

Yes, you read it correctly. Travel 53 countries and territories VISA-FREE with US visa.

I always encourage travelers from developing countries to get a US visa at some point. It opens up doors to many other countries. More and more countries are offering visa exemption with a valid US visa. This list is growing fast.

If you are worried that the VISA-FREE list for your passport is just too small, then get a US visa. It will add about 53 countries to your VISA-FREE list. This is how you give more “power” to your “powerless” passport.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER Visa requirements change constantly but we make every effort to keep the information accurate and up to date. We provide links to official sources wherever necessary, so you can conduct your own due diligence to verify the visa requirements before planning your trip. Why do countries offer visa exemption to US visa holders?

Reason 1: strict screening.

US visa application has a very strict screening process. A US visa is also one of the most difficult visas to get. If you have a US visa, then you were screened pretty well already. Meaning, you do not have a criminal history or any illegal immigration intentions.

Reason 2: Strong ties to your home country

US visa application also makes sure you have strong ties to your home country. This is to avoid illegal immigration. If you were to stay illegally anywhere, you could have stayed illegally in the US itself. So, having a US visa reassures them that you have no intention of remaining in their country illegally.

Reason 3: Financial reasons

Developing countries do not have the infrastructure or the money to screen applicants. If you were already screened by a country like the USA, there is no need to screen you again. In order to have a screening process that is as foolproof as the US, costs a good chunk of money.

Countries Nigerian Passport Holders Can Visit with a US Visa

' src=

In my previous post, I talked about the visa free countries for Nigerian citizens and others we can visit either with an eVisa or a Visa upon Arrival. In this post, I’ll be highlighting 25+ other countries you can visit with a valid US visa .

I have previously written about getting a US visa. You can read that here if you are trying to obtain one. However, if you already have a valid US visa on your Nigerian Passport, then you should know that that visa takes you to countries other than the United States of America.

Hearst Castle USA

This should come as good news to anyone familiar with the ‘struggles’ of travelling with our green passport. I mean, getting the US visa itself is not a walk in the visa application park, especially with Dropbox applications cancelled at the moment and more stringent application processes in place. But it is good to know that the visa takes you to several other countries, just in case you are interested in visiting them.

What's Covered in this Post

The Summary: Countries You Can Visit with a Valid US Visa

* Edit October 22, 2020 : Thanks to the comment from Adejoké Babington-Ashaye , this post has been edited to exclude Cuba and Turks & Caicos. Nigerians require a visa to visit Cuba. If you have a valid US visa and have travelled to the US, you can apply from there. Also, you would need to apply for a visa to visit Turks & Caicos from your nearest embassy.

* Edit July 2022 : Turkish eVisa is no longer available to Nigerian citizens

* Edit July 2022 : Moroccan evisa is now available for Nigerians with a valid US visa.

I would like to hear about your experience of travelling with a  Nigerian Passport , particularly to any of these countries. Please share them in the comment section below.

Find visa data here for 192 passports . For travelers, it's fairly normal to have a visa ready for most exotic trips 😉🌴☀️.

When flying to visa-free countries, you'll still have to show your passport as part of the identity check 👮‍🎫.

If you are within the Schengen zone, you don't have to worry about a visa due to the freedom of movement rule 🇪🇺.

You will definitely have to show your visa when entering the first country after being outside the Schengen zone ✅.

Visa Free Countries

Select your passport from the drop-down list to see all the countries you can travel to without a visa ✈️. The list of nationalities is sorted alphabetically .

What is a visa?

A visa is a permit issued by a country that allows a person to enter the country, stating clearly the purpose of the visit and the duration of the stay.

Visas are closely associated with the request for permission to enter or exit a country, and the conditions pertaining to this vary depending on the country one chooses to visit.

  • Singaporean Passport 🇸🇬
  • Croatian Passport 🇭🇷
  • German Passport 🇩🇪
  • Hungarian Passport 🇭🇺
  • Norwegian Passport 🇳🇴
  • Polish Passport 🇵🇱
  • Spanish Passport 🇪🇸

How does it work?

Visas generally work through the simple rule of seeking permission from the country one wishes to visit.

For example, a non-EU tourist who wishes to visit Spain generally must first obtain a Spanish Tourist Schengen Visa .

Nationalities within the Schengen Area can freely travel between all member countries without a visa.

There are different types of visas, but the most common include the transit visa , which lasts for less than three days and is issued to people passing through a country to another destination.

The tourist visa is for people who wish to travel for leisure. There are also business visas issued to those who wish to engage in commerce in another country.

Visa Free Countries

Fingerprinting

Several countries across the globe, including the United States of America, Singapore, and Japan, require adult passport holders to be fingerprinted on arrival.

Most countries take photos when visitors arrive, but it is becoming more common to also take fingerprints for all non-residents.

In Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, they have added iris scans as well.

Criminal history

Many nations in the world require visitors to be checked for any record of criminal history in their native country or any other country.

If the person is found to have any criminal history, they may be barred from entering the particular country of interest.

Most data can be found via your passport ID.

In other countries, visitors are required to be vaccinated if they are coming from an infected area or nation.

Sufficient funds

Many nations, even if the passport holder has free access to that country, have to make sure that the visitor has enough funds to spend while in the country.

In addition to this, they may also require the visitor to show evidence of a ticket for exit.

Visa restrictions

Although holders of passports with visa-free access to certain countries can freely travel there, each country places certain restrictions to allow visitors into their country.

Make sure to check the entry requirements or call the country's embassy before buying flight tickets.

Schengen Visa Holder

If you hold a Schengen visa, it allows you to travel to certain countries without needing a separate visa.

Schengen Visa Holder

This type of visa is a great option for those who frequently travel between different countries in Europe.

Some of the visa-free countries for Schengen visa holders include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

Keep in mind that the length of your stay may be limited in some of these countries, and you may need to provide additional documentation upon arrival.

It's important to check the entry requirements for each country you plan to visit, as they may change frequently.

Make sure you have a valid Schengen visa and any other necessary documentation before embarking on your trip.

US Passport Visa-Free Countries 2024

A United States passport is a powerful document to have, ranking 7th in terms of travel freedom according to the 2021 Henley Passport Index . The Henley Passport Index is a global ranking of countries' passports according to the travel freedom they afford their holders. The U.S. passport is tied for 7th place with passports from several other countries: Czech Republic , Greece , Malta , Norway , and the United Kingdom .

Where can U.S. passport holders travel visa-free?

As of October 1, 2021, US citizens can travel visa-free to 185 countries and territories (though a few require a visa on arrival). Note, however, that some of these countries do implement stiffer requirements after one has stayed a certain length of time—typically 30, 60, 90, or 180 days.

Perhaps most importantly considering Europe 's popularity as a vacation destination, US citizens do not need a tourist visa to enter any of the 27 countries of the European Union —or the United Kingdom, which recently left the EU.

Countries that still require a visa ... and possibly something more

In countries where visas are required, travelers must typically pay registration fees, departure taxes, and travel fees. For example, if a U.S. citizen wants to travel to Russia , a visa is required, can take up to three weeks to process, and costs $139.

Many countries require potential visitors to be fingerprinted and photographed. Additionally, countries including Chad , the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Niger , require an International Certificate of Vaccination. This practice has become particularly prevalent since the global COVID-19 pandemic that began in early 2020.

Finally, some countries screen potential visitors based upon their previous destinations. In Libya , Sudan , and Syria , anyone with Israeli entry or exit stamps on their passport may be denied entry into the country.

China also requires a travel visa for US citizens. The application must include travel dates, itinerary, and proof of onward travel out of China. The application must also be typed and have no handwritten corrections. Additionally, every visitor to China between the ages of 14 and 70 is fingerprinted upon arrival and departure.

Which country is off-limits to U.S. citizens?

US citizens are not permitted to travel to North Korea , with or without a visa. The travel ban took effect in 2017 after a United States student died after being released from a North Korean prison. Failure to adhere to the rules can result in criminal penalties and having one's passport revoked. To travel to North Korea, US passport holders need to obtain a special passport validation from the United States government.

Always double-check before departure

Before traveling, it is necessary to check the visa requirements of one's destination. It's also important to check any travel advisories a country might have, which are issued by the U.S. Department of State for unsafe countries .

  • ETA and VOA indicate countries where an Electronic Travel Authority document or a Visa On Arrival may be obtained upon arrival in the country.
  • E-VISA indicates a country that requires a government-issued electronic visa for entry.
  • Visa requirements and travel advisories may change at any time. Prospective travelers are advised to always confirm requirements with official sources at their intended destinations.

U.S. citizens are in luck! The U.S. passport is ranked the 11th most powerful in the world , giving visa-free access to 186 countries as of 2018.

Sure, it’s slipped a bit in the last couple of years — but it’s still one of the best passports you can have.

Regardless of whether a country has visa-free access, requirements still need to be met if you travel abroad. We recommend confirming with the relevant embassy before making any travel plans.

Although each country has different requirements, here are some general rules:

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your intended departure date from the country you’re traveling to. Don’t leave it too late to renew your passport .
  • Consider a new passport when you have accumulated a lot of stamps. Although most countries only require 1 blank page , many require 2 blank pages  (and some even need 3).
  • You may be asked for proof of onward travel , which is not a problem if you have a return ticket. If you plan on country-hopping, you must have proof of your travel plans. You may be refused boarding to your planned destination if you cannot adequately demonstrate to immigration officers that you plan on leaving their country. If you’re unsure when you plan on going, you can buy a refundable onward flight and re-book later.
  • Some countries require that you have adequate medical insurance to cover your stay. Regardless of whether it is mandatory, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Check out our guide to travel insurance to find the best one for you.
  • It is rare, but you may be asked for proof of funds and will need to satisfy immigration so that you can support your travels. This can catch you off guard, and trying to log in to your bank account on airport Wi-Fi can be a bit frantic. To be prepared, ensure you have a copy of a bank statement or a screenshot on your phone.

Below, we have listed the specific visa requirements for over 100 of the most popular countries. Note that these details relate to tourist travel only .

In addition to these requirements, you must possess a fully valid passport (rather than an emergency or U.S. passport card). Unless otherwise stated, tourist visa prices and departure taxes are in USD.

Before we begin, remember to also check for vaccinations you may need before setting off, as many countries require one.

Below is information on whether you need a visa when traveling to these popular African countries as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

So, you already have a USA visa and can easily travel to America anytime you want! But do you know that there are other countries you can visit with multiple-entry USA visa? Read my article below!

As a Philippines passport holder , I’m sure you understand that while it is fun to circle around the globe, it can be a pain to get visas – or is it? I remember back in the days, I would hear people saying, ‘Na-deny US visa ko e’ . And yes, that can be heartbreaking. To tell you frankly, it’s not that hard to obtain tourist visas nowadays as long as you can prove that you will return to your home country (and no, the bank balance is not the major requirement, the information about your consistent source of income is!!).  I’ve listed a few tips on how you can get your USA visa application and hopefully you can get a thing or two.

which countries you can visit with us visa

Speaking of US visa applications, did you know that you can do so much with just 1 tourist visa? As Filipinos going to the US, we are used to hearing people going to Los Angeles or New York. However, you can visit more countries with your USA tourist visa.

Just remember, the old Philippines passport was valid for 5 years (it’s finally 10 years!) and the US visa can be valid for 10 years multiple entries (maximum stay of 6 months per visit). If such happens, all you have to do is bring your old passport with your visa, together with the new one and you are good to go.

Requirements: A. Your Valid US Visa which is to be used to apply for a Tourist Card; B. A Tourist Card which can be obtained from airlines flying to Cuba and Embassies of Cuba; and C. You must not stay for more than 30 days.

A Tourist Visa is usually required for Filipinos but if you have a USA visa, you can easily fly to Cancun, Mexico, or Washington DC and head on to the Cuban Consulate where you can get your Tourist Card within the same day or perhaps around 2 days time and it’s sure to get approved. Once you get this card, you can now fly to Cuba without a need of a visa. But if your main trip is to go straight to Cuba then I highly suggest you get the Cuban visa in the Consulate in Singapore, Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ahead of time.

Once you’re there, you can enjoy long walks on the beach, listen and dance to live music in probably every corner of the street, learn how to salsa, and live up to the Havana vibes!

Curacao is actually a sovereign state but remains to be a part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They are autonomous in a certain degree but is also dependent to the Netherlands in matters of foreign policy and affairs.

which countries you can visit with us visa

Requirements: A. You are a passenger of a Cruise Ship with a valid US Visa;  and B. You must not stay in the country for more than 48 hours.

Sint Maarten is another Constituent Country of The Netherlands and just like Curacao, it is autonomous in a certain degree. Join a sailing activity as they seem to be a sailing haven. 21. Puerto Rico (USA territory)

30 Countries You can Visit if you have a Valid USA Tourist Visa on your Philippines Passport

Requirements: A. Your Valid US Visa; and B. You must not stay longer than the allowed period as stated in your visa.

Since Puerto Rico is a US Territory, your US Visa is sufficient to let you travel around Puerto Rico. Guanica is a lovely town where you can just spend your day at the beach, kayak through the mangroves, stroll through a huge sunflower farm, and be amazed at the beauty of the Bioluminescent Bay. Ponce is a historical town which will tell you so much about Puerto Rico’s history–the El Parque de Bombas, Castillo Serralles, and the Museum of History made it on our Geek List.

which countries you can visit with us visa

Requirement: None. Haiti is actually visa-free for Filipinos for up to 90 days but the easiest way to go there is from the US where you’ll need a US Visa nonetheless.

When we were based in Luperon in the Dominican Republic, I actually had the chance to cross the border to Cap Haitien in Haiti. Truth be told, it was so different than what I expected it to be. It was beautiful and safe (if you get a proper tour agency like Destination Creole). The Citadelle Henry Christophe and the Sans Souci Palace is must visit! See full Travel Guide for Haiti here!

23. Cayman Islands (For passengers of cruise ship from the USA)

Requirements: A. You are a passenger of a Cruise Ship with a valid US Visa;  and B. You must leave on the same day as that of arrival.

The Cayman Island is a haven for nature lovers. They have a Stingray City where you can swim and even interact with a lot of them! The Cayman Crystal Cave is breathtaking and I suggest you see it for yourself.

24. US Virgin Islands (USA Territory)

US Virgin Islands - Carnival Splendor Cruise -Caribbean Trip Kach and Jonathan

Again, since this is a territory of the US, your US Visa is enough to let you see the beauty of the Virgin Islands. US Virgin Island is known to be an amazing spot if you are a fan of white beaches and picturesque reefs. Visit Buck Island, the only marine national park in the US. Perhaps, see the amazing Jack Bay and Isaac Bay. I bet you’d get a great tan while in here.

25. Antigua and Barbuda

Countries Where You Can Get Citizenship By Investment 02

28. Northern Mariana Islands (USA Territory)

30 Countries You can Visit if you have a Valid USA Tourist Visa on your Philippines

The Grotto is something you can’t miss. There might be a number of steps going down, but the beautiful cave with amazing blue waters will compensate for it.

29. Guam (USA Territory)

30 Countries You can Visit if you have a Valid USA Tourist Visa on your Philippines

For more details, visit: Visa Requirement for Philippine Citizens

If you have a US visa, there is no need to get a different one from the embassy as this is a US Territory. It should have you covered but if you are holding a visa valid for Guam, this does not mean you can enter the mainland using that. With a number of tropical beaches, it would be hard not to dip in the clear waters and enjoy the sands of Guam.

30. American Samoa (USA territory)

30 Countries You can Visit if you have a Valid USA Tourist Visa on your Philippines Passport

With the name of the country, it is pretty evident that this is a US territory and hence, your US visa can be used. This is different from the Independent State of Samoa where Filipinos can enter visa – free for 60 days or less.

A group of islands between Hawaii and New Zealand , expect to see a number of great landscapes and waters perfect for hiking and swimming.

Note that having a US visa alone does not guarantee entry in any of these countries. Immigration Officials could ask you for certain documents such as Onward/Return Flight Booking , Travel Insurance , Hotel Booking, Proof of Funds, etc. and it is possible that if they are not convinced that you’re there for a legitimate purpose, then you can be denied entry to their borders.

The list above may change and that we recommend that you coordinate with the embassies to further clarify your eligibility to travel to their country with your Valid US Tourist  Visa. If you have additional countries to suggest, feel free to comment so we can update this post.

Hi, do you have updates if Kosovo allows entry with US visa?

Hello👋 do you have updated list for 2023?

I have a valid US Visa I last used in 2018 in my old passport. How does the Visa Free entry to Albania works? Can I just book a ticket then travel? or I still have to prepare/submit some documents? Thanks

Deretsyo nlng po

Hi, your website is awesome! It is one of my first stops when I am planning my travels. I am a Philippine national with a 10 year multiple entry US Visa. I have an upcoming trip that has a short transit/layover in Dominican Republic. Is the info on Dominican Republic in this post still up to date? (requires only tourist card, fee and valid US Visa) Appreciate it!

Still okay.

Hello good morning, quick question po, i want to travel on my Philippine passport with USA visa. is this country list still updated? thank you po

Currently, okay pa naman sya.

My sister’s family planning a 5 day Mexican Reviera cruise from San Diego roundtrip. They have Philippine passport U.S multiple visa. Do they need to obtain a Mexican visa? Coming back to San Diego, California from their Mexican trip will they encounter any problem? We experienced a problem twice when we drove to Mexico. Coming back to the U.S they gave us a hard time about their Philippine passport.

I noticed that Guatemala isn’t in the list anymore. Does it not allow anymore Philippine passport holders with multiple-entry US visa? The Wikipedia page says it does. I tried contacting the Guatemalan consulate but couldn’t get a response.

Hi. Your blog is pretty helpful. I was just wondering if the entry to Serbia on a Philippine passport with USA B-/B2 visa still valid to-date? I am having a hard time looking for it online and I come across couple of stories that they were denied (balkan) entry without shengen. Can you confirm? Thanks

Serbia is okay, we have clients who entered this year with a US Visa. Kosovo is the country not allowing US Visas, only Schengen.

Since Kosovo is established( i think), your valid US visa is useless and does not grant you access to this country though Schengen can. I learn this the hard way when traveling there last 20qo and was denied entry.

I’m sorry for your experience. Will be updating this.

Hi.. I am a Philippine passport holder. I will be travelling to North Macedonia. I have read that Philippine citizens can enter North Macedonia with a valid US visa for 15 days.. My question is for example after I spend days in North Macedonia, I go to Kosovo by bus then turn around go back to Macedonia is that possible to enter back in North Macedonia?

No you will be denied entry to Kosovo. As your valid US visa is useless to them.

Whereas, “Requirements: A. Your Valid US Visa which is to be used to apply for a Tourist Card; B. A Tourist Card which can be obtained from airlines flying to Cuba…”

Hello! I’m a PH passport-holder with a valid US visa planning to fly from Florida to Cuba. Thus, I have to get a TOURIST CARD first. Which airlines do you recommend me obtain it from? Thanks for the reply!

Hello I am Filipino ,Philippines passport holder with valid b1-b2 US tourist visa, my question is , I can use this visa to travel in Canada?

No, you can’t. You’ll need to have a Canadian Visa to enter Canada, however, it will be easier to get it with CAN Plus. CAN+ Visa Program – Expedited Canadian Visa Guide for Filipinos

Hello I’m a Philippine passport holder. I just want to make sure if I can enter Kosovo with omy US Valid Visa only.. Some website say Schengen Residence or Schengen Multiple Entry Visa. Thank you.

On the bahamas site it says that countries that require a visa to travel there will still need a visa even it travelling on a cruise ship. On here it says as long as they have US visa they will be allowed is this still correct?

This is for Phillippines citizen with US travel visa from cruise in US to bahamas. it is not closed loop cruise (leaves from NY and arrives back at Miami if that makes a difference)

Do you still need to apply for evisa travelling to Bosnia or its upon arrival for having us visa . ?

visa free if you have USA visa.

hi Kach what was your itinerary to Bahamas? we are going on a 7-day royal carribean cruise to bahamas/mexico in 2 days. 2nd day is coco cay, 3rd days is nassau. i have a philippine passport and im in the US on a b1/b2 visa. do i still need a bahamas visa?

Yes, you’ll need a visa since you’ll be staying more than 24 hours in the Bahamas. I suggest you arrived early in Miami and you can get it there in 24 to 48 hours time.

Hi, thanks for your informative blog, very helpful. I got my US multiple entry visa in my passport and I have a plan to enter El Salvador this January 2020 because I need to go to Honduras by land to attend a conference. You mentioned here the requirements are Valid US Visa; Purchase a Tourist Card upon arrival for $10; and must not stay for not more than 90 days. My question is do I still need to get an authentication of my visa exemption from El Salvador Embassy in Japan through El Salvador Consulate in Manila because according to them they need to send my passport & US visa to Japan to get the visa exemption but the problem is I’m leaving Mla on Jan 5 going to US. So if i will not send my US visa to them to get the authentication, will I not encounter any problem once I arrive in El Salvador? Thanks for your advise.

How about South Korea?

How about Peru & Brazil?

No Visa for PH passport to Peru and Brazil.

Can you please find information for Sri Lankan passport holders?

Us visa need to be tourist or can be any US visa, like student, crew or any but multiple for this countries? Thank you in advance…

Do Filipino aloud to travel to Japan with US visa?

You still need to get Japan visa If you are Philippine passport holder even with US visa.

U need to get a Japan visa to get to Japan even if u have a US visa. But there’s a big chance that you will be approved.

Hi there.. Thanks for the very in normative blog.. But Just to be sure.. Indians with Valid US visa can directly land in Montenegro? No prior documentation required? Is it visa on arrival sort of thing?

How to get a Guam tourist visa??

You go to USA Embassy.

Hello I got my US multiple entry visa in my passport. I have a plan to enter Canada but my CN visa was already expired last March this year. Does my US visa allows me to enter Canada?

Thank you for this – I love it, very informative!!! Hope to meet you soon & exchange stories…

I just found out na mas maraming nag nag “open doors” for Indians with a valid US visa. 🙁

Theyre very productive and competitive maybe 😉

This is a very helpful blog! Thanks for the loads of info!

Hi! Very helpful article indeed. I did not know about the several countries that the US visa can be used for!

Question, please! I cannot find any information about arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a US visa, is it on arrival or is it pre-arranged (online) just like in Turkey? I managed to use my Schengen visa before for Turkey and it was very convenient!

Many thanks!

I was quite curious if by any chance that a multiple US and Canada visa holder of Philippine passport still need to apply for a transit visa in UK? Because we are planning to book a flight that has a 12-hour layover and transfer of airline in Heathrow Airport before going to Germany. We would like to use the spare time to roam outside the airport and visit nearby sites in London even for just 8 hours. Thanks in advance for the reply. 🙂

I have 1 year US visa Approved unfortunately its a single entry only… If i will apply for another visa like canadian visa or Australian visa woud the process be easier or if i will apply again for US visa is it a renewal visa or i will start from scratch again? Thank you

i have a us tourist visa. i like go to canada.. i asking if i go to canada i have a us visa

it’s 2 different countries so you need to get your Canada visa before you travel to USA.

hi.I have a multiple entry US visa..when you visited Balkan countries..did you apply for travel insurance ?Did they ask you this in airport?salamat po

They didn’t ask for it but as an avid traveler I suggest you need to always have your travel insurance!

Do I need to go by plane to enter the Central American countries near each other (El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama)? Or can I travel by land and cross the borders with a US visa? Pinoy passport holder here thanks in advance 😀

I crossed the border by land but make sure to have any proof of your onward travel when you’re at the immigration.

I am planning to go to Turks & Caicos. I have Philippines passport with valid US tourist and working visa (B1/B2 and H1). I have read conflicting answers in other sites. Help please!

I have a multiple Canada visa, can I use it in Mexico?

Hi! I just wanted to ask, i have a valid working permit in qatar with valid us and uk visa,I would like to visit the bahamas for 1 week after few days in london, do i still need to secure a visa going to bahamas? It will not be a part of a cruise, just staying in a hotel for 1 week.

Yep, I have USA and UK visa but I was required to get a Bahamas visa unless going on a cruise.

Hi, with regard to American Samoa, they do not consider those that carry US Visa to enter the territory unless you have an immigration approval for entry permit -which is really a long process. It was easy before, but now it’s so hard to get that permit due to a lot of TnT’s (overstaying Filipinos).

I have a question though, do I need to have a Japan visa if I will choose to have a transfer/ flight from Honolulu, Hawaii to Japan to Manila? Thanks

Hello Nestor, great to know! Will try to update this article.. didn’t know there’s a lot of Filipinos there!

Hey there I have 6 month multiple Schengen visa with Bangladeshi passport . can i enter Mexico without visa .thanks in advance

Hi, Can I go to Ecuadur or Peru or Colombia Or Cuba with F1 USA visa?? Thanks

can i travel to direct to mexico with single entry of schengen visa with indian passport ?

Hi, Kach. I have a question about traveling to Mexico. It says if you have US visa no need to apply for a Mexican visa. Can you go directly to Mexico (without passing by the US) and show the US visa then no visa required anymore ? Thank you.

Yes, of course.

hi kach, i was approve a single entry US visa going to guam, can i enter other countries too?

AND ALSO, IS IT EASY TO APPLY FOR A EUROPEAN COUNTRY VISA, IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SINGLE US ENTRY VISA?

Hi Katch, Im planning to visit Turkey next month. i have valid US Visa and and The E-visa (turkey) . Do I need to a bank details? Or bank statement? If I already have confirmed returned ticket and hotel reservation? And is insurance also required? By the way i am a filipina. Thanks

Hi – Is El Salvador included? Some sites say that US visa is only valid for India and Jamaica passport holders only. Thanks!

Yes, I entered El Salvador in 2016 with PHL Passport with USA Visa.

Hi , Kash i am planning to travel to us on b1/b2 visa , and my stay will be just two weeks because of my businesses and i do like to visit Canada also .So pls did i still need visa to Canada upon my us arrival ?

yes you need a visa because Canada has their own rules and USA visa wont let you just travel there.

Hello! Thank you po for the relevant info. I was wondering po if you can tell me how to get travel authentication certificate for Taiwan? I currently have a US visa po. Thank you!

Hi Kach.. thank you for your web infos here. I feel lucky that i came to your site. Hope you can help me with my simple inquiry. Does a Philippine passport holder need to apply for visa going to Hawaii?

Yes po, it’s a USA Territory so you need a USA visa.

Himiss kach do i need visa going to costa rica..thank u

No need, visa free for 90 days po.

how long po ang stay outside the USA bago maka balik ulit? thank you po.

HI! I was wondering if you’ve been to Serbia, Albania or Montenegro? I wanted to know how they see Filipinas (solo traveler), like, is there any discrimination/ racism still? Hope you could reply since I couldn’t find any info on this. Most blogs I’ve read who have gone there are from Caucasians. Thanks in advance.

Hello Jen, I was just there in Montenegro and currently traveling for 2 months in the Balkans! No racism that I felt so far… I’m going to Serbia and Albania at the end of this 2 month trip. Check my daily blog at mrandmrshowe.com

Does the article above also apply to Philippine passport holders with a US green card? Just confirming as I am planning to cruise Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize and Mexico.

Thank you; Gina

Hi Ms. Kach. My husband and I are planning to travel to Mexico. I currently have spouse visa in the UK. Do I still need to apply visa for Mexico and how many months my UK visa should be valid? Appreciate your reply as I could find it online in other sites. Thanks….

Do you have USA or Schengen visa? If yes then you dont need a Mexican visa.

Hi Ms. Kach! I know this is an old post. But I just really need to ask if Macedonia (FYR) is already included to this list? Im planning to visit belgrade next month, and take a bus to skopje. But ive only read it from one website (blog post). Will be so glad to hear your idea. Thanks!

Katch. I have a valid tourist US visa and am planning to visit New Zealand. Do I still need to apply for a visit visa in New Zealand or a US visa is enough and how to I acquire if it is needed? Please advise. Thank you in advance and have a great day ahead!

You still need to apply for NZ Visa po.. go to NZ Immigration Website and the step-by-step process is there po! =)

Hi Kach, your site is really helpful. Just wanted to ask if 1) I have a UK Visa and a Schengen Visa, am I still required to apply for a Mexican visa to visit Mexico? 2) If I will apply for a US Tourist Visa, will that be sufficient to visit Mexico?

Thank you so much Kach. 🙂

Hello Cholo, if you have Schengen visa then you can get the visa free access to Mexico!

Can I go to Canada from Detroit (by car) holding a Filipino passport and a valid US Tourist visa? Or do I need to apply a Canadian visa? I’d like to have a sightseeing in Toronto 🙂

You need a visa to Canada as well!

Hello Kach. I’m planning to do the same. May I ask if we can enter Toronto via land travel from Detroit if you have B1 B2. Can we just apply visa to Canada upon arriving there?

We have to buy tickets today. Visiting for work.

Not allowed, you need to apply for Canadian visa at the Embassy/ online prior to arrival.

Update: I was in Cuba and Mexico last August and September 2017. Cuba does accept Philippine passport holders with a valid US visa anymore unless you get a Cuban Visa at their embassy which looks like the tourist card only it has a stamp on the middle. This is after Trump’s declaration and harsh stance towards Cuba. In my situation, I was asked to go to the Cuban embassy in Cancun, Mexico. You have to submit a couple of requirements to make sure your travel to Cuba is legit. The whole ordeal was dreadful because what is written online is all conflicting and yes, you need to edit your blog about Cuba as not to confuse your readers. We have to re-book tickets, miss flights, waiting, etc. Nonetheless, Cuba was amazing and we had an amazing time there. We will be going back again next year(2019) to visit friends in Mexico, Cuba and the other parts of South America and more scuba diving.

correction: Does not accept

THANKS FOR THIS!! I was about to book my flight to Cuba!

Just to add to the list: Bosnia and Herzegovina 🙂

Also Macedonia 🙂

Sorry, but they do. Source is straight from their Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

http://www.bhembassy.no/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17&Itemid=28&lang=en

So almost all Balkan countries in Europe: Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo; we can enter as long as as there’s a valid US/Schengen visa.

Hope all is well!

I am planning to visit Serbia, but before anything else i would like to know how many days are we allowed to stay there as a tourist?

Helpful article. Just a correction. Puerto Rico is a US territory just like Guam not a separate country so a US visa also covers it.

If you still remember, where did you purchase your Tourist Card for Dominican Republic? because I’ve been going through most of the websites, there is no option for Philippine passport holders with green card or valid US visa traveling to DR. There was also something about if traveling after April 1,2018, it will be included in the airline fees already. Any tips on this one?

if you have a green card u do not need a visa..

Does it also apply traveling to Spain with US tourist visa holding Philippine passport? Or shall i require a Spanish tourist visa?

Best regards.

No, you need a SHENGEN visa for Spain. However, having a US tourist visa already may help getting the Shengen visa so make sure you mention it and attach a copy to your application.

Hi. We are joining a cruise ship to Bahamas from Miami. We have valid USA tourist visas. Do we need to apply for a separate visas to Bahamas? Confusing infos.. please advise if you know the facts on this. Thanks

Hello Lucy, if you will travel on a cruise then you don’t need it. I’ve done 2 Bahamas cruise with Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruises and I’ve never been asked. But if you will enter Bahamas on a Ferry or airplane then you need to get a visa in Miami, it’s very easy to get and it will cost you $100 only.

Hi! do you know how long it would take if ever to process the visa in Miami? Thanks!

Hi Kach, I am also going on a 4-day bahamas cruise w Carnival from Port Canaveral (Florida) next month. Base on the sites that i read it says that Filipinos using philippine passport w multiple entry visa still needs a Bahamas visa. I am very confused if i need a Bahamas visa or not.

Oh 4 days in Bahamas, I think you’d need a visa! I did a cruise twice with a Day stop in the Bahamas and didnt have a problem.

Can I go to South Korea with my Valid US tourist visa? I’m a Philippine passport holder.

Nope, you need to apply for South Korean visa.

Yes. I just did. But you have to have a nonstop flight to US from South Korea and not go back right away to Philippines. Visa exemption is good if leaving from Philippines, stopping in South Korea up to 30 days, then you have to fly to the US which issued you the visa. Or the other way around USA-KOREA-PHILIPPINES. Same goes for visa holders of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Rep., Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or United Kingdom.

Hello, my friend is trying to obtain a u s tourist visa from the philippines. We have a cruise booked from Los Angeles roundtrip to mexico. Does she need another visa to go to mexico? It’s a mexican reviera cruise..I would really appreciate a reply..thank you in advance.

Hi Kach, if i have USVisa b1b2. What else do i need if im planning to go to Serbia? Only plain ticket?

Hi. I have a US C1D visa but i this is for transit only as I am a seafarer. It has a 5yr validity tho. I really want to go to Honduras. Is my visa acceptable? Please help me ??

Nope, you need to have a valid USA tourist or residency visa. But if you’ll travel by land, they might not ask.

If am traveling to Peru and my connecting flight is in LAX I’m assuming that I still need to apply for US visa. Can someone confirm this please. Thanks in advance.

Hi could you please advice me what to do to get a tourist visa bound for South Korea I’m currently now in Kuwait working coz my fiance is been working in Pyoengtaek South korea at camp Humphrey until now I came on applying some jobs as well going there. Thank you

Kach, no other requirement to go to Cuba? It can be purely for tourism purposes? I can go as a tourist with no religious or educational purpose? Thank you!

hi kach! just wondering how will i secure a travel auth cert going to taiwan i do have a valid us visa..i tot effctve n ung visa free ng filipinos to taiwan by june hnd pa pla,my air ticket nko?..im working overseas so a bit hassle pmnta ng mga embassy to secure a visa..thanks!

However, the cost to travel internationally can sometimes be prohibitive. Because of this, GOBankingRates contacted several travel experts to recommend the most affordable countries for Americans to visit right now -- like these seven.

Charles Neville, with JayWay Travel , a specialist European custom tour provider, recommends Albania for food lovers.

He says, "Expect exceptional local produce and abundant fresh fish and seafood from the Adriatic and Ionian seas, combined with hearty traditional meat dishes, and more-than-decent local wine. Hotels work out to less than half what you'd pay for an equivalent property in western Europe."

Alex Gillard, the founder of Nomad Nature Travel , also raves about Albania, calling it "a great, relatively undiscovered country to visit as an American tourist."

He adds, "Depending on the season, you can get a 500 to 600 dollar round-trip flight. I've spent months in Albania and it is very safe, the food is an affordable and incredible mix of Greek, Italian and local fare, and you can rent a car and get around their beautiful country for very cheap."

Andy Turlington, owner and travel advisor at Wildest Dreams Bookings in North Carolina, recommends Cuba, which is a short flight from Florida -- only about 100 miles from Key West.

"Cuba [has] interesting architecture, and the cars are a step back in time. Hotels in Havana start at about 50 U.S. dollars per night, but they have an Airbnb equivalent called 'Casa Particulars,' and many of them can be had for roughly 30 U.S. dollars per night."

<p>"Cuenca, Ecuador is a great, affordable, and interesting place to live, especially if you want to practice Spanish," said <a href="http://intentionaltravelers.com" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michelle Chang</a>, an entrepreneur and travel blogger. "It's also not so exciting as to be distracting from getting work done."</p> <p>Living on a shoestring budget is easy in Cuenca. </p> <p>"Ecuador uses the US dollar, but the cost of living is less than half and so far, their inflation rate has remained below ours," Chang said.</p>

This South American country is also extremely affordable. Turlington says, "You can easily get by in this country on about 30 to 50 U.S. dollars a day."

He especially recommends the capital city of Quito, where meals can usually be had for less than five U.S. dollars. Additionally, a taxi will cost about two dollars "to pretty much anywhere," and the bus costs about 35 cents. "Hotels can easily be had for less than 35 U.S. dollars a night, and for the ultra-cheap, they have plenty of hostels as well for about 10 U.S. dollars."

<p>A country that's super affordable for an American tourist is Panama, according to Becca Siegel and Dan Gold, owners of the travel blog <a href="https://www.halfhalftravel.com/" rel="noreferrer noopener">HalfHalfTravel.com</a>. "The reason is that flights are often cheap from major hubs, especially if you can fly to Miami first, or through Miami with a short layover."</p> <p>Once you land in Panama, they say that food, tours and accommodation are extremely affordable. "In Panama City alone, you can go walking in Casco Viejo, see the Panama Canal, excellent museums and experience great nightlife and culture."</p> <p>An extra bonus is that Panama uses the U.S. Dollar, so you won't have to do any currency exchanges, which they say is "super convenient for lots of American visitors."</p>

<p>South Africa isn’t often mentioned as one of the most tax-unfriendly nations in the world, but perhaps it’s being overlooked. Located at the very bottom of Africa’s continent, this country known for its safaris, minerals and beautiful landscapes taxes its citizens 45% on the high end, with corporations paying a flat 28% tax, regardless of industry. Overall, taxes contribute 27% to South Africa’s GDP. </p>

South Africa

Todd Sarouhan, owner of Go Visit San Diego and Go Visit Costa Rica, recommends Cape Town, South Africa for an affordable travel experience.

He says, "The most affordable countries are the ones where the exchange rate is in favor of the US Dollar. Cape Town is no stranger to being voted the best city in the world, the last time and for the seventh time running in 2019. Cape Town is a coastal gem, lying in the shadow of a cloud-hugged mountain where wine flows, penguins waddle and there's always something to do."

<p>While everyone has fantasies about retiring at age 40 or 50, the reality is that few people can afford this luxury, thanks in part to longer life expectancies. No matter how large your nest egg might be — or how frugal your lifestyle — retiring too early can ruin your well-laid financial plans and affect your quality of life down the line.</p>

Turkey is a great option for tourists wanting to go to Europe, Turlington says. "The lira has been greatly depreciated over the last 2 years or so, making Turkey a bargain hunter's paradise."

Istanbul offers some incredible cuisine, and plenty of historical locations and different architecture and religious sites. Istanbul has copious amounts of good hotels in the 50 US Dollar range as well. Armenia and Georgia are also lower cost options in this area of Europe.

Once you have finished the application process and interview, processing of the Schengen visa might take around 15 to 30 days and can extend up to 60 days during peak seasons.

But you could keep in touch with the embassy or consulate where you applied to track your application
