Join us on this very scenic tour that takes us over several mountain ranges and into the deep jungle providing us with amazing ocean & valley views, stream crossings, coffee & banana plantations. We will continue on through a small village and pass through several farms on our way to the San Luis waterfall. This waterfall is one of the tallest in Costa Rica and often the top cannot be seen as it is in the clouds. As we continue on our loop through the rainforest, we will stop for some fresh local fruit and a refreshing swim at another waterfall before we head back to base.

Terms and conditions.

We assemble at 8:45 am at our location in Uvita for some quick ATV training, then at 9:00 am. we are riding through the jungle and into the mountains. Pressing that 4×4 button on our auto trans ATV or paddle shift Side by Side will make the climb that much easier as we cross streams, ruts, rocks and mud on our way to visit small villages, coffee farms, and a huge 300′ waterfall. Your bi-lingual guide is sure to spot the local wildlife including monkeys, sloths, toucans, parrots, and yes, sometimes snakes! We’ll stop for a swim at one of the waterfalls on our way back, and should be returning to the shop at around 1:30 pm, just in time for lunch.

To make your trip more enjoyable and safe, we’d like to inform you about some of our policies.

Adventure Motorsports has the right to cancel any trip for the climatic conditions if those put at risk the health and safety of the customers.

We may also cancel any client with conditions of possible physical or health alterations.

The customer takes all responsibility for personal injury and the ATV.

That means that you are responsible for any damage or alteration of the vehicle.

When you finish the practice and you do not feel comfortable to continue driving please tell the guide because the company does not make refunds after having left the practice area.

The guide may at any time during the tour stop you from continuing to drive the ATV if he feels you are not able to do so safely or are not following the instructions given.

To drive an ATV involves physical exertion, so you should be in good physical condition without any recent surgery, heart condition, pregnancy or injury.

Welcome to this exciting ATV tour in Costa Rica! Join us on an unforgettable adventure as we explore lush jungles and rugged mountain terrains, offering breathtaking ocean and valley views. Whether you’re an adventure seeker or just want a leisurely ride through some of the most beautiful trails in the country, this tour is perfect for families and groups alike.  

 The tour will start at 8:45 am with a brief ATV training session at the shop in Uvita. Then, at 9:00 am, we’ll begin the journey through the jungle and into the mountains. We’ll pass through small villages, farms, and finally reach the stunning San Luis waterfall. Along the way, we’ll stop for some fresh local fruit and take a refreshing dip in another waterfall before heading back.  

The bilingual guide will be with you throughout the tour, pointing out local wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, parrots, and sometimes snakes! We should be back at the shop by 1:30 pm.  

Please note that the minimum age to drive an ATV is 16 AND with previous driving experience, and drivers must bring their physical documents (passport and driver’s license) with them to the reservation center.

Explore The Real Costa Rica On This Jungle ATV Tour

There are a lot of fantastic outdoor activities to do around the Dominical area, and the Jungle ATV Tour is easily one of the best.

This ATV tour, based 15 minutes south of our Dominical luxury villas in the town of Uvita, features an eclectic mix of high-speed quad riding, rugged rainforest terrain, a breathtaking waterfall, and a whole lot of dirt and mud. If you want to truly explore the real Costa Rica, visiting lush mountainous areas and small towns that few tourists venture to, then the Jungle ATV Tour is right up your alley.

The tour company owner, Will, is an ATV enthusiast with a top-quality selection of Yamaha 350s, 400s, and 450s in his shop. These powerful, user-friendly quads feature automatic and push-button transmissions, so even if you’ve never driven a quad before, learning to operate one in short time is quite simple. He has a fantastic collection of Side-By-Side vehicles for those looking to ride as doubles.

When your group arrives at the tour office in Uvita, Will and his excellent, bilingual crew will get everyone fitted with the proper safety equipment and review all of the basics for operating each quad. Then, all the drivers take a slow, dirt-road cruise around town just to make sure everyone feels comfortable operating their vehicle.

Once all of the introductory stuff is settled, it’s off you go into the hills of Uvita and the Agua Buenas Mountains. With your thumb on the throttle, the tour guides will lead your crew up incredible terrain that plateaus at nearly 4,000 feet which, for Costa Rican coastal standards, is pretty high in the sky. There are lookout points atop the mountain range that feature stunning jungle-to-sea views, so be sure to pack a camera for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

As you venture deeper and deeper into the jungle, the guides will stop and point out some of the native animals, including sloths and monkeys that live in the trees . There’s also a rest break in the small town of San Luis where the group can load up on beers, waters, and snacks.

The best part, of course, is saved for last.

As you begin to ascend the mountain range along the jungle trail, you’ll spot the San Luis Waterfall from a distance. The guides will lead you to the base of the waterfall, and the adventurous people in the group can climb up the rocks and actually swim in a small pool at the bottom of the waterfall. While this is going on, one of the guides will prepare fresh fruit for everyone to enjoy. They’ll also have snacks and drinks on hand. The only time of year that the San Luis Waterfall isn’t running at full strength is near the back half of the dry season, typically around March and April.

Following the waterfall visit, you’ll continue to descend the mountain. You can really cut the quad loose at this point as the roads begin to flatten out and get less bumpy.

All told, the Jungle ATV Tour takes about five hours to complete and covers nearly 30 miles of jungle terrain. The cost can be found here in our Tour Guide and is based on per person for a single rider or there’s an option for a two-passenger Side-By-Side. They can accommodate groups of any size, but the tour must be paid in advance. We can guide you through the entire reservation process free of charge. Here’s a bit of local advice: Take a change of clothes with you and leave them in your rental car. When you get back all dirty, you’ll be thankful for a clean, dry change of clothes. And most importantly, have fun on this high-octane ATV adventure!

Please let me know the age limit to ride alone.

Hi Linda, to drive an ATV alone you need to have a driver’s license so age 16. There’s no age limit to riding as a passenger in the side-by-side vehicle, which is what all children must do.
